Winning at any price means endorsing the racism of Donald J. Trump, torture advocate.

For Republicans to pretend they are helpless is just a repeat of George W. Bush's fascism. If the results of that debacle were unpleasant Trump's charade will be devastation to Democracy in the States.

It's time for Republicans to stand up and walk out on Trump. Only the RNC can say who is a candidate and who isn't.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

kc, Trump is at 48% in Florida early returns. Are you asking close to half of the Republican party to walk out?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Didn't the fascists limit free speach in the 1930's? Wasn't it the fascists who were the in violent protests in 1933?

The RNC had only four candidates with two dropping very early in the race. I recall a democratic candidate apologizing for the statement "All Lives Matter". I agree with him! ALL lives do matter. Another democrat is doom for the USA. The nation needs job creation and the debt reduced. Nothing Hillary or Bernie offers address that.

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

The problem for the Republicans is clear. Endorsing a candidate a moral choice, not just political.

Trump has alienated many Republicans and Democrats alike with his disparaging remarks about Mexicans, Muslims and women among others. He entered Tuesday’s primaries embroiled in one of the biggest controversies of his contentious campaign. He has encouraged supporters to confront protesters at his events and is now facing accusations of encouraging violence after skirmishes at a rally last week in Chicago that he ended up cancelling.

“I don’t think I should be toning it down" - Donald J. Trump, torture advocate, from the article

Trump is really testing the moral judgement of the GOP/Tea. That test may ultimately happen on November 6, 2016. As observed before, however, the Republican National Committee is as much responsible for who they allow in the party.

Should they stand and walk? Many are. (Percentages are meaningless without the vote count, if two idiots vote Trump, Trump would have 100% of the idiot vote, so without the vote tally percent is meaningless.)

1 ( +4 / -3 )

A vote for Mrs. Bill Clinton is a vote for racism now that the Grand Dragon of the KKK's California chapter supports her. AllWesternU.S.KlanVotesMatter. . . .

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

Trump and Clinton won Florida, winner take all state.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The danger for the Republican Party grows as Trump defeats Rubio in Florida.

Although Rubio has been so clumsy his loss is unremarkable except as it presses the Republicans to endorse a candidate whose praise of the Chinese Government at Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 should have better warned the GOP/Tea what they are getting themselves into, again.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

"Sweaty Little Marco" has a reason to sweat tonight now that Mr. Trump has won the Florida primary. The guy couldn't even carry his own state. Let his wake begin. . . .

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Trump wins Florida. Kudos!

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

Are you asking close to half of the Republican party to walk out?

Are you asking half the Republican party to sign on with Trump?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Down to 3 now......where will Rubio's supporters go?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

The danger for the Republican Party grows as Trump defeats Rubio in Florida.

That might not be a danger, but a God given needed blessing for the people.

Although Rubio has been so clumsy his loss is unremarkable except as it presses the Republicans to endorse a candidate whose praise of the Chinese Government at Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 should have better warned the GOP/Tea what they are getting themselves into, again.

I seriously doubt that. LOL

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

Little Marco bows out of the race. The establishment GOP meltdown has started. . . .

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

Kasich has a solid lead in Ohio. Just as I predicted - welcome to a brokered convention. The only precedent applicable here, I think, is the 1940 convention, where Wendell Willkie, who placed third on the first ballot behind Taft and Dewey, eventually placed first. That happening with Kasich is plausible, with Trump and Cruz playing the roles of Taft and Dewey.

On the other hand, there is good reason why nobody remembers Wendell Willkie.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Rubio is making speech now. Heis bragging about his farther was a bartender. He needs too know many Americans'parents are middle class and they can vote.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

So, now the Republican establishment is in full freak out. They think a brokered convention may be the solution

Good luck with that.

Either way, brokered or Trump, the Dems will stroll into the White House. Most likely the Sentate.

Hell, possibly even the House.

Today is a great day for America. The Republican party as we know it is dead.

Our long national nightmare is coming to a close.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

1, 2, 3, Goodbye Rubio Tuesday . . . .

2 ( +3 / -1 )

99 delegates, for Trump! And that ain't NO chump change.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

The question of whether Trump will "march into Washington" is still the decision of the Party at the convention.

There are no "legal" questions about a Party endorsement, conventions are not legal proceedings.

Whether the GOP/Tea takes Trump completely or fractures on moral failures is still crystal ball stuff.

The problem remains for the Party of Lincoln, they cannot have half of a Trump. They would have to take all Trump, all the time and Trump would have to continue his serial con job which puts Trump in the position of saying he has no idea of the content or consequence of any of his decisions.

Let the good reader reprise the following, not for effect but for accuracy's sake, something Trump has trouble with now and for the next torturous seven monthes:

Jonathan Chait writes an interesting insight in his piece, "Donald Trump Poses an Unprecedented Threat to American Democracy"

"Trump’s quarter-century-old endorsement of Chinese Communist Party repression went well beyond the familiar derangement of the modern GOP."

"Trump has changed his mind about many things, but a through-line can be drawn from the comments Trump made in 1990 and the message of his campaign now: “When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak."

Trump's dictatorship of dummies isn't playing well in the ears of most Americans.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Marco just now suspends his campaign. He will be missed, I'm sure. Gave a decent speech. Full of middle of the road stuff. He's young and will be back.

Probably as a pro-business Dem.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

There are 3 types of Republicans right now regarding Trump. One group is the Trump supporters. Another group is the anti-Trump supporters.

The third group includes people who, early on, spoke out against Trump, but now they see he's the only shot they have at the White House, have suddenly changed their tune and are now supporting him. These are the people who criticized Trump early on when they thought they had options, but they are so desperate to win the White House they will now support the man they laughed at. Desperation makes you do some strange things.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

The three types of Republicans are Larry, Mo, and Curly.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Rubio just announced he terminated campaign.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

A brokered convention would be a mistake. I will vote my party if that takes place. The ABC (Anyone But Clinton) approach may be suspended by me. The GOP would have treated a GOP candidate very unfairly. Trump has not taken any GOP funding, the GOP has no right to suspend the popular vote for the man.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Networks are calling it for Katich in OH. Not all. But it looks like a win.

Strategy? His campaign manager says "its gonna be great from here on out." And "for Republicans, you can't win the White House without winning OH.":

Still, the Math don't work. When asked that, she said the magic words "contested convention."

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Romney and Cruz are suggesting brokered convention now that Rubio disappeared,

Dem ... Hillary is winning against Sanders. So is Trump except Ohio.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Good luck with that.

Either way, brokered or Trump, the Dems will stroll into the White House. Most likely the Sentate.

You think so, don't be so sure. Even if the Dems were to get the Senate, they probably won't keep it so long as they seem to have a problem with integrity.

Hell, possibly even the House.

50/50

Today is a great day for America. The Republican party as we know it is dead.

I hope so, now all we need is take a giant wrecking ball to the DNC and it will be a day or pure rejoice!

Our long national nightmare is coming to a close.

And the Dems are slowly but surely trailing behind.....

The problem remains for the Party of Lincoln, they cannot have half of a Trump. They would have to take all Trump, all the time and Trump would have to continue his serial con job which puts Trump in the position of saying he has no idea of the content or consequence of any of his decisions.

The establishment can join Trump, if they want.

Let the good reader reprise the following, not for effect but for accuracy's sake, something Trump has trouble with now and for the next torturous seven months:

If that is what it takes to keep the country safe from people that want to harm us. You forgot 9/11?

Jonathan Chait writes an interesting insight in his piece, "Donald Trump Poses an Unprecedented Threat to American Democracy"

Many people said that about Obama as well and they were right. At least you can drive around and see what Trump has created, damn it's all so big, bold and gold. When I drive through L.A. SF and Vegas, I see what Obama has brought to America and that's despair, poverty, racial division, homelessness.

"Trump’s quarter-century-old endorsement of Chinese Communist Party repression went well beyond the familiar derangement of the modern GOP."

And yet, Dems still talk about Bush..... and Dems talk about derangement...

He's right, but I think you are taking his words out of context as do most liberals. Trump meant strength by a strong government, NOT stopping Free speech, but not taking crap from people that want to destroy others right to Free speech or dissent and when you an event where protesters can usurp another candidate from speaking and talking to the people because you don't feel or like or want to listen to another point of view, shows that liberals only care about free speech as long as it involves liberal causes and that's all.

Trump's dictatorship of dummies isn't playing well in the ears of most Americans.

And neither is Hillary's.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

I agree, Mark: A brokered convention would be a mistake. On the other hand, a Trump nomination would be a disaster. What to do? So many choices!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

HRC is giving a victory speech. It is totally about the general election. Also, she's adopted some of Sanders' positions. Notably, not so far taking on Big Money.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

HRC wins Ohio ! Getting closer and closer to that "Madame President" thing, huh ? GO HRC ! ! !

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Trump, you are the right Republican who will stand up-and hopefully-defeat Hillary.Go ahead, best luck.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Today is a great day for America. The Republican party as we know it is dead.

Huh? Its a lovevfest.

The third group includes people who, early on, spoke out against Trump, but now they see he's the only shot they have at the White House, have suddenly changed their tune and are now supporting him.

Not me.

Desperation makes you do some strange things.

Yeah. Look at all the frenzied protesters showing up at the Trump rallies. & causing so much trouble. Fish out of water?

Look at here on JT. Whenever there's a Trump story, the first 2-3 post are usually the "desperate"posters salivating to bash Trump like its their morning coffee.

1, 2, 3, Goodbye Rubio Tuesday . . . .

LoL. Hey Kurobune. That a good Stones song isn't it?

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

"Rubio and Kasich have suggested they might not be able to support Trump if he’s the nominee, an extraordinary stance for intraparty rivals. All of the candidates had earlier pledged to support the nominee." - article

This shows the nature of what the Trump campaign faces next and illustrates the black hole of the GOP/Tea.

One obvious conflict is Trump wants to change the laws of the United States to allow torture. The GOP is fracturing along those lines, among many others. The Party that did Bush's Iraq on forged documents is skating on thin ice.

Many Republicans are faced with not voting on principle, drawing down their power at the ballot box.

Cruz is effectively out as his track record of shuttering Government was so destructive many Senators froze him out and continue to do so based on his really crazy ideas, dinosaurs and cavemen crazy. Cruz's inability to conceive compromise is the mirror of Trump's narcissism.

The convention would be either high drama or the rubber stamp of the weak and stupid. Trump has brought so much baggage he has become his own worst enemy, and worst, the enemy of American Democracy.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Tried listening to Mrs. Bill Clinton, but kept hearing the lying dog she spoke about earlier in her campaign:

Arf, arf, .... arf, arf, arf. . . .

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

It's not necessary to be so vicious about candidates whom you do not support. It reflects badly on yourself.

OK. Ohio goes for HRC. Sanders path to the Presidency is pretty much foreclosed.

But, he will not stop today. He will plod on. Eventually, he will concede.

As a Lib Dem who favors Sanders, let me just say the following:

Sanders speaks for a good chunk of the Democratic base. Amongst younger Dems, he clobbers Clinton. The future of our party is gonna be much more liberal, much more in support of social democracy. So, for this election and for the future, we Dems -- partisan Sander supporters, Lib Dems, and moderates like HRC must

JOIN OR DIE.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

The Don for Prez !

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

I'm calling voter fraud in Ohio. ;)

Hillary will campaign that she's against the TPP, but I was watching a CATO Institute guy on CSPAN pretty much predicted that she will push for the TPP she gets elected. Something to think about for Hillary fans.

GO Trump!

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Sanders speaks for a good chunk of the Democratic base. Amongst younger Dems, he clobbers Clinton. The future of our party is gonna be much more liberal,

So that means, more laziness and more wanting of entitlements, that's wha the country really needs, seriously?!

much more in support of social democracy. So, for this election and for the future, we Dems -- partisan Sander supporters, Lib Dems, and moderates like HRC must JOIN OR DIE.

If the country goes that route, we will become a failed nation closely resembling Mexico or Somalia. Yup, anarchy all the way!

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

In past, Trump had effective loud speech when faced against his GOP noise makers but a little while ago, Hillary proved she can make her. Speech louder and she can yell. I guess Trump has to face her in Nov and I don't know which one wild.shouting match but contents will make me feel Hillary can yell out Trump.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Trump's position on torture isn't a matter of context. Neither was his praise of the Chinese tanks at Tiananmen.

“When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength." - Donald J. Trump

If an American actually believes strength is rolling tanks on peaceful protesters, the iconic photo of the lone student facing down a Chinese tank might inform better the stakes when Trump sees violence as strength and his belief that violence that silences dissent as admirable. (Some have already seen those results at his Loyalty Rallies.)

This is the candidate the Republican has to think about and that isn't context, it's content. And Americans everywhere are thinking about the content of Trump's character and that character is repellant.

Crystal ball consequence? The content of Trump's character will be on glaring display through to Cleveland, Ohio on July 18-21, 2016. Interesting note:

"It is also worth pointing out that, contrary to popular belief, brokered and contested conventions are actually two different things; the former actually refers to backroom deals and negotiations involving senior party figures, while the latter entails delegates voting at the convention."

Wc, generally simply reporting verbatim the latest Trump utterance is sufficient. Bashing is implied.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

JOIN OR DIE.

Join or die. Are you serious?

See! This is inciting hate. Its extreme. These are the kind of people & their violent words (which later becomes their actions) who are showing up at the Trump rallies. Disturbing the peace. Provoking fights.

And then wonder why they get clobbered. Stay classy Left. Stay classy Black Sabbath.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

HRC a moderate????

Are we still thinking Obama is a moderate?

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

While Trump has amassed the most delegates going into Tuesday, he’s won fewer than 50 percent of them. If that pace continues, he would fall short of the majority that he would need to assure him the nomination at the party’s convention in July.

Silliness. When you have won just under 50% of the delegates when there were 4 candidates, things are not that bad. It looks more and more like Trump will win the nomination, Kasich cannot get even 10% of the delegates necessary, and though Cruz will fare better, it is not likely that he can get more than Trump.

Neither was his praise of the Chinese tanks at Tiananmen.

“When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength." - Donald J. Trump

I wouldn't call this praise, it is a pragmatic view of what happened. I have heard my own military officers when I was in the Army talking in the same way to describe other events.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

It's guaranteed that the Dems will win the White House this time round, the Repubs are proving too repulsive for most. The real question is what will the angry Trump and Cruz supporters do once they lose? Will they do something about it, or just cower and spread their cheeks and take it like the submissives that we all think they are? Sadly, I suspect the Repubs will just submit and start whingeing again. They always disappoint

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Let's give a thought to Cruz:

Close second in Missouri and North Carolina.

Distant second in Illinois.

Distant third in Florida and Ohio.

Hard to read the tea leaves here. Winner-take-all, Cruz gets nothing. He'll soldier on, hoping to snatch the lion's share of Rubio's support from Kasich. Arizona and Utah are on March 22, Wisconsin April 5, New York April 19, then a slew of northeastern states on April 26. After the mad rush of the last few weeks, we face a slow dribble during which many things can and will happen, both with the candidates and the establishment. I'd guess Cruz will go postal on Trump starting from tomorrow - he's got to prove he's the only viable option to Trump so as to marginalize Kasich.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Trump's position on torture isn't a matter of context. Neither was his praise of the Chinese tanks at Tiananmen.

You and most libs are taking this and seeing something deeper than what really is.

I think Trump sees in that as a leader you have to be tough, which is something that Obama never was. When you have the French preaching to you, you are supposed to be tough and your enemies should fear you, then you know the crap has finally hit the fan. Obama is without question the weakest president in US history.

This is the candidate the Republican has to think about and that isn't context, it's content. And Americans everywhere are thinking about the content of Trump's character and that character is repellant.

They're also thinking about Hillary's and her lies more, Hillary is not only repellent, she's toxic.

Crystal ball consequence? The content of Trump's character will be on glaring display through to Cleveland, Ohio on July 18-21, 2016.

You just might see fists fly if the GOP thinks it can push people into liking a candidate of the establishments choice.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

You just might see fists fly if the GOP thinks it can push people into liking a candidate of the establishments choice.

True. But a Cruz/Kasich or Kasich/Cruz ticket would end up with a majority of both the popular vote and delegates. The question is who would top the ticket.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Implications of the current tone of US Election:

USA will be more protectionist in trade. Big trade surplus nations with the US like China, Japan, Mexico will be under pressure. The USA will be hitting IS hard, a reversal of Obama administration soft approach. Relationship with Iran will flip-flop. Middle East political & social situation will change rapidly. EU will be stopping mass migration of Muslim refugees from Middle East & Africa soon.
1 ( +2 / -1 )

I guess DEM people are not anxious of Sanders' socialism. They preferred Hillary's economic plans than Sanders.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

**The three types of Republicans are Larry, Mo, and Curly. And the forth, Hillary.......in a class of her own.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Going forward, Trump is going to have to bring his Roadshow of Hate to all of the American People, not just the Luddites from the talk radio crowd. It's easy for Trump to have his rally with parrots, what happens when those parrots are replaced with People?

Crystal ball: What happens when they play the tape of his greatest hits in every market, in every State of the Union?

Will Trump be indignant when he explains the seven deadly sins of his campaign?

Like they say in lawyer school, never ask a question you don't know the answer to.

So far the only answer Trump has ever given is no one is competent to ask him anything.

How will that play in the court of public opinion?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

The Democrats are too naive and promising things they can't deliver. Now, health co-ops have gone bankrupt using taxpayer funds. Millions of dollars lost which won't be paid back. But that is typical. Dreamer Democrats use taxpayer money by the BILLIONS everyday. The Dems also do not care about security or disease. I worked for the government and saw all the checks going out. Unbelievable! And old people calling who had to turn their heat off even during snow because they couldn't afford heat. Taxpayers are forgotten and taken advantage of.

Politics is a dirty, dirty business, both sides play a nasty game

Like they say in lawyer school, never ask a question you don't know the answer to.

Obama never answered or listened to the people and Hillary, the families of the 4 that died in the Benghazi attacks that can't ask her anything. How do you feel the people feel about that? How do the optics look about a former Secretary of State and a president shun tough questions?

How will that play in the court of public opinion?

From what it looks like, quite well.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Odds to win the presidency after Marco God-didn't-want-me-to-win Rubio dropped out and meowed and hissed at Trump:

Clinton 1/2 Trump 3/1 Sanders 18/1 Cruz 28/1 Kasich 28/1

Does anyone fancy Mitt Romney at 200/1?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Bernie is an odd, OLD man trying to make promises to YOUNG people who have no experience in life. Some have never even had a job, spouse or child. Hillary is also using these young people tonight making promises that they will have free college, and plenty of JOBS. Obama also made promises he couldn't keep just to get elected. Meanwhile the capital gains tax is the highest in the US in California at over 33%. Also, the corporate tax in the US is the third highest in the world. Some countries have no capital gains and some states have no capital gains, so it's not like it's necessary, but in CALIFORNIA when you have 3 million illegal aliens, how do you support them? Californians voted long ago not to give the illegals benefits, but their decision was overturned by a judge. Citizens are tired of not having control.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Bingo!! @Leila26 . . . . & Those rainbow "judges" in the California Courts represent the 9th Circuit Courts. Or in many other political circles in the US, often referred to as the "9th Circus." Its disgusting.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

"Bernie is an odd, OLD man trying to make promises to YOUNG people who have no experience in life."

You have a very optimistic view of voters if you think older voters think deeply based on life experience. There are people on this site who think Trump is Hitler and Sanders is Stalin. These people are not rational. Sixty percent of Trump voters think Obama is a Muslim. Do these people strike you as rational thinkers?

The younger generation are the ones getting screwed by government in the pocket of parasitic elites more than most. That's their experience.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

America will lost all her allies and strategic leadership if Trump sit in the white house 2017. So goodluck, Mr Maverick .

0 ( +5 / -5 )

The younger ones are screwed? In California, it is the whites and Asians who are doing the heavy lifting. They get more education and earn more which means they support the older people of all races with their taxes. Governor Brown has done studies and he realizes that some groups of people are not pulling their weight. The highest 5% in income do about 30% of consumer spending, so how is it that youngest are earning more than the older. Sometimes, perhaps, but not usually. California has already had many bankrupt cities.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Governor Brown has done studies and he realizes that some groups of people are not pulling their weight.

Spot on!!

In California, it is the whites and Asians who are doing the heavy lifting.

Spot on x's 2 !!

They get more education and earn more which means they support the older people of all races

x's 3 !!

California has already had many bankrupt cities.

Yeah. Uh-huh, uh-huh . . . . @Leila26. Keep going. You're on fire !!

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Clinton knows how take money and will do so for just opening her mouth whereas Trump knows how to make things! A talker vs a doer-no contest!

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

These people are not rational. Sixty percent of Trump voters think Obama is a Muslim. Do these people strike you as rational thinkers?

Given the way Obama has been appeasing Muslims and most importantly, Muslim countries with a State sponsored terrorist past and countries that we never had a relationship, this case: Iran for over 40 years.

The younger generation are the ones getting screwed by government in the pocket of parasitic elites more than most. That's their experience.

If you would have a president that cared about people, cared about creating jobs and over taxing the people, keeping the federal government out of Education department.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

@Bass

Do you think those who think Trump is Hitler and Sanders is Stalin are rational thinkers?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

It takes 1,237 delegates to win the Republican nomination for president

It takes 2,383 to win the Democratic nomination.

Republican or GOP needs fewer delegates to win the nomination. It has never been a Good or Grand old party. They should be more like Democrats which is ruled by majority.

Rubio and Kasich have suggested they might not be able to support Trump if he’s the nominee, an extraordinary stance for intraparty rivals

GOP party can not be unified by themselves. How can they unify the the whole nation. That party should be separated as Tea party and Non Tea party. It is unusual for failed candidates of party nomination is bashing their fellow GOP man.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I don't see a Hitler in Trump, I see a Japanese Patriot. LOL Japan protects it's citizens more than the US does and they are not bordering Mexico - one of the most dangerous countries on earth. Sanders lives in a dream world and so does Hillary. Why? France's Hollande is now experiencing a 19% approval rate. You see, the SOCIALIST tried to tax the wealthy at 75% which caused 42,000 millionaires to leave. Now, the country is poorer than ever. The people are suffering more than before.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

@Leila26

Do you think those who think Sanders is Stalin are rational thinkers?

I'd say no. It's a pretty straightforward question. You answered the Trump/Hitler question in a straightforward manner.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I think they are just exaggerating which is what everyone does during the elections.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Republican front runners, clear the way to Trump. Its time to go back home.If you dont want support Trump,up to you,who cares,he doesnt need your support, just do us a favor and clear the way to Trump to face Hillary and-hopefully-defeat her.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

So it looks like the GOP is really going to nominate Trump. Amazing.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Trump won four states Ohio gov won Ohio. Hillary won all five states.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Not looking good for Bernie. It looks like the bankers, the super rich and the weapons manufacturers can sleep a little easier tonight. Maybe the Irish can also sleep a little easier knowing that a bigoted Fox News 'Irish' loudmouth won't lower the tone of their country by moving there.

Keep fighting, Bernie. Amid all the knob gags, lies, small-hands and sweat references, slipperiness and downright stupidity, he's still talking about real issues and fighting clean. A fine man.

I wish Bernie had started working Hillary over a few months ago instead of treating her with kid gloves. She has a lot of vulnerabilities, from trustworthiness to judgment, and he needs to bring them to the fore.

As for the GOP, I can see Cruz sneaking through at the convention as long as Trump doesn't gain a majority. Maybe he can cut a deal with Gov. Kasich to be his VP nominee and bring the party together.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Little Rubio never had a chance.

I think one thing should be very clear now Hillary is going win the Dems nomination & the Republican Party NO LONGER EXISTS!!!

Those pretending to be Republicans should divvy up the ""spoils"" & form 2-3 new parties..........what a mess!!!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Trump is starting to look burnt out. Sunbeds and Botox do not a healthy person make.

The question I have is who will implode first - Trump or the Republican party?

The thing of beauty continues.....

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Madverts: I'd say he looks a helluva lot healthier and more energetic than either Hillary OR Bill Clinton, given that they are all basically the same age.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

The Establishment candidate will be the Democrats choice(but will the Bernie-nuts support Shillary?)

On the other hand, the Republican Establishment have been left holding their hats in their hands, getting whooped(again and again) by the Donald whom they loathe only slightly more than Creepy Cruz.

Vote Third-party! Gary Johnson!

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Kcjapan. You're saying its a devestation to democracy and then say to save democracy the encyclopedia should go against the will of the people in their party by unbonding their democratically elected delegates and having them vote for bush shill Cruz. I think your confused what the word democracy means.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

The political party establishment, big capital, and the media elite are ganging up on the anti-establishment candidates in BOTH parties. Looks in the Democrat party, they will succeed and another Clinton will be annointed. In the other party, there is still a chance the corrupt establishment will not win -- I hope for that.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Repubs are proving too repulsive for most.

Apparently you have never met Hillary Clinton. I have, I caucused for her back when she last ran. The more I grew to know her, the more repulsive she became. The more the people get to know her, the less they are going to like her. I have to admit she has a strong personality, and is a good leader. But she is spiteful, vindictive, and would drown a bag of kittens with a smile on her face in order to be president.

And what happens if Hillary is indicted? Of all the candidates running right now, only Hillary is under investigation by the FBI. Too bad the democrats don't have anyone else. Sanders may be the default candidate if Hillary gets a subpoena, and Sanders cannot win against either Trump or Cruz.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

So it looks like the GOP is really going to nominate Trump. Amazing

I'm starting to smile.

As for the GOP, I can see Cruz sneaking through at the convention as long as Trump doesn't gain a majority. Maybe he can cut a deal with Gov. Kasich to be his VP nominee and bring the party together.

They can do that all they want, No one will support Cruz, his own party doesn't like him, not to mention most people either.

Trump is starting to look burnt out. Sunbeds and Botox do not a healthy person make.

Looks a lot healthier and in much better shape than Hillary.

The question I have is who will implode first - Trump or the Republican party?

Either way conservatives won't go anywhere and even if Hillary "were" to get the presidency, conservatives wouldn't just disappear and neither the GOP, they would just regroup, reflect and come back, so any celebration that the party is dead will probably be a big disappointed for liberals and Dems.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

I have to admit she has a strong personality, and is a good leader. But she is spiteful, vindictive, and would drown a bag of kittens with a smile on her face in order to be president.

Sounds Putinesque - ironically, someone Trump would likely support if he weren't otherwise engaged. I vote for policies and the likelihood that an individual will be able to carry them out, not for someone to drink wine with while on a Netflix marathon. Your description of her just steadies my support.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Attilathehungry: As for the GOP, I can see Cruz sneaking through at the convention as long as Trump doesn't gain a majority.

I just can't see the GOP replacing the top vote-getter. It would just be bad form and let's be honest, Trump supporters might be keen to start lighting things on fire if Trump is replaced. Public safety will have to come into play in some form.

Plus, Cruz is probably the most disliked man in politics and it's hard to imagine him forming a coalition of support. My guess is that he has some extreme legal position that he will argue. People will be able to latch on to the notion that they are just following the law.

Elizabeth Warren had a great interview where she told Republicans, “If you really want to stop it, stand up and do your jobs.” This is on the heels of her systematic depantsing of the GOP on the issue of judicial nominations last week. It's a smart play. By calling out GOP leadership she shines some of the blame (and shame) on them, which can be carried over into the presidential election.

I keep going in this circle in my mind which is, "They can't nominate Trump" followed up by, "they can't replace Trump" followed up by, "they can't nominate Trump" and on and on the circle goes. Whatever happens, it's going to be in the history books. At this point their only shot looks to be pinning something on Clinton, real or imagined.

sangetsu:

" Repubs are proving too repulsive for most. "

Seriously? I am not American, but looking in from the outside, I find it refreshing that in Republican party there is actually a choice. While in the other one, another corrupt, lying, glib politician with blood on her hands will annointed, regardless of her background.

BLM! (Bengazi Lives Matter).

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Well, it seems as if the GOP is irreversibly broken. It's a foregone conclusion that Trump will be nominated and that it will divide the party with long established hard-core conservatives breaking to possibly form their own third party. Trump talks of uniting Republicans, but his campaign has only divided it. On the other hand, Trump's racist and sexist comments against Hispanics, Jews, Asians, Muslims, blacks, women, and the LGBT community has only unified those groups even more.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

"Seriously? I am not American, but looking in from the outside, I find it refreshing that in Republican party there is actually a choice. While in the other one, another corrupt, lying, glib politician with blood on her hands will anointed"

As far as I see it, Bernie Sanders is the one offering a very different choice. Look him up. He's an interesting man. He doesn't crack knob jokes or talk about his opponent's hand size or perspiration. He talks about policy.

I'm surprised you haven't come across him.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Elizabeth Warren had a great interview where she told Republicans, “If you really want to stop it, stand up and do your jobs.”

Liz warren is the joke of all jokes, she may have a following for the progressive movement, but in a general election, she would lose hands down, even Sanders is not that crazy and out there.

This is on the heels of her systematic depantsing of the GOP on the issue of judicial nominations last week. It's a smart play. By calling out GOP leadership she shines some of the blame (and shame) on them, which can be carried over into the presidential election.

I think so too, if it's good enough for the Dems to do it, then it should be good enough for the GOP to do it, so why are you libs upset about it? This is what gets me about liberals, they have have very short-term memories. If they do something to the GOP or try to obstruct them, they never calculate that what they did to them could come right back and blow up in their faces as well. Threat others the way you want to be treated. Democrats NEVER Learn!

Whatever happens, it's going to be in the history books. At this point their only shot looks to be pinning something on Clinton, real or imagined.

Oh, it's very real.

As far as I see it, Bernie Sanders is the one offering a very different choice. Look him up. He's an interesting man. He doesn't crack knob jokes or talk about his opponent's hand size or perspiration. He talks about policy.

I'm surprised you haven't come across him

I like Bernie, but this stupid idea of a Robin Hood style income redistribution society will never, ever come to fruition in the US, never. Congress would never allow it and it would put the country further in debt and it would make people lazier and more dependent on the government. No thank you!

"I like Bernie"

I'm talking about Bernie Sanders. You called Bernie Sanders a Bolshevik many times and compared him to Josef Stalin.

Which Bernie are you talking about?

As much vitriol has been sent towards Trump, I find it ridiculously hypocritical that a comment about Mrs Bill's barking be deemed "vicious".

Congrats to Trump and more importantly his supporters... in spite of the full-court press to suppress the voice of the here unto disenfranchised.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Mrs Bill's....

(Psst - Alix, you and that Texas guy: Calling a woman by her husband's name is lame sexism. Nobody says "Mr Donald Zelníčková-Maples-Knauss, née Trump" because doing would make them look like an idiot. You likely know that and just don't care because you're clueless Republicans, which is why your party will be locked out of the White House for at least another four years. I understand your frustration, but the first step towards solving a problem is recognizing that you have one. You'll have four years to do so. I'd suggest you get started now- but of course, you won't, so you'll then have eight years to rectify your boorishness.)

Jimizo since you are not an American I will fill you in a little about comrade Bernie: when his student deferment ran out and his "Conscientious Objector" application was rejected he ran off to Israel an hid on a kibbutz for two years to escape the draft. He has never held an honest job preferring to suck on the government tit for almost 50 years. He is a support of Castro and Che -- you know the guys that did so much to improve the lives of their fellow Cubans that they are willing to get to the US any way possible....

"Hillary Clinton won at least four states, dealing a severe blow to Bernie Sanders’ bid to slow her march toward the Democratic nomination."

Are Democratic voters nuts? They actually think Hillary Clinton would make a better president than Bernie Sanders?

"Trump has been the target of millions of dollars in negative advertising in recent weeks..."

From the beginning, Trump has grown stronger with every shot fired at him.

"... including one ad campaign that highlights his statements that appear to encourage violence — among them, “I’d like to punch him in the face.”

If "he" is that smarmy Ted Cruz, who wouldn't? ha ha but seriously, Hillary Clinton can support the ultimate form of violence - the death penalty - but Trump can't say he'd like to punch a troublemaker in the face? Sheesh...

Some countries have no capital gains and some states have no capital gains, so it's not like it's necessary

With no U.S. or Puerto Rican tax on much investment income of new residents, U.S. citizens now can pay zero tax on capital gains. For several hundred affluent Americans over the last couple of years (including Toby Neugebauer, a key financier to Ted Cruz) the answer has been to establish a principal residence in Puerto Rico, and spend 183 days a year there. The commonwealth is an unincorporated part of the United States, and its residents are U.S. citizens. Nonetheless, the United States treats Puerto Rico as a foreign country for tax purposes. And, unlike the case of U.S. citizens residing in genuinely foreign countries, the United States does not impose any federal income tax when U.S. citizens who are residents of the island earn income from Puerto Rican sources.

-for tax purposes the "51 state" is the best.

"Rubio and Kasich have suggested they might not be able to support Trump if he’s the nominee, an extraordinary stance for intraparty rivals. All of the Republican candidates had earlier pledged to support the nominee."

That would make Rubio and Kasich liars then, wouldn't it?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

@The_Pope

Yes. Thanks for filling me in. I didn't know Bernie was a Castro and Che supporter. I mostly hear him lavishing praise on free Scandinavian democracies with enviously high turnout rates for elections. I might have missed it and so a quote or a link would be helpful to fill me in further. Cheers.

At least you didn't compare him to one of history's most vicious and enthusiastic mass murderers. Believe it or not, there are some out there who make that kind of comparison.

But we can't let that go, right? But if Dems or Hillary do it, just turn your heads, nothing hear, this is beyond disgusting!

A vote for Mrs. Bill Clinton is a vote for racism now that the Grand Dragon of the KKK's California chapter supports her. AllWesternU.S.KlanVotesMatter. . . .

Anybody here NOT think this was a calculated "poison pill" designed to hurt Clinton's campaign? (Besides Texas A&M Aggie, that is?) I wonder how much Trump's campaign paid the Grand Wizard to make that bogus announcement?

Down to 3 now......where will Rubio's supporters go?

Kasich.

Many people said that about Obama as well and they were right. At least you can drive around and see what Trump has created, damn it's all so big, bold and gold. When I drive through L.A. SF and Vegas, I see what Obama has brought to America and that's despair, poverty, racial division, homelessness.

Interesting revisionist history you preach. "Despair, poverty, racial division, and homelessness" have been around in America since long before Obama even was a senator! Go back to school, fool! That's a little gem thought-up solely by Republican leadership using the excuse, "The will of the American people deserves to dictate who the next Supreme Court Justice is and they can do so in the upcoming election." There was no response from the Republican leadership when the question was posed to them as to whether that kind of thinking should apply to Senators and Congressman who are in the last year of their current term - Should they be barred from voting on bills because they are in their last year of their term and therefore don't represent "the will of the people"?

Anybody here NOT think this was a calculated "poison pill" designed to hurt Clinton's campaign?

If you read what this guy Quigg has to say it comes off as a joke; this guy is just having some fun with everyone. I bet he had his fingers crossed behind his back during the whole interview.

But what's the harm in what he said? Clinton supporters would just reject it out of hand and most other people would see it for what it is, laughable.

I wonder how much Trump's campaign paid the Grand Wizard to make that bogus announcement?

If in fact, somebody in the Trump camp made that deal, then they should be fired. Talk about throwing away money. I can't see anyone believing that this endorsement is real. But on the off chance that somebody might not get the joke the media took the precaution by generally ignoring it.

Same thing happened in 2008 when David Duke endorsed Obama.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

David Duke — former Louisiana state lawmaker, grand wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan is a Holocaust Denier.

Donald J. Trump refused to immediately and firmly denounce and condemn the racism of Duke when Duke declared voting for anyone except Trump was a betrayal of Duke's racism.

Lies in service of lies are still lies and that is Trump's strong suit, lies.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@kc: Trump is not refusing. He is too busy to win caucuses of states that he ignores any none vote increasing suggestion if any. Did you suggest your wish to him?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Donald J. Trump refused to condemn David Duke in three separate opportunities on CNN.

Trump claimed he did not know who the racist and Holocaust Denier Grand Wizard David Duke was.

Obviously Trump's operatives are skittish about the truth, they are Trump accomplices in racism.

That is the very nature of racism.

Being too busy to answer a direct question is one way to twist reality.

Trump would be proud of that, its Trump's stock and trade.

It seems that Clinton will amass delegate counts and super delegates are not keen on Sanders as Sanders is Independent and not a party member. Now, we have to figure how Bill Clinton will be addressed and if he still go to oversea to smooth up foreign relation. He went to N Korea demanding to release US citizens in its notorious jail as former President. As Hillary proved She can yell louder than Trump, My guess is she will win in Nnnovember.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

David Duke — former Louisiana state lawmaker, grand wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan is a Holocaust Denier.

That and much more I'm sure. He is as rabid an anti-Semite as your ever going to find. I think that's why when he made the statement of endorsing Trump's candidacy he made it clear that he was endorsing the candidacy and not Trump himself. Duke sees this campaign as bringing attention to a point of view that he believes has been stifled by political correctness. But he stated that he finds Trump "untrustworthy" because of his strong connection to the Jewish community and his support of Israel.

Donald J. Trump refused to immediately and firmly denounce and condemn the racism of Duke when Duke declared voting for anyone except Trump was a betrayal of Duke's racism.

What Duke said was "treason to your heritage". This was in the context of his perspective that none of the other candidates were addressing issues that are important to "European Americans".

Regardless, Trump did disavow Duke, and his endorsement. It seems that your major problem now is the time frame and the level of displayed outrage. I guess he just didn't do fast enough or hard enough to satisfy you.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

You don't get it. The FBI is domestic, and doesn't have anything to do with Benghazi at all.

I do get it, the FBI investigation of her mails should reveal the lies and corruption of her involvement in the Benghazi disaster.

But then again, as you liberals claim constantly she's so innocent, then that equally means, we NEVER have to talk about Bush again either since Eric Holder found him not guilty of ANY war crimes, I am so glad we know all can get this behind us.

Interesting revisionist history you preach. "Despair, poverty, racial division, and homelessness" have been around in America since long before Obama even was a senator!

But they have worsened under Obama, 45 million people on food stamps, highest Black unemployment, entitlements up, median household way down, taxes are through the roof, homelessness is out of control, go to big cities like NY or San Francisco and see for yourself.

Go back to school, fool! Learn something for a change rather than just parroting what the conservative mouthpieces feed you every day.

No, I just go by facts and what I see on the streets.

The Democrats never stated that they weren't going to approve a judicial nomination BEFORE THE NOMINATION WAS EVER MADE. They've opposed plenty of nominations once the nominee was named, but to just flat-out state they don't care WHO it is, they aren't going to approve it because the President is in the last year of Office?

So what's wrong with it? The president did his job and for the record, congress should hold hearings, BUT that doesn't mean, they have to vote on his nominee. Again, when the ball was in the Dems courts, they wouldn't budge, Chuck Shumer said, NO WAY! Now that the tables are turned, the Dems are losing their minds, priceless!

That's a little gem thought-up solely by Republican leadership using the excuse, "The will of the American people deserves to dictate who the next Supreme Court Justice is and they can do so in the upcoming election."

Since dealing with this backstabbing and sneaky president, I wouldn't trust him either and I would dig in my heels just to show the president, we also have the power to defy you, since we have 3 branches of government separate and equal to each other, the president is just beside himself that he really can't do anything this time around.

There was no response from the Republican leadership when the question was posed to them as to whether that kind of thinking should apply to Senators and Congressman who are in the last year of their current term - Should they be barred from voting on bills because they are in their last year of their term and therefore don't represent "the will of the people"?

It was good enough for the Dems to not work with the Republican congress and now all of a sudden, they are so overly anxious to work with the GOP? Don't make me laugh.
