Congrats to both Trump and Clinton. I am looking forward to hearing their positive ideas about improving the US economy, which will be to the benefit of the rest of the world if they can pull it off. (Haven't heard much so far to inspire.)

Clinton has the most experience by a mile. Sanders seems like a nice guy but that isn't enough. Trump is, well, Trump. So it would take a major catastrophe for the next POTUS not to be Clinton. Many on this site knew that the Dems would be in power for years to come because of the ridiculous and childish antics of the GOP compared to the solid work done by Obama and his team.

I'm a Sanders guy myself, but that said, I agree with you about Clinton's experience. She was married to the president for eight years. That will have given her an insight into the position that is unequaled. I still hope Sanders can take it, but if he doesn't, she's a good second option.

I still hope Sanders can take it

Wasn't this supposed to be a major pivotal point for Sanders? For being born and raised in Brooklyn NY, new yorkers didn't show him much love despite the 28,000 who showed up for his rally.

@Wc626 There was MASSIVE voter fraud and voter purging in New York, something like 300,000 registered Democrats had their registration changed without their consent and were unable to vote. Over 100,000 of those were in Bernie's hometown of Brooklyn.

There were also reports of voter fraud and even people trying to vote for Sanders but the voting machines not allowing them to choose him as an option, or to changing their vote to Hillary even though they voted for Sanders.

The election fraud in New York is probably even worse than what happened in Arizona.

Nice to see NY kick Cruz to the curb.

I would like to see Trump vs Sanders. Trump vs Clinton will be a bloodbath of deceitful derisive distractions.

"I would like to see Trump vs Sanders. Trump vs Clinton will be a bloodbath of deceitful derisive distractions."

Spot on. I can see a slanging match between Clinton and Trump. Clinton is carrying a lot of baggage while Trump's half-baked, nonsensical rantings are a perfect recipe for mudslinging.

Trump would be forced to and would hate to step out of his comfort zone of bitchy insults with Bernie.

Trump getting 60% is huge, just this morning people were wondering if he could break 50%.

Trump is back and I couldn't be happier. Cruz was lucky to make it out of NY alive. What sort of presidential candidate attacks the people of his country's biggest city?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Disagree, Jimizo. Clinton is very sharp in all areas. Sure, she has all the baggage that the most-investigated person on earth would, but Trump will look like a fool bringing it up - in particular as the obvious question, "Gee, Don, what were you doing at the time?" will come up - and the fact that Trump will not be able to rein in his misogynist tendencies.

Sanders would be torn to shreds.

Wait a minute....60% vote! Isn't Trump supposed to be sexist and racist? Or is that just what the media tells everybody? Looks like either the media is inaccurate or the state that knows Trump knows a different Trump. Or over 60% of the voters are sexist and racist supporters.

“The race for the Democratic nomination is in the home stretch and victory is in sight.”

Even if she gets indicted, Democrats will still nominate her, lol.

"Trump getting 60% is huge"

It's huuuuuuuuuuge!

Go Trump!

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

How can a misogynist and racist get 60% of the votes? People are weird OR they know a Trump different from the one we're told of. MarkG above said the same thing. There's no black or Hispanic or illegal Mexican or anything of the like working in a Trump company? If nothing else, I like his open style; very fresh. I've disliked Hillary since her husband's days. I see her as just a power hungry woman. Not a nice one at that. That's the only reason they moved to Chappaqua. I've never seen anything good come out of her heart as her PC would not allow her to speak who she really is...a seasoned politician. All that said, who is more likely to bring peace? Who will protect OUR butts here in Asia? Who has harmonizing, compromising sense? Can either rein in Big Biz? Does either want to? Anyway, I think global and I haven't heard either of them speak much in that direction. Has Hillary ever run anything other than a law firm?

No, we determine it by the sexist and racist things he says.

But it's weird that you think his polling numbers somehow cancel that out. That's some strange logic.

Mark, the GOP results only reflect those New Yorkers registered GOP.

New York is a very Democratic state - it's government is monolithically Democratic. As such, a minority of New York voters voted in the GOP primary - let's guess 40%. 60% of these voted for Trump, which equals 24% of all New Yorkers - about equal to his national support rate. It's not difficult to imagine that 24% of New Yorkers are "sexist and racist supporters", and that 100% of them voted GOP.

Fools will elect fools

Leadership ... Sanders could guide his NY supporters to register to Democratic party member last year but did not. As a. New Yorker, he knew NY regulation. Since Trump's Chicago Rally. He could not control behavior of his rowdy supporters.

Fools will elect fools

True fools don't even vote. Yet, they foolishly complain all the time. A fool is a fool, is a fool. And they're everywhere.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

In reality very few people actually voted because of the registration requirements. I expected Bernie to win and carry his momentum, but with very few of his people being registered they were not allowed to vote.

By contrast everyone knew Trump would take NY and especially NYC. Really the battle was for the #2 spot and Cruz lost that battle by a lot. It was another Trump landslide steamroller win. All the media hate and hype (Cruz) could not stop the Teflon Don. This maybe Trump's biggest win and greatest day. = Probably calling everyone he knows and thanking them. Today you are #1 Donald J Trump.

In Chicago at first Trump 's rally, Sander's supporters used Sanders support placards to protest Rally. Boom . Trump became famous. Trump's supporters increased. Study Sanders' supporter activity history and Sanders smearing Hillary. Do you notice similarity?

badsey, I agree that strange things happened in the election, but the results show Sanders carrying the entirety of the rural counties and Clinton winning the urban areas. That is to be expected.

No one is sure what is up with the hiccups in the system - and these are certainly not limited to NY - but I sincerely doubt they greatly affected the results.

All of candidates will campaign in PA and other eastern states but biggest bonanza state is California.

Both voting and donation and parties.

New York votes, and can we bag this thing already?

Markos Moulititsas, Founder and Publisher of The Daily Kos

This loss was devastating to Bernie Sanders, not just because he’ll end up losing a net 30 or so delegates, but because it takes another 247 delegates off the board. He now has a BIGGER margin to make up, and one less state (with a ton of delegates) to work with. Thus, he would have to average 58 percent of the delegates in the remaining states to win a majority of pledged delegates. And next week looks just as inhospitable to Sanders as Tuesday was. In fact, it’s pretty clear that with most of Sanders’ best states behind him, the rest of the map looks very favorable to Clinton.

PA Last time, Hillary won against Obama but later she gave up to Obama. She was well liked there. Her husband is campaigning there. One advantage she has is female DEM members are favorite of Bill. Many say he is cute. He has gray hair and glasses but our area Dem and GOP girls say he is still cute. But I believe PA people are serious.

Cruz only talks to Trump whatever he can fault. Trump hired a new Communication difector. He is very serious now.
