President Donald Trump won at least a temporary reprieve from the Supreme Court earlier this week in keeping secret grand jury materials from the Russia investigation away from Democratic lawmakers.

What does Trump want kept hidden. What don't Trump and his Department of Justice, led by Trump appointee Barr, want known about Russian 'meddling'.

Foreign meddling in US politics had never been acceptable prior to the Trump era. Republicans used to be zealots about protecting US sovereignty. Why aren't they now.

"Trump counting on Supreme Court to block probes, lawsuits"

Last I checked, the Judicial branch isn't at the beck and call of the Executive branch. Or maybe I'm wrong, the rule book was set on fire a couple of years ago...

The impeachment of the Democratic Party is underway.

That would suit Trump and his supporters, who would like to run out the clock at least until after Election Day.

Whatever he has to hide must surely be so embarrassing that he believes that it could cost him the election. Of course, those who see him as a Messiah won't care what it says, but black and white evidence of his greed and corruption may be too much for some.

Supreme Court for now stops House Democrats from seeing secret Mueller material.

Welcome to a fourth world country.

With each new decision, the Roberts court ensures the Supreme Court's impotence and irrelevance for years and decades to come.

The poor excuse for a human being currently occupying the White House is a disaster for the United States of America and to the world.

As the days pass, it confirms he is unfit to be President of the United States of America (POTUS).

We the People of the United States of America were fooled once (not me) and have the opportunity reverse the “And we’ll see what happens” lunacy as early as November 3, 2020.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

I'm tired of hearing about the president in the news. It's exhausting. Multiple criminal probes, multiple obstruction probes, multiple over reach of power probes, and multiple civil suits. This is why the US can't function like a proper government.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

The poor excuse for a human being currently occupying the White House

You're confusing the White House with the position of Speaker of the House.

As the days pass, it confirms he is unfit to be President of the United States of America (POTUS).

No, it confirms he is totally fit to be POTUS.

We the People of the United States of America were fooled once (not me) and have the opportunity reverse the “And we’ll see what happens” lunacy as early as November 3, 2020.

How big of a Trump landslide will it be? We'll see what happens.

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

How big of a Trump landslide will it be? We'll see what happens.

The election will come down to a few swing States, but it looks very unlikely to be a landslide. There margin of victory for Trump, if he wins again, will be even smaller. He will get a minority of the vote again, but the inherent bias of the American electoral system means that he could still win.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

How do you figure? Trump won 2016 with 8% of the black vote. He's going to double or triple that in 2020.

the inherent bias of the American electoral system

How come Hillary didn't complain about the "inherent bias" of the electoral system during the campaign?

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

I wonder how it happened that a pathological liar, corrupt, non-taxpaying, five-time draft dodger became the darling of Republicans?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

The administration says Democrats are obsessed with embarrassing Trump at all costs.

No, no, no. He does a pretty good job doing that by himself. Just give him a stage and a mic with an unscripted speech and he shoots himself in the foot every single time. Then the next day he has one of those 'here hold my beer' moments to one up the previous day. It's been like that since Jan. 20, 2017.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

How come Hillary didn't complain about the "inherent bias" of the electoral system during the campaign?

Yeah, how come she didn't complain about the thing that screwed her before she knew it would screw her.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Good question. His personal taxes are investigated by the government frequently. He gets audited often due to his wealth. Is the IRS corrupt and unable to perform its investigative responsibilities? It’s not necessarily the case that someone who owns a private business is automatically a criminal. The IRS’s failure to find the criminal activity the Dems assume he is involved in is a serious scandal. Maybe the IRS needs to be reformed?

If someone is hiding documents, for example Biden’s Delaware rape files, someone should sue and get their hands on those documents. Especially if they can be given to his political enemies in Congress so they can be leaked to a friendly journalist. What is he hiding?

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

He wants to run and hide

That is total nonsense, if he did, then he wouldn’t be in office right now, he be somewhere in the Cayman Islands.

Bingo!

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

because you would fix something that supposedly "inherent bias" well before you determine whether it will personally affect you or not. Not use it as an excuse for 2016 and preparing it for use again in 2020.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

He wants to run and hide.

He's got a lot to hide (even from himself), but I'd sure love to see Trump running!? Seriously, this will be the supreme test of the Supreme Court's commitment to upholding the laws of the land and defending the ideals of democracy. If the judges fail this easy test, the Dems in control of House, Senate and Presidency will have to restructure the Supremes by ridding the court of its right-wing bias.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

He wants to run and hide

@bass4That is total nonsense, if he did, then he wouldn’t be in office right now, he be somewhere in the Cayman Islands.

Trump's had his armies of highly paid lawyers, accountants and other 'fixers' hide things for him all his life. Now he's got Barr and the DOJ hiding things for him. He's been so well protected he's never had to flee the country. After all he's part of the 'elite', and as is said laws are for peasants, not the elite. Oh my har har LOL

3 ( +4 / -1 )

because you would fix something that supposedly "inherent bias" well before you determine whether it will personally affect you or not.

So, to fix it you have to be in charge, and she should have fixed it before she was in charge.

And you people truly believe what you say isn't entirely inane.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

you dont have to be president to speak out for changing the electoral college process.

Many of the Dem candidates have brought it up, then dropped it when they realized the "focus groups" were telling them its not a good issue.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

you dont have to be president to speak out for changing the electoral college process.

Oh, well in that case, you're going to have to find something else to be outraged about:

Hillary Calls For End To Electoral College (November 10, 2000): https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hillary-calls-for-end-to-electoral-college/

And this one:

Clinton also repeated her belief that the Electoral College should be eliminated and that the presidential election be based strictly on the popular vote -- which Gore leads over Bush.

https://www.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/12/11/hillary.king/index.html

So let's see how you people try to spin this next.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Trump's had his armies of highly paid lawyers, accountants and other 'fixers' hide things for him all his life.

And they Democrats weaponized by the FBI used their liberal lawyers and fixers to undo an election of a duly elected President.

Now he's got Barr and the DOJ hiding things for him.

As did the last President with Holder.

He's been so well protected he's never had to flee the country.

We said the exact same thing for 8 years.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

McGahn should not be forced to appear before Congress, the administration argues, because he is among a band of presidential advisers who have “absolute immunity" from testifying about their interactions with the president. The full federal appeals court in Washington recently heard arguments in the case and could rule at any time.

Absolute immunity? I thought that only existed in Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran...

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Well at least the Supreme Court will finally rule one way or the other on these issues so that we can just move on to the second term.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

His personal taxes are investigated by the government frequently. He gets audited often due to his wealth. Is the IRS corrupt and unable to perform its investigative responsibilities?

The IRS's job is simply to check if someone diligently reports his revenue and pays his taxes. It's not to uncover lies somebody would tell like "I have no business dealings with Russia" or "I'm a billionaire".

Trump's tax returns don't necessarily hide financial crimes (although I'm sure they're not completely clean either), they simply hide the truth of his finances (for example : the fact that he's ten times less richer than he says he is), and this is what Trump doesn't want the country to see.

Allegedly.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

We said the exact same thing for 8 years.

The republicans held the House during most of Obama's presidency, and both the House and the Senate during the last 3 years. And yet Obama hasn't been impeached once. Why do you think that is? The right is obviously convinced Obama was the worst and most corrupt president in American history, and calls for his impeachement were as numerous as they were empty and/or downright stupid. And yet not one of those turned into a full-flegded impeachment. I do not recall him asking the Supreme Court to block access to his birth certificate, or any other personal information either. Could you explain this?

That may be true, but I think there's a lot more potential fraud and misconduct being hidden. Read "Dark Towers" by David Enrich and you'll see the long history of the Trump Org getting loans from Deutsche Bank - from money that originated from Russia. Deutsche Bank has long served as the laundering point for Russian oligarch money being funneled into the Trump Org.

Don Jr and Eric both admitted it when they said; "We get all the money we need from Russia"...

Of course there is. But all that can (and will) be denied and litigated. It's all too complicated for the average voter to grasp. But Trump saying "I'm a billionaire" and his taxes showing he actually loses money every year, is hunderds of millions in debt and is far from having the money he says he does is a very understandable and quite immediate humiliation.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

tax returns dont indicate your bank account balance, so it wouldnt show anyone as being "in debt", nor would it show their net worth. Just how much personal revenue you made in a year.

Agree, but would add it's equally humiliating to try to explain these two statements;

Donald Trump in 2016: "For the record, I have ZERO investments in Russia,"

Eric Trump in 2014: "We have all the funding we need out of Russia."'

Any Trump supporter here care to try?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

This just goes on and on.  Surely Russia is over by now?hey should spend all this wasted time looking at how corrupt the whole transition process was and how corrupt to FBI were.

2014 and 2016 are not the same year, for starters.

something true in 2014 could no longer be true by 2016.

The "we" of 2014 might not include a person speaking as "I" in 2016 either.

in other words, things change.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

plus there was 3.5 years spent on "Russia". Time to move on to Impeachment #2. Please do it before the election so that in can blow up in your faces, again.

Fail. Eric said they do not deal with banks in the US - they "get all the money they need from Russia"....

Yet Trump has said no business with Russia on at least 8 occasions....

So, who's lying?

That's if the hydroxochloroquine doesn't take care of it before Nov...

I choose “Fallout” when it comes to Russian scandal written by John Solomon.

Deutsche Bank has long served as the laundering point for Russian oligarch money being funneled into the Trump Org.

Ahhh, that old debunked myth, what’s next? Trump meeting in Russia with multiple women in a hotel that Obama shared before him?

Don Jr and Eric both admitted it when they said; "We get all the money we need from Russia"...

Nothing wrong with that, their business people and then after president, so legitimately unconstitutionally they can do that, if Democrats did have solid ground to go after the president based on what you just said they would’ve done that, God knows Nadler and Schiff tried everything else.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

The only thing our beloved president, trump is concerned about, not afraid of, because he is not afraid of anything, is that the public will realize how charitable he is.

I believe he contributes 100% of his company profits to charity and coming across as charitable in his line of business isn't always good,

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Though some from the fake media might say his company doesn't make any profits!!

That picture of Trump needs to be turned into many memes

Absolutely....I'll start;

1) Putin from audience: "Hey Donald, who has your back in 2020?"

2) Question from reporter: "President Trump, are any of your armed, domestic terrorist supporters with the Neo-Nazi arm bands and confederate flags here today?"

3) Where's the Grand Wizard?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

How do you figure? Trump won 2016 with 8% of the black vote. He's going to double or triple that in 2020.

actually no recent polls show Biden has more support in swing states and minorities, even more than Hillary, the only thing that would have saved Trump was the economy, now he really has nothing to boast about
