President Donald Trump defended the "perfectly coordinated" U.S. response to the coronavirus epidemic Sunday amid heavy criticism over health cuts and strategic blunders that have failed to stem its rapid spread.

Is this Donny speaking his opinion, being hyperbolic, or just demonstrating his utter incompetence and inability to admit to a mistake? I’m sure we’ll have one of his fan bois along shortly to interpret this for us. Dear lord! Smh.

Trump, who has been accused of peddling misinformation on the outbreak, blamed the media

Not surprising that once again Trump attacks something he and his followers call 'the media'. Not surprising that 'media' figures like

Rush Limbaugh and Fox News' Laura Ingraham are denying the coronavirus risk in an attempt to protect Trump

https://www.businessinsider.com/right-wing-media-spreads-conspiracy-and-deny-risk-of-coronavirus-2020-2

Denying the risk? Seriously? It's still uncertain where this is going, but how can anyone 'deny the risk'.

Trump's the worst sort of 'leader' in a situation like this, a person who has a history of dishonesty, a person who makes every situation be about him. A person whose White House sends messages contradicting the medical scientists.

How's Trump's 'better than Obamacare' healthcare doing?

7 ( +13 / -6 )

I think President Trump is doing a good job concerning the virus. He is not exhibiting the fear and panic that the media wants. He is calm in the crisis.

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

Dems are hopeful that this crisis can be leveraged to finally rid themselves of President Trump. You can see the hopeful sense they feel by watching the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC.

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

The problem with narcissism is they believe what they say to be true. Case in point Donnie Fiascos who stint as potus.

6 ( +12 / -6 )

An imperfect health care system, legions of homeless, thousands sleeping in vehicles.

Unsanitary conditions will ensure this virus takes off in the US big time...

7 ( +12 / -5 )

He is not exhibiting the fear and panic that the media wants.

I have yet to read about that 'fear and panic'. But then I don't read read outlets reporting events from sensationalist perspectives. Given all the misinformation that comes from places like 8chan, Breitbart and others, it could be some do. But then it's up to individuals to decide how to interpret what's reported.

You can see the hopeful sense they feel by watching the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC

Posters who use CNN and MSNBC as bogeymen must watch them. I don't watch either. Do you have some examples of what's been said?

1 ( +8 / -7 )

Dems are hopeful that this crisis can be leveraged to finally rid themselves of President Trump. You can see the hopeful sense they feel by watching the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC.

Of course they are! Give a man enough rope...

No one wants the virus, and we all wish it didn't exist.

But an unexpected yet positive side effect of the virus is that it has given Trump a platform to expose just how incompetent he is. And if that ends up killing his re-election possibilities due to the people finally seeing how bad he is as a president.

tldr; Better to not have the virus, but if it takes out Trump's presidency that's a lucky side-effect.

8 ( +15 / -7 )

He is not exhibiting the fear and panic that the media wants.

Maybe the media wants fear and panic, but the people want a stable leader who is realistic about the situation so they can deal with the real situation, and not some team sport they have invented in their head where the whole thing is a "hoax" by the other team.

So he is also not exhibiting the leadership that the people expect from their leader.

Because he's an incompetent leader.

7 ( +14 / -7 )

Not surprising that once again Trump attacks something he and his followers call 'the media'. Not surprising that 'media' figures like

The media is unjustly as usual attacking him, glad he punches right back and continues to do so.

Denying the risk? Seriously? It's still uncertain where this is going, but how can anyone 'deny the risk'.

Some countries have a lower risk, the disease is not everywhere relax. some countries have more of an outbreak than others, as to what the risk is, no one knows yet.

Trump's the worst sort of 'leader' in a situation like this,

Why? He can say what he wants, just tune him out and listen to Dr. Fauci, he’s the expert. That’s what I do. As much as I love our President, when he talks about this, I really don’t focus on that, my focus is always on what his immunologists say. Try it, you stress levels will go down.

a person who has a history of dishonesty, a person who makes every situation be about him.

Now you know how we felt the last 8 years.

How's Trump's 'better than Obamacare' healthcare doing?

After his inauguration next year, I’m sure him and the Democrats will come together to fix this thing.

-14 ( +6 / -20 )

After his inauguration next year, I’m sure him and the Democrats will come together to fix this thing.

Yeah, because Trump has put together such a comprehensive health care plan in the past four years, right?

9 ( +17 / -8 )

Meanwhile critics point to deep CDC cuts

Trump just pissed them off, here's how:

He denied them the cash payout of 8 billion and instead distributed that money to state and local governments. Some will no doubt rob it, but my guess is about half will actually use it as intended, and that's a lot better than throwing a pirate a pallet of gold and telling him to use it for the benefit of society. The pirate leftists would simply steal it and ask for more while they intentionally infect people to "prove they need it." They have done it time and time again with other issues. ****Fool me once!

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

If the economy takes a big hit because of the virus Trump will also take a hit in his election campaign.

Given the fact that Biden is looking more and more compromised, I doubt he’ll be even remotely compromised.

But I’m sure the President appreciates the kind gesture....

Trump said he would withhold virus funding against those sanctuary cities/states in an act of revenge putting that ahead of the health of the nation.

Hyper-partisans put partisanship above everything. Everything.

6 ( +12 / -6 )

@basf4Why? He can say what he wants, just tune him out

Trump should be tuned out and not trusted. Unfortunately he's the most powerful person in the US with dozens of millions of followers who believe whatever he says, who then parrot whatever he says regardless of truth. He's said he knows more about just about everything, more than the experts, and sadly too many of his followers believe him. Cult of personality redux. BTW, how have those worked out in the past.

Lawyer up the American way

Trump said he would withhold virus funding against those sanctuary cities/states in an act of revenge putting that ahead of the health of the nation.

Trump says a lot of things, you liberals always say, he lies, he can’t be trusted, so basically add that remark to his list of lies.

Trump should be tuned out and not trusted.

I just said that, so Zichi should breath a sigh of relief.

Unfortunately he's the most powerful person in the US with dozens of millions of followers who believe whatever he says,

But haters don’t, so you guys shouldn’t worry, I sure don’t, but you don’t know the entire US population stop listening to the media, No one is using Trump as the main source of information for this virus. The media is making y’all crazy, don’t listen to them. Lol

Just listen to his experts.

who then parrot whatever he says regardless of truth. He's said he knows more about just about everything,

Trump Said, he knows more about God himself, you believe him? You guys don’t realize Trump loves to antagonize and troll the media just like they do to him and it works every time and you guys don’t realize it. Trolling goes both ways and Trump does get a kick when he says these things because he knows it riles you guys up.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

Trump is a congenital liar.

What the American people need right now is a president who's honest and tells them the truth at a time like this, not a president who's going to blow smoke up our behinds by telling us that everything's just great! Just the facts and no more BS....PLEASE!

11 ( +13 / -2 )

@bas4fTrump says a lot of things, you liberals always say, he lies, he can’t be trusted, so basically add that remark to his list of lies.

The bar of what's acceptable from a leader continues to go lower the longer Trump's in office. Zero regard shown by some of his followers for integrity, honesty, ethics, things most Americans, including those who identified as 'conservative', valued.

The only defense for their Trump is 'other people are bad, too'. Sadly nadir hasn't been reached. Whenever I read 'he's trolling the libs' I hear it said in 'A Clockwork Orange' George or Dim's voice.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

The CDC and other high criminals were denying testing at the local level, while they were set to receive billions that they simply would have stolen. Remember, these same people got several billion for "homeless causes" in California and NOT ONE DAMN THING got done, ZERO "tiny homes" with all prospects for them being priced at $200, 000 and even at that price, none, NOT ONE, got built. No housing, no food programs, no public bathrooms, NOT ONE DAMN THING.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

As much as I love our President, when he talks about this, I really don’t focus on that, my focus is always on what his immunologists say.

Translation: the President is talking garbage; listen to what his experts say.

I world have more confidence if thoe competent officials below him had not been fired or resigned.

The man in charge calls the biggest health crisis for a generation a "hoax". If he doesn't believe it, it doesn't really matter what the experts say - he doesn't listen.

Oil prices have crashed 20%. Supply and demand are being hit. Saudi not willing to cut production.

Some say an element in the dynamic contributing to the downfall of the USSR was Bush 41 getting his family friends the Al Saud's to keep production high, thereby prices low. Sales of oil and gas were one of the main sources of revenue for the USSR. Lower oil prices could hurt Russia and its partner Iran.

Investors betting big against catastrophic diseases are watching the World Health Organization closely as insurance bonds tied to whether the organization labels COVID-19 a pandemic are set to mature in June.

That is why the WHO does not declare the coronavirus a pandemic.

Trump defiant as White House is rebuked for coronavirus 'mess'

"Mess" doesn't quite capture the absolute incompetence and blatant untruthfulness with which Donnie has completely mismanaged this pandemic. He first lies about the seriousness of the virus, then offers flagrantly incorrect info on what to do - "go to work, its not that serious"...

Over the past two weeks every time he has opened his mouth his staff has had to go our immediately and do a "clean up". I can't stand Pence, but Pence looks like an effective leader compared to the deluded rantings of the Great Orange Dimwit. Unfortunately for Pence, that won't bode well for him being on the ticket in Nov.

Trump needs to stay on the golf course 24/7 for the next month, and let the CDC and Dr Fauci keep us informed. But he can't do that - his insecurity means he has to have his orange face in front of every TV camera.

This will be his "Katrina", but it will be much, much worse...for all of us...

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Trump just being Trump = garbage in, garbage out = another fine mess = YOU'RE FIRED!

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Bass says that we should listen to the experts and not listen to Trump because what he says about the virus is untrue. Bass also says that the media is unfairly beating on Trump because it reports the falsehoods he spews.

If Americans should tune out their national leader in times of crisis, why is this man president anyway?

12 ( +15 / -3 )

The CDC and other high criminals were denying testing at the local level, while they were set to receive billions that they simply would have stolen.

Meanwhile back in the real world, they were working on shortened resources due to having their budget gutted by Trump.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

"We have a perfectly coordinated and fine tuned plan at the White House for our attack on CoronaVirus," Trump tweeted.

If Donny would stop lying and spouting his uneducated nonsense there would be a semblance of coordination.

Between Donny, Pence and Ben Carson, its starting to look like a bas comedy show..

"People are surprised that I understand it. Every one of these doctors said: 'How do you know so much about this?' Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president."

--Donald J. Trump, President and Very Stable Genius

9 ( +10 / -1 )

If Americans should tune out their national leader in times of crisis, why is this man president anyway?

And why should we believe the figures Trump's government appointees and their lackeys say about the economy. Trump's anti-government, can't-trust-the-government, get-government-off-our-backs backers must be saying the same thing. Amirite?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

This is a situation where you need a grown-up leader.

Trump is too childish and limited to deal with this seriously. He doesn’t have any higher gears.

Listen to the experts. Ignore him.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Good to have some humour to lighten what is otherwise a dark and gloomy topic:

"We have a perfectly coordinated and fine tuned plan at the White House for our attack on CoronaVirus," Trump tweeted.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Weird to see words like "Libs" and "Dems" floating around as if they were organised groups, which they certainly aren’t. It's all smokescreen in an attempt to cover up the total ineptitude of someone of an IQ possibly lower than the much quoted foot-in-the-mouths GW Bush or Dan Quayle. Somehow he managed to escape impeachment, but Trump will never live down the massive failure that's on his immediate horizon with coronavirus.

One more time, the current occupant of the White House, confirms he is unfit to be President of the United States of America (POTUS)

The USA has been under an undeclared state of emergency since November 8, 2016.

How are Donny followers uneducated?

By listening to him instead of looking and using their OWN judgement.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

A very accurate image of the minds of the uneducated Donny followers.

Anyone listening to Trump for the right thing to do regarding this situation can be accurately described as uneducated. To be fair, there are posters here who know his usual fare of lying, trolling, trash and grandstanding is what it is.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Trump is too childish and limited to deal with this seriously. He doesn’t have any higher gears.

Listen to the experts. Ignore him.

I for one know that when I am looking at the competency of a leader, whether or not I have to ignore them for my own personal safety is definitely a metric I would use in the evaluation.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

As always, the media is close at hand to do their part.

As they have for centuries. That the media report what Trump says is their role. That some spin what he says is also part of their jobs. So far I've read an array of spins. As it should be. Except perhaps to those who want a North Korea/China/Russia/Saudi Arabia form of media where the rulers decide what to report and how to report it.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@Mr. Noidall

Do you regard Trump’s words on this outbreak as accurate and to be seen as good leadership in this situation?

8 ( +8 / -0 )

The problem with having a narcissistic, compulsive liar President is that you can't trust him in times like this.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

The problem with having a narcissistic, compulsive liar President is that you can't trust him in times like this.

Even the right is relegated to well, he blusters a lot, you just have to not listen to his words at this point.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

No your being disingenuous.

No I'm not. I pointed out the facts of the demographics, and you decided that meant:

your position that institutional education necessarily means one is smarter or more logical than someone who hasn't been institutionally educated.

You took something I never said, and tried to say that it was my position. And then you try to call me disingenuous. Yeah, right.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

That's not what we we're talking about.

That is exactly what we are talking about, institutional education turns out qualified people.

I believe this what's called a false equivalency.

It is definitely not.

You must be one the "educated ones" .

I am not giving out unqualified advice....

Now if I throw a stick will you go away?

Now that is just not a deficiency of education, but also a lack of proper upbringing...

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The man has lied so much that now it's quite hard for him to stop even if he wanted to.

It's unfortunate that these Trump supporters are uneducated and uninformed. Some of them I feel sorry for because they watch FOX News and FOX News only.

Oh well, it's useless now. Once everybody has it, it's game over. The environmentalists were right.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

not panic, which the media have been over zealous in getting people to become,

Could a couple examples of what the 'media' have done to get people to become panicked be provided. I've seen pictures of people standing in long queues and read articles about people 'panic' buying. But to me that's newsworthy, something that should be reported. I've read a range of descriptions and explanations of what's going on, many contradictory. Some dismissing it as nothing more than a cold whose spread will end come April, some saying it's a pandemic, and many opinions in between. If the point is some people might be panicking, that could well be. Individuals are going to react differently. But I don't see how that's the 'media's' fault.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Redtail Swift:

The man has lied so much that now it's quite hard for him to stop even if he wanted to.

I hear this claim a lot, but every time I read an article that lists the supposed lies, I see basically false claims, distortions, out of context snippets, and often a simple failure to understand a joke.

So, just out of curiousity: Can you give us, say, the 3 most blatant lies that you think he said? I am sure can come up with hundreds, but just give us the worst ones. Thanks!

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Trump Said, he knows more about God himself, you believe him? You guys don’t realize Trump loves to antagonize and troll the media just like they do to him and it works every time and you guys don’t realize it. Trolling goes both ways and Trump does get a kick when he says these things because he knows it riles you guys up.

Priorities for the left: Saving lives, fighting disease, getting an accurate handle on a major virus outbreak, containing the problem, protecting America.

Priorities for the right: the lolz
