And Trump's presidency will go down as one of the worst botch jobs in history.

Cue the conservative posters making the exact unverified claims that Comey leaked classified info and that he lied under oath that Trump tweeted. They'll also claim, without evidence, he was corrupt. Conservatives are driven by emotion. The two main emotions being fear and anger.

14 ( +20 / -6 )

People investigating crimes typically are considered pains in the arses to those who committed the crimes or agree with the crimes that were committed.

15 ( +18 / -3 )

Good comments by Trump. If Comey gets investigated then he can point to the Tweet and the DOJ will have to show that Trump didn't influence their independent decision to investigate.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

Being called an untruthful "slime ball" by President Scumbag is a badge of honor.

WTG Comey!

Trump demands prosecution of ex-FBI chief Comey

This from a guy who admires Philippine leader Duterte. A guy who gets as giddy as a school girl with a crush on a boy whenever he's near Putin. Yeah, right. Man up, Mr. President! If you truly have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to fear. So why are you flipping out so much like a person who has something to hide?

BTW, nice one on pardoning Libby. One of the people responsible for revealing and punishing an undercover CIA agent publicly for providing an honest and accurate assessment of WMD to the Bush administration. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds. Weren't you, Mr. President, supposed to be the guy who was so angry about all of the lies and misinformation regarding the truth about WMD and the Iraq War?

I'm looking forward to buying and reading Comey's book, and I don't care if it mentions Trump as being orange with half-moons under his eyes. Why are some people so upset about that anyway? It's just an accurate description of a person being discussed.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

The truth is the truth and If in fact Comey lied and leaked he should be prosecuted for those just like everyone else.

just as the IG report on McCabe was released today there will be one with Comey’s name on it soon enough. Poor innocent McCabe that was being bullied by tweets and did nothing wrong? Not true.

I find it interesting that anything found in a raid is ok by liberals to use even if unrelated to what they looking for. but comey cant be prosecuted at all when crimes are found just because of a tweet? I’m quite sure he can and he should be if there is evidence he committed a crime.

-16 ( +3 / -19 )

a cocoon of alternative reality, perfectly said.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

If someone called me a slimeball to my face they better have witnesses.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

I find it interesting that anything found in a raid is ok by liberals to use even if unrelated to what they looking for.

I explained this to you on a different thread. Since you clearly need a refresher, here you are:

If the evidence they seize pursuant to the search warrant contains evidence of crimes unrelated to the search warrant, that evidence is admissible. They can't go digging for evidence unrelated to the search warrant and use it.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Name-calling from a 71 year-old is cringingly childish and embarrassing. Time to grow up!

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Except they aren’t doing that. They have to exclude any Trump records.

“Once they've reviewed the records, the filter team can give to the investigators communications "between Cohen and persons with whom Cohen undisputedly does not have an attorney-client relationship," likely meaning the records wouldn't be between Cohen and Trump, prosecutors said.”

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Can’t DT just continue golfing and let adults run the country?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Trump fired Comey in May 2017, citing the FBI's behavior in investigating Democrat Hillary Clinton and its probe into possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia to tilt the 2016 presidential election.

Comey, as head of the FBI, should not have been leaking information or even discussing details of ongoing FBI investigations. Comey made a circus of the Hillary investigations and then did the same thing to the Trump investigations. Comey has the time hold media interviews and write a book, but neither of which requires him to testify under oath. How convenient.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Comey’s IG report will come out too and then he and McCabe can argue with each other on CNN who the liar and leaker is (it’s actually both of them).

But we are only seeing punishment for lying so far on one side. Now that’s its proven McCabe lied and leaked is anything actually going to be done about it legally?

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

I’m sorry, did Comey say anything worth something?

-15 ( +2 / -17 )

bass4funk:

I’m sorry, did Comey say anything worth something?

Obviously he did, because his comments have got the orange guy (with the white half-moons under the eyes) frothing at the mouth.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Obviously he did, because his comments have got the orange guy (with the white half-moons under the eyes) frothing at the mouth.

Rightfully so. I’m not a lawyer, but this is very bad, if this can happen to the Presidents personal lawyer, they can do this to anyone, then why have a lawyer in the first place? Dershowitz, Turley, Napolitano all of these senior top lawyer/Judges are appalled by this. Dershowitz a liberal Hillary supporter, Turley doesn’t say which way he swings politically and Napolitano a libertarian think Mueller went way overboard on this.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

That Trump finds reason for fear in Comey, an incompetent but honorable man, displays how far adrift from reality Trump is. He has far, far more serious threats to deal with. Ironic with Comey's book not eve yet officially released, it's already been overshadowed. But then, he can't get angry at Cohen, who did in fact kiss the ring.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Congress just sent a letter to Rosenstein directing him to give them both the classified and unclassified Comey memos in unredacted form by Monday.

there will be the proof Comey leaked classified information as Rosenstein will have to admit those are classified as an excuse for trying not to release them.

Woukdnt surprise me if Rosenstein is impeached by congress.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

I’m not a lawyer

Did that need to be said? Lol

but this is very bad,

Yes, having a president conspiring with his attorney to commit crimes is bad.

if this can happen to the Presidents personal lawyer,

There was a whole legal process the FBI had to go through to get the raid approved. To claim its all just one massive conspiracy against Trump is just loony. We're talking numerous Republicans, interviewed by Trump and appointed by Sessions, would have had to approve of the raids. I guess Donny again failed to hire the best people? Lol

5 ( +7 / -2 )

“Rosenstein has said in recent private conversations that history will prove he did the right thing by firing Comey in May 2017, claiming that the American people do not have all the facts about what led to his decision to write the memo that led to Comey's dismissal, the sources said.”

yet Rosenstein is allowing mueller to investigate Trump for firing Comey? When he himself agrees with it? I think the liberal dream of “obstruction of justice” just died too. Buried next to Russian collusion.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Except they aren’t doing that. They have to exclude any Trump records.

Unless there is evidence of a crime.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

We are still waiting for the arrest of President "Crooked" Hillary for her terrible crimes. Trump promised this and (like the wall) has failed. No wall, no Hillary arrest and looks like no Comey arrest.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Comey doesnt behave like a professional . The libs arelio izung him because hes against trump but his behaviour - and theirs- is shabby. This was an FBI director?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

lionizing, that is.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Comey doesnt behave like a professional

He's no longer one. What is the problem?

1 ( +5 / -4 )

What is Trump going to do? Fire him?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Luckily Trump has another 6.5 years to finish the wall and get all the people arrested who deserve to be. Unfortunately I think he is too compassionate to really arrest Hillary. She is also more valuable politically to Repubs out of jail as the face of Democratic Party than as a martyr in prison.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

yet Rosenstein is allowing mueller to investigate Trump for firing Comey? When he himself agrees with it?

Have you read the letter of recommendation Rosenstein wrote, Black? Its contents solely involved Comney's behavior regarding the Clinton email investigations - and zero to do with Russian involvement in US elections along with increasingly likely Trump-group knowledge and/or aid. That is what Mueller is investigating. Wanna throw Benghazi in there, too?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

he is too compassionate to really arrest Hillary

No, he failed at his promise to arrest Hillary. He promised just like he promised to arrest Obama for wiretapping and ladders go over walls anyway. He said he would build the wall from day one (2,000 miles x 50 ft). And who is going to pay for this wall?

that tells me everything I need to know about you.

What do you know about me?

Comey is making fun of Trump and Trump and his cultists are seething. Especially about the pee tape.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

in his official capacity as Comey’s boss he recommended Comey be fired. based on that recommendation plus his own personal observations of comey, Trump fired the guy.

then they guy who sent you a letter saying fire someone opens an investigation into why you followed his advice?

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Comey was fired for incompetence and conduct. Rosenstein not even claiming he shouldn’t have been fired. And it’s not like Comey was actually doing the Russian investigation himself or that it stopped when he was fired. So What was obstructed? Everything has continued even until this date.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Comey was fired for incompetence and conduct.

OK so? When is Trump going to arrest him? Trump is just crying like a big baby.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

all of these senior top lawyer/Judges are appalled by this

Appalled in what way? Below are comments from Napolitano. He is perhaps more appalled that there is evidence of a crime than of the actions of Mueller.

"There must be some evidence presented to a federal judge here in New York City sufficient to persuade that judge to sign a search warrant to permit the FBI in broad daylight to raid an attorney’s office, particularly when that attorney has one client and it happens to be the president of the United States. That evidence would have to be such as to persuade a neutral observer, the federal judge, that it is more likely than not, that among these seized documents is evidence of crimes by Mr Cohen or Mr Cohen and the president."

2 ( +3 / -1 )

He will be indicted if the IG investigation identifies he committed crimes that demand it. Investigation into him still ongoing as you liberals love to say.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Mr. Bone Spurs seems to think that he can bluff and bluster his way out of his current problems. That may have worked for him for 71 years, but he shouldn't have run for office if he didn't want his affairs to be part of the public discourse.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Did President Spanky forget he's in charge of the executive branch?

If there actually was evidence Comey had committed a crime, he would already be arrested. What we're seeing here is not an articulation of policy, what we're seeing is yet another "DO SOMETHING" meltdown, that's all.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Did that need to be said? Lol

No, but unlike most liberals, I don’t claim to know the law or know better than the lawyers which are more or less politicians with a law degree though.

Yes, having a president conspiring with his attorney to commit crimes is bad.

You must deeply loathe and despise the Clintons then.

There was a whole legal process the FBI had to go through to get the raid approved.

Yeah, so I heard.....

https://youtu.be/I_oI2cYi480

To claim its all just one massive conspiracy against Trump is just loony.

Liberals keep saying that the same way the GOP did in 1998 when liberals were saying the exact same thing.

We're talking numerous Republicans, interviewed by Trump and appointed by Sessions, would have had to approve of the raids.

You make it seem that Republicans are in someway immune to corruption. I appreciate that gesture, but alas......

I guess Donny again failed to hire the best people? Lol

No, you just have a corrupt cop that started going wide and far over his mandate. Don’t get what a failed porn star has to do with Russian collusion, but if the swamp and the establishment need to find something to stick to the President....if it works....hey...

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Is this why Trump hides his taxes?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

No, you just have a corrupt cop

How is Comey corrupt? Just because you don't like him. Like with President Hillary I don't see him in jail. If Comey is not in jail then it's all on Trump. What's going on? Same excuse as no jail for President Hillary? Or maybe he's not corrupt? He's just making Trump whine and squirm like a fat old orange cry baby? I have to see steel bars in order to believe someone is corrupt. And I don't see any with Comey and we probably never will...like with President Hillary.

He will be indicted if

If what? What's this if? Is if the same thing with arresting president Hillary? It also sounds like a familiar if with building the wall. The wall will be built if...(and what?). But my favorite if is Ladders will be used if the wall is built. IF? Is that some kind of joke?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Bring back the tenure of office act. It will make a more stable cabinet and extras. If senate has to vote to hire nominated secretaries and other appointees, why doesn't the senate have to vote to fire them? It should work both ways.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

No, but unlike most liberals, I don’t claim to know the law or know better than the lawyers which are more or less politicians with a law degree though.

lololol Of course you do. Every day you comment on articles as if you are some sort of lawyer. From time to time you even talk up your journalistic bonafides and get all offended when called into question. :p

You must deeply loathe and despise the Clintons then.

lololol Still talking about the Clintons? I would be too, kicked the pants off the obese muppet in office now. Trump fans ccan't go a day without talking about the Clintons. hahaha

You make it seem that Republicans are in someway immune to corruption. I appreciate that gesture, but alas......

Ahhh,I see. So, Republicans are more corrupt than the tub of lard that refuses to pay his taxes, and pays hush money to women after having affairs while his wife is nursing their child? Totally believable. :D

No, you just have a corrupt cop that started going wide and far over his mandate

Mueller is a corrupt cop? Prove it. Hilarious coming from the same group of knuckle draggers blaming blacks for getting shot by cops.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

"...while American people demand prosecution of Trump"

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

and I demand prosecution of Trump he's a lair said he's going to protect Americans

yet he ignores their victimization

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Mueller is as corrupt as they come

No jail cells = no corruption. I'm starting to wonder if some of the Trump supporters here are actually Russian bots. Either than or they are in a Trump cult following.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Republicans scream 'Mueller is corrupt', with no evidence of corruption, then whine 'you can't call Trump corrupt until the investigation is done'.

Extreme hypocrisy.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I wouldn't say Republicans as such. Just people who have a total disregard for the truth (though obviously there's considerable crossover there).

Fair enough.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

good

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Dictators get to use the courts to harass and hound those whom they dislike, presidents do not.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

He is not tasked with finding something to "convict" the President on collusion, but investigating people associated with the Trump campaign (including Trump, obviously enough), which he has been doing. Cohen is most certainly associated with the campaign, and is going to have the greatest difficulty convincing people that he has done nothing illegal. He's in a heap of trouble, regardless of whether your hoped for pardon from Trump materializes.

Ok, so let’s squeeze him since I can’t find anything on the President, let me bait him into firing me and go and look for something anything unrelated. I need to justify my purpose and can’t go back with nothing.

To investigate and charge Cohen is neither corrupt nor inappropriate, no matter how much it angers Donald Trump. Trump has been acting like a guilty man all along, and now he's just acting more guilty.

No, he’s been acting annoneyed and I don’t blame him one bit.

Not that his word is worth a damn, but Cohen continues to insist that he's never been to Prague. Once again, what's suspected is a meeting with Russians.

Over a year, still nothing, so what’s left....nothing else worked, so let’s hope the porn star or at the very minimum see if we can stick one of them with a campaign fraud charge. This is looking mighty bleak.

The history of Trump people in this area is not happy: denials about Russian meetings so often turn out to be false (Kushner, Trump Jr, . So it's going to be interesting to see if it can be proved that he did go to Prague after all. That may not be very difficult.

I see and still nothing in the slightest that can concretely say, there is evidence of wrongdoing. Unethical you never know, but blatant crimes, nothing. Anyway, as long as the GOP keep the Senate even if the House goes to the Dems, Trump should weather this storm just fine.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

there is evidence of wrongdoing

Yes, so why does Trump want Mueller and Comey arrested? Also, Obama and President Hillary?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Ok, so let’s squeeze him since I can’t find anything on the President

I never said Trump was corrupt. It's a fact he can't fulfill any of his promises (no wall, returning to TPP, no President Hillary arrest, and many others). I think he looks stupid and he is very thin skinned. I don't think he is fit to be president because he can't take criticism and he just wants to be loved (WAAAHHHH). He is a big fat old orange cry baby AND THIS IS A FACT.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I am not a Trump fan - he will no doubt bear the consequences of his actions one day. I do respect Comey’s achievements and past career but I do think he handled the release of information about Clinton badly. I also think he showed lack of backbone at the time Trump privately demanded his loyalty - as I understand it he basically remained silent or replied with an indirect rebuttal that he would be “ honest” when an unequivocally clear statement was called for - giving him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he was trying to show the President the respect that office normally deserves - on the other hand maybe he was trying to protect his job by remaining silent - of course that failed. And now here we have his revenge served up publicly with a hastily released book right at the time Mueller is looking into Trump’s affairs. And apparently written to exact revenge and maximise publicity and proceeds. To me this is a self serving end to a distinguished career, beneath the level of respect he would otherwise deserve for everything he has done for his country. And references to Trump’s similarity to a Mafia boss revealed little we did not suspect about Trump but did reveal an unpleasant side to Comey. I doubt that Trump will bring charges against Comey or that they will succeed, but Comey should not be releasing information about his discussions with the President in this way. If he truly believed that he ought to have resigned on the spot.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

nishikat - Yes, so why does Trump want Mueller and Comey arrested? Also, Obama and President Hillary?

OK, you hate everything Trump. Haters gotta hate. Any comments concerning the attached article's topic?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

OK, you hate everything Trump.

When did I say I hate Trump? Please quote it! He is a big fat orange baby, which is a fact. I do laugh at him and his followers for all his failures (and that's pretty much 100%), then they bring up President "Crooked" Hillary and blame all of Trump's failings on her and the shadow government. I don't think he's mentally (of physically) fit to be president. But Trump followers are cultists thinking he will build that great wall and have President Hillary arrested. And he's going to try to have Comey arrested. That's a laugh.

Trump: Hey Folks, I'm wearing the finest garments ever made.

Comey: You are naked, Sir!

Trump: I want this man prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

The sooner we get this mob boss out office the sooner we can sleep well at night. We could take comfort that tomorrow the World will still be there.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

i am sorry Mr Trump he is as good a citizen as you are; so how can you ask he prosecuted; if he is to be prosecuted you also deserve to be prosecuted for your extra constitutional functioning , any man of common sense may say; law is common to all; when he is out of office he is free to tell the world all facts how can you gag sir, my dear friend mr trump.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Comey's book has details of the obstruction of justice we have been looking for:

Comey said Obama’s public statements about the investigation “jeopardized” the investigation’s credibility in multiple interviews and seemed to absolve Clinton of any crime before FBI investigators completed their work.

“Contributing to this problem, regrettably, was President Obama. He had jeopardized the Department of Justice’s credibility in the investigation by saying in a 60 Minutes interview on Oct. 11, 2015, that Clinton’s email use was “a mistake” that had not endangered national security,” Comey writes. “Then on Fox News on April 10, 2016, he said that Clinton may have been careless but did not do anything to intentionally harm national security, suggesting that the case involved overclassification of material in the government.”

“President Obama is a very smart man who understands the law very well. To this day, I don’t know why he spoke about the case publicly and seemed to absolve her before a final determination was made. If the president had already decided the matter, an outside observer could reasonably wonder, how on earth could his Department of Justice do anything other than follow his lead.”

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

This book is awesome....for Comey haters:

"So, although we were not going to prejudge the result, we started the Clinton investigation aware that it was unlikely to be a case that the career prosecutors at the Department of justice would prosecute."

Not going to prejudge, but we STARTED the investigation aware we werent going to prosecute??= the exact definition of "prejudging a result".

I hope Comey tears Trumptraitor's playhouse DOWN! Slam the hammer on Spanky Don!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

It's just too funny that one of the most persistent liars in history calls someone else a liar! To be fair though, not that I want to be, Trump doesn't actually know that truth and lies are two different things, and he doesn't distinguish between them at all. So it's a simplification to refer to Trump's incessant lies. On the other hand, not knowing what a 'lie' is makes it impossible for Trump to refer to others' lies. Either way a ludicrous comment.
