"It is my opinion that many of the leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media," he wrote the morning after his return home.

We should always be suspicious of anyone who proposes that a factual proposition (regardless of its actual truth value) is subject to their own opinion.

Looking forward to the Special Counsels prosecution of the Obama holdovers who are leaking classified information to the press. The resistance is nothing more than an attempted coup. Go get them Mueller.

-23 ( +2 / -25 )

When you have something to hide, you attack the free press.

21 ( +24 / -3 )

Or the Free press will attack someone they don't like.

-29 ( +3 / -32 )

I have a high level of disdain for Trump yet I have no opinion on this and have yet to see facts. What I would like to see is let Robert Mueller get on with the independent investigation, present all of this in a public forum (such as C-Span in the U.S.) and move quickly. If he is guilty then out he goes...if not, then move on. The longer this drags on the worse it is for everyone.

I find Trump having his daughter and son-in-law in positions of power to be a huge conflict of interest and disgusting. I am surprised there are not more people lashing out against this.

Trump was right on one thing: Washington is a swamp - the problem is he is part of it and he needs to be drained along with alot of other folks there.

20 ( +20 / -0 )

I find Trump having his daughter and son-in-law in positions of power to be a huge conflict of interest and disgusting. I am surprised there are not more people lashing out against this.

Actually his daughter and son-in-law are the ones that keep everything running. I suspect the same is true with the family business. I think things would be much worse if they weren't around. Like adults who have to take care of their highly functioning parent's with alzheimers, they are needed to make sure that he is not walking down the street in the middle of the night in his pajamas.

Unfortunately, they are also attempting to rob the coffers blind. In addition to Trump's history of shady business practices, I believe that Kushner's father is serving time in jail as we speak for shady dealings. With the closeness of these two families, the apple probably doesn't fall too far from the tree.

bass4funk: "Or the Free press will attack someone they don't like."

Ah, the schoolyard sandbox retort.

19 ( +21 / -2 )

I do not like the fact that Trump has his daughter and son-in-law as top aides in the White House. But given the immense amount of illegal leaking of supposedly confidential information from within the intelligence agencies and by deep state employees in the White House I now see the wisdom of having the people that you most trust working for you - regardless of who they are.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

As long as ye olde presse is free, then attack away they should. Erm, that is basically their job, no?

@silvafan, the elder Kushner was imprisoned for a year back when Chris Christie was a New Jersey prosecutor. Ivanka and Jared are getting more public scrutiny than Eric and Don Jr., but those latter two are now running the Trump empire and holding private meetings at RNC headquarters. A fishy swamp you might say.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

bass4funk: "Or the Free press will attack someone they don't like."

Ah, the schoolyard sandbox retort.

Which shouldn't be a surprise given who posted it.

15 ( +16 / -1 )

Hillary's mails get leaked.

Republicans: who cares about the leak, the contents of the mails are what matters.

Informartion on Trump's people gets leaked.

Republicans: Punish the leakers! And it's all fake!!

17 ( +19 / -2 )

Is yet another Trump insider going to have to resign as a result of contact with Russia? This has been a good way for us to eliminate some of his cabinet.

And Mueller hasn't even started yet.

19 ( +20 / -1 )

Or maybe he might not have to, but from the looks of it, I doubt it.

-22 ( +0 / -22 )

@Strangerland - Agree with your post completely and the contrary is true as well. It seems the minefield of U.S. politics is so polarized it cannot be fixed. As an older U.S. citizen, primarily watching this from Japan, I find it sad that the populace is being drawn into one side or the other, which allows politicians of both parties to screw the American people. The gap between rich and poor has radically increased, regardless of who holds the keys to the executive office or who runs Congress. The losers in all of this are the American people, especially the working middle class.

@SuperLib - Will a Trump insider need to resign? Who knows? As stated above I would like Mueller to get moving on this and bring this all about in a public forum, with the factual evidence (recordings, written communication, whatever) and let the cards fall where they may. I think Trump's daughter and son in law should be out regardless of the outcome (huge conflict of interest).

12 ( +13 / -1 )

If the shoe had been on the other foot, the Republicans would be sayin' a lot more than just lock her up about Hillary.

Just keep following the lies and the money.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Classic conservative: Everyone else's fault but the person responsible. Nothing like being responsible for your own actions, like the "welfare queens" you all like to spew about.

Welfare queens? Liberal California is doing such a fine job with them. Hey, been to SF lately?

Trump's tweets have been far worse for the U.S. than Obama or either Clinton.

Oh, I seriously doubt that not even close.

Partially due to the substance of the tweets and partly because he spends more time watching TV trying to figure out who to tweet about than actually running the country.

We could say the same about the MSM and the Dems spending too much time and every breath on Russia, Russia, Russia. Think about it over 90% of CNN media coverage recently has been about Russia that is astounding, so basically, they couldn't care about covering anything else, No wonder more and more people are cutting their cable bills.

That's when he's not off at one of his golf courses funneling taxpayer money into his own company.

Now the left are starting their whining again about that? So let me get this straight if anything they feel that is close to their heart and it is taxpayer funded it's ok, if it's from someone they "hate" then it's an abuse of the system??

ROFL

-24 ( +0 / -24 )

The leak of Hillary's emails only hurt herself and gave voters insight into all the dirtiness that she was involved with or that was going on around her. The leaks against Trump are hurting national security and also hurting our relationship with the UK and our potential relationship with Russia.

It is a sad state of affairs when the transition team of a new president has to talk about making a backdoor channel just so their own government cant monitor every single phone call they make and politicize it.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

The WP sat on this information since December because they learned about it from an anonymous letter.

It was only released last week because the WP was able to corroborate the information.

So, it is hardly fake news or fake reporters, the standard defense when information is not favorable to Trump. The article raises serious questions and should be looked at. It should not be dismissed.

Merkel is right not to trust America. I don't trust America.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

The leak of Hillary's emails only hurt herself

Huhh? Hillary leaked her own emails?

It is a sad state of affairs when the transition team of a new president has to talk about making a backdoor channel just so their own government cant monitor every single phone call they make and politicize it.

Another conspiracy theory to justify Trump's actions? Imagination and fantasy at its extreme.

Why not focus on what is happening here and now? Where is the outrage?

13 ( +13 / -0 )

The leak of Hillary's emails only hurt herself and gave voters insight into all the dirtiness that she was involved with

The leak of Trump's minion's information only hurts them, and gives the public insight into all the dirtiness they are involved .

The leaks against Trump are hurting national security and also hurting our relationship with the UK and our potential relationship with Russia.

The leaks against Trump are hurting Trump and his minions, and exposing their relationship with Russia.

Sorry, but you can't have it both ways. You guys LOVED it when Hillary's stuff got leaked, and now you're not liking it when the shoe is on the other foot. Your attempts at obfuscation are transparent, and only serve to expose your hypocrisy.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

No, as I said the Trump leaks hurt National Security and our relationships with our foreign allies and others. As Hillary was never President, the leaks of her and Podesta's dirt only had impact to the people who did it (them).

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

What would the benefit of a secret Russian connection be? (I mean after swinging the election)

1 ( +2 / -1 )

People allowing the media to continue to spread this no evidence Russia nonsense is just allowing other countries to be openly disrespectful to the office of the President. So if you arent American I get that, you dont care. But if you are, you should be ashamed that you are hurting our country just because its 'cool' or 'fun' to talk crap on Twitter or in a newspaper.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Musta been a fun Saturday in the White House as they attempted to hash out their talking, which turned out to be, "Okay, sure, this happened, but it's entirely normal."

No: It is not normal at all, as will eventually be clarified. And they were forced to admit it happened in part because the Russians know it happened, and lying would give them further leverage over the administration (one wonders what else they know about Trump that we don't).

Jared is Trump's consigliere and is family, and Trump will fight viciously to keep him, but he will lose that fight, and when Jared is eventually fired, Ivanka will likely have to go, too, depriving Trump of his innermost circle.

It's going to be an interesting summer.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

you should be ashamed that you are hurting our country just because its 'cool' or 'fun' to talk crap on Twitter or in a newspaper.

If you are American, you should be ashamed of yourself for being dismissive of potential abuses of the constitution.

No one in the intelligence community or FBI seems interested to find the leakers

They are not interested in chasing leakers of non-classified information, i.e., where there have been no violation of the law. It is a waste of time when you have more constitutionally important things to look at, like abuse of power by the president.

Leakers are pushed to leak information because what they see disturbs them so much, they know there is a problem and leaking is the only way for the constitution to be respected.

the newspapers will definitely print anything they get even with no sources at all.

Wrong. Misinformation at best.

Your information does not have a source (unless feelings are a source of information.

The news that came out about Kushner was sourced and reported by respected journalists who have been tested over time. The newspapers are printing newsworthy information. I expect Mueller already knows about this information and is seeking the truth. He will prosecute if there is a violation of the law.

As a U.S. citizen, I am grateful to know who we are dealing with in the WH and that the questions are being asked and made public. You are willing to hide your head in the sand and complain that everyone else isn't doing the same.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

It is sad to see how the integrity and dignity of the attacks on a president of the US have plunged since Trump took over.

So all the left loons have to do as well as the MSM is back off, take a break, get a life and try to return to normal.

I just wish we could get back to more genteel, intellectual and constructive criticism of presidents.

The left I think at this point and time are completely incapable of that, really!

-20 ( +0 / -20 )

The report doesn't have to be fabricated. America and American officials have "back-channel" communications with a number of countries, and always have. I'm not a fan of Trump (or any other politician), but this is another story which is spun way out of proportion.

Hillary has met with the Russians on any number of occasions, and the Clinton Foundation has taken tens of millions of dollars in donations from nation states. And no one remembers the hot mike gaff Obama made with Putin some years back: "After my election, I have more flexibility"? What has been "business as usual" with politicians from both parties going back decades has now become a faux pas?

This "Russiagate" nonsense (and it is nonsense) is a large waste of everyone's time and imagination, and such would be much better spent on real news and real problems. When hatred gets in the way of objectivity, things have a way of getting nasty real quick.

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

People allowing the media to continue to spread this no evidence Russia nonsense is just allowing other countries to be openly disrespectful to the office of the President.

If only the media could be controlled. Dissent could be silenced. Prominent journalists and critics muzzled. Bit like that other country that didn't interfere, oh no siree, in the US elections.

So if you arent American I get that, you dont care. But if you are, you should be ashamed that you are hurting our country just because its 'cool' or 'fun' to talk crap on Twitter or in a newspaper.

Or if you are American, you could be ashamed that the Trump administration has sullied the reputation of the US at home and globally.

Besides, real "patriots" question the motives of government - it's the sign of a healthy democracy. Government has to answer to the people. Not other way round.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

I just wish we could get back to more genteel, intellectual and constructive criticism of presidents.

The left I think at this point and time are completely incapable of that, really!

Umm, the use of the word genteel in the context of Trump?

A person must show respect to receive it. At a minimum, I would like him to respect the constitution. That is not too much to ask.

Then there are the hurtful policies in the name of conservatism.

Cutting 1/4 of foodstamp budget? Sure, it saves a little money, but at what cost? Some people can't eat now because a conservative wants to tighten the screws?

Food is somewhat important to life. it is a necessity. The savings will be spent on what? More prisons, tax breaks for those who don't need it? Certainly not the deficit or things that benefit the country.

Besides, foodstamps is money spent on the economy, specifically food producers. If you want to address foodstamp concerns, make sure that people can only buy unprepared food (it costs less and reflects economic inputs, e.g., no work = more time to prepare food), tie the foodstamps to an ID to prevent fraud/selling of foodstamps. I have no problem with the government spending money on food, it is minuscule compared to the rest of the budget and economy.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

the Trump administration has sullied the reputation of the US at home and globally.

The US media with its constant barrage of unproven speculation from anonymous sources has done that. As far as I am aware neither Trump nor his team have even been accused of an actual crime much less convicted with any evidence.

-19 ( +0 / -19 )

The wheels are starting to come off Trumpteam's grandiose dream of making loadsa moola with "the Amazing Deal of the Century" by talking turkey with America's bogeyman, "Vlad the Impaler". To this end, their cunning plan hatched before the election to create back channels to circumvent opposition from the anti-Russian Washington ruling circles is rapidly unraveling as the Deep State, using its FBI to torpedo Trump's amazing vision of a USRussian dealmaking axis, methodically takes apart the Trump administration so Amerika can get back to business as usual with President Pence.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The US media with its constant barrage of unproven speculation from anonymous sources has done that. As far as I am aware neither Trump nor his team have even been accused of an actual crime much less convicted with any evidence.

The die hard Trump supporters have also enabled the current state of affairs with their speculation, falsehoods and denial that there's anything amiss.

The morass the US finds itself in can be fixed. It will be down to the dogged pursuit of honest politicians, media and activists. There is honesty, if you can get through all the alt-right fake news and ostriches out there.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

The US media with its constant barrage of unproven speculation from anonymous sources

Yes, your president would never do that would he? I mean, without solid evidence he'd never accuse a man of not being american, or tapping his phones, or the weather being sunny when it was rainy, or voter fraud etc. would he?

11 ( +11 / -0 )

The US media with its constant barrage of unproven speculation from anonymous sources has done that.

Black, by not denying this particular story, the WH has acknowledged that it is fact.

As far as I am aware neither Trump nor his team have even been accused of an actual crime much less convicted with any evidence.

Flynn is toast, and he knows it. The number of crimes he's clearly committed amounts to four. He is now negotiating with investigators in Congress to reduce the punishment he'll receive as much as he can, but eventually, he will be forced to testify - and when he does, much evidence will be revealed. That is precisely why he is dragging this out.

Whether the same happens to Jared remains unclear.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

there he goes again, live in the world of his own belief. things not go his way will become " fake" or "lie". hopeless that he lives to this age and still act like everyone will believe whatever dumb excuses he came up with.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

"Trump's National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster refused to talk about the allegations, but said that generally speaking, "we have back-channel communication with a number of countries... I would not be concerned about it."

"Back-channel' is something that governments set up. But Kushner and Flynn were not in the government. Yet they were, or expected to be, receiving privileged and highly classified information from US intelligence officials. They wanted to initiate dealings with a foreign power, Russia. That would have been illegal under the Logan Act, since they were still private citizens.

So they needed a secret channel. They went to the Russian ambassador, seeking to use Russian secure channels (which turned out not to be secure, which is why they got caught). They were also to lie in their security clearance documents about this and other Russian contacts.

Bottom line: Private individuals, with expected access to privileged, classified information, and lying to the FBI, sought to work around and perhaps against the United States government. It wasn't a back-channel, it was espionage since it wasn't coordinated with the United States, and was intended to make use of classified data gotten under false pretenses. Luckily, the Russians forbade it, but not for lack of trying on Kushner and Flynn's part.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Or the Free press will attack someone they don't like. or you can control the press like China / Russia and become a communist/dictator state, personally I prefer a free press.

"Europe can no longer completely rely on its longstanding British and US allies" (G7member head of state)

EU has a population of over 510 million in 28 states.

With the insecurity provided by the US at the moment all sort of mishaps are programmed. (My opinion)

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Nepotism is rarely a good idea in politics. It would however be very satisfying if it turns out that one of Trump's family members (wife, daughter, son, son-in-law etc) ends up causing his downfall. Trump seems to confuse owning a company with owning a country and actually thinks he can do both. Does he really believe he can call every news item he dislikes or disagrees with fake news? Come on America, many would hope you're better than that.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

The die hard Trump supporters have also enabled the current state of affairs with their speculation, falsehoods and denial that there's anything amiss.

Really, when I turn on the TV and read the news, the hysteria is all coming from the left, all of it. Trump supporters are tuning it out because we all know what the left is trying to do and that's sad because it's gotten to a point where reporters lost their way and feel like their job is not to inform, but to drive an agenda and that is to stomp a mud hole in this administration.

-20 ( +0 / -20 )

including explosive reports about Jared Kushner, his indispensable aide-de-camp.

Yess, you Trumpsters are doing a terrific job tuning it out. Its tremendous, I tell you. Tremendous.

it's gotten to a point where reporters lost their way and feel like their job is not to inform, but to drive an agenda and that is to stomp a mud hole in this administration.

Yes, the media really has gotten out of hand with all their facts and statistics. They should know better than to inject facts into discourse.

Blacklabel: "The US media with its constant barrage of unproven speculation from anonymous sources has done that. "

Hahaha... says a guy who supports the man who refuses to back up his wiretapping statements without any evidence, and who claims 2 million -- no wait, FIVE million now! -- votes were fraudulent because he is "more popular" while his approval plummets to new lows.

bass4funk: "Really, when I turn on the TV and read the news, the hysteria is all coming from the left, all of it. "

Says the guy who supports Hannity's conspiracies, which have earned him a "vacation" it is speculating he won't return from -- same as O'Reilly -- because his sponsors are jumping ship. And you still believe there are WMDs in Iraq of all things!

"it's gotten to a point where reporters lost their way and feel like their job is not to inform, but to drive an agenda and that is to stomp a mud hole in this administration."

Hahaha... FOX 'news', whom you support 100% on anything, have made a laughing stock of your nation, and Trump even more sore with his direct Tweets. He's an embarrassment, and so is your nation. Why do you think the Russians couldn't contain their laughter when they got word Trump fired Comey? They literally LAUGHED and had to turn and walk away, shaking their heads. They know Trump is even stupider and more insane than they originally thought and bargained for. That's fact. But hey, you go ahead and continue to plagiarize from The National Review, bass, which is nothing but lies anyway, and claim it's the LEFT that is hysterical!

Classic.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

Simple question :

who owns Trump tower?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Republicans go on about Obama for 8 years, and call it opposition.

Democrats go on about things Trump does for 4 months, and Republicans call it hysteria.

Fake news.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Funny how the Dems want no investigation into something that happened (a murder of one of their own)

If there is any validity to it (and we're talking real validity, not Benghazi style validity), then it should be investigated.

but there are 3 separate investigations into Russia?

Amazing that you don't think collusion with foreign power isn't worth investigation. But I bet you thought we needed the 89 investigations into Hillary's emails, even though there was never any evidence that they ever got hacked or that anything untoward happened with her private email server.

Trump's wiretapping statements, while unproven

They weren't unproven, they were shown to be complete and utter fabrications. There has literally not been a single bit of evidence shown that his claims had any basis in reality, nor has any security agency said anything other than that there was no evidence that Trump tower was tapped.

Not that reality stops you from repeating that fallacy though. And the right wonders why we look down on them with disdain.

Electoral fraud was proven in multiple states

No it wasn't. The only electoral fraud found was a Trump supporter who voted twice.

Trump approval is enough that he would be reelected if the election were today

He literally has the lowest approval rating of any president ever. Many people who voted for him are having buyer's remorse, and there are republicans speaking of impeachment. You're kidding yourself if you think he could be elected again today after the past four months of abject failure.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

He literally has the lowest approval rating of any president ever.

Not quite. It's bad but not that bad (yet). Last I saw it was 40%. Check out the following for how popular W or Nixon were by the end of their terms:

http://www.gallup.com/interactives/185273/presidential-job-approval-center.aspx?g_source=WWWV7HP&g_medium=topic&g_campaign=tiles

That said, I generally agree--he's got one-term written all over his bloated, orange face.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

For this Kushner topic, it will be over by mid week and the next thing with no evidence will be leaked out to continue the narrative.

Democrats go on about things Trump does for 4 months, and Republicans call it hysteria.

I would be fine with it if there was proof he has actually done these things. Since when do newspapers just print anything they want with no evidence. Multiple stories about Comey memos no one has even seen? Its lazy journalism.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Really, when I turn on the TV and read the news, the hysteria is all coming from the left, all of it.

Infowars? Fox? Breitbart? Pizzagate?

Trump supporters are tuning it out because we all know what the left is trying to do

There's that nebulous "we" again. Does "we" and "the left" include Republicans who have spoken out against Trump. Or (ye gods) Ann Coulter?

and that's sad because it's gotten to a point where reporters lost their way and feel like their job is not to inform, but to drive an agenda and that is to stomp a mud hole in this administration.

You can't stomp a mud hole in a mud hole. It would be a messy matryoshka, at the very most.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Not quite. It's bad but not that bad (yet). Last I saw it was 40%. Check out the following for how popular W or Nixon were by the end of their terms:

Ahh yeah, I meant at this point in his presidency.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I would be fine with it if there was proof he has actually done these things.

How do you know there's not? Are you part of the internal investigations?

It may not be the family or the murky politics what does for Trump in the end. There's a lot of even uglier stuff out there. And I don't just mean tax returns.

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

A reminder to interested parties; The Federalist; founded and published by Ben Domenech. No stranger to controversy. Plagiarism and payments to big up the Malaysian Government in print.

Hmmm.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

29 confirmed fake news stories against Trump, his people or his policies.

The Federalist is hardly an unbiased or reliable source, but at any rate:

1) Several of the items are no fake and the federalist even acknowledges this in several places. Just read in the "Fascism Forever," the "Mobilization of the National Guard Story," or the "DOJ prosecutes a woman for laughing story."

All of these happened. If you take issue with how it was reported then fine, but it certainly doesn't make it fake news.

2)The majority of these stories are minor. Absolutely nothing on the scale of claiming Obama is Kenyan. Or Muslim. Or illegally wiretapping the Trump.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

hysteria is all coming from the left, all of it. Trump supporters are tuning it out because we all know what the left is trying to do and that's sad because it's gotten to a point where reporters lost their way and feel like their job is not to inform, but to drive an agenda and that is to stomp a mud hole in this administration.

Have you ever watched Fox news? There is a huge difference between their news stories and those written by the WP.

There is no hysteria (which is a sexist term by the way), these are fair questions asked of a known liar who is running the country. The only hysteria is over the things coming out of Trump's mouth and the policies he is adopting. We are perfectly rational to question why he treats Russia better than common Americans, Saudis better than EU allies, the constitution over his own self-interest, lies over the truth, and on an on....

I would be fine with it if there was proof he has actually done these things.

Yes, like telling the country he fired Comey for the Russia investigation. That is a fact from the horse's mouth saying he obstructed justice, which is a crime. It doesn't matter if that crime is unrelated to Russia collusion or the investigation shows there was no collusion. The same thing happened with the Whitewater investigation. It went on for years until someone came forward with a stained dress.... But that was OK, because the GoP was challenging a Dem.

There are many questions that may or may not lead to proof of additional crimes. A rational person would not give Trump a pass on those questions just because Trump tries to pull a jedi mind trick. His campaign had too many unusual connections to Russia, which everyone lied about by the way, to not look at it. Maybe they were just stupid, but even stupidity still needs to be looked at.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Not quite. It's bad but not that bad (yet). Last I saw it was 40%. Check out the following for how popular W or Nixon were by the end of their terms:

Trump looks a cert to make it a GOP sweep of the bottom three positions.

Surely he couldn't sink so far into that swamp he passes Richard Nixon?

Go Trump!

7 ( +7 / -0 )

For this Kushner topic, it will be over by mid week and the next thing with no evidence will be leaked out to continue the narrative.

Like the investigations into Russian meddling and possible collusion blew by in a week? Again, complex issues take time to investigate.

Democrats go on about things Trump does for 4 months, and Republicans call it hysteria.

I would be fine with it if there was proof he has actually done these things.

Why are you in such a rush to shut down the investigative bodies that will provide the evidence you seem to want?

Since when do newspapers just print anything they want with no evidence.

Since never.

Multiple stories about Comey memos no one has even seen? Its lazy journalism.

Nobody has seen the memos except the multiple, unconnected sources. Just because something had not been seen doesn't make it non-existant. Gravity comes to mind.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Sure, look into all these things I have no problem with that. But when Hannity tries to look into the murder of a DNC staffer, that is not allowed oh no. He has to be removed from the air and his advertisers are attacked until they decide they want no part of it.

The problem I have is that the media uses the speculative articles to try to pass the part where they have to prove anything. Example: Because a newspaper wrote an article about it, the Comey memo is TRUE and it is proof that Trump obstructed justice, which is proof he needs to be impeached. Ok, but person who wrote the article, did you actually see the memo and read it yourself and confirm its authenticity by asking Comey if he stands by what it said? well no...just publish it and hope someone else uses it to start making baseless accusations.

Sure, look into all these things I have no problem with that. But when Hannity tries to look into the murder of a DNC staffer, that is not allowed oh no. He has to be removed from the air and his advertisers are attacked until they decide they want no part of it.

Welcome to the real. That's what happens. We don't have to regulate speech, people vote with their pocket books. It is a natural consequence that when folks threaten to boycott companies advertising on Hannity, Hannity will get pulled. This works the other way around as well.

Also, let's not forget the young man's parents. They disavowed with Hannity's conspiracy theory and asked him to knock it off. Did he?

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Sure, look into all these things I have no problem with that.

So why are you constantly claiming there is nothing to investigate since the investigation haven't released any evidence?

But when Hannity tries to look into the murder of a DNC staffer, that is not allowed oh no. He has to be removed from the air and his advertisers are attacked until they decide they want no part of it.

Let's see, the police have already investigated that murder. Hannity was not investigating a murder, he was pushing a conspiracy theory in an attempt to obfuscate.

He was removed from the air because he was promoting patently untrue stories. His sponsors saw the ship was sinking so jumped. Same thing that happened to O'Reilly.

Why cant conservatives follow that thing about taking responsibility for your actions they are always spouting? It wasn't Hannity making huge mistakes, it was a nebulous "they." It's not Trump's mouth and lack of transparency, it's the MSM.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

he was pushing a conspiracy theory in an attempt to obfuscate.

Kinda like Russian 'collusion' right? Its been really helpful to the Dems to help obfuscate and draw attention away from things that really matter like jobs, infrastructure, the economy, taxes, health care, etc.

Let's see, the police have already investigated that murder.

yet conveniently found nothing other than a robbery of someone who wasnt robbed of anything. So its still an open investigation, just like Russia.

He was removed from the air because he was promoting patently untrue stories. His sponsors saw the ship was sinking so jumped.

Hasnt been removed, he will be back tomorrow. His sponsors didnt see anything, they were harassed and blackmailed by a politically funded media group. Whose political goal is to remove conservatives from TV through shaming their advertisers and with a secondary motive to halt any further investigation into this specific murder.

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

when Hannity tries to look into the murder of a DNC staffer, that is not allowed oh no. He has to be removed from the air and his advertisers are attacked until they decide they want no part of it.

I literally know nothing of the case which you're talking about, but after you guys have been screaming 'wolf' for the past eight years, you shouldn't be surprised that we're skeptical that there is anything worth getting excited about.

His sponsors didnt see anything, they were harassed and blackmailed by a politically funded media group. Whose political goal is to remove conservatives from TV through shaming their advertisers and with a secondary motive to halt any further investigation into this specific murder.

The Republicans made such lobbying acceptable when they pushed and passed Citizens United. Again, I have no idea if what you are saying is true or not, but even if it is, you seem to be frustrated about the left wing using right-wing tactics. Don't expect us to feel bad for you.

Hannity tries to look into the murder of a DNC staffer

So how many people has Hillary had killed?

That's how I know he hasnt done at least 29 things the media said he did.

Well, he sure hasn't built the wall and made the Mexicans pay or had Hillary arrested like he promised. The Muslim ban is not quite working out, isn't it?

7 ( +7 / -0 )

With several top intelligence officials going on the news Friday to support the story, it looks real to me.

Meanwhile, Trump's recent overseas trip may have seriously hurt efforts to battle global warming.

Not at all like the possible collusion. An argument supported by a false equivallency: Check.

So what ?

What's the big deal here ?

What matters right now, should be, does the average Joe get a Job or not, or even keep his Job - no matter how hard he works.

Trump is staking his rep. on trying to do achieve the above, if he doesn't then he's out. Plain and simple.

Sure, Make America Great Again, and with that, hopefully bring prosperity to the rest of the World.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

But please, I have to ask (again because nobody seems able to clarify)... what does Make America Great Again actually mean?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Of all the information regarding Trump and the Russians, I find this most suspicious.

I think it may be a trick by those who support Trump to put it out so it can be trashed, like they did to Dan Rather with the evidence of Bush Texas Air Guard records.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Blacklabel: The problem I have is that the media uses the speculative articles to try to pass the part where they have to prove anything.

I really don't know what you want us to do, Black.

When you make claims, for example Obama wiretapping Trump or the Seth Rich case, you say things like, "no evidence doesn't mean something didn't happen" and "there's no evidence...yet." You're clearly promoting a narrative for which you have no evidence and feel entirely justified in doing so.

In some cases, like the wiretapping, you've said that unless we can prove Obama didn't do it then the claim should be allowed to stand in perpetuity. You go as far as placing the burden of proof on your critics by requiring them to disprove your speculation before you'll withdraw it.

So how do you reconcile those positions with what you said above?

You want to see the Comey memo with your own eyes before the media can write about it, but you're free to speculate about the DNC murdering someone even after it's been retracted for a lack of evidence and denied by the family? Help me understand how that's not one burden of proof for yourself and an entirely different one for others.

mmwkdw: What's the big deal here ?

Intelligence agencies are acting on evidence that Russia meddled with our elections, and on top of that several of the President's inner circle have been forced to resign for lying about their own contacts with Russia. If that's not worth investigating and reporting on in your eyes, then so be it. But surely you can understand, on a very basic level, why others would be interested, especially since the government feels a Special Council is appropriate as the next step.

To see it more clearly, imagine Hillary is President, there's information that Putin tried to hurt Trump, and Hillary's people are now resigning for lying about contacts with Russia. Convince me that conservatives would see that story, say it's no big deal, and lobby to end the investigation and just move on with our lives.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

If it is "fabricated" then I am SURE you will NOT HESITATE to turn over all of your campaign records! Because there would be NO REASON for failing to comply! Gotcha! Gotcha! Gotcha! Gotcha!

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Says the guy who supports Hannity's conspiracies,

Unlike you guys that support the Russian consipracies, but please continue, don't let me interrupt.

which have earned him a "vacation" it is speculating he won't return from -- same as O'Reilly -- because his sponsors are jumping ship. And you still believe there are WMDs in Iraq of all things!

As you said, "speculating"

Hahaha... FOX 'news', whom you support 100% on anything, have made a laughing stock of your nation,

Actually, it's CNN that really did, even msnbc did shockingly better, when you do 96% coverage devoted to one issue as a news network, you only do it for one 2 reasons, ratings and targeting a certain segment of audience.

and Trump even more sore with his direct Tweets. He's an embarrassment, and so is your nation.

Really, I thought president 44 was an embarrasment to the nation. But thankfully, those terrible times are over.

Why do you think the Russians couldn't contain their laughter when they got word Trump fired Comey? They literally LAUGHED and had to turn and walk away, shaking their heads.

I think the Russians and in particular Putin laughed himself into a coma when he found out Hillary wasn't going to win the election and I have to say, I laughed as well.

They know Trump is even stupider and more insane than they originally thought and bargained for. That's fact. But hey, you go ahead and continue to plagiarize from The National Review, bass, which is nothing but lies anyway, and claim it's the LEFT that is hysterical!

I don't plagirize anymore than you libs.

Classic.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

But please, I have to ask (again because nobody seems able to clarify)... what does Make America Great Againactually mean?

It means the people who agree think America isn't great now. And, in the immortal words of those exact people: America, love it or leave it.

Unlike you guys that support the Russian consipracies, but please continue, don't let me interrupt.

The difference between the Russia issue and the Hannity inanity (not bad for 0624, eh) is there is solid evidence of meddling and evidence of possible collusion.

Black and Bass want us to stop thinking for ourselves and get on board with their narrative, which comes directly from credibile, non-partisan sources such as Breitbart and Hannity.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Collusion doesn't mean a crime was committed.

No, you can think anyway you want and you should, I just believe in 2 sides and won't jump on the burning at the stake festival until there's concrete evidence, that's where my personal rationality comes in.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

So what are the two sides in this case?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Collusion doesn't mean a crime was committed.

Electoral fraud is a crime, and what happened if there was collusion. That said, I never once mentioned it being a crime, so why did you bring it up? Some people seem to have ADD as they cannot stay focused on the issues presented but instead bring in extraneous points. Very odd.

I just believe in 2 sides

As evidenced by your one-sided posts constantly deriding the "loony left."

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Keep in mind, collusion doesn't necessarily imply a crime was committed, remember that.

Yes, "if"

No, I'm very focused, just had my morning espresso.

You want to see the Comey memo with your own eyes before the media can write about it,

No I want the MEDIA to see it with their own eyes before they write an article about it. As far as the investigations that dont have evidence YET. Why do all the anti-Trump ones get to go on for years if that is what it takes but the Dems try to shut down Seth Rich in 2 days by attacking the sponsors of the media person looking into it? Trying to shut down the investigation into election fraud before it even starts. Shouldnt we follow ALL investigations where they lead us until they get resolved? Or just the Russia ones?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

I want the MEDIA to see it with their own eyes before they write an article about it.

So you want different rules for Trump than for any other president ever.

Gotcha.

Trump claims that no president in history has ever been treated as unfairly. His loyal subjects claim he needs rules that are more fair to him than any other president in history.

Typical.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Just like the Russia narrative. Everyone says no evidence yet doesnt mean there isnt any, complex things take time, the investigation isnt over, etc. Seth Rich and Obama wiretapping have barely even been investigated at all and neither is over. A murder investigation is not complete by claiming a person was robbed, you have to find who murdered them. Until you find the killer, by default you cant say someone else was not the killer.

In some cases, like the wiretapping, you've said that unless we can prove Obama didn't do it then the claim should be allowed to stand in perpetuity. You go as far as placing the burden of proof on your critics by requiring them to disprove your speculation before you'll withdraw it.

Just like Russia speculation. The media and the Dems make baseless accusations and unless Trump and his people prove they didnt, they are guilty. If they dont respond to any accusation at all, liberals say that means it is true by default. The only truth we know about this Kushner matter is that a secret backchannel was NEVER done, even the media admits that. Yet, still the speculation of what might have happened if it had been or why they were talking about it. Doesnt matter because it wasnt made or used. It is not yet a crime to think about doing something or talk about it and not follow through. Moving on.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Ok, so I guess you are never going to understand my disbelief at a supposedly credible new source writing an article begging for impeachment of a President based on...... parts of a memo read over the phone by a friend of the person who wrote it, and it is actually not even a memo but a person's notes of their recollections of what was said months ago.

Its fine for the newspaper to not ask the actual writer about it, get a copy of it, read it themselves and ask him why he waited months to report it, and why he didnt bring it up at all when he was testifying in Congress? THAT is reporting. What was done to Trump was a drive by shooting.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

But isn't the investigation about Russia meddling in the election, and to what extent they did? Do you want to end the entire investigation or do you just want the part dealing with Trump himself closed?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

But isn't the investigation about Russia meddling in the election, and to what extent they did? Do you want to end the entire investigation or do you just want the part dealing with Trump himself closed?

No, I just want the investigation to conclude so that Dems can ONCE be shown what cry babies they are, so I welcome it, really. Dems are already covered in so much yolk, so a little more wouldn't hurt.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

cry babies

Questioning the honesty of an administration is childish? Investigating corruption is the sole domain of the "looney left"?

You're not helping your cause, you know.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

It has been established that more than 2/3rds of everything that comes out of Trump's mouth are lies.

Something just came out of Trump's mouth.

Therefore, even without knowing anything about the subject at hand, it is most likely that what Trump is saying is a lie, which indicates that the accusations against Trump's family member are probably true.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The Russians appear to have compromising, derogatory material on Trump's murky past. Perhaps this might explain one reason, at least, why Trump was so eager to play footsie with the Kremlin and dangle the prospect of sweetheart deals and cozy relations with Putzin. If so, the Russians were playing a mean game of political chess putting the orange palooka into a zugzwang that would cripple his position. Javanka, Trump's Queen, now looks likely to exit the board leaving King Trump abandoned and cornered to face unavoidable mate by the combination of two powerful pieces: the FBI and CIA. Lock him up!

Yawn, haters will hate and the funny thing about all this is, if there were a smoking gun, they would have presented the evidence a long time ago. Remember, the entire left wing media, the Dems, and the Washington elite are working 24/7 and if there were a bombshell, we would know it by now. Keep turning them rocks over.

And when the Trump administration is routed, what then?

I mean, just forget all the links to Russia, the sharing of information, the various investigations for a moment.

If the truth comes out; will you accept it? Or start your looney left epithets again?

You're one of two people on this site claiming links with the US govt/intelligence. Where do your loyalties lie?

"If" it is, then we could see a possible president Pence, would be great, but doubt it will come to that.

I would accept and I would wholeheartedly accept President Pence as well. Either way, life looks pretty good from this perch.

Not with the looney progressive, socialist Alt-left, that's for darn sure.

Generally speaking, when the GOP doesn't get it's way:

Court Cases: Say the judges were radical liberals with an agenda they are trying to force on Americans.

Investigations: They mostly go conspiracy here. For example, Obama ordering the FBI to not charge Clinton or "Deep State" operatives or someone protecting Democrats.

Voting: Mostly fake news, like claiming 5,000,000 illegals voted in California.

Congress: Blame Democrats, including things the GOP did (aka the "Obama Government Shutdown", TrumpCare.)

2 ( +2 / -0 )

No, as I said the Trump leaks hurt National Security and our relationships with our foreign allies and others

You mean when Trump leaks intelligence to Russia?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Court Cases:

Say the judges were radical liberals with an agenda they are trying to force on Americans.

...and in the liberals case, they want the Judge to be disbarred or calls for them to resign.

Investigations:

They mostly go conspiracy here. For example, Obama ordering the FBI to not charge Clinton or "Deep State" operatives or someone protecting Democrats.

Very true and still Democrats are pulling out their hairs by their organic roots as to why this is happening thinking that Americans are dumb people.

Voting:

Mostly fake news, like claiming 5,000,000 illegals voted in California.

...or trying to block and intimidate voters at the poll and using the IRS to take out conservative donors as in the 2012 election cycle.

Congress:

Blame Democrats, including things the GOP did (aka the "Obama Government Shutdown", TrumpCare.)

Blame the GOP call for fruitless investigations and cry, whine, stomp feet, suck thumb and hope that by constantly and consistently driving the narrative on TV and in print nad protesting, something will change despite 8 months of intense and vigorous searching and ultimately finding nothing.*

*see Tissue box.

"fabricated?"

I am pretty sure that Jared offered up his own explanation and he did so without any duress whatsoever. He was not under arrest or charged with anything. He had counsel present too. Is Trump going to say that J Kushner was lying? Because that is the only way this could be fabricated.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

@blacklabel

White House’s has already made multiple mistakes in describing Kushner’s Russian contacts are now a matter of interest to investigators. Nobody who reports in is stunned when Trump's staff tells you something that’s not quite right. These are misstatements of verifiable facts. Kushner omitted two meetings with Russian visitors, the encounter with Kislyak and a meeting with Gorkov, the head of Vnesheconombank, a state-owned bank that has been subject to U.S. sanctions. An attorney for Kushner has said that he had offered to amend the forms once the errors were discovered.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The whole thing was indeed 'fabricated', by Kushner himself when he 'fabricated', i.e. made, the unauthorised contacts with Russia in the first place.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Mauller has nothing to can charge Trump with. it been six week since his best buddy got the sack. What he is doing is two thing in one he waiting to end the Investigation about 2 months out for the next Presidential election, He is also waiting because the Whitehouse is leaking and he gather more evidence to charge him. If he had anything on Trump it would been out by now so to watch Trump slowly burn. Mauler is not come out with anything so he got nothing but a heap of evidence to discredit his next election.
