LOL! As trump's approval rating decreases, the more extreme his actions will be to get people to like him, and the darker his spray tan will get.
He is becoming that dump boyfriend who doesn't get that his partner is no longer interested, so he keeps trying to be extra nice and becomes angry when his efforts are no longer reciprocated.
Look for more extreme erratic decisions and immoral behavior as we get closer to elections.
nostromo
Just once, it would be nice to see him actually try and unite people rather than dividing them. A fanciful wish I know given that his whole career has been built on setting people against each other...
Numan
Because one of those decisions is a politicized stunt that is actually causing more violence to divide the country.
The other one is his vindictive childish behavior coming out because he is angry that people do not like or respect him, and he blame all the Democrats for his poor polling numbers.
The other day, trump finally spoke the truth for once:
trump said, "Nobody likes me! Maybe, it is my personality."
You think?

Trump and the GOP don’t need the “fake news” to brand them as incompetent. They do that all by themselves.
Lets suppose that the $600 in extra assistance is cut off and the localities are unassisted. Whom do you suppose that those newly indigent and unemployed city workers are going to vote for?
What effect will that have on the sputtering recovery and whom do you suppose the voters will hold accountable for the ensuing economic collapse?

Maybe one of the Republican rapid response team members who's able to interpret Trump's language can help me, but it sounds like he's saying 'all of this money' should instead be going to his fellow 'elite' running global corporations. After all, they're the ones who'll kick some of that money back to Trump's re-election campaign. Will more of this federal money be given to the Ayn Rand Foundation, the Freedom Foundation, Washington Policy Center and other far right organizations? While at the same time they're calling the bailout program 'socialism'.

One half of people on unemployment have no jobs to return to, since the jobs are gone forever.
People have paid federal taxes forever and never gotten anything from it. Now that they need help, the lizard Republicans act as if the money is coming out of their pockets.
The money going to people and cities who need it is going right back into the economy. Cutting it off will hurt the economy. It is not your money, Trump. How can anyone with an IQ over 85 not understand that?
The dumbness of Republicans in Congress and the president is extraordinary.
plasticmonkey
I want to hear Trump fans defend this one.

How can he scorn help for cities who need COVID-19 relief, yet insist on providing federal military to cities with peaceful protestors,

The people need a cure for the pandemic, not more hurt, sick people.

What a complete and utter failure.
The only morons still supporting him are those too stupid to realize that their hyper-extremism and hyper-partisanship are dragging their country down.
Ideological morons.
Bring back Obama please #bestpresidentever

Yeah, hilarious. 150,000 dead under his incompetence so far. But you go on laughing there.

I can understand when citizens support the GOP but I really don't get how anyone supports this bozo and his inner circle.

House Democrats passed their second Recovery act back in May -- it contains $75 Billion for Testing and Tracing, $100 Billion to re-open the schools, a continuation of $600 unemployment checks through January 2021, increased funding for Food Assistance (SNAP) as well as many other appropriate spending items.
Trump and Senate Republicans have been sitting on the Democratic legislation for two months and are now trying to jam unpalatable spending items through because they have created a PANIC situation.
Yet this is not mentioned in this article.

Trump has become the new dictionary definition of "dysfunctional". His niece nailed him.

"Democrat run cities" is just code for "black cities."

Reward? Is he THAT ignorant? It's not his money, it's the taxpayers money!
SuperLib
Should we start with the Civil Rights Act and take it from there? But then, why would I be justifying my party to a man who supports discrimination against blacks in housing?

So, Democrats want to help people and Republicans want to lower taxes on the rich. Nothing new here, except, oh, I dunnow..
There are 150 thousand dead Americans. And growing. The US is now officially in a recession. Schools are not going to open next month. Sports -- professional and otherwise -- are not going to restart. We can't eat out or go the movies. Or to the mall. Or go anywhere, really. Well, for most people.
Yeah, given all that, I'd say the Republicans really are holding all the cards here. Especially 'cause they's so united and all. And the Democrats are all over the place, arguing and stuff.
Well, actually the opposite, but who's counting? Not Trump.
Strangerland
Yeah, the American bailout was a complete failure on that. Countries whose economies will not suffer gave loans to companies, and required they keep their staff on pay. This meant that as measures were relaxed, employees simply had to come back to work.
In America, they gave interest free, government backed loans to companies. Anything under $2 million, and the companies simply needed to express a need. No checking. Limited requirement to keep staff on. Then everyone went on unemployment. Difficult to get back employed, and often a negative financial benefit.
What a mess.

Does he use a darker shade of orange on Wednesdays? Just asking.

What people are not talking about in the last bill that past is that the Republicans put $650,000,000 in the bill for fighter jets that we don't need.
However, there is no money for the employed and uninsured.
How do trump supporters feel about all that socialism and mismanagement of funds?
Goodlucktoyou
$7b is for things like F-35s.

trump proving once again, he is not the president of all Americans, just a rabid few!!!

I sure wish those Socialist Repubs would get their act together - the Senate Repub conference yesterday was a circular shooting gallery...
Come on Repubs - channel you inner Karl Marx and push those bailout trillions through like you did last time...
All your rich, corporate sponsors that got most of the money last time are waiting....
One of them needs a new Lamborghini....
Madverts
The insane republican party should dump trump and replace him on the ticket.
His landslide loss is going to be epic.
Sneezy
Yes.

The House speaker says $600 weekly benefit for those unemployed is not enough. How much more then?
Suppose there are 40 million unemployed currently, each getting $2,400 per month, that will be a whopping $96,000 million or $96 billion a month, $1,152 billion or about $1.2 trillion a year. Many more than this when other subsidies are added. Can US cope?
egads man!
As long as it doesn't affect me getting a second stimulus check.

Doubt it, just on the economy and violence alone, Trump will probably win a second term. If the Dems want the economy to slide further into the abyss, let them, but if for any reason Biden were to win, the Dems couldn’t invoke any regressive and progressive tax plan because you can’t get money from unemployed people, but they’ll still try and squeeze that turnip.
arrestpaul
Democrat run cities" is just code for cities that are (being) run (down) by Democrats.
Blacklabel
Why would the federal government give 500 million dollars to Minnesota because the liberal leaders stood by and let looters and rioters burn it down?
State Governors are responsible for cities, not the federal government.
Serrano
Federal aid for poorly-run cities where the Democrat mayors refused to deal with the mayhem properly? That would be a waste of money until those mayors are removed.
"Democrat run cities" is just code for "black cities."
Leave it to SuperLib to bring race into it.
bass4funk
They mostly are and “the Democrats” in charge running these cities are doing what exactly to better the lives of one o their biggest voting constituents?

Asking for 3 trillion? They should be happy Trump is even willing to propose 1 trillion as counter. There is a limit to being shameless. Emptying the treasury of the nation isn't gonna do it any good. Is not helping the situation at all. Pretty sure they are itching to try to embezzle some of these money or waste it.
Instead all these states should start putting down those rioters and focus on handling the virus outbreak. All this infighting isn't doing anyone any good. Why should the president even help disloyal people who doesn't even able to follow some simple orders? They resist every proposal he give and go against him. Every state is fighting for themselves without concerning for the whole nation itself. They had no respect for the nation, for the rules nor for the president. All they care is their right.
Downvote all you want but that the truth why currently the whole nation had more than 4.5million infected. For a nation which is call united states, they aren't united at all.
bass4funk
Those rich elite liberals were being grilled today. They’ll be rich and continue to rack up the big bucks because we use their products that just won’t change.
They might which they’re entitled to do just like the have George Soros, the teachers and worker’s unions, Hollywood, they have enough money to send down their candidates political path as well. So either way, both sides will continue to become rich, but what’s the best way to fund all of this? Who’s going to pay for all of this? If Biden wins, how will they restart the economy? By taxing more people? People that haven’t been working once February or will they continue to write more stimulus money relief and for how long?
Johnson Lee
I just laugh at the desperate attempts by the media to discredit President Trump in every single move. Pathetic. And thumb me down please, it satisfies me.
Of course he matters, it's the so called "peaceful protesters" creating havoc around them.
