So, let me get this right: Trump is a vacuous, foul-mouth, blustering blowhard who thinks the world owes him, well, everything, because, well, because!
No wonder Republicans love him.
Alphaape
So does Hillary.
YuriOtani
Black Sabbath, I will be happy on our return move to Okinawa. American politics is too strange? Trump makes Abe, Putin and Xi Jinping look GREAT!
Black Sabbath
There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Republican response to a slam:
"That's what you are. What am I?!?"
Done in by a third grade zinger!
SuperLib
Trump didn't really do anything wrong with Ramos. Ramos spoke out of turn and wouldn't stop talking. What he's doing to Bush doesn't really concern me, but the attacks on Kelly are starting to get pretty creepy since she hasn't responded in weeks.
So is he a Republican leading the GOP polls or is he a Democrat leading the GOP polls? There seems to be some confusion here.
Black Sabbath
Yeah, he did. He pissed of Latinos even more. Which is what Ramos wants.
And so does Trump.
So, I guess you are right.
Trump did nothing wrong. He only furthered himself with the "Get out of my country" crowd. And gave Latinos more reasons to vote Democratic.
TumbleDry
Trump is trying to show he is not like the others. Polls show he is taking appart the Republican party and is a menace to the standard Republican candidates. The Republican leaning media will do all there is possible to take him down.
Trump is looking like being Democrats best weapon so far.
techall
The only reason Trump is leading in the polls is because he unites the fringe right wingers, the majority of the other Republicans are split between the other 10 plus candidates. as the field is narrowed, he wont pick up much more support but the remaining candidates will.
Black Sabbath
techall
Don't underestimate the depravity of the Republican base. They have, after all, never ceased to amaze.
CrazyJoe
How is this news? Do you think this collection of observations will sway anyone's opinion? But please keep feeding this tumor. It's killing the GOP!
OldHawk
I'm not a fan of Trump, but the writers of this article seriously twisted what happened between Trump and Ramos. But then the AP is known for hiring hacks.
Kenny Iyekawa
Donald Trump is the best thing to happen to the Democrats since the Watergate scandal
nath
With something like 25% in the polling, it's not really fringe is it.
Pukey2
What we're seeing right now with the Republicans' campaign is a DREAM COME TRUE for the Democrats. A total mess that will make the GOP implode even before the Democrats get a word in edge-wise.
samwatters
The most biased "report" I have read this year.
TorafusuTorasan
Why do you say biased? You see no connection between Trump's $500 million lawsuit against Univision and his rude treatment of their employee Ramos? Totally plausible.
Megumi Shakti
After 8 years of turning over the soil and reaping the good harvest it would appear that a storm is on the horizon. I fear what America will become after Obama leaves office. Democrats are the best housekeepers. Under Democratic watch things are cleaned up, repaired and efforts for peace are brokered.
Under Republican rule, we'll get the military industrial complex and the bloodshed they lust for. Furthermore, the middle class and recovering lower class will have their rails greased in an effort to maintain the economic divide.
Trump is so rich, he could NEVER understand the working class American. IT's so interesting to see all these SUPER rich guys going after the Presidency. The money isn't enough I guess. Power is the only thing that matters. To be President of the United States is to be man with your finger on the trigger of enough nuclear warheads to make this planet uninhabitable. What a woody!
OldHawk
Because it completely omits Ramos' disruptive, grandstanding behavior, for starters.
gogogo
I dont get it, the reporter shouted out his question, he didn't wait his turn and wouldn't stay quite when told it is not his turn.
MarkG
Ramos was interruptive and completely disrespectful. Sure Trump would react. Watch the arrogance of Ramos in the video if you believe otherwise.
Trump seems to burn his bridges and he knows it. He just doesn't seem to care. He's no dummy and feels he's proceeding in the right direction.
DaDude
This comments section is for Democrats as you see, time to switch sides.
nakanoguy01
well you got the first part right, but republicans in general don't think the world owes them anything. it's the exact opopsite, actually. the party believes in being self-sufficient with minimun interference from the government. what trump believes is anyone's guess. he has flip-flopped so many times that it's hard to tell where he stands on many issues, besides immigration.
it's not only republicans who are drawn to trump. independents, who make up a sizable electorate, also support him. their frustration with government is palatable, and they want change. not the change that obama promised, but a complete revolution on how the politcal game is played. people will dismiss trump at their own peril.
TorafusuTorasan
'He's no dummy'
Ha, wait til you see his newest stunt: bringing up the most atractive women from the crowd to handle his hair and verify that it's the real deal.
I don't care how much antipathy you hold for Hilary, at least she's not doing gross hair fetish crap on a national stage.
Mirai Hayashi
This is the beginning of the end for Trump. He's lost support from Ailes and the looney tunes gang at Fox News, and by extension lost the support of many Fox News zealots.
I am not sure about Rush Limbaugh, but if Trump loses his support from him too, you can stick a fork in him, because he is DONE.
But having said all of this, if Trump somehow survives losing Fox and Limbaugh, and wins the GOP nomination, this will be the nail in coffin for the GOP. They will forever be seen as a party of radicals and will never win back the public trust again. Trump will have effectively and single handedly destroyed the GOP.
skinnee
He is selling out stadiums in Dixie. Jeb Bush or Joe Biden couldn't pay people to do that. Whether or not he understands the working-class, he is doing something right to attract their attention. That's all that matters in politics.
Perhaps. But the GOP needs a massive shakeup. They look too much like the Democrat party and have alienated their base. This could be the best thing for the Republican party. In the meantime, the Democrats don't have a viable candidate and are going to take a battering when Hillary is sentenced to prison for perjury and evidence-tampering.
Davnetcat
Trump is a doer. Thats why he has support, all the rest especially the Commie-Socialist-Democrats are just talking heads. And if you disagree with me you are stupid! Hahaha ; )
Sensato
@Mirai
Although trump has played a major role in destroying the GOP, I certainly wouldn't go as far as to give him ALL the credit.
A large portion of the blame for making a laughingstock of the GOP should also go to the overwhelming majority of GOP politicians who have been actively courting support/votes/money from the dark side of American society — Tea Party activists, gun rights advocates, holier-than-thou evangelicals, xenophobes, homophobes, the one percent, and the list goes on...
OldHawk
As for Trump destroying the GOP, the Beltway GOP establishment like Boehner and McConnell and their predecessors have done an excellent job of that by themselves. If they'll be replaced by a truly conservative/libertarian party, all the better.
The GOP has always been portrayed as the party of "radicals" by their opposition, despite their opposition being home to the KKK, both the original and the New Black Panther Party, the Weather Underground, A.N.S.W.E.R., Code Pink, Palestinian terrorist sympathizers/supporters, and on and on and on.
dcog9065
It's absolutely comical how Fox News and Megyn Kelly are so butthurt and are lashing out with their whinings, I guess they can't take it when they're thoroughly put in their place and exposed as farces. I get the same impression from the rest of the Republican sheep flock who's bleatings all sound and taste the same. One good thing that could be said about The Trump is that he's completely exposed how pathetic and alien the rest of the GOP pack are as well as Fox News
Jimizo
“Hopefully in the future I will be proven wrong and she will be able to elevate her standards to a level of professionalism that a network such as Fox deserves,” he said.'
Trump is a loudmouth but not stupid. He knows Kelly was following the Fox line in trying to slay the Trump beast but he also knows they will be forced to jump behind him if he wins the nomination.
If Trump doesn't get the nomination, she'll be allowed a phew and smirk on air.
If Trump gets the nomination, Kelly will be instructed to say how she's misunderstood Trump who will probably have an epiphany about her journalistic skills.
If Trump runs as an independent, Kelly will turn up the rhetoric following the Fox line of trying to slay the misogynyist Trump saying how he's even worse than she originally thought. Trump will counter with something obnoxious.
It may be decided that she's just too awkward. She's got the best legs and sexiest look of all the Fox cheerleaders but she is just a cheerleader. Very replaceable.
Kaerimashita
The choices currently on offer say it all about US politics. And about where democracy eventually ends up if pursued with money and image and cronyism. Trump is a clown but populism has a long history of winning democratic contests. and Hilary is the archetypal insider/crony but no one seems to notice or care.
zurcronium
Wishful thinking. Trump is polling now at 30% nationally and leads in every state and in every demographic that aligns with the republican party. As the losers like Perry, Bush, Christie and others drop out those voters will join the Trump bandwagon as he is the perceived winner. His numbers will go up as they have been now for the last six weeks. He is a political phenomenon, the perfect outsider candidate that the loons in the republican party crave. Three times married he leads among evangelicals as well, proving their fake morality to be just so fake.
It is looking like Trump-Cruz for 16. That is frankly what the republicans deserve. Fox news has tried to stop the Trump stream roller but even they are looking like the loser now. Trump is beating Fox. Fox ratings will drop like a stone if Trump does not do interviews with them.
Trump is the Republican Frankenstein. He is putting a mirror up to that horrible party and showing them what the republicans really are which is 100% white. old, tired, bitter, racist and angry at everything.

“When somebody hurts you, just go after them as viciously and as violently as you can,” Trump wrote in his book “How to Get Rich.”
At leaste you can see where he's coming from. Skipped the Vietnam War, 'Let the LOsers Fight and Die', projected Trump Enterprises Tax Savings ($2 Billion, documented), permanent contract (Building his wall to forever spending Tax Payer Funds)
Why does Trump Hate America So Much?
“When somebody hurts you, just go after them as viciously and as violently as you can,” - Donald 'the Draft Dodger' or 'Ole' Dodger' Trump.
"Welcome to The White House!" Emperor Nutball. Would say just one more time how Americans are LOsers? Please?
All's Americans can say is . . . "We're Sorry Massa Trump, Ya'll been Injured Enough. PLEASE Forgive US!?"

Not slaying Trump, but asking him tough legitimate questions, which she did and good for her, she did her job. That is what she was supposed to do.
No, Fox wouldn't tell her or any of their opinion commentators that.
Where do you get this stuff from??
She's just a cheerleader? If she were that, she'd be on Howard Stern and definitely NOT making a few million a year.
No kidding?
What about the loons that want Bernie to be the next president?? They have completely left the reservation.
So, wait a minute....being married 3 times disqualifies you from being president? What about JFK, Reagan, Clinton? They had their share of problems with women and they governed quite well.
Most definitely!! Better than what we had for the last 7 years. And we still have to live in grief and torture with this guy for the next 18 months. The agony!
Fox didn't try to do anything to stop anyone.
Not sure about that. They ratings are still top of ANY news coverage.
HE THINKS he is, but he's not, not in the real sense of what a Republican is traditionally. He's a lib, he can masquerade as a Conservative, that's his right, but if a White person dresses up and acts Black, that doesn't make that person a real Black person culturally, ethnically.
100%?? Hmmmm....Is Carson old or White? How about Jindal? He doesn't look old and definitely NOT White, neither do Rubio or Cruz? Racists? Really? On the other hand, Bernie is old and White, so is Hillary and she does look very angry and very tired...notice the rings under her eyes? By the way, did I mention, they are also rich as well. Damn these rich liberals!!!
That was racist.
HongoTAFEinmate
What if Trump gave a party and nobody came? Perhaps it is time for the mainstream media to deprive the Donald of the publicity he so badly craves. Let him earn his way by doing card tricks at his local Walmart rather than putting his mug on the front page.

bass4funk wins that one hands down. Seriously zurcronium, what country's campaign are you watching? (And good call, bass, on kcjapan's blatant racism.)
Meanwhile, the DNC's offering Hillary, Sanders, and O'Malley. The only "person of color" is Warren, and she neither running nor a person of color.
And as always, I love when someone who is a faithful supporter of the party of Margaret Sanger, the KKK, Jim Crow laws, Al Sharpton, and opposition to school choice tries to label his political opponents - who freed the slaves and pushed for civil rights - as racists.
Anyway, has any of Ramos' defenders watched the video yet? If so, do you still want to defend him, or are you just going to attack Republicans as you always do?
The article refers to him as a "Latino reporter". Hacks. That's what you hire, AP: Hacks.

Trump is a troll. He's no different from someone who comes onto websites and types incendiary comments in order to get other people angry. Only he is rich and shameless enough to do it on a national stage under his own name.

Seriously, Fox follows the herd.

Fox, No. The GOP is a very different story.

I think a Trump presidency might be a good idea. He reminds me of a Winston Churchill. Churchill was also called racist, a bigot and sexist and repugnant. And yet when the Nazis came calling and Britons began weary and fearful of Neviolle Chamberlin's passiveness and appeasement of Hitler, England turned to Churchill and Europe was saved. Trump has similiarites; he has no use for Political Correctness (like the majority of the US), he is a self-made billlionaire who has lost fortunes and made them back. He will actively deal with the border issue and other problems while other politicians fiddle. Yes, Trump is crass and mean but he is a problem solver and that's what the US needs. Go Trump!"
Alphaape
The latest poll in NH had Trump up by 35%. This is important because of the way the poll broke out. He had a 30-35% favorability among, white males, females, independent voters, and voters in the 21-30 demographic. This is hardly what one would call the far "right wing" of old grumpy white men. Also, this is in NH, a very liberal and Dem leaning state. Considering the next in line to Trump in that poll was Ted Cruz and the Ohio Gov.
Ramos may have a high rating of about 30% among Hispanic viewers, but that still leaves 70% of Hispanic viewers who don't think highly of him. And believe it or not, he is polling well among registered Hispanic voters. Those who are in the country illegally and who can't vote, why should he worry about their vote? They aren't supposed to have a say in the election anyway.

So far Trump has assured his Corporate Master he can sit up and beg. Don't kid yourself, Trump will dance like a clown if Murdock tells him to, and maybe because he really is just bat squat crazy, Trump too.
bass4funk

GalapagosnoGairaishu
Americans who think a wealthy blowhard is the answer to the nation's social and political problems are merely putting their hopes in a 21st century version of the golden calf. The US experiment with democracy is a process in learning to overcome stumbles and pitfalls, not all of which can be easily overcome.
bass4funk
If you think that, then you really don't know nothing about Trump, way before Murdoch came on the scene, there was Trump and as Sam said, he is 110% his own man, this is way the media is going insane! They can't stop, control, insult or bash Trump, none of it works. You saw what happened yesterday with Ramos, one of the most powerful men in Latin America journalism, his attack did nothing but annoy Trump and he was a complete fool in thinking that Trump of all people was going to buck or backdown. Once Ramos opened his mouth and tried to cut Trump off, I knew what was going to happen next.

To be fair, Megyn is a lousy reporter as far as I could tell. I had never heard of her until I saw a review of her (youtube?) that took several of her reports and fact checked to find almost all of what she was saying was simply incorrect. At best, she had incompetent or misleading writers. At worst she herself was lying and attempting to instigate anger.
Specifically regarding Trump, she asked questions specifically meant to single him out during the debate. As a moderator, her job should have been to give everyone as fair and level a playing field as possible. Additionally, he did not try to worm his way around her question about his anti-women statements. He made it clear that he had disgust for a particular woman, and specifically that particular woman. Not exactly the most siplomatic answer, but he was honest. Honesty, if nothing else, won a lot of points to me that night. Still not convinced on his policies however....
Secondly, this other reporter Ramos was rude and disrespectful and deserved to be thrown out. A reporter is there to ask questions and take the news..not scream about how wrong people are.
He might be wrong on many levels, but it is refreshing to see a Team Red that doesn't have to suck up to Fox for coverage.
SuperLib
I agree with the conservatives here. They don't have any problems with race and I don't think they need to change anything at all.

I thought Trump would applaud Kelly's assurance to kids that Santa is white. Oh, and Jesus too.
Top notch stuff on Fox.
She is hot though.
bass4funk
She used to be a lawyer and a very good one from what I heard, maybe that's why she's getting paid millions. Where is your proof that she was lying? Just because you don't like doesn't mean, she's not good at what she does. But then again, we have a lousy president that's a lawyer, so I get your point.
What a bunch of BS! Her job is to hit the candidates with questions that the public wants to know about, their knowledge of the issues (that will come later) but more importantly, about their personalities and conduct and Trump is NOT without controversy when it comes to his private life that has been very public and she asked him a perfectly legitimate question and Trump got testy and guess what? Had she NOT asked him that question and if Trump becomes the GOP nominee, I assure you, Hillary will attack him on that and worse, imagine what happens if Trump goes off on a diatribe the same way he did with Megyn? He'll lose flat out. So, yes, she was within her rights to have asked that question. The problem was, Trump is just too thin skinned.
Yeah, he did.
Trump has a problem with etiquette diplomacy when it comes to women and people. He needs to stop being aggressively antagonistic and bombastic with people. He comes off as a Bully, not helpful. I love the way he handles the media and the politicians, very much, but I do get turned off when he gets nasty like that towards woman. Totally rude and uncalled for.
I agree, but remember, Ramos doesn't like Trump, he sees him as a threat and I am not surprised that he was there or even the outcome of that dust up.
Fox didn't want anyone to suck up to them. Trump thought Fox was going to give him a pass and they didn't which made me smile ear to ear.

Of all the candidates on either party, Trump is probably the only one without a genuine corporate master. When the other candidates are raising millions for their campaigns, they are generally obligated to repay the favour. Obama raised $600 million in his first election, he has quite a few corporate masters to repay.
And right now it appears that rather than being buddies, Trump and Murdoch are at each other's throats. Funny to see Fox News tearing into Trump (with Trump happily returning the favour), and CNN treating him with respect.

bass4funk: "Fox, No. The GOP is a very different story."
You're right. Faux News is too busy trying to suck up to Trump and sell out its own staff as little as possible at the same time to try and derail him. The head of Faux is an absolute sellout and a coward (more so than most of it's staffers, even!). Even O'Reilly had to follow his, "Trump has to stop it" slurred speech with, "I'm friends with both of them" in an attempt at neutrality to avoid getting on Trump's bad side.
It's utterly amusing to watch Trump rip Faux apart while they knowingly not only let it happen, but then give MORE to him!! All they can do is literally beg him to stop and ply him with more appearances on their shows! HAHAHA!!
"The problem was, Trump is just too thin skinned."
You must simply be imploding through the fact that he is leading the party you support in the double digits, despite you saying sever times "He's finished". I agree he's thin-skinned, but he's destroyed your party by showing them for the farce that they are, as well as destroying all hopes that the GOP will win. Even if Trump doesn't get the nod to run for the GOP, he's left anyone else in absolute tatters and with all the infighting THEY are what's done, my friend. Jeb is now running away from his own comments and trying to backtrack on his Trump attacks, and other serious potential contenders have been shredded by the man, and all he's done to destroy them is making much more blatant promises with no plans than the GOP usually makes, proving the supporters are suckers, and racist and misogynist comments that get even MORE support from the party, proving again what they are made of.
It is TOO funny! (and the three-year-old 'So is Hillary' "defense" is not a defense, bass), and it's only getting better!
Tessa
Don't mess with Trump. There'll be hell toupee if you do.

bass4funk
Nonesense, there is no way they are in the tank for Trump or that they would unequivocally support him. Why do you libs lie like that. It's just so comical.
Coward, but with a ton of money, great for him! Envy him actually.
O'Reilly has known Trump for years, I remember them both talking through the years before Bill was at Fox, we're talking back to the early 80s. he also has a great relationship with Kelly, so it would be ludicrous and immoral to take sides, I don't blame him and why should he. Good on him for being the voice of reason.
What in blazes are you talking about? I know this year was super hot, but come on......
Exactly!
We still have a year. Around this time, a few years ago Herman Cain was leading too.
-> I agree he's thin-skinned, but he's destroyed your party by showing them for the farce that they are, as well as destroying all hopes that the GOP will win.
First of all, it's not my party. I'm not a Republican.
So you mean, if he can't bully and blackmail his way to the nomination, he'll go 3rd party. That's very Conservative and Republicanny of him to do that, nice, just nice.
But The Dems are Racists as well. They hate Whites or is that not racism in your eyes or maybe you think all minority's should get privileged treatment and damn all the Whites? Racist? Only if the target is non-white.
Uh....yeah, we'll see. But Hillary and Bernie can kiss the podium goodbye. America will never elect a socialist or a habitual liar, especially one that could be indicted, by which case she's through, no matter what.
nishikat
He is creating a lot of fears about nothing with regards to illegal immigration (which is reversing anyway).
But he's not making too many friends with the non-whites. In fact he's making lots of friends with the white supremacists.
Electable? hmmmmm.
If you were a non-white American how would like like a politician who says "hey, all you dark dirty people are raping our precious white clean people"

And moreover, why the thumbs down above? (and probably on this replay too) You asked for a source regarding my claim, I gave you a source. What gives man?
Jimizo
I can only conclude that Obama became a socialist after winning his second term after being a capitalist, or pretending to be one, in his first term.
America would never elect a socialist.
Help me out here.
nishikat
What exactly is a "socialist"? It just sounds like a word you call someone when you don't like them without providing any data. If you call someone a murderer it means they killed someone. You can connect it directly to their actions. But what do you connect a "socialist" to?
bass4funk
One reason is Bernie would Obama on steroids (also Obama endorsed Bernie in congress) when it comes to income redistribution and would expand our already messed up and out of control Federal government and now we become Sweden, which Bernie wants and for the life of me, I just don't know he just doesn't more there. He could eat all the Surströmming he wants. Keep it over there and he should take his mentor with him. Skol!
"Robbing Paul to give to Peter." Another one of his mentors was Frank Marshall Davis of the US Communist party. His mother was involved heavily in communist politics and was very interested in it, admired it. Then we have the good old hateful Rev. Wright, Goddamn America and yet, Obama still continued to go to his church. If you read his books, Obama frequently admitted to going to socialist conferences, loved reading book on Karl Marx, admired the man, loves to spread the wealth or income redistribution. Obama was close friends to Bill Ayers, a known communist and socialist who also helped write one of Obama's books. The communist party endorsed Obama in 2008. Independent salvation depends on COLLECTIVE salvation, don't forget to check all the czars that he appointed, check out all the people and you will see each one of them is a strong supporter of socialism and some of them communism as well. Believes healthcare is an absolute right, but funny thing is, 200 years ago, we didn't have healthcare. Is it the right that my neighbor takes care of me and my family including my pet dog? He believes housing is a right, he believes in open borders, believes in downsizing or even dismantling the military. We can go on and on, but yeah, that's pretty much the tip of the iceberg that tells the story that Obama is a socialist. There is your proof.
OldHawk
The American Left might want the U.S. to become Sweden, but they'll end up turning it into Venezuela.
nishikat
Murderer: someone convicted of killing someone in bad intent.
I explained it in one sentence fragment. You are talking in circles explaining what a Socialist is.
"Believes healthcare is an absolute right" Republicans invented ObamaCare
"he believes in open borders" Reagan inked 3M greencard amnesty- and there would have been many more if illegals had known about it back in the 80s
You are talking in circles and also defining what a Republican is at the same time. It just shows you don't like Obama.
So what do you think of the black and Hispanic vote for Trump?
"The American Left might want the U.S. to become Sweden, but they'll end up turning it into Venezuela." Do you know that Sweden has one of the highest number of billionaires in the world? I'm sure the rich folks there are not complaining about all this socialism.

Now that is really a frightening thought, but the way things are going, can't really disagree with that statement.
No, I just outlined just the tip of the iceberg what Obama is and some of the traits of what socialism is. This is the thing you libs do, No, you got it all wrong or you misunderstand what the meaning of socialism is etc, etc, etc. I have been on this planet a very, very long time and traveled all over the world and I have seen and I know what socialism is and I have NO problem if a person supports it, whatever you do or like is NOT my business, but libs can never or will never or just too chicken s*** to admit what they are or that they believe in it! That's why I respect Bernie at least he's honest about what he is and what his intentions are and I can't dislike anyone that is honest, most politicians are NOT.
And Democrats increased the size of it, put it on steroids and instead of concentrating on the 18 million that DIDN'T have healthcare, the Dems wanted to change the ENTIRE system for everyone, screw the rest of Americans that WERE happy with the healthcare plan they had.
Oh, yes, I remember it very well. And the Dems promised Reagan that they would seal the border if Reagan granted them amnesty and what happened....nothing. The Dems lied once again.
No, I'm not and No, I don't like Obama. That talk about transparency and honesty was just a bag of stinking BS!
I feel sorry for many of them, NOT that I want them to vote for Trump or even vote Republican, I feel sorry for them, because the large majority of them don't know anything about politics or the issues. They just vote Democrat by default. I have a lot of liberal friends both Black and Hispanic and when we talk politics, they really don't know a lot, understand a lot, listen to their friends or don't care, also many of them are young, highly influenced by the liberal theocracy that is affecting our educational institutions and many think that my parents vote Democrat and that's what they will do.
http://www.newgeography.com/content/001543-is-sweden-a-false-utopia
This article says it the best. If I want to be like Sweden, I'll move to Sweden and I have enough money, so NO envy in that department.
nishikat
"would seal the border" (1) You can't seal the border. (2) They generally overstay visas. (3) illegal immigration is decreasing. (4) During the Bush Jr. era the Republicans who ruled strongly could have made the dream wall but never did. That whole idea is less realistic than a Disney drams.
Socialism is simply about paying more in taxes? Can you define it in one sentence? You can't connect it to a simple idea like murderer
"Now that is really a frightening thought, but the way things are going, can't really disagree with that statement." So then get the Republicans to make the USA like Sweden. You up for that?
"And Democrats increased the size of it" Both Bush Sr. and Reagan pushed Medicare and Medicaid along quite a lot. But OK, then let the Republicans handle it since they invented it. I don't care since they will pretty much go the same direction. You up for the Republicans taking over ObamaCare?
"They just vote Democrat by default." No, in the past the Hispanics voted strong for the Republicans. I would remember Reagan and that amnesty. I remember reading the Hispanic vote was strong for Bush Jr. But I might consider Clinton an enemy of the blacks from his strong push with the war on drugs which just meant easy arrests of black males which has been a big waste.

bass4funk AUG. 29, 2015 - 08:54AM JST Oh, yes, I remember it very well. And the Dems promised Reagan that they would seal the border if Reagan granted them amnesty and what happened....nothing. The Dems lied once again.
In the 80's, when President Reagan signed the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act, it was at least partially at the urging of California farm groups who, by then, had helped Reagan win four elections, two for California governor, and two for president. One of the major proponents of what the bill’s detractors called “amnesty” was California Republican Sen. Pete Wilson, who enjoyed the support of immigration-loving big business.
On the subject of illegal immigration, they love to complain about effects of illegal immigration, either real or imagined, as much as anyone else in the country. Here’s what they don’t seem very troubled about: the fact that illegal immigration has become a cash cow for many businesses, especially in agricultural industry. The agriculture industry had become completely dependent on immigrant labor, some of it from legal immigrants, but much of it from the undocumented. And what an industry it is, producing more than $45 billion a year in revenue and supplying more than half the produce consumed in the U.S. Americans are always talking about the cost of illegal immigration. It’s about time that someone dissected the benefit. If agricultural industries suddenly had to rely on a completely legal workforce and couldn’t hire another undocumented person, many of them would be out of business. Is that a good thing? Is it a bad thing? What does it matter? It’s the truth.
bass4funk
"would seal the border" (1) You can't seal the border.
You can absolutely seal the border if you cut through the politics and red tape and have a president that has the guts and is not in the pocket of the corporates and the politicians.
No, from Mexico it has to a very small point decreased, but what about the millions that are already living in the States? Libs keep forgetting that core point. and then there is the problem with people "OTM" or "other than Mexicans" people that are coming from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras accounted for over 240,000 apprehensions and Mexicans 230,000! This is just madness!
(4) During the Bush Jr. era the Republicans who ruled strongly could have made the dream wall but never did. That whole idea is less realistic than a Disney drams.
They could have, but the Bush's were never for building a wall or forced legal immigration on that, they get a solid F In that sense, they were very progressive when it came to the border and were very sympathetic. Remember, Bush won big with Hispanics. Bush 43 got 40% of the Hispanic vote, so I'm not surprised.
No, I do not and I already did. Nishikat, just stop. I get so tired of all the liberal BS spin that you guys want to make socialism sound like it's NOT that bad, I have heard every single argument and it's all crap. Again, if you like it, no matter how subtle, then just go and live in Scandinavia, but I don't want the US to be anything like them.
Of course not, that's why other than Rubio, Cruz, Kasich, Huckabee or Fiorino, I wouldn't vote for anyone else. Because I know they wouldn't touch that with a 10ft poll.
I think Medicare and Medicaid are EQUALLY as bad as Obamacare.
No, basically Romney created a system designed for ONE State and he was able to fund it because Ted Kennedy accumulated a ton of slush fund money that they used to fund it. The rest of the US doesn't have that kind of cash and taking all the money from the affluent since Obama can't create a strong lasting economy won't change that. I'm up for the Republicans creating a healthcare system that won't bankrupt the nation and a plan that is more affordable without the loopholes, lies and deceptions like the Cadillac tax that a lot of people don't know about just like Jonathan Gruber anticipated because the average American is too dumb to notice.
That is not true. Only 27% of Hispanics are true conservative, the rest are Dems and let's not forget how many illegals the Dems allowed to vote in the past 2 general elections, that's why they are beside themselves that the Republicans want strict voter ID laws, then that takes the fraud out of the equation. If the Dems had nothing to hide, why oppose it? You need an ID to drink, drive a car, buy a home, why not to go voting? No difference.
Because Bush was for illegals and granting them amnesty.
nishikat
"No, from Mexico it has to a very small point decreased," Sorry, let me clarify. It's reversing due to the expanding global middle class.
But you think that most of the people coming to the United States are bad people like druggies and rapists and criminals. Very few are good people, OK.
"You can absolutely seal the border" Can you physically describe it? You seem to know so much about it. Describe this fortified border in detail.
"what about the millions that are already living in the States?" Ok, you want to deport every single one of them. How?
OK, make ObamaCare state by state. I don't care.
"make socialism sound like it's NOT that bad" Lots of billionaires in Scandanavia, like Skype founder. You are a very rich person and have powerful CEO friends as you said. Does it really matter to you if you have a 30% or 70% tax rate if you have an 8 figure yearly income. How do you personally feel about that? Bill Gates wants to give away his billions when he dies. How about you?
"No, I do not and I already did. Nishikat, just stop" OK then you think Obama is a communist socialist Devil worshiper who wants to confiscate all private property and make the USA like what the USSR was. OK.
nishikat
" Believes healthcare is an absolute right, " OK, I get it. People who get sick and cannot pay should just be refused healthcare and die on the street like a stray dog. That is what you are saying.
sfjp330
nishikat AUG. 29, 2015 - 10:45AM JST People who get sick and cannot pay should just be refused healthcare and die on the street like a stray dog. That is what you are saying.
That is a reality in all other countries, except U.S. Why should the average citizens in the U.S. be penalized with higher premiums to pay for the health insurance of the uninsured or illegals? Only happens in the U.S.
bass4funk
And we still have over 11 million running around in the States, especially CA and NV, so that doesn't change things at all, in fact, it's equally as bad. CA is going bankrupt in many cities and you libs think, it's ok? That's why CA. is in the financial ruin that it is and people are leaving by the thousands because it's turned into a cesspool of crime and degradation and the only people that are saved from it are the affluent that can afford to live far away from the scum that roam the sanctuary streets of cities like LA and SF!
The fact is MOST of the crimes that are committed by illegals, most have shown to have very violent histories. That's not my opinion those are just the facts from local police, ICE and the FBI.
Israel has built a wall, North and South Korea have a wall. Seems to be working.
No, I don't. the ones that have families that were born in the States can stay, but the parents of those that broke the law, should be excluded from all the benefits that come with being a naturalized citizen. With a proper work permit, they can work, drive a car, but until they become legalized, NO free perks whatsoever.
Or defund it entirely.
I really don't care about a man that is the 1% and pays taxes through the nose. Good for him.
It's my money, I pay enough taxes and you think I want to give the government more??? Why do you think so may people even in Sweden move their money offshore or even to the states? To avoid paying out more taxes.
To my family, yes.
Hey, you said it, I didn't.
nishikat
You have confirmed that net immigration is reversing and they are starting to go back home
You are saying that almost all of the illegals that come to the USA are (or will become) felons. Very few will do anything good for the country.
Those borders are much shorter. The US/Mexican border is 2,000 miles. If they haven't built the wall by now it cant be built, and you didn't even give details about it.
"It's my money, I pay enough taxes and you think I want to give the government more??? " OK, then you are saying that higher tax rates equals socialist government.
No, you are the one who said Obama is a socialist who wants to confiscate private ownership from everyone and make all property state owned.
"To my family, yes." You will have spoiled kids if you give your hundreds of millions to your kids.
bass4funk
No, I did not. I have confirmed that we have 11 million illegals living in the states, that is a problem and these people NEED to be sent back and also illegal immigration HAS INCREASED from countries from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. That is what I have confirmed.
A very large percentage of illegals, Yes.
I did. And up until now, we didn't have a politician that was going to go forward with building it, except for Trump, who can't be bought. I know it's the liberals greatest fear to seal that border, but it's as real as Obama is leaving office in 437 days.
No, I'm saying income redistribution of wealth is.
Pretty much.
Maybe, but they are MY kids.
nishikat
Jeb Bush confirmed that net immigration is reversing. According to him as of 2012 it was net zero. So you disagree with a Republican?
So you think there is a great influx of illegal aliens and the numbers are increasing year by year. And you think like 90% are thieves, rapists, murders, and other types of felons like crack dealers. Only a very very small percentage are honest.
"we didn't have a politician that was going to go forward with building it," No, you said the Republicans were for it. It can't be built. You want an electrical fence that looks like something you might see in Jurassic park. And you say this fence goes deep underground with thick steel plates to prevent tunneling. Also, it should extent past the extremes of California and Texas to prevent Hispanic boat people.
"No, I'm saying income redistribution of wealth is." Yes, that's higher tax, you think higher tax is socialism
What makes Obama socialist. He hasn:t confiscated any private property.
bass4funk
Obama also said the economy is great, but failed to mention 45 million people on food stamps for 51 months and wages are stagnant, growth is completely down. So basically, we don't need to hear talking points from any of these politicians, and yes, I completely disagree with him, so because Bush says it, makes it so? Come on!
I'm from L.A. it's evident.
A lot, yes. Gangs like MS-13, Mexican Mafia or 18th Street. the Logan Height gangs are growing and a lot of illegals are joining.
I never said, it can't be built, I'm saying they haven't built it for various political reasons, not to mention Mexico makes an astounding $22 billion by keeping the borders open and the illegals crossing through.
That would be a fantastic idea!!
No, just fortify the border with more patrol agents and put troops from the National Guard in place, that would be the best deterrent.
Yes.
If you want to go over 70% and use that as a means to stimulate the economy as opposed to creating higher paying jobs and the encouragement of creating more entrepreneurship in this country, then that would be considered socialism.
I already outlined it. Scroll up, please.
nishikat
Unemployment is actually officially down. You trust Republicans. And you trust trump who says that almost all male illegal Mexicans rape America's white women.
OK, so now you really confirm that net immigration is reversing.
So you want the Mexicans to be electrocuted for trying to cross into the United States.
But my private property is my private property. And the value is holding steady. Obama hasn't taken it away from me. Only socialists do that.
bass4funk
Food Stamps, unemployment benefits and welfare are up. There is a reason Obama is known as the food stamp president.
comparing them overall to Democrats and the progressive, liberal, socialist, Atheist left, in that sense looking at it like that. Most definitely.
I trust the stats when it comes to illegal crime activities. I don't need Trump to tell me.

I never said that, I said and confirmed it's increasing from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. please read carefully and properly.
I want all illegals to stay out.
Not yet.
nishikat
OK, so the United States is now a socialist country. Which countries in the world are not?
bass4funk
The US isn't....at least not quite yet, but it's getting there slowly, all the more reason NOT to have another liberal in the White House.
nishikat
Yes, it is, as you have said, it has a socialist communist president for the last two terms. That is plenty of time for it to turn communist. You said that tens of millions of illegals enter the country every year and food stamps are up at a record amount. You have confirmed it is socialist. Can you confirm that there are reports of Obama planning to confiscate people's private property? When will this start happening?
bass4funk
Really, then so be it.
Yes
Not sure, but the way things are going, who knows....

Mr Trump himself calls his supporters "the silent majority" - a label first coined by President Richard Nixon in 1969.
"There's a silent majority out there," Mr Trump said in South Carolina last week. "We're tired of being pushed around, kicked around, and acting and being led by stupid people."
This is why Trump leads all the Republican candidates, and, if Hillary Clinton implodes, might actually become the next president of the United States.
lucabrasi
They're the majority measured in body-weight kilos, no doubt.
Otherwise, no.
lucabrasi
@Serrano
Yep, I'm quite happy to say it up-front. Most right-wingers are overweight. They'd rather feed their faces with fried chicken than even consider the messed-up state of the nation and do something to make a change.
English Tories are the same. Fat, smug and arrogant.
Serrano
@luca
Ha ha, well, then, since most Americans are overweight, I guess Trump will be the next president, ha ha, lol
lucabrasi
@Serrano
But plenty of lefty-fatties like me around!
nishikat
Trump says he will tax the rich more and middle class less. He's a socialist. Look it up in the news.
Wolfpack
I think Trump is just an entertainer. From an entertainment standpoint he is killing it. He is insulting everyone in power or seeking power like John Stewart did on his program. I have to admit that I enjoy seeing Trump question reporters when they ask gotcha questions. I would like to see all of the candidates take on the press more.
But Trump is not a serious candidate when it comes to policy. He will stir things up for a while and when the GOP field get's smaller his support will decrease as more serious candidates gain traction. In the meantime, enjoy the show folks.
bass4funk
That is definelty the one thing that DOES scare me about Trump.
nishikat
Obama didn't even do that so much so you should like Obama. More millionaires under Obama too. Lots of people got richer under Obama. Didn't you?
bass4funk
But he did enough and that bitterness is still in my mouth, so NO, I don't like him and No, I'm not on board with Trump's plan.
That depends. More people took advantage of the loopholes in the stock market under Obama and to your second question, I already had money before Obama.
nishikat
"But he did enough and that bitterness is still in my mouth" Like what?
"I already had money before Obama." How about now? More? Less?
So you no longer worship Trump? You really did before.

Enough.
No, I just love his boldness and how he can't be bought, doesn't play to the tune of the politicians and especially the media. Not worship, but admiration.
nath
I wonder if you actually believe that this response matches the question, or if you are deliberately trying to be obtuse.
nishikat
That list doesn't really apply to me and hasn't made any difference in my life. What do you care about ObamaCare? You are rich. Don't you just pay the hospital bill by cash like a rich Saudi prince would?
No, how has Obama affected you? Did his presidency make you less rich?
"I already had money before Obama." How about now? More? Less?
"No, I just love his boldness and how he can't be bought," But he wants to tax you more personally. Do you think Trump will make you more or less rich?
bass4funk
Basically, it's no one's business, just let's say "enough."
nishikat
But you always talk about it. Also, you say you people who are Fortune 500 CEOs. Friends of yours. What do they say about Trump?
bass4funk
I care about people getting hosed by this president and I know a lot of people that have a problem paying their premiums and 4 people that just can't afford it at all, so they just decided to pay as they go.
Yes

Enough
That depends...
The same as what I said before, please scroll up to see previous comments.

Really? I don't know any people having trouble paying premiums for ObamaCare (which was a Republican idea). You are a multimillionaire, yet, I'm surprised to hear you are in direct contact with such people.
So you are rich enough to not have health insurance and just pay cash. Hasn't Obama made you richer? Under Obama more riches have been made. Many new millionaires. Aren't you one of the fortunate ones under Obama?
Have you ever met a Saudi prince? How about the Saudi king?
No, what do your CEO friends say about Trump? You have American fortune 500 CEOs.
That depends? What do you mean?
Who is better for your finances? Trump or Obama?
bass4funk
I do.
I never said that. I think you're confusing me with Hillary.
The world is full of surprises. Bernie Sanders running surprised me totally!
Around the Mulberry Bush again??
For the people that invested, maybe a few, for the people that didn't, NO.
I do like Saudi Food.
It means, it depends.
If Trump becomes president and after the first 4 years, I will let you know, promise!
nishikat
You said that your kids are going to inherent your millions. You are a multimillionaire. You have a big corporation that employs many many people.
You are a job creator, aren't you? You need to pay a low tax rate in order to reinvest your millions that is not taxed and create more jobs for the middle class. Your corporation is an engine of capitalism.
No, lots of new millionaires. Didn't you make more millions than you already had?
Hillary? Now you are saying being rich is bad? Which is it?
Has Obama helped you make more millions or not?
bass4funk
I never said, I'm a multimillionaire.
Something like that.
No, Hillary has more money.
That depends.
nath
How is 'enough' an answer to whether or not it's increased or decreased.
nishikat
You are the Chairman of a major corporation and are not a millionaire?
bass4funk
Meaning, it's no one's business, but enough to never worry about my life.
I am now self-employed and well off.
nishikat
So you confirm you used to be the chairman of a major corporation. Those people (and you) have multimillionaire yearly salaries. Also, your stocks. You should be worth at least 100 million.
SuperLib
Bass is part of the 1% as per past posts. He said that he is making a killing off of Obama. He actively works against his own self interests because, as he said, he is worried that the middle class beneath him isn't getting a fair shake. So he is willing to put his millions at risk to save the poor families of the USA. He also owned a company that had more than 50 employees and he shut it down because of Obamacare (before the business provisions took effect, but he is forward thinking), but he said his employees were very understanding when he laid them off because they too could see that Obamacare will destroy the country. Don't let the lack of basic grammar skills fool you, he had access to the top people in Obama's circle and writes for the WSJ from time to time.
For this partular thread he's focusing on his poor friends who can't afford Obamacare. He has many friends who struggle to afford the payments and 4 friends who are too poor to pay anything at al. They are most likely uneducated takers who line up with the illegals for free services.
Apolitical
Donald Trump is a lot more charismatic alternative to democratic candidate than McCain or Romney were in previous elections. His pro side is that he doesn't like small talk, he wants to get the things done, has the courage to say things that aren't pleasant to hear. That means he will probably be a tough negotiator. On the other side, however, there is very little subtlety and political correctness in him. That's everything but good in maintaining foreign relations. Also I'd expect him to force his own vision, rather than participate in the public debate (this is the bad side of not liking small talk). He'd be probably willing to throw all of Obama's work to the trash and deal harshly with the illegal immigration. That does remind me of Nixon to an extent. Still, it's only my speculation.
bass4funk
Never said that.

Never said that.
I completely agree.

You have two friends (at least) who are CEOs of fortune 500 companies.

Goodness, I hate politicians. Doesn't matter if they're donkeys or elephants. I hate their lying, cheating, and corruptible acts and tendencies.
The nice thing about Trump is that he's not a politician. He'll say exactly what's on his mind. He may be a D-bag, but he's not as bad of a liar as the other candidates. He's not afraid to step on toes. He's not PC. He's been bankrupt, what, 3 or 4 times? But that still doesn't get him down. He doesn't quit. He's a like-able candidate for me. Too bad the media and liberal left play him down so bad.
nath
But can you imagine him as president? Even Bush with all his failings would be a better choice I think. Trump may be a great CEO, but that doesn't mean he'd be a good president. A country and a company are different things.
Carolee Thumma
As far as Trump being his "own man", he's not, daddy gave him half a million dollars and a huge money making apartment complex. He never had to answer to a "boss" so he only wants to make himself happy, never once is he going to think about what's best for the American public.
He's what my grandparents called "Snake Oil Salesman", those trump up more entertainment than business man.
He put a reporter in time out, he keeps calling another female reporter names, a reporter who pissed him off by asking him "how are you going to be a fair president when you consistently call woman names?" And then he calls her bimbo and stupid and makes cracks about her period.
So what happens when Putin pisses him off, or some other World Leader doesn't act the way Trump wants them to act...and then we are off to war because big orange head can "hurt them harder then they hurt him". Yeah that's the way one should deal with Kim Jong-un.
