Great. The only two countries that are jumping for joy are Russia and China. Our next President may leave a legacy of having singlehandedly decimated 70 years of US foreign policy.

Dunno Ossan. I think many anti globalists from far left to far right, are actually very pleased with this result. So I think in every country, particularly in old europe, you'll have ppl celebrating Trump’s victory today.

Politicians have been selling us globalization for a few decades now and many ppl are today saying 'you know what, I'd rather live in a less globalised world even/especially if that means preserving my culture'.

On May 18 of this year Reuters reported the following:

"Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Tuesday he is willing to talk to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to try to stop Pyongyang's nuclear program, proposing a major shift in U.S. policy toward the isolated nation." ... ... ... I doubt any amount of talking will persuade Kim to abandon his nuclear weapons program, but discussions at the highest level - which Kim craves - may reduce some of the heat. It's worth a try. Get ready to pack your bags, Donald.

The post-war world order and political system is ending I think. Trump's victory will most likely start a cascade of populist victories throughout Europe, causing an accelerated collapse on that continent. The US should still be fine, but politics will be altered forever with personal attacks becoming the norm and people craving for more and more radical characters and extreme populism. In the long run the system should get back to normal once vast economic damage is experienced due to anti-globalisation and not being able to follow through on outlandish promises. Security-wise, the damage is irrevocable; Japan will have to arm heavily, SE Asia will be ceded to China while Europe will be dominated by Russia, all the while American power will diminish relatively

Only Russia was happy, but I'm still waiting until Trump get's the full debriefing by the CIA director. I wonder what he's gonna hear that will make him think twice about rolling out the red carpet without concessions.

I do like Russia a lot and would prefer that both the US and Russia get out of this funk, but there need to be a mutual understanding that the US doesn't support certain things that Russia believes is good to do.

@OssanAmerica

Actually, the Bush / Rumsfield team did this job pretty well with the "Imperial overstretch" in Afghanistan and Iraq and with the concept of American unilateralism. They thought they could do anything they want. They were wrong, the gravediggers of US power.

Maybe in Slovenia. lol

Hungary is also very good with protection of its national identity. lol

@HonestDictator

Good point. I just don't think that only Russia is happy with Trump being elected. Every country with independent foreign policy is. The problem is that the number of truely independent leaders is small. Particularly in Europe presidents remind the overgrown children who, whatever happens, clutch to America's skirt and scream "Mommmy"!!!

It's interesting that many countries who cheered are countries who want a weaker US, lol

Russian hackers won the election.

So now no one has a problem blaming the hackers on Russia?

Yet when it was going on, everybody was like "Russia is just being used as a scapegoat" and even Trump wouldn't even entertain the notion that it's from Russia

So was Trump wrong or was he lying?

So next time there's another hack blamed on Russia, nobody would have a problem with that? After all, if they've done it before already, then they're capable of doing it again
