Also happening in Georgia...
That's from a Republican Lieutenant Governor. I remember at the end of 2000 there was a time when Al Gore looked like he had a fair chance of winning Florida, but with stuff like this coming out Trump's efforts just look more and more pathetic by the day.

But Trump doesn't care. His personal mission now is to continue dividing the country.
Who in the US benefits when Americans are fighting each other. While having to deal with a pandemic out of control because of Trump's bungling. While having to deal with Trump's failed economy that's smacked millions of Americans.
McConnell knows his wife will lose the cushy job she's had thanks to Trump and before him Bush 43.
McConnell and wife have got filthy rich from government 'service'. Their loyalty is to their bank accounts. They care zip about the general population. Republicans, after all.

Trump is mostly likely to be indicted, than be President again, he cannot go into NY, without the fear of being arrested, when he step down as President

A wannabe tinpot dictator trying to create a new banana republic, pathetic.
The spineless McConnell is the most disgraceful senate majority leader ever.
Years later we’ll have their pictures in museums as the people who tried to overthrow democracy in the US.
Ah_so
Any Republican with any sense is distancing himself from Trump. He will be gone in a couple of months.
funkymofo
Hmmm, difficult to know what to think-I guess I’ll have to wait for Rudi to roll out another sex offender at his next porn shop car park news conference.

So true. Any sensible Republican would stay away from Trump and his policies. From Day One it was himself first, party second, and country third. When, most level-headed citizens (both Democrat and Republican) would put country first and individual last.
It is no mystery then why he lost the election. He may have kept his gullible and hard right base, but he lost the more centrist Republicans; those who try to stick to the core GOP values that help to move the country in the right direction. Those type of Republicans don't like the selfish agenda that Trump was pushing.
As for his hand-picked nominee Amy Barrett, although she may be for the GOP, I'm pretty sure she will not be a champion for him. She is one who actually goes to church and reads the Bible. She also probably can't accept someone who is a known philanderer, liar, cheater, and dictator. So good luck with getting any Supreme Court decisions to rule in his favor.
Finally, he should just do the honorable thing and concede. Past one-term presidents like Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush did. As well as other losers of elections. None of them claimed cheating. But then again, I sincerely doubt there is one honorable bone in Trump's body. He is also a hypocrite since I clearly remember him complaining that Democrats (and Green Party members) should not request recounts in the 2016 elections. Yet here we are, with him requesting them. Wow!
egads man!
Republicans should have jumped ship when they knew Trump wouldn't win a 2nd term. Seems like a fat chance there will be bipartisan work on anything in the foreseeable future.
Thanks a lot, Trump.

Not content with the damage he has already done, he seems hellbent on more. With his lackeys in office to support him.
That's exactly what he is. Or the Toxic Avenger in old age.
NOMINATION
CNN: Melania among those telling Trump to concede.
Melania Trump: The American people deserve fair elections. Every legal - not illegal - vote should be counted. We must protect our democracy with complete transparency.
The gullible continue to let these media outlets run their minds.
Bob Fosse
I can’t help but chuckle when I hear trump supporters talk about gullibility and transparency.

Attorney General William Barr has authorized federal prosecutors across the U.S. to pursue “substantial allegations” of voting irregularities before the 2020 presidential election is certified (AP News)
How long until Barr is a "henchman" again?
ulysses
The ones goading trump into this fight , the one he will lose badly, are the ones who colluded with trump in undermining democracy.
Barr, rudy.... are or will be investigated and face prison time for corruption.
don jr and Eric facing collapsing businesses and bankruptcy and hope they can hold it off for another 4 years.
Then there is trump himself, SDNY , 4 letters that make the prospect of a loss of presidential protection frightening!!!!
Blacklabel
so seems I didnt miss anything, same people going on and on about same thing.
See you in all in a couple of days after you lose Arizona and NC and AK are added to the Trump total.
I have been alive long enough to remember "President-Elect Gore", it means nothing until the votes are certified by the electors in each state. thats Dec 14 I believe.
SimondB
No need to rush back. Why not continue your absence until December 14 then you can come back and smugly tell us Trump is still the president (snigger).
Bob Fosse
You don’t need to do that, I’m sure such a monumental news item would be reported somewhere, we’ll hear about it through the optic bubble silo.

Of course, McConnell said this from his Senate office - he has refused to visit the White House for four months because of their lax COVID safety measures...

That's a real vote of confidence Mitch...even you admt Trump's COVID response has been an abject failure...
Want another opinion? Ask Ben Carson...

Trump is a desperate and pathetic figure. Barr and Giuliani know they have to go down with the ship, hence their continued, blind support. Anyway, Trump is a goner and the sooner the better. Now he wants to start firing people again so he can feel 'normal'. The word loser doesn't begin to describe him. He's actually a narcissistic psychopath. If I go down, you're all coming with me. If anyone needs to be locked up in January, it's Trump, his stupid sons, along with Barr and Giuliani.

I just now checked the odds for next president on Betfair
Joe Biden is 1.07
Donald Trump is 14

...only “legal votes” should be counted...
That's what's called an insinuation, as transparently dishonest as befits this rogue outfit with their bag of dirty tricks.
Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, who won her reelection bid and has congratulated Biden on his victory.
"Magnanimous" in victory, Maine's "Lazy Susan" is finally coming round to show us she has "learned her lesson", perhaps.
Nevertheless, the American people can't afford to take their eyes off the ball when the Republicans led by the Kentucky dirty bird are holding it.
sunfunbun
It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic.

More like a delusion and sore loser problem...
To Russia Today...

Democrats made sure that was never going to happen during the last 4 years.

'Alternative facts'...a dangerous phrase by Kelly Anne Conway...was all predicted by Orwell and known as 'doublethink', which in essence is how lies and narrative attempt to blur truths by gas lighting and situational bias. It is what Trumpism is all about, and behoove his followers to read 1984, but undoubtedly, they'd think it was a fake book written by the fake news.
The gist of 'doublethink' is as follows:
The keyword here is blackwhite. Like so many Newspeak words, this word has two mutually contradictory meanings. Applied to an opponent, it means the habit of impudently claiming that black is white, in contradiction of the plain facts. Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to believe that black is white, and more, to know that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary. This demands a continuous alteration of the past, made possible by the system of thought which really embraces all the rest, and which is known in Newspeak as doublethink. Doublethink is basically the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.
This is exactly the dangerous ability to believe false information and/or truthful information at the same time that leads to cherry picking the info and the constant moving of the goalposts for Trump and his supporters.
This needs to stop.
Alex
Did he really think he would be reelected based on his performance as the president? he is as delusional as his supporters.
Sneezy
Remember, Trump's devotees literally believe that Democratic politicians snort children's blood to give them real satanic super powers. This is a thing that they actually believe.

Come on Donald, focus your efforts in your last 72 days on what really matters to you - infecting the rest of your cabinet and staff with COVID...
Meadows this week, Carson today....get in there and make it a clean sweep...
Show everyone that after 4 years of failure, you can accomplish something...

And Trump has about as much possibility of turning the tables as he does of convincing "Melonie" (his tweet) not to leave.
But on a serious note: On the weekend when America set a record for number of new cases, which will in about 3-4 weeks time lead to a record for daily death, Joe set up a Corona task force, Trump fired the Defense Secretary on Twitter and golfed alone.
jack o helen
Great point! Biden has already done more to try to curb the virus than Trump has, and Joe hasn't even officially started his time in office yet.

Well, I have to say that I am now more than ever confident in the strength of our democracy....
This country withstood an overt attack from Russia, which helped elect a Russian stooge as President - who then did his best to try to destroy our freedom and liberty as outlined in our Constitution...
But the American people - over 74 million of them - fought off the attack and reclaimed our democracy...
We must remain cautious and alert because out enemies will try again - to usher in a Trojan Horse waving the American flag but in reality walking all over it...
Fascism and authoritarian has been defeated...for now...
Kaerimashita
It is a long shot but he is within his rights to ask for concerns to be considered or looked into. If not, likely to be another long hot 4 tears.
Kaerimashita
Lincoln, most of what you say is pretty far out
Fascism where? Evidence of Russian stoogery where?
It is that type of overblown rhetoric that has largely driven the awful state of US politics over the last 4 years.
kyushubill
If you favor transparency then let challenges run their course.
BTW, the election has been certified by any state yet. There has been no electoral college vote yet. There is no "President Elect" yet.
lincolnman
Far out? I guess you think believing JFK Jr is alive and blogging on the Dep State is normal... 5G Towers cause COVID? Clorox cures the virus? Elvis supports Biden?
Look at something other than Russia Today or Sputnik, you'll see it..
Overblown rhetoric? What about: "Wearing a mask is a symbol of slavery and is Anti-American". ???????
Kaerimashita
I admire you passion, but still all of what you cite is either plain misrepresented (like the Clorox thing) or not evidence of either Fascism or his being a Russian stooge. I don't recall seeing anywhere a mask being a symbol of slavery......
Happy for you to educate me by showing me rather than just writing talking points.
Midnight Sun Tribe
Shameless use of the courts, but both the Democrats and the Republicans have done that too much. Still, seeing as how Trump's position is universally recognized by anyone not spineless as completely baseless... it will be a nasty but eventually pointless stain on democracy in general. He lost, no-one cheated, and he can whine and litigate people's pockets full of cash but he will be gone and the USA will survive him like it did the USSR.

President Donald Trump shared a tweet on Thursday that argued the mandated use of face masks to control the spread of the coronavirus represents a "culture of silence, slavery, and social death." The argument against masks was made by a right-wing columnist in The Federalist, a conservative online publication, and claimed that mandating the safety measure was "anti-American" and signaled "indefinite government expansion."

I just did...you're welcome...

Trump wants to hold rallies while he makes these fraudulent claims.
What is the purpose of holding rallies? Probably to graft more money from the suckers and to incite his followers. SAD.
Why can't he just go golfing and leave the country alone?
Kaerimashita
Hmmmm....... Not Trump supporter. Rather someone who feels some of the rhetoric and unsubstantiated assertions are unhelpful and sometimes just plain ridiculous.
I didn't think they needed researching as I have seen the video on the Clorox (he didn't say inject Clorox but rather asked a doctor a flippant question along those lines), have seen the whole Russia hoax convincingly disproven (by the Senate and the DoJ et al and have not seen Fascist rallies or concentration camps or censorship or anything that might smack of "Fascism" or "totalitarianism". If anything the democratic and media institutions in the US have worked against his agenda.....
Sven Asai
It won’t take long to realize that not only Trump but you (we) all have lost by a very small margin, and with very severe consequences for generations to come.
