He's going to be fine.
bass4funk
Yup.
Blacklabel
I said it the other day. You can’t give what you don’t have.
Bob Fosse
Then he and his lawyers are breaking the law. Pay up. Do you think “I shredded my drivers license” would be a good defense for a dui?
The Law and Order party again. Next time you inevitably bring up laptops let’s just say “you can’t give what you don’t have” and leave it at that, shall we?
Mocheake
It's a fine day every day.
Can't find the documents? I'm fine with that. Just keep paying that fine.
bass4funk
Prove it. The courts can’t.
Again, how can the occurs prove that the documents are in his possession?
Guess so

Losing...
Trump's lawyers - what a bunch of incompetent buffoons...maybe it's time for Rudy to host another press conference at a lumber yard across from an adult bookstore...
They already have the evidence of his tax and insurance fraud - they got his taxes even though he tried to hide them, and Cohen told them where he fudged all the numbers on Trump's direction...
Trump's only hope is that The Kraken actually shows up this time...otherwise it's welcome to Rikers Island...
lincolnman
Yes, losing is hard...costs him $10K a day.....LOL...
Hillary - still living in his head after five years....
See above...
They already have them - his tax forms which he tried to hide - and failed....

Keep praying...even if he beats the tax charge, he'll still face a judge for his obstruction call to Raffensberger and for those "fraudulent electors and fake, phony certification lists"...
Maybe we can get an explanation of those today?
bass4funk
Soon to be dropped
As with the people suffering from DTS
Congress, for its part, has been engaged in an investigation of the insurrection, and though many more details have been brought to light, it’s unlikely to end in the imprisonment of the former president.

More fines to pay, no biggie.
lincolnman
Soon to be raised....LOL....
Thanks for admitting Hillary is still haunting your brain...that cackling must be tough to live with...
Indeed - and the hearings start in Jun - more e-mails, more tapes...can't wait...what will McCarthy lie about next...
Thanks for admitting he's guilty...
bass4funk
That won’t help the courts or the Dems counter lawsuit brewing. They don’t even have a shred of proof the man has these documents in his possession.
Just like Trump is haunting the Dems brains, but that will end in a few months once the GOP takeover.
and end quickly after another Kabuki theater hearing like the last 3 attempted and failed trials
I never said that nor implied that and stop putting words in my mouth. You guys one again are getting way over your heads and into a fourth disappointment.
Bob Fosse
They did. That’s why he’s paying a daily fine. Read the article, just one time.
I’ll help you, paragraph 8 last sentence.
lincolnman
Sure, you can say that - you're not forking over $10K each day....LOL...
"Just like" - one more admission of Hillary living rent free in your brain...wow, that cackling....
So, what do you think McCarthy will lie about this time?
You said exactly that - you said he'd "pay a fine" - you don't get fined unless you are convicted....therefore, you admitted he's guilty... Glad the light bulb finally came on....
Nothing on the fraudulent electors and fake lists? Not surprising....
Bob Fosse
The great debater strikes again with the “no, you are” defense. Anyone with a minimal amount of intelligence surpassed that in 1st grade. Embarrassing.
2020hindsights
Well this is going to be expensive. Trump better start looking a bit harder, because at $10,000 / day, is going to rack up.
Pukey2
Can't wait for the mid-term elections. Woke vs Whacky! It's amazing how USA finds time to cause trouble abroad when there's so much trouble inside the country.

Because the Trump legal team has failed to explain in what ways Trump keeps records. And at the same time it argues that Trump is sure the records are not in his possession. It is beyond plausibility that a large business wouldn’t know about its own important paperwork.
u_s__reamer
We can assume the missing records have been flushed down the Trump's toilet or disappeared by some other ingenious method employed by this master of mendacity who, taking full advantage of America's laughable lack of accountability for white-collar crime, has had a lifetime's experience of grifting and obstructing justice with impunity. My growing suspicion since January 6 is that the wagons of the deep-state have been surreptitiously circled around the former 45th POTUS and the career politicians in both houses who have aided and abetted that crook and betrayed their oaths of office and shredded the constitution to provide them all with "get-out-of-jail free passes". The stench of silence wafting down from the head of the rotting head of America's body politic suggests that the "institutionalist" masters of "moving on" have been conspiring behind closed doors to "spare" the American people the spectacle of jailing disgraced criminal office holders of all stripes despite the wishes of the majority who have little reason believe any more that justice matters in MAGAmerica.
bass4funk
Exactly.
That will be the argument. And to that point there is no way they can prove the documents are in his possession, they could fine him until he’s technically totally broke (which is the real goal, let’s not kid ourselves here) and then they would just wrap up the case and forget it.
bass4funk
That’s not going to last. Probably the courts will reverse that penalty. Either way, the Dems are going to lose on this one as well and they know it because with the obsession 24/7 these people have of Trump, had these people some real evidence that could derail or get this guy they would have done it. But yeah, it’s all political candy theater for the Trump hating masses, nothing more.
Desert Tortoise
Executing a search warrant on relevant Trump properties would clear the matter up unambiguously. If Mr. Trump was not being truthful that too could have consequence. Perjury is a felony with significant jail time. I don't imagine a judge would be disposed towards leniency the perjury was directed at her.
plasticmonkey
lol
In a cartoon universe.
Desert Tortoise
Based on testimony to the Grand Jury the prosecutors already know what documents exist and where. There has been a parade of witnesses testifying before the Grand Jury about what went on and what paperwork was generated by the Trump organization including who approved payments, what real estate was valued for tax, insurance and bank loan purposes.. They already have knowledge of who approved payments and signed documents. The prosecutors are not operating in a vacuum but having the documents in hand makes their case air tight. I suspect the next move will be to execute a search warrant. If Mr. Trumps signed affidavit to the court proves incorrect and the documents are in his premises or homes he could face charges of perjury.
bass4funk
The Democrats are indeed living in a cartoon universe for sure. Lol
Desert Tortoise
Woke. Sigh. I get tired of being disparaged for having a moral conscience. If treating women as man's equal, acknowledging racism and sexism exists today and affects real lives, and not seeing the world in a binary black/white, good/bad way preferring the Confucian idea of Yin-Yang, accepting the world around us is filled with ambiguity and uncertainty and trying to live with that are considered to be bad qualities then this world has gone to hades. I call it having a conscience and being willing to question my point of view regularly when confronted with new information. Dogmatic rigidity is killing us.
bass4funk
Not always true. That’s one reason why Trump’s lawyers made that claim, they wouldn’t have done it had they not seen a loophole in that one flaw. Good strategic move by his lawyers.
We know.
So basically, they really don’t or have any evidence of serious crimes related and regarding to January 6th so this will fall by the wayside like the other 2 impeachment attempts and the failed Mueller investigation. Interesting. But I really understand why the Dems are desperately going on a limb to at least give their constituents the visual impression that they are doing something productive in regards of 1/6.
Again, visually it looks exciting for the left, legally, they’re tearing their hair follicles out.
theFu
Trump is trying to delay, delay, delay. He's expert at it. The judge should up the contempt fine weekly. Double it each week until Trump's people find the documents.
Just because he claims he doesn't have them, that doesn't mean he doesn't know where they are or who else has them. Not the careful way he and his lawyers state things.
He's a proven liar. A national newspaper counted all his lies from the time he was in office and it was over 30,000 lies.
Heck, a judge CAN place someone in jail when fines aren't sufficient to get them to follow the court's order. Let him sit there a year until he can magically produce the documents. Had other judges done that 25 yrs ago, he would be such a poor human being today.
And let's be clear. Trump isn't a Republican. He simply saw a party with no good leaders lined up, used social networks to push himself and the fed up republics voted for him because the other GOP members running were extremely boring. After all, Pence isn't exactly exciting to anyone in the party. I'd want to check his pulse to see if he were still alive.
bass4funk
And if he really doesn’t have them then what?
If he doesn’t know then what?
So how can you prove it?
So is this administration and your point?
Now imagine if they counted all the lies of this and the previous administrations, it would blow your mind!
So in other words the judge should just ignore the law and incarcerate Trump based on emotion and revenge? Why?
He’s a conservative loving American.
plasticmonkey
lol
This is not an impeachment case, FYI. This has nothing to do with left-right politics. The GOP cannot bail Trump out of this one, even when they regain power later this year. Neither can Fox ‘n little friends.
Tick tock. Trump sure is looking sweaty these days.
plasticmonkey
Trump uses conservatives to get what he wants. He’s a pathetic charlatan and opportunist. A con man. And someday he will face justice.
lincolnman
Well. if Trump does avoid jail (unlikely), and secures the Repub nomination, (doubtful), and somehow wins (nearly impossible)....then I can't wait to see the look on his supporters faces when he enacts new laws restricting weapons...
No more "concealed carry" pineapples, tomatoes, and bananas...
https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-feared-dangerous-fruit-would-be-flung-at-him-at-events-2022-4
Now we know why there's always a pile of banana peels outside the entrances to Trump's rallies - no lethal weapons allowed inside...
bass4funk
I know that, conservatives know that, but do the Dems know it??
Oh, yes it does. Denying that critical point is nothing out pure delusion.
They don’t have to because nothing other than paying hefty fines is going to happen. Try and read some of the previous articles I sent, the Dems know they have nothing on Trump this is all political theater for their base to let them have their pound of flesh.
No, he doesn’t. But I get the liberals are because as you say, time is not on their side, no, it’s really not. November is just right around the corner. Tick Tock!
bass4funk
Yeah, a safe and free American which seems something the Dems hate these days
half the country didn’t think so
Yeah, yeah, 7 years and we keep hearing that. You need to convicted of crime to be considered a criminal. Doesn’t look like it’s shaping up in the manner the Dems wanted. Lol
bass4funk
Likely
Him or DeSantis other than that, that’s it.
After two years of destroying this nation if Democrats can get elected to run a McDonald’s would be a huge accomplishment.
