There will be plenty of time for investigating them all when the big orange cheese is excreted from office. Hopefully in January of next year....

In recent months Pompeo has moved U.S. foreign policy forcefully to the right -- encouraging a drone strike that killed a top Iranian general

I am against the US droning policy, but the the count is still that Obama droned people than anyone else.

> and promoting a theory, discounted by mainstream scientists, that the COVID-19 pandemic originated in a Chinese laboratory.

Which "mainstream scientists" exactly disputed the concept that the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where they were were researching Corona viruses (and published widely about it) had nothing to do with the outbreak?

The way the "mainstream" media has turned from newsreporting to agitprop is amazing.

Trump sacked State Department Inspector General Steve Linick late on Friday in his latest abrupt dismissal of an official tasked with monitoring wrongdoing inside a government agency.

And the crime cabal and mob-type behavior continues....

Get rid of anyone with integrity, honesty, and commitment to democracy...

Replace them with sycophants, cronies, and those who love tyranny...

The vast majority of them.

A Democratic congressional aide, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Linick was probing complaints that Pompeo misused a political appointee to perform personal tasks for himself and his wife.

We all know that Fox News/OAN and their Kool-aid drinkers who will defend Trump for doing this would’ve lost their collective minds and called for impeachment if Obama had. Zero doubt there. I look forward to their demonstrating that rank hypocrisy yet again.

That being said, for the rational among us, while firing the SDIG reeks on its own, the claim that Linick was probing a complaint against Pompeo needs to be verified. Right now it’s “just” a claim from an anonymous source. We wouldn’t to leap to accepting claims by anonymous sources as truth without investigation. Time to investigate another likely instance of how this administration thinks it is above any ethical, legal, moral restraints.

and promoting a theory, discounted by mainstream scientists, that the COVID-19 pandemic originated in a Chinese laboratory.

Considering the heavy funding the CCP is providing western universities, I am sure they have a large supply of researchers willing to "dispute" any criticism of China.

But one famous scientist that believes the CCP virus was likely engineered in the Wuhan lab is Professor Luc Montagnier, 2008 Nobel Prize winner for Medicine (he isolated the HIV virus).

You can hear him explain this here:

https://www.cnews.fr/emission/2020-04-17/lheure-des-pros-du-17042020-947840

It's in French, and you have to skip over the 1st hour which is dedicated to a singer who died recently.

All those "checks and balances" in government have become just a vague memory...

It takes time to fire people when every single person you fire (or even demote) is presented as a potential impeachable offense, obstruction of some or other "justice" and requires Congressional hearings.

After which we find the complainers are lifelong Democrats and are working on a "tell all" book. Give 48 hours for the "anonymous Dem congressional staff" narrative to clear out then we might hear the actual facts of what happened.

Does Trump do more firing than hiring?

The fact that the SDIG was fired, whether or not he was even investigating Pompeo, reeks.

And, if it pans out that Linick was probing a complaint against Pompeo when he was fired, would you yes or no have an issue with the firing? I’d like to hear at least one Trump partisan stake a position there.

yes or no?

14 ( +14 / -0 )

No issue whatsoever. Investigations are not done by one person. His firing actually draws more attention to this, so we will surely find out what really happened now. Strangely, we didnt hear anything about an investigation into this until after he was fired.

If you cant be fired just because you are probing a complaint against your boss, would you ever be fired? Just always claim you are investigating your boss and never end it or come to any conclusion. then he cant fire you and you have lifetime employment.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Linick was "punished for honorably performing his duty to protect the Constitution and our national security."

A badge of honor. You only get fired by Trump if you're honest and capable.

If Trump and most of his administration were replaced by an actual Mafia Crime Family, no one would notice the difference.

Its not even 7am the next day yet. we already have statements from the Committee chairman and the Democrat Speaker of the House as well as an anonymous complaint from their staff. about something that didnt happen in their office, but the State Department.

Almost like the media has prewritten stories and advanced quotes with anonymous sourcing for anyone who Trump might fire. Or they have these people on speed dial for midnight calls.

Not true. At least the Mafia operate with a criminal code of conduct, Trump has no code of conduct at all.

The dark cloud that descended on the United States of American on November 8, 2016 continues to do as much damage as it possibly can to the nation.

November 3, 2020 becomes more important than ever to begin the mitigation process and start bringing a level of sanity to government in the USA.

Lolololol Seriously? Your complaint is that they broke the news too fast, not that yet another IG was fired? Okay.

I guess you're just not used to the fact that not everyone is as lazy as Trump.

not just “broke the news”.

had Pelosi and schiff on record within minutes at midnight on a Friday. Already telling us what they insist happened, without evidence.

Again, they're just harder working than the president.

Gerald Walpin.

https://www.politico.com/blogs/under-the-radar/2010/06/former-watchdog-walpin-loses-suit-over-firing-027625

Walpin has claimed that his firing was political retaliation for his opposition to wasteful spending by the agency and for his aggressive investigation of a friend of Obama, Sacramento Mayor and former NBA player Kevin Johnson. The White House stridently denied any such motivation.

and Hey look here:

Roberts said a federal law passed in 2008 with Obama's support, the Inspector General Reform Act, did not allow Walpin the right to sue over what he contends was an improper removal. The judge also said that the requirement in the statute that Obama give Congress his reasons for any such firing was too vague for the courts to assess whether Obama's claim that he'd lost confidence in Walpin was sufficient.
