Say what you want, Mr. President. I think I'll trust the guy on the right.

The effects of the con man's terrible response is starting to bother his supporters with the 135,000 deaths, 11%+ unemployment, and poor economy. He now has to find another person to blame. Reality is setting in for the old folks and racists that once supported him! No one cares about the Redskins or confederate, and he lost against the BLM movement. His base is shrinking. The lies, stupidity and racist behavior was tolerated by conservatives when trump was riding the coat tail of Pres. Obama's stable economy. After ruining everything, he has nothing to brag about. Only thing left is failed response to COVID-19 which continues to control the news cycle.
LOL! trump now wants to attack Dr. Fauci the only person with any real credibility about virus infections because trump refused to listen to Dr. Fauci and did not follow the plan CDC recommended. He will continue to throw anyone and anybody under the bus to save his turkey neck!
Mickelicious
'Trauma bonding:' classic narcissistic behaviour.

His ego might get the better of him, yet.
If he does fire the good doctor, it will be to the detriment of the country and his campaign for re-election.

Trump, like all despots before him (and now) needs to constantly find 'others' to blame for any and all problems. Trump uses every possible issue as a wedge issue to further divide his followers from the general population, i.e. the majority of Americans. Trump knows it's easier to keep his base riled up by naming enemies to fear and hate because he no longer has anything positive to say about his reign.
The Avenger
Trust the nation's leading health expert for decades or the guy who's told 19,000 documented lies in 3 years?
Trump has hated scientists since he found out they believe the sun doesn't revolve around him.
ulysses
The problem with the trump administration illiterates is that they haven't understood anything that Dr. Fauci and other scientists have told them. In the early days Dr. Fauci had always warned that there was little information about the virus and things could change.
But the uneducated administration, with their 'Never admit to mistakes' policy have taken us to the brink.
Now that the attack on Dr. Fauci seems to be backfiring , trump is trying to appear more conciliatory.
Boy he must be really scared to come down so much so fast!!!
oldman_13
Trump M.O., anyone that dares to disagree with him or fail to fawn over his every word and "expertise," will soon find themselves in the hot seat and the character attacks start followed by slowly discarding them to the side unceremoniously like yesterday's trash.
Karma's coming this November, Trump and fans.

When a declining mortality rate, probably a blip, nothing more, is the metric used by Trump etal as an indicator of something positive happening during his watch it's pretty easy for those outside the Trump silo to say
the US is not doing great.
lincolnman
So tell us, which Trump is right...
The one that tweeted wearing a mask is "Anti-American?"
Or the one that wore a mask at Walter Reed?
SuperLib
So Trump sends his minions out to throw Fauci under the bus, then turns around and says he has a great relationship with him. Now his supporters can choose a little from column A and a little from column B....
lincolnman
Oh, I see... So the one that tweeted that wearing a mask was Anti-American, and promoted a culture of slavery...
That Trump was wrong.
Then why did he re-tweet it?
lincolnman
I agree - it makes sense to wear a mask - in a hospital or anyplace you can't do distancing...
But Trump tweeted that to wear a mask is "Anti-American"....
So he's either Anti-American for wearing the mask at Walter Reed....
Or he was selling BS and lies to his millions of Twitter followers....
Since you have said he was right in wearing the mask, then you believe he was peddling lies on Twitter...
Glad to see the light bulb us finally coming on for you...
lincolnman
How do Trump supporters believe anything that comes out of this Trump's mouth?
First he says anyone that wears a mask is "Anti-American" and promotes a "culture of slavery"...
Then a week later, totally flips and says he's OK with wearing a mask and wears one at Walter Reed....
That's like saying he is pure pro-life, then a week layer saying he believes in abortion on demand...
Or says he supports the 2nd Amendment, then next week says he's all for an assault weapons ban...
Maybe that is why Trump supporters live in a constant state of fear - they're scared he'll flip and cave on some other issue they hold dear...
lincolnman
Yep, said he liked Hillary and Bill Clinton too - said they were "great people"....and that she was a "hard worker"...
Want to list anything else he's flipped on?

I believe Dr. Fauci made no ‘mistakes’. There is a reason Covid-19 is called a “novel” coronavirus...”novel” because it was never encountered before. Dr. Fauci exercised caution when making statements, made corrections when the virus proved us wrong, and brought a sense of decency and a wealth of knowledge to combat this deadly disease process. The White House STILL thinks it’s all about the economy (screw the pandemic!) but what they fail to realize is that when the workforce is decimated/depleted by Covid, there is NO economy. Good god, when we hear people like Larry Kudlow promoting ‘just get back to work/school‘ idiocy, we know the depths of depravity of this administration.
ClippetyClop
Fauci caught on the wrong side of Trump's lies. He's unwilling to live on Trump's fantasy island, where Corona has been beaten and everyone must alt-fact the man towards re-election. He keeps doing his job and 'telling it how it is'. This is unacceptable to Trump's alternative reality.
lincolnman
Sure he has Donald; he's called the virus "a hoax", said it was "contained", and that it was "just one person from China"....
He's even said the virus would just "disappear", right?
Only in America (and maybe Russia), would 30% of the population take their medical advice from a failed businessman and former realty TV host, instead of a career epidemiologist and medical professional...
One says to social distance, wear a mask, and wash your hands...
The other says to inject disinfectant, use blue light suppositories, and have your pastor "blow the virus away"....
lincolnman
Who's has credibility on the virus and who doesn't?
Dr Fauci, along with the Surgeon General, Pence, McConnell, and even Sean Hannity have said wear a mask...
But Trump re-tweeted this; ...mandated use of face masks represents a "culture of silence, slavery, and social death, and is Anti-American"...
https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-shares-tweet-that-says-masks-represent-slavery-and-social-death-2020-5
Yet, who wore a mask when visiting Walter Reed?
Yes, our Great Anti-American President...
RichardPearce
Fauci (and the WHO, plus Fauci's equivalents in all the EU states and Canada) said that masks were effectively useless for a member of the general public to wear to protect THEMSELVES, and that them doing so was a severe risk to the health care system because it would mean that the health care workers who've had the training and practice that allows them to use these masks to vastly reduce their rate of infections would all be unavailable to care for the general public because they wouldn't have masks and so would all be infected.
Now that there are enough masks for the health care workers AND the general public to be able to wear them on a regular basis, they are telling the general public to wear masks, NOT because the general public can protect THEMSELVES by doing so, because they still are effectively useless for that, but rather to protect everyone ELSE.
The only folks who think this is a 'flip flop' or 'being wrong on masks' would consider it a 'flip flop' or 'being wrong on borrowing' at being told they shouldn't borrow money to turn their rented apartment into a 'party house', but should borrow money to buy a house.
lincolnman
Words? How about the exact tweet; P*resident Donald Trump shared a tweet on Thursday that argued the mandated use of face masks to control the spread of the coronavirus represents a "culture of silence, slavery, and social death." The argument against masks was made by a right-wing columnist in The Federalist, a conservative online publication, and claimed that mandating the safety measure was "anti-American" and signaled "indefinite government expansion." "Mandatory masks are a critical predicate conditioning us to accept abuses of our liberty," columnist Molly McCann wrote in the Wednesday piece.*
So Trump re-tweeted this, yet a week later on his visit to Walter Reed worse a mask....
Which Trump is right?
lincolnman
It was a lot more - anytime you call someone who wears a mask "Anti-America", that's a pretty serious charge.
Pence, McConnell, Hannity, the Surgeon General - all wear a mask.
So Trump is saying all these members of his cabinet and Repubs are "Anti-American"....
To now include himself...
Seapig
Trump been wrong more than right. That’s not the definition of a “president”.
There, fixed it...
lincolnman
Wow, looks like we have a new member of the formerly "great and absolute best" club who are now "wackos and liars"....
Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney on Monday criticized the U.S. coronavirus testing process, calling his family’s difficulties in obtaining tests and delays in the results “inexcusable” in the seventh month of the pandemic, splitting from his former boss’ repeated boasts about testing.
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/13/mulvaney-coronavirus-testing-359695
Seems like the number of former Trump staff "wackos and liars" is getting larger than his inauguration crowd...
lincolnman
So what? Trump didn't say wearing a mask is "Anti-American", unless you're in a hospital...he just said it was Anti-American and a culture of slavery....
So, which Trump is right?
wtfjapan
Time to try someone else, he isn’t the only person educated in these things.
"Time to find somebody else who's prepared to be Trumps parrot regardless of the scientific evidence" there fixed that for you
NCIS Reruns
I'm waiting for the usual crowd of Trump supporters to march in here and tell the "liberals" how wrong they are about everything. Or could they be the climbing number of deaths is giving them reservations about the competence (and sanity) of the man they've been defending these past three years? Yoo-hoo, come on out, guys --- you're becoming conspicuous by your absence.
stormcrow
The guy on the left is a lying dumb-ass and the guy on the right is truthful & highly intelligent.
Hmm. For the safety of myself and my family, which one should I believe and trust?
Serrano
Dr. Fauci is just one of many people advising Trump. It's Trump's job to take into consideration all the facts and opinions and make decisions.
Blacklabel
You do know Walter Reed is a hospital, right? That answers your question. Has he worn a mask anywhere else, before or since?
Blacklabel
The one who wore a mask.....in a hospital. That Trump.
Blacklabel
Yeah that narrative totally makes sense. Go with that one, its a keeper.
Im sticking with, he wore a mask..... in a hospital. Criticize that all you want. totally makes sense too.
bass4funk
Yeah, that’s a cute fantasy idea, but now let’s deal with reality. So should we listen to Fauci or not? Which is it? Help me find the answer to this perplexing Question.
That will always be.
Blacklabel
Yeah so whenever Fauci was wrong, it was just him being "careful" until he knew the answer at the same time as everyone else. then adjusted what he said to match what everyone else know knew. Some expert.
I dont need someone to tell me things at the same time I already know them.
in a hospital. why are you so upset that he finally wore a mask one time. You complained for weeks that we wouldnt, then we he does, you complain some more.
Blacklabel
Fauci been wrong more than right. That’s not the definition of an “expert”. Time to try someone else, he isn’t the only person educated in these things.
Blacklabel
Don’t need masks, go take a cruise. the Gilead drug is the primary cure, the constant flip flopping on lockdowns,
supporting the WHO. allowing himself to be politicized by constant begging to be on tv. Pushing the “community spread” is the problem narrative not protests. Total silence during the actual protest time period and tepid response when finally forced to answer (wasn’t a good idea) Among others.
this is not how an expert acts. He’s guessing.
Blacklabel
At that time, they did not say save the masks for health care workers. Fauci said they dont work and dont protect you.
So if a mask cant protect me, and I dont have coronavirus, then why does someone else need protection from me? There is no risk for me to harm them.
Plus their own mask wont protect themself anyway, right?
Blacklabel
so let me recap.
If I wear a mask, it doesnt protect ME. It simply prevents me from giving coronavirus to someone else. But I dont have coronavirus.
Ok lets say I do have it.
The other person is wearing a mask, which doesnt protect THEM. the only way they are protected is by MY mask. This is the story now?
Blacklabel
no, he visited a hospital and wore a mask. nothing more, nothing less.
Blacklabel
the guy on the right said this during the most crucial moment
Masks. The only people who need masks are those who are already infected to keep from exposing others. The masks sold at drugstores aren't even good enough to truly protect anyone, Fauci said.
"If you look at the masks that you buy in a drug store, the leakage around that doesn't really do much to protect you," he said. "People start saying, 'Should I start wearing a mask?' Now, in the United States, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to wear a mask."
and this
Top disease official: Risk of coronavirus in USA is 'minuscule'; skip mask and wash hands
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2020/02/17/nih-disease-official-anthony-fauci-risk-of-coronavirus-in-u-s-is-minuscule-skip-mask-and-wash-hands/4787209002/
bass4funk
I couldn’t agree more.
Well, Fauci said we should reopen the schools, not the Democrats say, we shouldn’t listen to Fauci. He says, we should wear a mask, now we should listen to him, so these people keep moving the goalposts, I’m so confused, we listen to this so called expert or we don’t.
Blacklabel
A president is elected.
Who elected Fauci again?
Blacklabel
Its plain to see that liberals only like Fauci because he is a contrarian. Often contrarian to himself, as he flip flops on masks and schools and other topics. Liberal media says he has "evolved as the science changes" to defend this.
He tells the person he is speaking to at the time what he thinks they want to hear. So one thing for Trump, another thing for CNN, another thing for Gilead drug company.
Where was his expert advice when Cuomo put infected people in nursing homes with healthy people?
Where was his advice to stay home when the protests started? He was missing from the earth until that was all done, as he didnt want to be seen as being anti BLM or in opposition to the "protests dont spread COVID" media narrative.
Blacklabel
He will be fine, he was a Democrat for nearly all his life, old habits die hard.
Blacklabel
you just cant seem to realize what he says is sometimes just a distraction from what he does.
sad you still havent figured that out.
Blacklabel
Fauci said a mask is not needed. During the most critical time where it could have made a difference.
Of course once he saw Trump didnt want to wear a mask, he became insistent that it was necessary.
If Trump said oxygen is critical to breathe, Fauci would be "unsure" if that is the case or not.
