Trump says Kim summit all about attitude, not preparation"

OMG....why does this sound like he's saying "I couldn't be bothered to read all those expert's reports and advisories....I'm just gonna wing it.

"I don't think I have to prepare very much," Trump said.

The "Hold my beer" strategy : thinking that you can do better than others while drunk and with zero experience.

"I think it's not a one-meeting deal," he said.

If he negotiate the same way as in the Middle-East, I couldn't agree more.

At the same time he complains about having to go to the G7 meeting because it distracts him with the NK meeting coming up. Can't get his stories straight.

It's actually a fairly plausible negotiation process. Know the goals, go in with an open mind as to how to achieve them.

The problem here is that we're dealing with bait-and-switch Don, who can sometimes talk sane, then act crazy. We'll see what happens, if anything even happens. I'm hoping for the best, but realistically accepting that we may get the worst.

He’s supposed to leave the details of the negotiations to the experts. That’s what he is doing.

Um, he's been claiming he's the negotiation expert.

Is that his approach to his entire life?

I hope the talks are a success.

Despite the efforts to sabotage it from Bolton, Pence and most recently, Giuliani.

I would have thought some of his success was based on what people who worked for him did.

You wouldn't know that when you listen to Trump go on about how awesome he is.

He is, By being "Trump" and leaving the details to others.

If only he had even a shred of a history of actually listening to others, or of hiring others with actual qualifications and expertise in the areas they are meant to manage.

Because a scant few months ago he was threatening nuclear war, and now the only "experts" he's going to have around him are going to be a FOX News propagandist, a certified bigot with a made-up Ph. D and a made-up Nazi middle initial, and a National Security Adviser who can't get a "spring in his step" unless the US is bombing some non-whites somewhere in the world.

terrible attitude + complete lack of preparation = blubbering trump blaming someone/anyone else for his inevitable gaffes and faux pas. kim's going to walk away from the table so fast, whatever that thing on trump's head is is going to spin.

What a dufus. It is more like marketing.

The big questions are, what is he selling and how much does it cost?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Oh so then the fact that Trump is a billionaire and a successful businessman and TV guy is ALL just what he has personally done?

The guy is tremendously good at marketing. No question about it.

That is all he is good at.

キャンペーンちゅう!

6 bankruptcies, the Trump University scam, loads of small businesses left being owed money and let's see - he molested women whilst a reality tv star.

If that's his preparation and attitude towards people, it's a legit. concern to be worried over the summit.

It could possibly be the start of a fantastic period of modernization and growth for a lot of Asia-let’s hope things go well!

Most Presidents don’t listen to others and this especially, but why is that a surprise for thr left? We know that and I think it’s good he breaks the mold sometimes, keeps things from becoming stagnant.

Because a scant few months ago he was threatening nuclear war, and now the only "experts" he's going to have around him are going to be a FOX News propagandist,

If they were propagandist, their ratings would be with Alex Jones’s.

A bigot? How so? Impossible.

Dear Lord....the left, the left......oh, boy..

He is, By being "Trump" and leaving the details to others. You know, like a President or a CEO does. All he has to do is show up with his name and position and things get done.

Hmmmmm.....didn’t work s far for 30 years, so let’s try something different, I’m all for spontaneity.

Oh so then the fact that Trump is a billionaire and a successful businessman and TV guy is ALL just what he has personally done? No one helped him? If so, even better! I would have thought some of his success was based on what people who worked for him did. Guess not. Man, Trump is awesome.

If only he had even a shred of a history of actually listening to others, or of hiring others with actual qualifications and expertise in the areas they are meant to manage.

And if he mentions one word about Japanese hostages, I wonder whether Kim will do the walking out. Or I wonder whether Trump will just ignore what his minion has been begging him to do.
