How has this man not been sectioned yet?

“Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying this is a great thing that’s happening for our country,” Trump said. “This is a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody.”

I'm pretty sure that George would rather be alive. This has to be right up there in his top 10 of insensitive comments during his vanity driven administration...

35 ( +37 / -2 )

Using George Floyd as a way to try and run a victory lap? Over a JOBS REPORT?

How disgusting can one man be?

How self centered?

How utterly... *despicable***?**

Well, I guess we're learning... because Donald Trump seems to know nothing except how to prove again and again, not only is he not qualified to be President... he's just a foul human being.

35 ( +38 / -3 )

This jobs report is surprisingly good news. Except for the Democrats.

How has this man not been sectioned yet?

Sectioned? Explain!

-34 ( +6 / -40 )

I actually do not believe the jobs numbers today. Do you? I bet they were fabricated by the trump administration. We are getting closer to that 20,000 number of lies.

16 ( +21 / -5 )

As always, deTrump sees everything HIS way!

How dare he (deTrump) using George Floyd's name?

Sweeping unrest, rising COVID19 infections and so on ....

Doesn't he have anything better to do?

But he probably doesn't know any better!

12 ( +15 / -3 )

Serrano...."sectioned" means placed in a psychiatric hospital based on a section of the mental health act. It's British English. Often referred to as a 5150 in parts of the US.

What did you think he meant? Something more Caesarean?

29 ( +30 / -1 )

This jobs report is surprisingly good news. Except for the Democrats.

If the numbers can be believed - Trump's deep state has been told to 'intentionally misinform' ala Trump - that's good news. The 'Democrats/libs/etc'. dwelling inside the heads of so many Trump supporters aren't real. They're imagined voices. No elected official of any party wants Americans in their districts out of work.

16 ( +17 / -1 )

Under the circumstance, it's better than could reasonably be expected. All countries have been left with a great many problems to rectify.

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

The above photo an accurate representation of the Trump admin and the demographic they're in DC to serve. Trump's swamp is growing and getting more toxic.

15 ( +15 / -0 )

Goodbye weird hiccup in the US’s history. 7 more months and the boot will connect on the rump of Trump.

18 ( +20 / -2 )

Trump quoting his small unemployment fall with the death of George Floyd was him deflecting from the real situation that more than 40 million people are not working. The Black unemployment rate remains high and continues to increase.

Covid-19, 107,000 dead, 1.8 million infected.

A botched pandemic response in the US has led to an astounding death toll, a sky-high unemployment rate, and rising inequality.

Cost of the Covid-19 is more than $7 trillion and will remain a black mark against his term of office. National Debt is $25 trillion, $6 trillion more than when he started his term. The greatest increase under any president ever.

Trump is a failed TV Reality show which would be having it's next season renewed.

He has about five months to fix his car wreck before the ballot boxes do.

23 ( +25 / -2 )

7 more months and the boot will connect on the rump of Trump.

Thank goodness. Then we can all piss on his memory, like what he's done to Mr Floyd.

16 ( +19 / -3 )

He is delusional. I'm convinced that he believes his own lies.

15 ( +18 / -3 )

Well this isn’t the bad news that Democrats and the Bidets were hoping for. No worries- Trump is a terrible political candidate. All Biden has to do is hold it together for another five months and he has a better than even chance of being elected the 46th President of the United States. At which point the FBI will reveal that he is being investigated for collusion with the Chinese.

-21 ( +1 / -22 )

I actually do not believe the jobs numbers today. Do you? I bet they were fabricated by the trump administration. We are getting closer to that 20,000 number of lies.

I don't recall anyone ever disputing figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics before.

How has this man not been sectioned yet?

Biden should be sectioned for saying 10-15% of Americans are not good people.

Goodbye weird hiccup in the US’s history. 7 more months and the boot will connect on the rump of Trump.

Nah, 4 more years.

7 more months and the boot will connect on the rump of Trump.

Thank goodness. Then we can all piss on his memory, like what he's done to Mr Floyd.

Trump hasn't pissed on Mr. Floyd's memory. However the rioters and the looters have.

-23 ( +4 / -27 )

What people should be pushing here is that Trump is acting like a ruler, and doing his best to dictate how the country should be run.

The nuances of those words alone, repeated over and over, will sink in, and people will hopefully realize once and for all, that Trump is not a leader!

12 ( +13 / -1 )

At this point I think we all can see he's just blustering, trying to come up with anything positive while his world crashes and collapses around him.

He must be stressing because there's always the question of whether or not he's going to jail after he loses.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

Wouldn't that be a hell of a trajectory. President - Prisoner. Then dead of old age. Sealing his legacy.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

Goodbye weird hiccup in the US’s history. 7 more months and the boot will connect on the rump of Trump.

Hopefully. But I'm afraid that Trump will refuse to leave the WH if he loses. I'm all for Trump staying if he's legitimately elected - even though I hope he's dumped by the voters. What's fair is fair. But if he loses then my worry is he will call it fake news (he always does) and not leave the WH.

And why is Trump embracing BLM when he used to call them terrorists? Trump's followers also consistently called BLM terrorists. Why the change? Next Trump is going to call ANTIFA good people.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

These are all worthless part-time jobs that add nothing to the economy, and therefore don't matter.

The above was the argument when Obama added so many jobs to the economy, so many months in a row.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

I don't recall anyone ever disputing figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics before.

I don't recall ever having a US president who's told so many lies.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Trump hasn't pissed on Mr. Floyd's memory.

He's paranoid about the black vote. He is racist (said Obama was born in Kenya). Also, he held up the bible at the church because he's worried about the votes of the Jesus freaks. It's so funny that Trump used to trash BLM and now he's embracing them like he is their best friend or something. Next he's going to embrace ANTIFA the way he's going. Trump and his people would also be like BLM this....and that....and they are terrorists. Now Trump is kissing their butts. Really really funny.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

In usual Trump form he's going to spend the months leading up to November spewing complete misinformation spun to create a fantasy picture of the state of the country and his abilities as President. He will squeeze and push the pencil pushers and statisticians to produce numbers that meet his needs lest they be fired. Republicans who have sold their souls will support him for fear of losing their poltical careers. This is all clear and obvious to anyone, regardless of party affiliation, who has half a brain between their ears. Or, their livlihoods don't depend on supporting Trump's fantasy.

The United States has been dragged through the mud for the last 3 and a half years. We need to regain our unity, our leadership, repect of our allies, we need to throw this racist-in-chief out of the White House and Make America Great Again.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Trump could not even make TrumpCare work even though Republicans had complete control for his first two years. Even Obama could make ObamaCare work in his first two years. What has Trump accomplished during his first four years. He can't be consistent with what he calls terrorist groups. He (and his followers especially) used to call BLM a bunch of terrorists and now Trump is the best friend of BLM? But Trump will need any vote to stay alive. I'm predicting he will play nice with ANTIFA in order to get more votes from these "terrorists" Wait and see because Trump did a complete 180 on BLM.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

The president spoke in the Rose Garden after the Labor Department said that U.S. employers added 2.5 million workers to their payrolls last month.

Consider that 60% of those furloughed (out of 20 million) were assumed get their job back - in some fashion (meaning reduced hours / wages / benefits). I don't see how Trump can take a victory lap here for something he didn't do or had any influence over - not like that's the first time he's ever took credit for something he didn't do. Notice he likes to put something shiny in folks faces to try and distract everyone from his disastrous handling of COVID-19 - that was supposed to be completely gone by April (by his own accounts).

10 ( +10 / -0 )

The unemployment numbers had nowhere to go but up.

Trump claiming credit for companies hiring some people back is as batpoop crazy as Trump taking credit for companies hiring some people back.

Trump can't be compared to anything but himself.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

“Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying this is a great thing that’s happening for our country,” Trump said. “This is a great day for him."

If anyone else had made such an insensitive and thoughtless remark, I would be speechless, but I'm not since it is just par for the course coming from the mouth of Tourettes Trump, a pathetic individual who can't avoid stepping in it and saying the wrong thing. His sudden pivot on the protests to declare a double victory lap over covid and the economic malaise is clearly Trump clutching at straws. He's not waving. He's drowning.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

He still stands there and tries to be president...its a good thing that Obama came out and calmed everything down...

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Talk about a premature victory lap. Somebody tell this jackass that 40 million Americans are still unemployed and about a thousand of them died of Covid 19 today.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

This jobs report is surprisingly good news. Except for the Democrats.

How has this man not been sectioned yet?

Sectioned? Explain!

Bingo! Nothing more to add to that.

Trump quoting his small unemployment fall with the death of George Floyd was him deflecting from the real situation that more than 40 million people are not working. The Black unemployment rate remains high and continues to increase.

Yeah, sorry, that’s not going to work. Floyd’s death has nothing to do with the amazing results that surprised everyone especially Wall St. Estimates are that the recovery will be faster than previous thought if it continues on this trajectory. That’s astounding news the President needs because the ONLY THING that matters is the economy at this point, the Dems helped Trump again and didn’t even know it.

Friday’s new unemployment number would go as high as 20%. Instead, it fell to 13.3% in May from 14.7% in April.

Covid-19, 107,000 dead, 1.8 million infected.

Sad, but life goes on.

A botched pandemic response in the US has led to an astounding death toll, a sky-high unemployment rate, and rising inequality.

And this new news is exactly the uplift the country needs. Thanks to Trump’s response because had he or close he country down, thousands more would die.

Cost of the Covid-19 is more than $7 trillion and will remain a black mark against his term of office. National Debt is $25 trillion, $6 trillion more than when he started his term. The greatest increase under any president ever.

Trust me, whenever Dem gets in office by implementing their toxic radical policies will bypass everything and every debt that Trump has made.

Trump is a failed TV Reality

14 seasons one of the highest at the time.

He has about five months to fix his car wreck before the ballot boxes do.

Naw, if the economy continues to be this promising and democrats go around talking about defending the police and people can see that liberals want a complete loss society, he’ll slide into second term with zero problems.

-23 ( +2 / -25 )

Divide and conquer?

Trump doesn't seem to have his eye on the ball, or does he? He's a shark . . . and by hook or by crook . . . he'll do his damnedest to win re-election in November. He doesn't even need a majority of the voters to win, just in the electoral.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

he’ll slide into second term with zero problems.

His backup plans is he won't leave the WH in the first place even if he loses. Trump is so desperate that he is courting BLM and soon he'll be courting ANTIFA for their votes. This is just too crazy. Just days ago (before Floyd) Trump and his people called BLM terrorists.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

If unemployment had really increased then there would be an outburst-so many people are disappointed over good news!

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Victory over racism!!! Perfect!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Trump has not hit rock bottom. I know this because history repeats itself and he has shown us time and time again that he can continually stoop to new and disgusting lows.

15 ( +16 / -1 )

Biden should be sectioned for saying 10-15% of Americans are not good people.

And he is in that group!

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Look at the definition of the word "fascism"

a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

>  a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control

Without a doubt THIS is the definition of one Donald Trump! If Trump wasn't ruling the US, these "antifa" wouldn't be raising their heads at this time!

Trump has only himself to blame! He is the Fascist here!

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Floyd’s death has nothing to do with the amazing results that surprised everyone

So why did trump mention him?

11 ( +11 / -0 )

I don't recall anyone ever disputing figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics before.

Donald Trump actually did this all the time.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

because the ONLY THING that matters is the economy at this point,

No, it isn't. There are plenty of other things that matter. Like police acting like Gestapo.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

What is it with Repubs and "Mission Accomplished" bizarre photo ops...

George Bush did one and the war went on for 12 more years...

Now Donald is trying to con Americans into thinking that COVID is over and the economy isn't a smoking hole when the death toll is approaching 110K and 41K are unemployed? Well, what can you expect from someone who suggests injecting disinfectant...

I guess maybe like his pastor supporter, he is going to "blow all the bad news away"...

Earth to Donald, don't blow on us - you won't even wear a mask like your CDC recommends...and you reek of Big Macs...

10 ( +10 / -0 )

bass4funk

And this new news is exactly the uplift the country needs. Thanks to Trump’s response because had he or close he country down, thousands more would die.

Yesterday, you called Covid-19 a hype.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

 110K and 41K are unemployed?

More like 21 MILLION not 41,000

5 ( +5 / -0 )

That’s astounding news the President needs because the ONLY THING that matters is the economy at this point

You brilliantly blew out of the water the idea that the economy is the ONLY THING that matters by telling us how non-partisan historians ( still unnamed ) regard the Bush 2 years as a success despite the economy flying off a cliff on his watch. You also said the economy was a disaster under Obama and yet he thrashed Romney in 2012.

A very persuasive case that the economy isn’t the only thing that matters to voters.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

because the ONLY THING that matters is the economy at this point,

The only time that only one thing would matter, would be a civilization destroying event, like an approaching meteor. Otherwise, abandoning everything for a single issue is never the case.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Trust me, whenever Dem gets in office by implementing their toxic radical policies will bypass everything and every debt that Trump has made.

Why would we trust you? You've shown a willingness to be disingenuous and hyper-partisan on any topic, and you have shown that your predictions are inaccurate as well, like when you predicted Trump was a looney who couldn't win. Something you were still saying right up to the election.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Now Donald is trying to con Americans into thinking that COVID is over and the economy isn't a smoking hole when the death toll is approaching 110K and 41K are unemployed?

The real question is whether he believes the spin, or knows it's spin.

And whether or not he realizes the people know it's spin.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

@David Varnes

Using George Floyd as a way to try and run a victory lap? Over a JOBS REPORT? How disgusting can one man be? How self centered?

This is a rerun of the comment he made a couple of years ago, claiming that all Americans who had ever died in service of the country would be impressed by Trump's presidency:

"Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for blacks and hispanics EVER (& women in 18 years), rebuilding our military and so much more. Nice!"

And there are people, including some in this thread, who line up behind every single corrupt, unethical, criminal, hypocritical, and dishonourable thing he does and says.

This is a personality cult, and Donald Trump is America's Gaddafi.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

More than 40 million have made a claim for unemployment benefit but millions have been waiting more than two months to receive it because the system is overwhelmed. The food bank lines are overwhelmed with hungry people.

An increas in jobs is good but a return to pre Covid-19 will take a long time, beyond the November ballot boxes.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

If there has been any improvement in the covid 19 situation in America I am going to blame spring. But the latest numbers I see is 975 deaths yesterday and 25,393 new cases and 1,115,672 active cases. Trump is all talk. He is a con man. He has always been a con man. And its been dead obvious all along.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Dang. I thought Kim Jong Un was the Rocket Man, but looks like Trump has been the key to the rocket ship all along.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

There are no longer 41 million unemployed, likely never were. Also the economy is not crashing anymore, as the market is 94% back to its highest level.

Please update the Dem talking points presented as original content here.

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

Also the economy is not crashing anymore, as the market is 94% back to its highest level.

Then how come Trump is so desperate that he is courting the BLM vote when days ago he and his followers were saying BLM were terrorists. Trump is so desperate that he will be courting ANTIFA votes soon.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Because he wanted to.

You're not making any sense. You said that George Floyd has nothing to do with it.

So why do radical liberals continue to divide the nation? Shame on them!

Another non sequitur.

I'm concerned that you seem to be awfully confused.

Liberals are the ones...sorry, liberal radical anarchists are trying to destroy, dismantle the entire country with their insanity, either you accept it or you’re a racist. These people are terrorists, pure and simple.

There's no such thing as liberal radical anarchists. There's people standing up against racism and an unhealthy and unhinged PotUS.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Somebody tell him he's not wearing any clothes. Quick!

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Also the economy is not crashing anymore, as the market is 94% back to its highest level.

No question the market is an economic indicator. Wall Street and Trump's fellow 'elite' have been pleased during his reign.

Real wages and buying power are also economic indicators. If these don't improve much in the next short while, Main Street is going to look more closely at the male who claims responsibility for economic conditions. Many of those still unemployed will look at Trump, who'll probably once again hide behind his 'I can't take responsibility for that'.

Bone-spurred bunker boy, after all.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

"Experts" said 8 million loss of jobs, it was a 2.5 million gain. That is amazing news. No one has ever created 2.5 million jobs in 1 month. The previous record was 1.1 million.

For the George Floyd narrative to work, you have to claim that he would not be happy that 2.5 million people went back to work. He seemed like a good guy overall, do you really think that he would be angry about people being able to make money to support their families?

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

According to the US Dept of Labor, more than 36m people have filed for unemployment in the past eight weeks which was before mid May.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

How come you can never speak on topic?

I am...

the Republican president suggested that even George Floyd, the black man who died last week when a white police officer knelt for minutes on his neck, would be pleased with the latest economic news.

(from this article)

How come Trump is no longer trashing BLM? Next he will be praising ANTIFA because he is desperate to hang on to the WH so much.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Ah so here comes the "stock market" isnt part of the economy. It certainly was when it went down almost 40%.

The amazing thing is that this is only 10% of the people who lost their jobs and most states are still closed. NYC announced 32,000 construction sites will reopen on Monday. How many jobs are there per construction site?

the other 90% are yet to be allowed to go back to work, so June/July/Aug will be historic too.

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

More than 40 million have made a claim for unemployment benefit but millions have been waiting more than two months to receive it because the system is overwhelmed. The food bank lines are overwhelmed with hungry people.

Rioting and looting made things worse for minorities, it was the dumbest thing to do. Now things will get worse, that’s on them and sadly, the people that live in these already impoverished communities.

An increas in jobs is good but a return to pre Covid-19 will take a long time, beyond the November ballot boxes.

Seems like it will take even long given the fact that thousands of rioters and looters didn’t practice safe distancing, be prepared.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

No one has ever created 2.5 million jobs in 1 month.

Wow! Trump himself created jobs! Hiring more illegals at one of his properties? Or counting Chinese Communist Party members pushing Ivanka's trademarks?

If Trump followers actually believe Trump himself 'created jobs' then they are little different from North Koreans who believe the only-hit-hole-in-one type stories told about the Kims.

Cult of personality, after all.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Ah so here comes the "stock market" isnt part of the economy. It certainly was when it went down almost 40%.

TrumpCare is. Has anyone seen how much ER visits cost and how much they have gone up under TrumpCare?

7 ( +7 / -0 )

If he "lost" them and was responsible for that. then he "created" them. Its how it works.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

@blacklabeAh so here comes the "stock market" isnt part of the economy.

Maybe the post saying that was deleted, but I've not read anyone say that. The imaginary dems/libs at it again?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

No question the market is an economic indicator. Wall Street and Trump's fellow 'elite' have been pleased during his reign.

All these people at Google, Twitter, Apple, Microsoft and these slimy liberal elites are jumping with joy.

Real wages and buying power are also economic indicators. If these don't improve much in the next short while, Main Street is going to look more closely at the male who claims responsibility for economic conditions.

True. These rioters and looters have provided now thousands of jobs for blue-collar workers, more votes for Trump

Many of those still unemployed will look at Trump, who'll probably once again hide behind his 'I can't take responsibility for that'.

Then the tugs should have thought about that before they start looting

.

-16 ( +0 / -16 )

“Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying this is a great thing that’s happening for our country,” Trump said. “This is a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody.”

Trump added;

George, you're dead. Killed at the hands of a police officer whose sworn duty was to protect you and your fellow citizens. Your family is deprived of a son - and your daughter will have to grow up without a father. The many great things you could have accomplished in your life will now not occur.

But hot damn, we know you're happy up there in heaven seeing this great economy turn around (fake news), and the virus on the run (more fake news)...

These are nothing but the rantings of a psychotic demented imbecile - pure and simple....

11 ( +11 / -0 )

No, I just know why it is that you specifically said economic "indicator", instead of saying its part of the economy. You cant claim the economy is crashing anymore when the stock market went over 27,000 Dow.

"Indicator"- Thats what people say when they want to then deflect to an "indicator" that isnt good or one that hasnt been released yet and claim that once it is it will show the "economy is still bad".

Maybe the post saying that was deleted, but I've not read anyone say that. The imaginary dems/libs at it again?

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

@bas4ffAll these people at Google, Twitter, Apple, Microsoft and these slimy liberal elites are jumping with joy.

Is the point that only liberals own shares in those publicly traded companies? I believe most who understand how the stock markets work would think differently. I think it could well be that hundreds of thousands of people who identify as 'conservatives', even some of Trump's extreme far right followers who are believers in national socialism, own shares in those companies.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Rioting and looting made things worse for minorities, it was the dumbest thing to do.

It was the only sane response to a system that is institutionally racist. A system that murders black people.

Hey, I’m great, but I don’t know about liberals.

Well, that's obvious.

I've told you dozens, maybe hundreds of times I'm not a liberal. I've invited you many times to talk about historical context, the legacy of racism and an international comparing with the people of South Africa, Ireland, Palestine.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

If he "lost" them and was responsible for that. then he "created" them. Its how it works.

The partisan extremist frame 100% or 0 might work with the 'poorly educated', a market some partisan extremists only know how to appeal to.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

"Indicator"- Thats what people say

A partisan extremist's understanding of 'what people say'.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

There's no such thing as liberal radical anarchists. There's people standing up against racism and an unhealthy and unhinged PotUS.

When confronted with police brutality, we ask the question: who protects from those who are supposed to protect us? When confronted with a liberal radical anarchist, we ask the question: who protects us from racism and injustice when those who are supposed to fight racism and injustice are racist and unjust?

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

These rioters and looters have provided now thousands of jobs for blue-collar workers, more votes for Trump

So, you're now praising them.

Then the tugs should have thought about that before they start looting

Oh, ok. Back to the insults.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Adam Schiff, is that you?

Why is is that everytime you need a Trump attack to distract from positive news, you need to make up a false statement or conversation.

But when I need something as a source, I can find a documented quote of actual words said.

Trump added;

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

He wants to be, based on what, that’s still up in the air.

Still with the deflections.

If George Floyd has nothing to do with the economy, as you say, why did trump mention him?

It was a callous, insensitive and crass thing to say.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

there is no "partisan" perspective about job numbers and the stock market. Job numbers were amazing and the stock market is rocketing back towards the all time high. "Both sides" can see those as facts.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Wow! Trump himself created jobs! Hiring more illegals at one of his properties?

Ok, time to relax now. Lol

Or counting Chinese Communist Party members pushing Ivanka's trademarks?

That one as well is played out, new fad?

If Trump followers actually believe Trump himself 'created jobs' then they are little different from North Koreans who believe the only-hit-hole-in-one type stories told about the Kims.

His policies sure did, not Biden.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

The president spoke in the Rose Garden after the Labor Department said that U.S. employers added 2.5 million workers to their payrolls last month.

The spin....

*The jobless rate, at 13.3%, is still on par with what the nation witnessed during the *Great Depression.

The reality....

The Trump Tailspin - it will take a Democratic President years to fix; just like in 1929 and 2007....

6 ( +7 / -1 )

No one has ever created 2.5 million jobs in 1 month.

That's because, 1) it's fake news and 2), because Twitler in his bunker has lost the plot completely, paralyzed by his delusions of sending his non-existent military to quell the protesters in violation of the 1st Amendment and his oath of office. There's still time to impeach and remove him before November.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

May sees biggest jobs increase ever of 2.5 million as economy starts to recover from coronavirus

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/05/jobs-report-may-2020.html

Not fake news at all, sorry it makes you mad that the USA is well on the way to recovery.

t will take a Democratic President years to fix; just like in 1929 and 2007...

Though I admire your positivity thinking the extensive damage done by Trump etal can be fixed, I worry that Trump/Pence and their 'foreign' backers have humpty-dumptied the republic. Which is what they have said all along they wanted to do.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

so in liberal world it violates the Constitution and the 1st Amendment to use the military or police to protect the White House from violent protesters? Yes, violent as 51 officers didnt get head injuries from nothing, they got it from being hit in the head with rocks and concrete.

What would you like to see happen then? No one can protect anything, so protesters can just jump the fence, the White House is looted of all its historical items, set on fire and the President violently attacked?

Thats not happening. go vote (if you are allowed to)

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

Is the point that only liberals own shares in those publicly traded companies? I believe most who understand how the stock markets work would think differently.

Not really, these powerful liberal elites may hate Trump, but they looooove his economic policies, Biden will never get their votes.

I think it could well be that hundreds of thousands of people who identify as 'conservatives', even some of Trump's extreme far right followers who are believers in national socialism, own shares in those companies

Most don’t, but it if it means to temporarily involve the government to loan some money while the batteries of capitalism recharge and then send the economy back on steroids, it’s a good thing.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

It was the only sane response to a system that is institutionally racist.

A system that murders black people.

Yes, look at every major black city where Democrats have the legislature, I have been saying that for years and yet they continue to vote these pathetic racist losers in.

I've invited you many times to talk about historical context, the legacy of racism

I have and did just now.

and an international comparing with the people of South Africa, Ireland, Palestine.

I know, but I’m an American and I like to focus on my country.

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

well well.

I guess we have come full circle. Initially, MSM and medical experts telling us the corona was just a flu, and nobody really knows, and no mask is required to

mask up! social distancing and business close, shelter in place

you can go outside, but if you stay past curfew, your arrested

Well the hay with all that! lets riot and gather in masses, only very violent crimes and you be arrested, otherwise, no bail and your out same day!

And of course all of it is Trumps fault because he doesnt wear a mask

Im not disputing the corona death or infection #s, facts are facts but

where is the MSM reporting now? They wouldnt be conveniently ignoring stats, now would they?

Allot of folks like to change the dial so quickly but I prefer to stay tuned

We are seeing celebrities and leaders saying some pretty outrageous things

"Violence is sometimes required, defund the police"

Short term politically advantages, long term...I dont think history will be so kind to them

Im awaiting the wash....once they are held accountable for what they said.

I dont think old fumble bumble Joe can keep up, the closer we get to Nov

Staying tuned...)

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

So, you're now praising them.

The blue-collar workers.

Oh, ok. Back to the insults.

So I should call them, kind, misunderstood and disgruntled people?

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer defends breaking social distancing for unity march: "important to show support"

https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/michigan-gov-gretchen-whitmer-defends-breaking-social-distancing-for-unity-march-important-to-show-support

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer participated in a Unity March in Highland Park on Thursday where it was not possible to social distance despite her executive order that residents maintain 6 feet to prevent the spread of COVID-19. She said she did that because it was important to show support from her office to the cause.

So now you can pick and choose what "cause" exempts you from catching corona?

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Very sad voilent story to hear but let us not forget that Presidents in the US are likely not elected, they are selected meaning the next president is already in place set and stone and elections never counted as it feels. The last greatest president in my opinion we had was President Kennedy.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

At the same time that she has decided the importance of the "cause" justifies her to march in the street (with a large group that is statistically more likely to be affected by coronavirus) she refused to allow any business to reopen.

Once states like these are forced by the courts to allow re-openings, the job numbers will go through the roof. Its sad that in most of these states it will take a court order to make the governors do what is right.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

im noticing allot of these mayors and MSM types are walking back the hate towards the police now.

How convenient. Elected by the people for service, then talk about abolish the police.

Once this has finally passed, the fodder to use against these people in the campaign will be epic.

The economy will recover and once people start working, they arent going to be with that lowest

common denominator destroy it all logic anymore.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Trump is lost in his own little world. If he wins in November, people will not feel sorry for the US anymore. Just get out and vote and make sure these 4 years were just an anomaly......an experiment that went seriously wrong. After Trump is out of office, he can then be sued and quite probably jailed for various crimes.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

the job numbers will go through the roof

So will (are) medical costs under TrumpCare

Thats not happening. go vote (if you are allowed to)

What is the point if Trump refuses to leave anyway even if he loses. He claims fake news CNN and blaming Hillary

4 ( +5 / -1 )

So will (are) medical costs under TrumpCare

maybe so, but even worse will be the cost of damages claimed by businesses and people killed by rioters.

Insurance companies servicing those claims...money got to come from somewhere

might of been a fun game to play at the time, but not worth the prize you will be charged with.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

im noticing allot of these mayors and MSM types are walking back the hate towards the police now.

I noticed that as well.

How convenient. Elected by the people for service, then talk about abolish the police.

If these people want to live with increased crime, their choice.

Once this has finally passed, the fodder to use against these people in the campaign will be epic.

The economy will recover and once people start working, they arent going to be with that lowest

This is exactly why if you didn’t call the worker, they’re going to make so much money.

common denominator destroy it all logic anymore.

Yes.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

Rioting and looting made things worse for minorities, it was the dumbest thing to do.

It was the only sane response to a system that is institutionally racist.

Looting? Smashing and stealing from the businesses of innocent people was the only sane response?

Don’t destroy innocent people’s livelihoods. What did they do to deserve that?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

the cost of damages claimed by businesses and people killed by rioters.

Yes, good point and this is also happening under Trump's watch. Big big losses under Trump. Stock market. deaths. The US is going down faster than Trump's casinos and university.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

I hope people can somehow look beyond Trump and see the real America. He is only passing through. Trump is not America.

Yup.

I’m saying I disagree with looting.

If the Democrats are the answer, why is the violence on Democrat turf? Self-awareness does not seem to be a strong point of the BLM movement.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Everyone knows the economy coming back means nothing; democrats have nothing to worry about. Joe Biden is leading Trump in all the opinion polls. November 4th is going to be a great day for the DNC.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

“Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying this is a great thing that’s happening for our country,” Trump said. “This is a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody.”

Absolutely out of his mind. The rational, intelligent and empathetic of us have known this for a long time. Anyone who still supports this dangerous idiot, well... lost causes.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Well, Mr and Mrs America, are you better off now than you were four years ago?

Your know, back when the biggest scandal of our previous President was when he wore a tan suit?

Or are you better off now....when close to 110K of your fellow Americans are dead, 40 million more are out of work, violent far-right white supremacists are rioting and looting, soldiers are guarding our streets, our allies pity us, and our adversaries mock and laugh at us....

And our current President hides in a bunker, suggests we all take disinfectant, and says the black man recently murdered by the police must be happy up in heaven....

If it wasn't real, I'd say its a script for a new Kurt Russell movie; Escape from America...

6 ( +6 / -0 )

new white followers: please unfollow me if you are not willing to provide resources (financial or otherwise) for the material needs of black people in our continued fight for liberation. this includes the inevitable seizure of your families estate and any other remaining assets

From Twitter. This is what BLM is really about.

Retribution.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Yes, we are better off. Even more so if you consider that had Trump not been elected, we would be in year 4 of the Clinton Presidency as the only other candidate who was running. The bad Clinton, not the good one.

So luckily we social distanced her from the White House years before social distancing was even a thing.

(Update your unemployment numbers. its 21 million, and decreasing)

"The labor market may see further gains in the month of June after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday said New York City will begin its Phase 1 reopening on Monday, allowing construction, manufacturing and limited retail services to restart."

nice! V-shaped recovery, as promised.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

we would be in year 4 of the Clinton Presidency

Yes, and the situation would not be (as) bad. For one we would not have the disastrous TrumpCare. Also, Hillary did want to really push for criminal reform while Trump and his people always called BLM a terror organization. It's so funny now since Trump wants the BLM vote. Another thing with Hillary is we would not have the Trump tax from imports.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

All these celebrities posting bail for people looting and committing criminal acts

Lets see if the pay for the damages they caused to the properties they burned, and inventory stolen

Lets see if they pay the families who suffered a parent killed by this

Lets see if they will help pay the damages and lawsuit settlements

Im guess the cost will be in the billions?

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Well, Mr and Mrs America, are you better off now than you were four years ago?

They were until the Chinese unleashed this virus.

Your know, back when the biggest scandal of our previous President was when he wore a tan suit?

No, it was when he lied and perjured himself in a video taped deposition for doing his intern.

Or are you better off now....when close to 110K of your fellow Americans are dead, 40 million more are out of work, violent far-right white supremacists are rioting and looting, soldiers are guarding our streets, our allies pity us, and our adversaries mock and laugh at us....

People will die, that’s life, more people die from cancer than any other diseases, but the country needs to get back to work and as today’s numbers has shown, if it continues on this trajectory, Trump is well on his way into a second term smoothly.

And our current President hides in a bunker, suggests we all take disinfectant, and says the black man recently murdered by the police must be happy up in heaven....

Of course he hid in a bunker, any other president would do the same when you have a giant horde of mobs coming to try to get you and it would be a dereliction of duty if the Secret Service didn’t stop them. So even if the liberals bring up that stupid comment, it is so stupid to even comment on that. No president whether they be Republican or Democrat should be subjected to a possible domestic terrorist attack like with these mobs were doing.

If it wasn't real, I'd say its a script for a new Kurt Russell movie; Escape from America..

When the thugs take control of the inner cities because the Democrats disbanded the police force, liberals might need to call up on Samuel Jackson

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

Yes, we are better off. Even more so if you consider that had Trump not been elected, we would be in year 4 of the Clinton Presidency as the only other candidate who was running. The bad Clinton, not the good one.

Yes, maybe she would have wore a tan pantsuit, while emulating her husband and creating an economy that grew the fastest in our history with a budget surplus - instead of a cratered hole and the greatest deficit on our history...

So luckily we social distanced her from the White House years before social distancing was even a thing.

Distancing? Trump does that - especially when there are two elderly protesters outside the WH.... Donald Trump - the Bunker Buffoon...

Update your unemployment numbers. its 21 million, and decreasing)

The May jobs report had 'misclassification error' that made the unemployment rate look lower than it is. Here's what happened

https://www.stamfordadvocate.com/business/article/The-May-jobs-report-had-misclassification-error-15320999.php

Oh my....

6 ( +6 / -0 )

It seems to me if somebody is rioting, and you post bail for that individual, that is suggesting that you are supporting and therefore guilt by association

Lincolnman from some of your post you seem to be a man with a career in LEF

could you help me with that?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Thats a minor distinction, at worst. even if its 16.3% unemployment that's still a great result.

This "misclassification" will be corrected next month when 3% more people will return to work if 3% are removed this month. So count it this month or next month, whichever is still fine.

Liberals been screeching about 30-40% and more than the Great Depression. Simply not true.

And no, there are still not 40 million people out of work either way. that narrative is done, as is the "crashing economy" cut and paste jobs. Update your narratives.

The BLS admitted that some people who should have been classified as "temporarily unemployed" during the shutdown were instead misclassified as employed but "absent" from work for "other reasons."

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Of course he hid in a bunker, any other president would do the same when you have a giant horde of mobs coming to try to get you and it would be a dereliction of duty if the Secret Service didn’t stop them.

If Trump was afraid of unarmed protestors what happens when well armed "2nd amendmenters" come down the newly named Black Lifes Matter plaza?

What about the legal peaceful protesters who were outside the WH where gassed, and fired rubber bullets at so Trump, who claimed to support legal protests, took take his TV reality photo op at a church, holding an unside down Bilble. The equivalent of holding the cross underside down which is the sign of Satan himself.

https://www.mlive.com/news/flint/2020/06/michigan-state-court-overturns-ruling-on-owosso-barber.html

Liberal activist governors are even losing court cases 7-0 so even more people can go back to work. Great news!

30-32% was supposed to be the unemployment rate, so even 16.3% is remarkable at this early stage of the recovery.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

I dont have a back ground in police or law enforcement but

If you are not related to an individual and you post bail as a stranger

and that person goes out and commits the same felony of rioting or

inciting a riot, isnt the person posting the bail, encouraging the

crime?

anyone?

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

The numbers support Trump, but the MSM and their believers will bash him nonetheless. Nothing new here, same script as always.

I for one have never seen such a media-supported mass hysteria before. Well, not in my lifetime.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

nobody cares, this article is about the positive news from USA about jobs, unemployment and faster than expected recovery. Your boogeyman Putin was uninvolved in any of that, nor were Germany, Syria or NATO.

And in other news today, Trump again shows he's a Puppet for Putin....

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Looking forward to this fellow losing in a landslide in a few months.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

This jobs report is surprisingly good news. Except for the Democrats.

The jobless rate, at 13.3%, is still on par with what the nation witnessed during the Great Depression. And for the second straight month, the Labor Department acknowledged making errors in counting the unemployed during the virus outbreak, saying the real figure is worse than the numbers indicate.

So Obama inherited a economic crash with unemployment at 10% and brought it down to 4% which is what Trump inherited. So 4% going up to 14% with the real figure probably higher, how does that equate to good news1!? Only in Trumpland that would be a win

10 ( +10 / -0 )

30-32% was supposed to be the unemployment rate, so even 16.3% is remarkable at this early stage of the recovery.

the great depression didnt even see levels of unemployment like this and the economic downturn lasted years. 16.3% is remarkable !? what does Obamas 4% indicate then!? seriously Trump supporters could talk up poo covered in chocolate as an improvement, doesnt change the fact that its still poo

5 ( +5 / -0 )

its a win simply because (a) it was predicted to be 30-32% and (b) no one is even back to work yet. This is the very very beginning, not the end.

In the end Trump will take us from 16.3% all the way back to under 4% where it was. He will create 20 million plus jobs in 6 months. Unheard of recovery. Stock market will be over 30k, new record. So many good things to come, right before the election.

So 4% going up to 14% with the real figure probably higher, how does that equate to good news1!?

Because it wasnt policy failure, it was just the coronavirus and activist Dem lockdowns. Which are over now because Dem governors cant resist to march in the street right now.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Given the way unemployment stats are gathered, and that there is not a functioning US government at the moment, I'd be really wary of any govt statistics. It's been documented that WH staff pay polling organizations to produce "research" that paints a rosy picture of the economy, electoral prospects, popularity standing, etc that can be used to salve Drumph's fragile ego.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

but the MSM and their believers will bash him nonetheless

And the fringe/kook media will praise Trump who daily attacks the free, for-profit press because not all outlets praise him. I prefer a free, for-profit press so people can find outlets reflecting their perspective. Some want a Russia-type media which the state 'partially' controls. Some religious extremists prefer one like Saudi Arabia and Iran have. As long as people can have unrestricted access to the Internet, everyone should find outlets they prefer.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

It's time that people stop looking at the stick market numbers as the "bible" of how the economy is doing!

What is happening on Wall Street no longer directly connects to the reality of what is going on in America.

The stock market is an indicator of just how much speculators are betting on how things will be, but keep in mind that those same speculators hedge their bets to limit their losses when winds change.

The stock market should still be down by all means, and yet everyone points to it as the "economy is doing fine"! Maybe for the multi-billionaires, but definitely not for the literally tens of millions who are unemployed.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

indicates he didnt get it as low as Trump did, 3.5%, pre-corona.

U.S. Unemployment Rate Falls to 50-Year Low- October 4, 2019

what does Obamas 4% indicate then!?

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

(Update your unemployment numbers. its 21 million, and decreasing)

actually May was 14.7% and June real figure is closer to 16.3%

https://www.stamfordadvocate.com/business/article/The-May-jobs-report-had-misclassification-error-15320999.php

only in Trumpland would 16.3% be classified as a win, just think Obama handed an Trump 8yrs of continued economic growth and 4% unemployment. but but the Trump economy is all Obamas fault. lol

6 ( +6 / -0 )

6 years of the Obama presidency unemployment was 5% or higher.

for 3 whole years it was never below 7.9%.

But lets talk about 4.7% that he got one time, the last month of his 8 years in office.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

it is when 30-32% was the projection, yes.

total, complete, victory.

To get better next month and the next. Great news for the American people.

only in Trumpland would 16.3% be classified as a win

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

here are the raw numbers right here. Tell me whose are better. Its easy to see at a quick glance.

https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

The May jobs report had 'misclassification error' that made the unemployment rate look lower than it is. Here's what happened

And then there’s the truth..

America’s labor market defied forecasts for a Depression-style surge in unemployment, signaling the economy is picking up faster than anticipated from the coronavirus-inflicted recession amid reopenings and government stimulus.

A broad gauge of payrolls rose by 2.5 million in May, trouncing forecasts for a sharp decline following a 20.7 million tumble the prior month that was the largest in records back to 1939, according to Labor Department data Friday. The jobless rate fell to 13.3% from 14.7%.

U.S. stocks jumped after the report with the S&P 500 up 2.9%, adding to weeks of gains in equities since mid-March. The figures were so astonishing that President Donald Trump held a news conference, where he called the numbers “outstanding” and predicted further improvement before he’s up for re-election in November.

Biden needs to go home....

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

it is when 30-32% was the projection, yes.

Here we go with not meeting the extreme highest projections to claim a Trump mission accomplished. How long until Trump glories in the number of virus deaths because they didn't reach one million. Zero regard for lives shattered, just Trump uber alles. The best president the 'elite' have ever had.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

then liberals and their allies and the media need to stop pushing the extreme highest projection as "truth in advance". Just wait for the real number and leave the pre-attacks and speculation alone.

2.2 million were supposed to die from coronavirus, yes. Didnt happen, and that is also great news.

I am quite sure when the unemployment goes back to 4%, it will be claimed that it was only "really" 8% at its highest point. Because if Trump takes unemployment down from 16.3% to even 6%, much less 4%- he wins in a landslide.
