Donald Trump insisted on Sunday he was “100% right” when he said he saw thousands of Muslims in Jersey City, New Jersey, cheering the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, even though fact-checkers have debunked his assertion.

You have to hand it to him. The GOP created their bubble where they could write the narrative with or without truth, and Trump just swooped in and took over the place. Now he's repeating the benefits of the GOP's hard work.

Donald Trump has gone from seeing thousands of Muslims celebrating the 911 attacks on roof tops in New Jersey to seeing hundreds to seeing thousands all over the world celebrating.

The man tells one lie, then repeats his lies, gets mad when not everyone believes his lies, then he says forget about the first lie and then he proceeds with telling much bigger lies.

Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, start over, repeat, rinse, repeat, start over, ....

The only Truther Triumph Rump the Great is interested in is building the concentration camps he has promised for Mexicans and Muslims.

A real estate deal is a real estate deal. Who cares who lives in Rump's camps as long a Rump gets paid.

If having AWOL Bush lie about Iraq weren't enough, the GOP Shia-Tea is looking for another liar to lead his war profiteers.

Don't mess with a good business model, the chump losers Rump calls his American stooges will pay for it so who cares? This bloated red faced liar sure appeals to all those personal responsibility Republicans. They just love kissing Rump.

Politics in the USA as with most other parts of the world, demands "exaggeration" to get the point across. Data is "distorted" and "read" to suite a particular point of view.

The point is... Mr. Trump id tell the truth about those that did celebrate, thought he figures were exaggerated. He did get the point across.

The THREAT is already from WITHIN the USA. And it is possible that Muslims or even Arabs within the USA are indeed involved.

You can be an idealism or a realist. I prefer to be a realist.

The Muslim threat not ISIS/ISIL terrorism, is all over the world.

Interestingly, by population demographics (growth in population) alone, the Arab population by their high birth rate will dominate the world population within 50 years. If they were all Muslims, then they will by default dominate.

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

The Donald is just being modest, as is his nature. I'm sure he was 500% or even 4000% right.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

If it was on the TV where is the footage?? Well, as we all know, neither proof nor the lack of proof ever swayed anyone of the far right. Proof is not the point to them. The point is what they can get away with despite all, and how they can profit or otherwise benefit. Such trolls don't think like you and me.

The THREAT is already from WITHIN the USA.

That's right. And I don't see TeaRump leaving the USA now that he is on the campaign trail. America beware!

"U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump insisted on Sunday he was “100% right” when he said he saw thousands of Muslims in Jersey City, New Jersey, cheering the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, even though fact-checkers have debunked his assertion."

Surely someone somewhere must have this legendary footage. This footage would have the rightists slavering like wolves and they'd eat their own mothers to get it. If they can't sniff it out, I think it's pretty safe to assume Trump was mistaken. Perhaps swinging on a tyre while watching TV isn't advisable.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

It only matters that he was 100% right to his equally-bigoted followers, the Trumperatti. This is a guy whose ego is so bloated and already based on a false sense of accomplishment he's never wrong on anything as long as he can shout it at you or have some of his bodyguards rough you up. And hero worshippers lap it up and enable his lies with their own. He is quite literally the worst major party candidate I have seen in my lifetime. The absolute bottom-of-the-barrel. There have been some Republicans and Democrats I've disagreed with as far as policies go, but he is the first candidate from either party outright to disgust me as a human being and for what his continued popularity says to me about where the GOP is coming from-- white rage boiling over into naked fascism. A truly exploitative, opportunistic scumbag.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

I remember seeing some footage also. People have been softened to the point of only caring about getting everything free, slagging off white people, enjoying guilt trips, calling you a fascist for a non status quo opinion. Forget about out of control immigration problems, crap jobs, no sovereignty, poverty, trade etc. Americans are more concerned about distractions.

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

I remember seeing some footage also.

How can you remember seeing something that doesn't exist?

3 ( +8 / -5 )

"I remember seeing some footage also"

I'm just flabbergasted that nobody did anything about it at the time. Where was the outcry? Did the people of New Jersey think "Hmm, I think those celebrations are distasteful but I won't say anything to them or do anything about it". One poster on this site claimed he saw pictures of the planes ploughing into the buildings and Osama Bin Laden hanging in petrol stations in New York. Strangely, not a single customer seemed to be offended enough to ask the owner to take them down.

All this in the home of the brave. I had no idea the people of New York and New Jersey were either so passive or such cowards. That wasn't the impression I got in these places.

You live and learn.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

There were "Arab-looking" men caught celebrating on 9/11. They were actually arrested and questioned. You can find lots of information online about those 5 men, including interviews with the arresting officer and the woman who called the cops when she saw the celebrating "Arab-looking" men. But it turns out they were not Muslim!

-14 ( +4 / -18 )

He lost all cred when he failed to show us his tax return.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

The entire Republican campaign up to now resembles the plot of a certain Terry Southern novel -- the one featuring Peter Sellers in a starring role.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I honestly recall such a scene, from foreign news, implying celebration, among the some middle eastern crowd in view in chant. It mixed into televised recollection of 9/11 events. Me thinks the Donald likely suffered the same presentation. I myself am uncertain attending Woodstock or having seen it in theater on acid. I guess I'll never know.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@Pointedview I remember seeing some footage also.

Your perspective on the US, the patterns you see there, make it sound like a pretty terrible place for white people. Did you ever look up the word apophenia?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

GalapagosnoGairaishu: The entire Republican campaign up to now resembles the plot of a certain Terry Southern novel -- the one featuring Peter Sellers in a starring role.

PleeeeeEEEZE, let's run Nikki Haley and Condi Rice and have a real contest, the current crew have got no chance against Hillary, even as bad as she is.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Hardly surprising, really, when by his own admission he's never in his life made a mistake...

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@pointofview. I remember seeing footage too, though it was specifically in Palestine, likely the West Bank, and not New Jersey. Looking back, we should all have been DVRing the news coverage and saving it so we could review it. Remember the "flight manual in Arabic" that was reported, but never mentioned again? Just saying.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Donald will make an interesting president. Once the military industrial complex fills him in on area 51, ET's and parallel universes with portholes between them so we can time shift, Donnie boy will be dumbfounded.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

You have to hand it to him. The GOP created their bubble where they could write the narrative with or without truth, and Trump just swooped in and took over the place. Now he's repeating the benefits of the GOP's hard work.

Really? How so?

The man tells one lie, then repeats his lies, gets mad when not everyone believes his lies, then he says forget about the first lie and then he proceeds with telling much bigger lies.

I'm certainly NO fan of the Trumpster, love his boldness, love how he slaps the media down and yes, he can tell some very interesting and questionable stories, but how is his lying different from Obama's or Hillary's? A lie is a lie, right? Or do liberals have another euphemism for lying when it involves them?

It only matters that he was 100% right to his equally-bigoted followers, the Trumperatti. This is a guy whose ego is so bloated and already based on a false sense of accomplishment he's never wrong on anything as long as he can shout it at you or have some of his bodyguards rough you up.

Ok, so what makes Trump's ego (and the man has indeed a huge ego) different from Obama's huge ego?

And hero worshippers lap it up and enable his lies with their own. He is quite literally the worst major party candidate I have seen in my lifetime.

Many people said the exact same thing about Barack, oh, the parallels....

The absolute bottom-of-the-barrel.

Welcome to my world.

Scumbag....not quite sure about that, but them and does have a lot of finesse when it comes to embellishing a story. But you are bringing up a good point, there are people also that equally the same about Obama and what he put this country through for the last 7 years and he still has a year left!! I'm not trying to quibble, I think you have a legitimate gripe about Trump, however, when you compare him to Obama, the two are NOT that much different except, Trump had more money and will say things to your face and Obama will contort and twist the truth to suit his personal narrative and will do anything to politicize any issue if it makes him look good.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Does he can provide and photos or footages to back those claims ?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'm certainly NO fan of the Trumpster, love his boldness, love how he slaps the media down and yes, he can tell some very interesting and questionable stories

Trump is obviously saying that something happened that didn't happen, which was thousands and thousands of Muslim-Americans in New Jersey cheering when the towers fell. Now think about the image that paints in the minds of his supporters as well a other low information voters such as yourself. Thousands and thousands of Muslim-Americans cheering the deaths of ordinary Americans. It's outrageous slander that doesn't fit into the "interesting and questionable" category. It's a downright lie used to incite hatred against other Americans wile supporting a position that strips those same Americans of their rights.

And he's getting away with it. Instead of questioning the methods GOP leaders are using, GOP bubble dwellers come here and show us poll numbers for public opinion, part of which are formed by misrepresentations like Trump's. Those poll numbers are handed right back to the politicians who then create hate policy and the circle is complete.

By the way, I'm still waiting for the statements from Feinsten and Panetta showing support for banning Muslim refugees. Looks like you're follow in Trump's footsteps.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@Bass Scumbag....not quite sure about that, but them and does have a lot of finesse when it comes to embellishing a story. But you are bringing up a good point, there are people also that equally the same about Obama and what he put this country through for the last 7 years and he still has a year left!!

Did you have an editor when you worked for the Washington Post? If you have a dictionary nearby, look up the word obsessive and see if it defines your feelings about the US president. And while you're at it, try apophenia.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I distinctly remember seeing lots of news coverage showing the same thing around the world. Lots of people were celebrating.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

@PTownsend,

You like that word. Let me guess, your choice for President is wonderful right? It`s okay to disagree with me. You seem to soak up Trump bashing articles from The NYT, MSNBC, Salon.com, Politico etc. Those wonderful Left wing news outlets. Every article negative about Trump, every one of them. Starts to run dry after a bit.

@Strangerland,

14 years ago there was. Lots of information being suppressed. Im sure you would agree with this story in Jersey if Dem candidates said the same. Its just a Trump thing for you.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Sorry but I don't believe the conspiracy theories. If it existed there would be something somewhere to back it up. Yet there is nothing. No one can cover it up that much. And I would discount any politician who claimed this - the party lines don't matter to me, the truth doesn't care about ideologies.

distinctly remember seeing lots of news coverage showing the same thing around the world. Lots of people were celebrating.

Not really relevant is it. The question is whether they were celebrating by the thousands in New Jersey.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

A lie remains a lie no matter how you try to 'modify' it. What supporting evidence can Trump present?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Never did I think that I'd see someone less qualified to be on a national ticket or to run for President than Sarah Palin. (I'd say she's dumb as a post, but that would be insulting....to the post.)

Sadly it seems I was mistaken. Donald J (I'm automatically suspicious of people that needlessly use their middle initial) Trump, AKA The d-bag of Manhattan, is so incredibly awful that he actually make Ted Cruze (who's own Republican Senate colleagues absolutely loathe) look reasonable by comparison.

One can usually tell a supporter of Mr. Rump right away. Their atrocious grammar in no way impedes them from going on long-winded rants, usually accompanied by an over-reliance on caps.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@Pointedview You seem to soak up Trump bashing articles from The NYT, MSNBC, Salon.com, Politico etc. Those wonderful Left wing news outlets

The link I sent you was from a pro-business site. I sent it assuming you'd reject anything else as 'left wing'. Trumpery's veracity has long been questioned; perhaps his followers, too?

I'll use a quote from a previous poster:

A lie remains a lie no matter how you try to 'modify' it.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

14 years ago there was. Lots of information being suppressed. Im sure you would agree with this story in Jersey if Dem candidates said the same. Its just a Trump thing for you.

Lol, I don't think anyone but Trump could make such a ridiculous claim. Millions of people were glued to their TVs during 911, and only 100 delusional supporters can back up his claim?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Rump is so far up himself he can't tell the difference between the two West Banks: (Jordan and Joizy), nor can his brain disentangle TV news from the real world which must account for his appeal to the multitude of unfortunates without his moolah but with his mental handicap.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

"14 years ago there was. Lots of information being suppressed."

According to you, footage of large numbers of Muslims celebrating in New Jersey wasn't suppressed. What happened after it was aired? Was it quickly removed for fear of inflaming tensions and never to be seen again?

I'm just interested in your reaction to it. You must have been absolutely furious. Surely one of your friends, family or coworkers must have seen this disgraceful behaviour too and said something. What did they say? It is amazing that nobody can find any footage to back up this claim nor even anything to illustrate what must have been a furious backlash to it.

What was the backlash? I can remember fury about footage of people outside the U.S. celebrating. Were celebrations in New Jersey regarded as understandable?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

New Jersey is over the water. Maybe he is mistaking over the Atlantic with over in Atlantic City.

I also clearly remember hearing about Muslim people cheering as they watched replays of the twin towers attacks, but I do not recall any suggestion of it happening within the USA.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

That a man like Trump with the resources at his disposal cannot bring us the images he claimed to see says it all. He's full of s***. Just like Fox "news".The Republican party has become a group of insane religious fascists as their fruit cupboard of '16 candidates show.

Trump has to be on the Clinton's payroll. They can afford him. The damage he's doing to the GOP Asylum is exquisite.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

I remember talk of some 5 suspicious cheering Israelis and lots of evidence concerning their existence, possessions and behavior. Strange how when there is evidence, few want to believe, but when there is no evidence, so many insist on believing. Such people should seriously have their internet, voting and office holding privileges revoked.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

"Chuck, I saw it on television. So did many other people,"

His interview on Meet the Press. If so then there would be an archive of it and it would make its way to youtube. If not then he is lying.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

pointofview: You like that word. Let me guess, your choice for President is wonderful right? It`s okay to disagree with me. Uh....the GOP is leading the anti-Trump crusade. Check out Fox or Breitbart and see the articles they are running on Trump. They want control of their party back.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

If not then he is lying.

No. Its worse than that. He is in fact delusional. If he was lying it would indicate he still had control over his mind and might have some sense left. Don't be so generous.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I remember talk of some 5 suspicious cheering Israelis and lots of evidence concerning their existence, possessions and behavior.

Yes, that is who I was referring to. It is well documented that they were seen celebrating the towers falling and they were questioned by the FBI. Check out Grant F. Smith and his analysis of FOIA documents he got from the FBI: http://israellobby.org/urbanmoving/

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

@Doo-Bop, @the refugee

It was 5 Israeli's who were taken in on 9/11 because someone called the cops on them. This is the story that Trump now has quoted from the NY Times (and then made fun of the handicapped reporter for). The current coverage of that story fails to mention the very incriminating details. The woman who called the police that morning saw them celebrating as they filmed the WTC burning. They were later arrested, found to have lots of high-end cameras, thousands in cash, multiple passports, and were deported back to Israel a couple months later (they were not Palestinian). It was almost certain (but not publicly stated) they were with Israeli intelligence. They went on a talkshow a few months later and admitted they were there with cameras but were only interested in "filming the event", though how they knew to be filming it at that given place/time wasn't asked, let alone how this corresponded little to the jobs they had with a moving company. The Israeli owner of their company fled the US soon after international flights resumed.

See more info here at America's reputable ABC News: http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=123885

This is the thing on TV that Trump (and many others) were talking about?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

This is the thing on TV that Trump (and many others) were talking about?

Yes. Israeli's. The same one's that made a mockery of President Obama this year with the help of the crazies in the Republican party.

Those are the images Trump is screaming about, but Republicans haven't been fussed about the truth for at least 15 years.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

But were the Israelis ever on TV? And there were five - Trump has been bleating on about thousands and thousands on TV. This sounds like five guys were not on TV.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Sorry if my skills with numbers are a bit off. Five Israelis (pretending to be cheering Muslims) are mentioned above. Then Trump talks about "thousands" televised as in video as in not "images" but motion videos. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't "five" way way off from "thousands" And again, where are the videos that show anything? I checked that abc news link. But there is no mention of "thousands of Muslims" cheering. And no link to any videos that prove any of these claims by Trump or his believers.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Oh, I missed that post by Madverts somehow.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I mean Nishikat.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Wow, we posted at the same exact time. Cool!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

We're on the same page :)

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Celebrating Muslims: "We're celebrating the jihadist attack on the symbol of American imperialism!"

Confused bystanders: "..but, this attack just happened! Was it a pilot mistake? Was it purposeful? And if the latter, how do you know who is responsible? How in this fog of chaos can you know anything?!"

Celebrating Muslims: "We're Muslims, so of course we're privy to all of al Qaida's plans beforehand!"

(TV cameras happen to be on hand in New Jersey while lower New York is ablaze to somehow catch this amazing precognition and broadcast it once, then destroy the evidence forever.)

Trump: "I saw it! My memory makes you losers' look like a goldfish! Where I saw it, I can't recall."

And some lap it up.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I'm assuming he got the local rumors confused with the unrelated celebrations in the Middle East. Mistakes happen, but he should be man enough to admit his mistake.

“I’ve had hundreds of people call in and tweet in on Twitter, saying that they saw it and I was 100 percent right.”

Seems he found a few hundred supporters who made the same mistake...

What I find curious is that none of the debunkers / fact-checkers ever mention that the only ones to have been caught celebrating in the area were Israelis. Funny that. I am sure that if it was 5 dancing Muslims that were arrested on 9/11, they would still be in Guantanamo and we all would have heard much more about them.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Hey guys, listen real close and you can hear "the fat lady" humming !

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Hey guys, listen real close and you can hear "the fat lady" humming !

Yeah, they've been sayin' that since his McCain putdown. As Meghan Trainor (and, yes, I had to Google the name - teenage daughter supplied the tune) sang, "It's all about that base." Trump's got legs that will turn into stumps that he will use to batter any primary rival to bits with (oh, dear - now I've gotten myself into "Green Knight" territory. You'll have to Youtube that for yourselves.)

For you without teenage daughters, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PCkvCPvDXk

"Never did I think that I'd see someone less qualified to be on a national ticket or to run for President than Sarah Palin."

What about Barack Obama in 2008?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Heh, methinks you're the only Republican wanting to admit to their brief fling with "Sarah" old buddy.

Trump should run with her as his VP. Brains Trust '16.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

"What about Barack Obama in 2008?" Well, he was senator before. Well over the age of 40. Also, (as agreed with the Republican party now calling it a big mistake) was NOT for war in Iraq. I mean if you think about it if Obama had been president right after 9-11 he would have taken a lot of blame for the attacks as GWB did. But he would not have wasted trillions and lives attacking the wrong country. Bush 1st and Carter had the same policy. Not bad experience there. But if no one just likes him then well his two terms are up anyway.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

he would have taken a lot of blame for the attacks as GWB did.

Nobody really blamed GW for 9-11. What are you talking about? They blame him for the 2nd Gulf Wa (immediately after 9-11) & accusing Iraq of possessing WMD.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

And he's getting away with it.

Schadenfreude, I understand your frustration. You're lucky, you had to deal with Trump for months, we had to deal with Obama for 7 years and Hillary going back 30!!

Instead of questioning the methods GOP leaders are using, GOP bubble dwellers come here and show us poll numbers for public opinion,

So they only count when liberals use them??

part of which are formed by misrepresentations like Trump's. Those poll numbers are handed right back to the politicians who then create hate policy and the circle is complete.

But conservatives are the ones living in a bubble, correct?

Did you have an editor when you worked for the Washington Post? If you have a dictionary nearby, look up the word obsessive and see if it defines your feelings about the US president.

There are other words, I found, but I don't think I can post them on JT.

That a man like Trump with the resources at his disposal cannot bring us the images he claimed to see says it all. He's full of s***. Just like Fox "news".

How did FNC get caught up in the conversation? Has nothing to do with Trump?

The Republican party has become a group of insane religious fascists as their fruit cupboard of '16 candidates show.

Compared to the spineless, Liberty, freedom hating and cowardly constitutional hating Democrats?

Trump has to be on the Clinton's payroll. They can afford him. The damage he's doing to the GOP Asylum is exquisite.

Didn't they all close down in the 1980s? We need to reopen them again, seriously!

Yes. Israeli's. The same one's that made a mockery of President Obama this year with the help of the crazies in the Republican party.

Sad to say, but it was Obama that made a mockery of himself as well as the presidency.

Those are the images Trump is screaming about, but Republicans haven't been fussed about the truth for at least 15 years.

Then that means, the Dems go further back to 1992.

Again, I'm not going to defend Trump on some of the outlandish and insensitive things he often says, but I do see a dog piling on a so called conservative and in the meantime, giving all liberals a pass.....all of them. I just don't know how you libs can say things with a straight face knowing that they swim in a cesspool of hypocrisy and will EVERY time overlook it as nothing.

@ bass But conservatives are the ones living in a bubble, correct?

Thank you for owning up to this. And thanks, too, for no longer continuing to write the inflammatory zombie lie about Planned Parenthood selling baby body parts. I assume you found that the hate mongers distorted the truth and have come to accept that hate speech can have murderous consequences when extremists believe it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

As has been repeatedly pointed out, CNN DID show footage of people celebrating the 9/11 attack, but they were Palestinians in Jerusalem City, Israel. NOT New Jersey.

Yes, Palestinians were shown soon after the attacks, but it turned out they were not celebrating the attacks. Makes you wonder why such a "reputable" news network would do something like that. The only ones caught celebrating in New Jersey were Israelis, and the resulting FBI reports (albeit redacted) on their arrests and interrogations contain many interesting facts: http://israellobby.org/urbanmoving/

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

Go Trump! The only one who can fix a broken America. Twisted attacks show true colours of media and politicians.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Yeah, because his being a clueless moron has nothing to do with it right?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Yes, Palestinians were shown soon after the attacks,, but it turned out they were not celebrating the attacks.

As has been pointed out to you several times, you are wrong...

http://www.snopes.com/rumors/cnn.asp

Makes you wonder why you keep writing it even though you know it is not true.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Thank you for owning up to this.

Actually, I was being condescending.

And thanks, too, for no longer continuing to write the inflammatory zombie lie about Planned Parenthood selling baby body parts.

Oh, I still stand by that. I really could care less what the unicorn paisley free for all progressives want to sell to the general public.

I assume you found that the hate mongers distorted the truth and have come to accept that hate speech can have murderous consequences when extremists believe it.

I'll say this, you have hate monger son both sides.

Go Trump! The only one who can fix a broken America. Twisted attacks show true colours of media and politicians.

Trust me when I tell you, I really don't want another progressive in the White House again, the country couldn't handle it, but do you really think the country is better off with a guy like Trump? The man is great when it comes to slamming down the MSM, but other than that, he's way too bombastic, rude, crude and possesses the ego maniac driven personality this current president does? Do we honestly want to go through that again for another 4 or even 8 years?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Whatever. The main thing and the ONLY thing that's important is that he's out of here in 1 year and nothing could be more bittersweet.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

OK, whatever. But what is worse for you? Thinking there is a Muslim Kenyan non American in the White House or Trump? Who is worse Trump or Obama?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Who is worse Trump or Obama?

Since Obama is the current president, I would say he is, but the Trump is carrying on and being obnoxious in his remarks and condescending, rude and nasty towards anyone that doesn't agree with him, on that point, Trump wins and as far as self-loving, ego maniacs, I would say without a doubt, both of them.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@Strangerland,

You should run for President then to show everyone how great you are. You love anything anti Trump so you made your mind up long ago. That being said, it doesn`t mean you are right. Trump supporters are American citizens and their vote counts as much as any left wing Clinton (thug) supporter whether you like it or not.

@bass4funk,

Eventually, The Democrats will be the only party to secure the Presidency because they buy votes. Look at the immigration issues, social welfare spending...basically buying votes. Sounds like a dictatorship is around the corner. Sorry, all politicians have had their chances. It`s time for someone else to take the lead.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

You love anything anti Trump so you made your mind up long ago.

The guy is a bigoted, devicive moron. I'm just calling it as he has shown it.

Trump supporters are American citizens and their vote counts as much as any left wing Clinton (thug) supporter whether you like it or not.

I'm not a Clinton supporter.

"Since Obama is the current president, I would say he is" You think Obama was born in Kenya but you would rather have Trump with higher taxes. Who else thinks Obama was born in Kenya.

"Sounds like a dictatorship is around the corner." The way you are talking it sounds like there is already a Muslim one in the WH now. Do you also agree the Obama was born in Kenya?

@ backscratcher

Snopes refutes claims that the footage of the celebrating Palestinians was not from the 1990’s; I have never made such claims so I don’t know how Snopes shows that I am wrong.

According to Wikipedia:

Annette Krüger Spitta of the ARD's (German public broadcasting) TV magazine Panorama states that footage not aired shows that the street surrounding the celebration in Jerusalem is quiet. Furthermore, she states that a man in a white T-shirt incited the children and gathered people together for the shot. The Panorama report, dated September 20, 2001, quotes Communications Professor Martin Löffelholz explaining that in the images one sees jubilant Palestinian children and several adults but there is no indication that their pleasure is related to the attack. The woman seen cheering (Nawal Abdel Fatah) stated afterwards that she was offered cake if she celebrated on camera, and was frightened when she saw the pictures on television afterward.

Anyway, the fact remains that the only ones who were caught celebrating on 9/11 in New Jersey were Israelis, not Muslims.

I have never made such claims so I don’t know how Snopes shows that I am wrong.

Yes. Yes, you did. Here you are doing just that very thing.

Doo-BopNov. 14, 2015 - 08:42PM JST

Yes, I remember those images of Palestinians celebrating after 9/11... which turned out to be older footage of them celebrating something completely unrelated, such as a sports victory.

Here you are right above in this thread claiming the same thing:

Yes, Palestinians were shown soon after the attacks,, but it turned out they were not celebrating the attacks.

You neglected to provide a link to wiki. I wonder why.

Nah... I know why...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactions_to_the_September_11_attacks#Palestinian_celebrations

A group of Palestinians were filmed celebrating in the street in celebration of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the deaths of Americans. Fox News reported that in Ein el-Hilweh, Lebanon's largest Palestinian refugee camp, revelers fired weapons in the air, with similar celebratory gunfire heard at the Rashidiyeh camp near the southern city of Tyre as well The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) condemned the attacks and attempted to censure and discredit broadcasts and other news reports.[ with many newspapers, magazines, websites and wire services running photographs. The PNA claimed such celebrations were not representative of the sentiments of the Palestinian people, and the Information Minister Yasser Abed Rabbo said the PNA would not allow "a few kids" to "smear the real face of the Palestinians". In an attempt to quash further reporting, Ahmed Abdel Rahman, Arafat's Cabinet secretary, said the Palestinian Authority could not "guarantee the life" of an Associated Press (AP) cameraman if footage he filmed of post-9/11 celebrations in Nablus was broadcast. Rahman's statement prompted a formal protest from the AP bureau chief, Dan Perry.

There was also rumour that the footage of some Palestinians celebrating the attacks was stock footage of Palestinian reactions to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990. This rumour was proven false shortly afterwards and CNN issued a statement to that effect.[38] A poll conducted by the Fafo Foundation in the Palestinian Authority in 2005 found that 65% of respondents supported "Al Qaeda's actions like bombings in USA and Europe".

the fact remains that the only ones who were caught celebrating on 9/11 in New Jersey were Israelis, not Muslims.

Actually, the fact remains that there are multiple witnesses and videos of Palestinians celebrating the attacks. There are no videos or hard evidence of celebrations on the part of any Israelis in the New Jersey area and certainly none in Israel itself.

Now, I know you will ignore this and continue to make the false claim that Palestinians were celebrating a football match or some such thing. However, the Palestinian Authority Information Minister Yasser Abed Rabbo admitted that it did in fact happen. He just said they did not represent all Palestinians.

So, my advice would be to give this one up. You are clearly mistaken as evidenced by your needing to link an obvious anti-Israeli website to attempt to support your very weak argument.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Yes, thank you for retrieving my previous point, which proves that as I claimed above I had not referred to stock footage of Palestinian reactions to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.

There are no videos or hard evidence of celebrations on the part of any Israelis in the New Jersey area and certainly none in Israel itself.

The link I provided above shows FBI reports, which despite being heavily redacted, are quite revealing; have a look. Regarding videos, I do remember a video of Netanyahu saying the attacks were "good for Israel". That is what he said publicly, I wonder what he did privately.

@Nishikat,

It`s basic common sense. You are obviously not paying attention.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

OK, you think Obama was born in Kenya. There are two here who have confirmed that. Anyone else?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What is common sense?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@bass4funk

He can tell some very interesting and questionable stories, but how is his lying different from Obama's or Hillary's? A lie is a lie, right? Or do liberals have another euphemism for lying when it involves them?

In the sense of someone intentionally saying something they know to be untrue, a lie is a lie.

In the sense that all lies are the same, and all equally bad, then no.

How is Trump's lying different from Obama's or Hillary's? He singles out a specific group of people (Muslims) in a specific location (Jersey City) in specifically large numbers (thousands) and constructs something patently untrue from those ingredients. Which group did Obama or Hillary target in the same very specific way?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@nishikat,

Oh boy!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

You didn't answer my question.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Donalds right. I recall the scenes in the Middle East showing so-called Palestinians cheering and screaming in jubilation that the twin towers collapsed.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Yes, thank you for retrieving my previous point, which proves that as I claimed above I had not referred to stock footage of Palestinian reactions to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.

You claimed that the Palestinians filmed by news crews were not celebrating 9/11 and that they were celebrating something else. Both wiki and snopes show you to be incorrect. They were in fact celebrating the 9/11 attacks. You have claimed incorrectly several times now that they were not. You were and are wrong about that.

The link I provided above shows FBI reports

It shows no connection to the attacks whatsoever. It shows no evidence of any connection to the attacks whatsoever.

Regarding videos,

Ironically, in a discussion about Trump, you sound just like him. You keep making up claims that you cannot back up and you make hints that are not connected to what you claim they are. You are in a glass house. I recommend that you stop throwing your stones.

There is no video of Israelis celebrating 9/11 anywhere. There is a confirmed video of Palestinians doing so. You can keep trying to avoid the facts, but there they are staring you in the face.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Donalds right. I recall the scenes in the Middle East showing so-called Palestinians cheering and screaming in jubilation that the twin towers collapsed.

That's not what "Donald" said though is it. He said there were videos of thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating the towers' fall. He didn't say the Middle East.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Yes, who cares what Muslims or anyone else cheered about anywhere. This is about what DT claimed that did not even happen. Specifically in NJ.

Oh boy!

Please state the "basic common sense" information as you see it. Simply in one short sentence.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Pointofview - you seem to be under the the mistaken impression that common sense is actually common, or even always sense.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Strangerland,

Have no idea what you are one about with your witty comments. BTW, more documents being uncovered regarding the New Jersey celebrations. Regarding the thousands of people, I don`t know about that. But what exactly is the news focusing on now? that he exaggerated a number or that there were actually people celebrating? Seems they are ignoring the occurrence and just want to go on about a number. So stupid. 50, 100 or 1000 people, who cares, it happened and they are thugs.

@nishikat,

You are completely wrong and should stop getting your news from Huffington Post and Wash Post (now they are going on about Trumps golf skills and how they are no good) DUMB!. Theres proof so open your eyes. Of course you cant do that right? Its easier to say White Fascist than Radical Islamist Yeah?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

But what exactly is the news focusing on now? that he exaggerated a number or that there were actually people celebrating?

His claim was that he saw thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating the collapse of the towers. But there is no video to back up that claim, meaning he's either lying, or senile.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Strangerland,

There were people celebrating. Theres plenty of print as proof and eye witnesses. Well see if any video pops up.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

As for "plenty of print as proof", all that ink seems to refer to a single report by a single eye witness that resulted in the FBI detaining some Israelis who may or may not have been Israeli spies. I don't know that I would ever refer to a single eye witness's account as "plenty of proof".

Regardless, even that report was about only five people observed apparently celebrating the initial attack. This doesn't even come close to the "thousands" Trump says he was "100% right" about and video of these five celebrating CERTAINLY wasn't shown on TV. Trump is suffering from dementia.

But he quickly rejected Todd’s assertion that “this didn’t happen in New Jersey.”

“It did happen in New Jersey,” Trump said.

“I have a very good memory, I’ll tell you,” he said. “I saw it somewhere on television many years ago. And I never forgot it.”

And yet your "very good memory" conveniently forgot WHERE on television you supposedly saw this. This man is the perfect example of the south end of a northbound donkey - or, seeing as he's not a Democrat, perhaps the south end of a northbound elephant?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I remember talk of some 5 suspicious cheering Israelis and lots of evidence concerning their existence, possessions and behavior. Strange how when there is evidence, few want to believe, but when there is no evidence, so many insist on believing. Such people should seriously have their internet, voting and office holding privileges revoked.

I do remember seeing that video. It was on a 9/11 truther documentary, but it was real. 5 jews lined up,with cameras, and filming it, ready before it even happened. Rumor was that the Mossad was in on it.

So the left-wing people here are talking about Trump lying? Is that a joke? Have they not been reading about Ms Clinton?

Benghazi, emails, enlisting, named after Sir Edmund, being shot at, etc etc etc.

Only in America.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

So the left-wing people here are talking about Trump lying? Is that a joke? Have they not been reading about Ms Clinton?

So if she lied, that somehow excuses Trump's lies? I'm failing to see the relevance.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

If it wasn't for the chance that, thanks to the corrupted American voting system and number of Americans who, thanks to the overwhelming role money plays in the American government, have given up on voting because of how little a role it plays in how America is run, I'd be looking forward to Trump being the Republican nominee. There is no doubt that he would claim his loss to be due to 'rigging', his supporters would 'peacefully protest' on the streets of America's cities (basically running riot and attacking anyone who tried to protest their 'protest') and hey, presto, an exact replay of Ahmadinejad's reelection with the American government playing the role of 'dictator'.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

So if she lied, that somehow excuses Trump's lies? I'm failing to see the relevance.

There isn't any, some of these people seem to be so obsessed with Hillary Clinton that if it rained tomorrow they'd be on here ranting on and moaning about her. Never mind what liberals might think of Trump, not to mention conservatives with any sense, it's obvious that the Republican/right-wing media hate the fact that they can't seem to wipe out the Clintons even after decades of trying. I don't really care for the Clintons very much to be honest and I think a lot of the criticism is probably valid, but I just find that absolutely hilarious. They'll still be wailing and whining about Bill and Hillary long after Trump's been forgotten.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Benghazi, emails, enlisting, named after Sir Edmund, being shot at, etc etc etc.

Hrm. Does it get to you at all that every time right-wingers try go after the Clintons they just end up making themselves look stupid? And now it looks as if your best chance of stopping her from becoming president is Donald Trump?! Is that a joke?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@Simon Foston,

You truly are living in a world of the make believe if you think Hillary has clean feet. If the US wants jobs, good trade, security and strong economy Trump is miles better than Hillary. Shes another politician that is responsible for Americas mess. Can`t believe people are voting for her just because she is a woman. So stupid.

" if you think Hillary has clean feet." No indictments

Before you criticise people try reading what they've said properly.

Re: KCJapan” The only Truther Triumph Rump the Great is interested in is building the concentration camps he has promised for Mexicans and Muslims. Not true at all. The FEMA camps were built during the Clinton regime and continued at a faster pace during Obama’s reign. Speaking of liars amongst liars, Hilary is high on that list, at least the Don puts it out there, as for the massive thousands and videos cheering, I recall watching a few hundred in the US TV commentaries, celebrating and thousands on BBC but that group was not in the US. Did the cheering occur yes the Muslims were crazed Europhobic about it. . This is why Japan must not get involved in that part of the world and keep these people out of Japan. Japan is not the US where you can send us your rich, poor, old, weak , tired, and everything under the sun. Japan is Japan.

@nishikat,

Not yet. She`s certainly being protected. And no reporting about the case in the media.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

No, there is no case. BTW, it seems people on the right think blacks are inferior.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

And no reporting about the case in the media.

Can't report on something that doesn't exist, though Trump seems to enjoy claiming video exists that no one except anonymous twit-heads will corroborate.

(bringing the discussion back to the original article FOR THE WIN!)

1 ( +1 / -0 )

What everyone remembers was stories where the news interlaced reaction in the gaza strip and west bank with stories about the high Muslim population in Jersey city. They were sensationalized and intentionally miss leading aimed at people who have a 5 second attention span. The reporting was criticized at the time mainly because the neighborhoods they were referring too are majority Hindi not Muslim.

The real sad part of this story is that a NJ realestate developer could look at bombed out sections of the west bank and think "hey, that's NJ".

Don't people have the right to celebrate in the U.S.A?
