I wouldn’t be a bit surprised. This is how Trump works. It’s actually brilliant. Invite your enemies and take the wind out of their sails.

Wonder if he'll invite Putin?
The US is not party to the International Criminal Court, which issued an arrest warrant on Putin, so he wouldn't be subject to arrest upon arrival in the US.
My only concern would be that Musk would be jealous that someone else would be getting all the attention.
Other predictions; he will invite Orban, and Vucic of Serbia.

Partly. In Xi's case, it's more like "invite the people who you want to emulate and find out how they do it". So I agree that he will likely invite other unsavory types, to pick their brains. It's going to be like a mega-seminar on how to suppress your serfs.

Trump probably wants in on joining the Axis of Evil.

Trump probably thinks by enhancing Xi's face (He turned down meeting Ishiba) he can get a sweeter deal on all his Chinese manufactured bibles and sneakers and all the other junk that will be produced during his presidency.

Sure, why wouldn't he. Both are accomplished leaders who firmly stand up / defend interests of their country and constituents. As they were elected to do.
I note that you overlooked the bit about Putin.
You'd be OK with him being at the inauguration too? Just for the record, you know.

Putin will be busy winning the Ukraine conflict in January and doing his Christmas shopping for goodies.
Medvedev is in Beijing right now with a high-level delegation, so invite him. He could be a good icebreaker.

Heard that before.

Never going to happen for a number of reasons. Why Trump would invite world leaders with what should be a celebration of USA democracy is odd but on brand.

This is how Trump dominates the 24/7 news cycle -- with outrageous and flamboyant antics that make the US public think something meaningful is taking place, when in fact it's all glitter and glitz.

Trump could invite Putin without arresting because the US is not a member of the ICC.

There is no denying that China is a capitalistic society. China is just better at distributing wealth to a population of 1.4 billion; that is the difference indeed profound.
Though China has lifted 800 millions out of poverty, almost all major Chinese cities today still have settlements of migrant workers who travel from the impoverished countryside to work on construction sites, bus tables, and perform other tasks that are generally eschewed by the more fortunate Chinese who have urban hukou, 戸口, or residence permits.
Unable to claim residency in the city, China’s migrants lack access to education and health care. They are uninsured but do many of the most dangerous jobs and are the coolies 苦力 doing the KKK 緊い, 汚い、危険 hard, dirty and dangerous work.

Classic Trump. Xi has walked all over the likes of Biden and Justin True Dough. He has had a great few years and looked so comfortable in his autocratic skin knowing how weak this brand of corruptible Western leaders were.
Bring him in for the Trump inauguration and just enjoy the new body language and micro gestures. They will tell a whole new story and show the whole world we are about to enter a new era.
No way he will come, but it’d be great to see if he did. Chinese fentanyl and precursors has been some of the key ‘death by a thousand cuts’ strategies ( some sort of warped revenge for the opium wars ? ) to destroy America from within for years now, and Trump is bang on to make it one of the first ‘points of discussion’ between the two nations. Fight, fight, fight!

So the correct response to a man who has apparently "walked over" western leaders, is to invite them to the inauguration of Trump, who literally admires people who "walk over" western leaders.
An interesting take, I'll grant.

Quite the opposite mate. Xi won't be able to walk over this next one, and it will be evident to see if he did choose to come, which he most definitely won't. Xi won't venture anywhere that he doesn't feel he will be able to control. That was the point I was trying to make.

Putin walked all over him, and Xi's not an idiot, so I don't see why he can't do the same.
Trump's already promoting Tuls Gabbard, who's long been suspected of being a Russian asset, and why would he promote someone like that if he knew she was perceived in that way?
I don't know if your country has a particularly high percentage of Trump worshippers, but you might want to sit this one out.
Tokyo Guy
Spelling edit: Tulsi Gabbard. (I reckon "Tulski" might be even more apposite)

It was the British who were the drug dealers not the Americans in mid 19th century. The US was busy annexing California and securing territory west of the Rocky Mountains.
The United States of America needs to be better at taking care of their own borders and preventing unwanted substances from being trafficked from Mexico. Does Mexico have a problem with fentanyl?
NCIS Reruns
Mexico has a problem with guns, which the drug lords import from the US to control their territory, using incredible violence. They can afford the guns because millions of Americans are hooked on their poison and are pumping huge amounts of greenbacks into the country.

Publicty stunts and charades will not make the global free world a safer place.
Maybe Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un could tag along as senior officals during the "swear in” oath ceremony?

Is PM Ishiba not invited?

Remember the claims of China Joe from circa 2021? Now it seems we were always allied with China.
