Ambush marketing. The guy in the middle wants the actual elected guy to his right to heft the bill for the ongoing proxy to his left.

The group did not appear to include anyone with expertise on Ukraine.

Important he doesn't repeat the same fundamental errors of Biden, assuming he has expertise in anything beyond a pardon.

-12 ( +9 / -21 )

Well Macron thought this was a good idea. Hopefully Trump is being reminded Trump's only plan is to arm Ukraine.

Agreed. Biden held back too much; was too timid. If Trump wants to make a difference, he should increase military aid to Ukraine.

3 ( +14 / -11 )

he only went because melania wanted to go shopping.

6 ( +16 / -10 )

What is Donald doing there? (ok, he was invited - big mistake)

What is his "official" role? (assisting Melonia on her shopping spree?)

He ain't POTUS yet. (and it's till another month until he becomes. Lot can happen in between)

And what ever he said and promised: be careful! (as not only but also his first 4 years as POTUS has proven)

He utters one thing and does the complete opposite!

Taking care of himself and his clan's pockets.

What is Donald doing there?

he needed get away. he's been filling the swamp and the smell is rancid.

7 ( +16 / -9 )

Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and X who has spent considerable time with Trump since the election and spent millions to elect him, was also in attendance at Notre Dame.

Only proper that oligarchical capital that has captured US democracy makes it presence known.

That stuff about rich men and camels and needles is not where the Church is now.

So it seems that Trump can visit with other heads of states, but not with Ishiba. Makes one wonder why...

2 ( +8 / -6 )

Please don't ignore Ukraine! To do so would be a colossal mistake.

What is Donald doing there? (ok, he was invited - big mistake)

He was in town for the reopening of Notre Dame...

2 ( +6 / -4 )

underworld,

so he really had no business being there, right?

I mean, it was a reception for state leaders (he never was, he'll never be one).

Or did he (respectively Elon) donate to the project? Have not heard about it.

Oh, he wanted to be in the limelight again for another PR gig.

Here is the hidden agenda of Trump.. Why he was invited...Watch here

That top photo speaks volumes. Trump is furious because there's someone there with more integrity, more popularity, and more brains than him.

And there's Macron too.

2 ( +11 / -9 )

Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and X who has spent considerable time with Trump since the election and spent millions to elect him, was also in attendance at Notre Dame.

Devil is in the detail. Fact Musk is there is good or bad news depending on the angle. Ultimately means Macron's attempt to sell Trump a lemon won't pass a standard pub test.

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

Trump being welcome by a unpopular President,is not gonna boost any of them standing

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Macron's attempt to sell Trump a lemon

Trump doesn't need another lemon; he clearly has Musk in his pocket anyway. Or possibly the other way around.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Macron has argued that Ukraine's defeat or a cease-fire with Russia on unfavorable terms to Ukraine would be viewed as a loss for the U.S. and even Trump himself, according to two European officials familiar with the matter.

Still Biden's proxy war.

EU knows they can't fund or arm this thing themselves. That's why they are trying to finesse Trump and Musk.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Dog help us.

he will stab Zelensky in the back, he has no morals, empathy nor compassion.

-2 ( +9 / -11 )

Seems like leaders across the globe are hoping some Trump magic rubs off on them.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Well Macron thought this was a good idea. Hopefully Trump is being reminded Trump's only plan is to arm Ukraine.

Trump doesn’t care about that, he’s made that abundantly clear, he will give them some aid, but nothing like before, thankfully. This is the reason he will try and negotiate a peace plan between Vlad and Zelenskyy

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

Evidence. Former UK PM Johnson, in a recorded interview about a week ago with the Telegraph defence editor and another senior editor, in their building in London, brazenly stated in plain English, that the Ukraine conflict is a "proxy war". He openly admitted it without being asked to. The full interview is available on YouTube (recorded version and video version).

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

That is an ODD main photo , Mr. Zelenskyy some how just doesn't fit well.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Politik Kills

Dog help us.

he will stab Zelensky in the back, he has no morals, empathy nor compassion.

He will cut the funding for Zelenski and force a negotiated settlement. That is helping Ukraine and stop the needless killing of more people. If you call that "stab Zelenski in the back", that is your word game. Do you seriously want Zelenski now to draft 17-year olds and send them to the front, like Hitlers "Volkssturm"?

-7 ( +7 / -14 )

@Zaphod--Zelenskyy is a hard name to nail the spelling. However, the way you are writing it is closer to the version used by Vladimir Putins inlaws, you know his son-in-law the dancer.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

What is Donald doing there? (ok, he was invited - big mistake)

According to whom?

What is his "official" role? (assisting Melonia on her shopping spree?)

Weekend liberal humor??

He ain't POTUS yet.

But will be next month, relax

(and it's till another month until he becomes. Lot can happen in between)

Like what? People will become millionaires because of Bitcoin investment?

And what ever he said and promised: be careful! (as not only but also his first 4 years as POTUS has proven)

With over 280 accomplishments

He utters one thing and does the complete opposite!

So does every other leader.

Taking care of himself and his clan's pockets.

America is his biggest clan, I expect it!

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

so he really had no business being there, right?

He does, because he’s somewhat already running the country essentially.

I mean, it was a reception for state leaders (he never was, he'll never be one).

Maybe in your personal opinion, In my opinion, Biden was never President. We all have opinions, it’s ok. In my house I’m king as long as I don’t tell my wife that to her face.

Or did he (respectively Elon) donate to the project? Have not heard about it.

Elon will have a huuuuge roll next month firing thousands of people, that’s coming.

Oh, he wanted to be in the limelight again for another PR gig.

The left are laughing now, let’s see these Federal workers laugh after the 20th next month

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

So glad to see Trump there for the re-opening of Notre Dame - a strong Christian symbol. And just before Christmas too. Great.

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

Photo-op on the world stage with orange tie but without a TrumpBible. 2025 will be a bumpy year for our world that's more than "a little crazy".

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Trump did not donate Macron a signed copy of his Bible.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Firing workers and taking food off their tables is not something to rejoice about.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

I have a different opinion

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

I wonder what Trump will do if Zelensky refuses to surrender & cede territory to Russia?

Will he supply Putin with weapons or just shrug and walk away?

Hard to predict what course of treachery and betrayal will Make America Great Again.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

I wonder what Trump will do if Zelensky refuses to surrender & cede territory to Russia?

Zelenskyy doesn’t have a lot of wriggle room options, he goes for a negotiated peace deal or this war rages on, but Putin won’t stop and the money he gets from us US taxpayers, that’s over with, so he needs to think very carefully going forward.

Will he supply Putin with weapons or just shrug and walk away?

Weapons? You mean China. Anyway, Russia will probably want sanction relief for starters…

Hard to predict what course of treachery and betrayal will Make America Great Again.

Making sure America comes first and foremost.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Well, he negotiated the US exit from Afghanistan, leaving Biden to carry the can for the collapse and rout that followed.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Will he supply Putin with weapons or just shrug and walk away?

Weapons? You mean China.

No, I don't mean China. What will Trump do if Zelensky isn't keen on being forced into surrendering territory to Putin?

Anyway, Russia will probably want sanction relief for starters…

Why? Apparently they never worked anyway.

Trump gifting massive bits of Ukraine to Putin would be oh so MAGA. Coupled with the border Death Camps it will be a great start to the reich.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

No, I don't mean China. What will Trump do if Zelensky isn't keen on being forced into surrendering territory to Putin?

Not much he can do, but one thing is for certain, Europe will need to step up then because the days of handing out free U.S. taxpayer money are over, you can take that to the bank.

Why? Apparently they never worked anyway.

Not to a large extent, but still slightly

Trump gifting massive bits of Ukraine to Putin would be oh so MAGA. Coupled with the border Death Camps it will be a great start to the reich.

What?

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Most of the money 'for Ukraine' goes to US defense contractors and their workforces anyway.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Macron, another western leader who refuses to go despite his unpopularity. This guy lives on another planet. When the west and its vassal states don't get their way, they don't hold elections (as in Ukraine) or nullify election results (like in Romania).

Witnessing a desperate President Macron fawning licking President elect Donald Trump boots is Europe's final humiliation.

Lining up on a global platform "toadying" currying favour with a President elect Donald Trump they all privately despise is truly nauseating.

“United States, Ukraine and France. Together on this historic day. United for Notre-Dame. Let’s continue to work together for peace and security,” Macron wrote on X afterward.

Trump and Macron clash during NATO summit meeting....this the reality, not so distant past

The Notre-Dame restoration is a truly remarkable achievement.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

The three leaders spoke in English, and a translator was in the room, according to a French official.

A translator translator from which language to which? Zelensky can barely speak a few words in English, he doesn't need a translator for his English:) Obviously, he didn't say anything meaningful. Not more than: Hi, Donald! How are you? Or.... He spoke Russian (a language he had forbidden himself to speak) He speaks Russian perfectly.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Donald Trump remarkable comeback could soon become Europe nightmare.

Especially where Europe economic/Nato military security is concerned.

Ukraine ceasefire will not be solved with "phone calls, threats, or deals" years of Putin atrocities are ingrained into the people of Ukraine souls, clearly etched on Zelenskyy face.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

If Trump wants to make a difference, he should increase military aid to Ukraine.

Nah, but Trump can/ will make a real difference by bringing Ukraine/ Russia to negotiating table and bringing peace that Ukraine needs more than anything. Prolonging the war is only good for the MIC , nobody else.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

so he really had no business being there, right?

The president of France invited Donald. Anti Trump crowd opinion is irrelevant.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Putin was invited but he declined. Wonder why?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

bass,

except for the "wife comment", sorry, but can't follow your explanations or even agree.

But as you said: opinions are like ..... everybody's got one!

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Look contemplate this, wasn't this war in Ukraine destined to "end within 24 hours"?

Sometimes in the rush for electoral change ignorance is bliss.

Starmers recent elevation 10 Downing Street is a depressing example.
