lavished praise on the "magnificent" kingdom and "the grandeur of this remarkable place."

This 'magnificent' kingdom was built on the backs of workers treated worse than animals. Saudis treat their camels, even their goats, much better than foreign workers. This is a country that banned slavery in 1962, and 'replaced' it with a system of indentured servitude. This is a country that has official policies allowing discrimination. There are formal rules in place for members of the royal family that differ for those from members of other Saudi tribes that differ from those from tribes in other Gulf countries that differ from those who are foreign Muslims that differ from those are foreign non-Muslims. Very little of this country's 'grandeur' was created by Saudis. And Trump praises them?

Rex Tillerson hammered Iran's newly re-elected president for his government's oppressive policies.

So Trump'ss scrapping diplomatic balance and opting to choose sides: Saudi and the Sunnis against Iran. Has Rex checked with his friends and business partners in Russia who, from what's been reported, have been supportive of Iran?

More wars for petroleum to further enrich the world's oil-garchs? Is the US big war industry all that the country's got left to offer the world?

Absolute power, Insane wealth without any work, Golden palaces...I'm surprised he can talk through the drool.

Does he know that the 9/11 terrorists were Saudis? That Al-Qaeda and ISIS are Sunni organizations? That Saudi Arabia is a Sunni state? They are playing him for the fool he is. Show him opulent wealth, treat him like the most important person in the world, flatter his ego and give him a "win" he can brag about and he will give you everything. The Saudi royal family will continue to finance terrorism throughout the world because they are religious extremists, and they will laugh at how easy it was to manipulate Trump.

There's deafening silence from both left and right media outlets regarding the obvious, despicable treatment of workers, gays, exporting of terrorism, 9/11 connections? Speaks volumes on who wears the pants in that disgusting relationship!! Shame!!

Does he know that the 9/11 terrorists were Saudis?

Well even Obama knew that when he bowed and scraped before the Saudi royals. What is your point? Usually you have people complaining about the US going around telling other countries they must follow American values. Then there are those that have to complain when America isn't bossing around others. Heads you win tails we lose.

Well even Obama knew that when he bowed and scraped before the Saudi royals.

Obama shouldn't have been doing it either.

What is your point?

I think the point was that Trump just made a deal to give the country that attacked the US $110 billion worth of weapons. After destroying Iraq - who didn't have a single attacker on the planes.

Well even Obama knew that when he bowed and scraped before the Saudi royals. What is your point?

That we shouldn't have cozy ties with sponsors of terrorism no matter which party holds power? That blurting out 'But Obama' or 'But Bush!' like you have Tourette's isn't a reasonable tactic. That Trump's weekend in Riyadh is particularly ironic given that he spent most of the past year blathering on about radical Islamic terrorism. Who knew how cozy things could get so quickly. It's almost like he's a moral cipher with no deeply held ideas about anything.

Whether it's Obama ( the man some on the right claimed was a Muslim ), or Trump ( the man who talked about Muslims hating America ), Saudi Arabia is free to spread violent, intolerant religious filth around the planet and buy fearsome weaponry.

Can a rightist please post 'there's a new sheriff in town'?

Well if the US had evidence that the Saudi state attacked America either Bush or Obama could have spoken up about it. Maybe instead of overthrowing the Taliban one of them could have bombed Riyadh instead. But of course you are peddling a conspiracy with little to back it up.

Also the deal doesn't "give" the Saudi's anything. They are paying the US (as opposed to the US paying Iran to chant 'Death To America' over and over).

["We are not here to tell other people how to live, what to do, who to be, or how to worship," Trump declared Sunday.]

This article did not mention it, but he spent his time in Saudi condemning Iran for terrorist acts and for it's influence. For one, not a single of the nineteen hijackers on 9/11 were Iranian, but fifteen were Suadi. Secondly, Iran is part of the Middle East, so obviously they have a stake in what goes on there.

Yet Trump wont tell people how to live, what to do and who to be... Astounding his hypocracy. And no, other presidents from our past should not have had such dealing with these terrorist funding nations either. But at least others have also said what needed to be said and in the case of Obama have to tried to make Iran a less opposing force. Trump has no intention of allowing for such free thinking. A more stable Middle East means a less profitable US arms dealings.

The speech seemed to be a case of let's unite against a common enemy; Iran.

Now, if Iran was propping up the US economy, I wonder would there might have been a different address to the gathering?

Double-standards Donald didn't mention "radical islam" once in his speech, but slagged Obama off for not mentioning it.

Instead, Don tried to claim that radical islamists are not muslims at all. Those people self-identify as muslims and Don has no religious authority to claim otherwise.

Double-standards Donald didn't mention "radical islam" once in his speech, but slagged Obama off for not mentioning it.

That's hypocrisy number one. Hypocrisy number two will be that his followers will not only not condemn him for not mentioning radical islam, they'll even defend him on it.

Another hypocrisy:

*March 2016**: In an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, Mr. Trump says: "I think Islam hates us. There's something there. There's a tremendous hatred there."*

But hey, that was just playing to the home crowd, right? And he's doing the same thing abroad, identifying the crowd pleasing scapegoat: Iran.

Every US President as long as I can remember has kissed the a$$ of Saudi Royals. This is not limited to Trump nor Obama. It is all about the petro dollars

Every US President as long as I can remember has kissed the a$ of Saudi Royals.

It's true. Though Trump is unlike the rest of them as he has regularly criticized Islam, and talked about how they hate us, but then kowtows to them the first time he ends up with them.

"Radical Islamic Terrorism"

Trump criticized others for not saying that phrase

But when it's his turn on the stage, he ended up doing the same thing they did

(as opposed to the US paying Iran to chant 'Death To America' over and over).

Which event when that happened?

I think the quote to Anderson Cooper could have been a genuine statement of dislike. He did claim to have seen thousands of Muslims dancing in New York on "7/11" as he put it. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if he actually had no problem with Muslims or doesn't actually know what a Muslim is and just said it to wind up the racist whoopers at rallies. It's hard to tell.

As to his statement in Saudi Arabia, it was clearly a case of disciplining him and just stopping him pulling his pants down and crapping at the lectern. He's beyond worries about attacks based on his hypocrisy now - the attacks are far more tangible. I can imagine his speechwriter(s) thinking they'll take the hypocrisy punches as opposed to yet another controversy or Trump let off the leash bellowing a tirade of stupidity and trash.

"We are not here to tell other people how to live, what to do, who to be, or how to worship,"

Now if we could just make that the policy of the religious right here in the US...

So Trump'ss scrapping diplomatic balance and opting to choose sides: Saudi and the Sunnis against Iran.

A wise choice. When you think about it, SA has as much to fear from a Nuclear Iran just as much as Israel. Yes, they have oil and we have had that relationship since 1933 we get oil and what else are we supposed to do, just dump them, take our chances that they could turn their backs on us in this war on terror? If we do not side with them, the Saudis could start acquiring their own pursuit of nukes or they can cozy up to the Russians for help, you really want that? I sure don't! So basically as the old saying goes "keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer" the Saudis coontrol the oil market, they almost successfully put frackers in the US out of business, I personally hate the Saudis, all of the hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis and the most prolific of them all was OBL, so I have a personal grudge towards the Saudis, make No mistake, but I'm not a fool either, so until we get a better and more dependable and reliable source, this is it.

Nonesense! What a stupid myth! You think these big wigs are sitting in a thick leather chair sipping on bourbon like Mr. Burns and planning for launching the next war? Boy, you guys really need to leave the TV alone.
