What do black Americans have to lose? What do any of us have to lose? How much harm could a violence prone racist, psychotic, ego-maniacal, pathological liar really do with the reins of America's government and nuclear weapons at his fingertips. What could possibly go wrong?

4 ( +10 / -6 )

Would Trump consider a Latino for the Supreme Court pick? Or are they too Mexican?

7 ( +9 / -2 )

What could possibly go wrong?

A successful Presidency without spin and corruption.

The headline: The National Hispanic Advisory Council

The reality: The National Hispanic Advisory Council for Trump

Hispanics make up more than 15% of the US population, around 50,000,000 people. In any large population anomalies and outliers, e.g. Hispanics for Trump, will occur.

Curious that he's meeting with 'faith healers'; another odd group within the Trump cult.

In a meme based election, watch 'What do you have to lose?' join 'rigged', 'MSM', and 'this is interesting' as currency among the cultists.

Coming soon: Trump-La Raza University.

All that is missing from the gringo in this picture is a sombrero hat and a "happy Cincodemayo" taco bowl...

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump is meeting with them because next week is "Immigration" week and he is scheduled present an immigration plan in Colorado Thursday. How far he goes towards an openness to deportation v. legalization / amnesty of illegals already here is the big question. My own preference would be to Wage it by attrition. Go after the people who would be hardest hit first, the employers. That alone would start the domino effect of leaving. But even if in the end it does involve a legalization compromise (which he new campaign chair supports), I’d rather have Trump get elected and secure our borders, then him trying to deport them all and not get elected.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Hey, were is the taco bowl? He didn't roll that out again for this photo op?

Seriously, Latinos voting for Trump is like blacks voting for David Duke. The made up Latino Advisory board members should be ashamed of themselves for supporting a candidate that calls them rapists and worst.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

lol, what a two faced hypocrite.

consistently insulted and baited Hispanics/Latino's in America for the white vote, and now that election time is coming around the corner, switches his tune and starts sucking up to the Latino/Black voting bloc.

too little too late

Hillary 2016

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

The all new trash-free, teleprompter Trump isn't anywhere near as entertaining.

How long before the chains are broken and the trash inside reaches critical mass? He's gonna blow soon. It won't be pretty.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

So is this the Hispanic version of Omarosa?

Too little, too late, I'd say.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Good on him!

He is out there trying to work with everyone! I`m sure all the millions of Latino immigrants who came to the States legally through the proper channels will also appreciate the line cutters not being pushed ahead.

Id rather see a leader who is a hard worker TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS than golfing or sleeping. Such as going to disaster ravaged lands and getting a good look at what is going on, reaching into his own pocket to give supplies than sending a mere phone call! Where is Clinton anyways? Couldnt the Clinton Foundation at least have sent a few thousands dollars worth of supplies even though they (The Clintons) keep over 90% of the profits?

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

consistently insulted and baited Hispanics/Latino's in America for the white vote

All you have to do is insult Hispanics and you get the white vote? If that's the case I guess Trump has already won.

now that election time is coming around the corner, switches his tune and starts sucking up to the Latino/Black voting bloc.

Is there a latino/black voting bloc? I wonder if they are as easy to get as the white vote. Just insult the right person and they will all vote your way? Hey you know, this politics thing is pretty easy after all.

It really doesn't matter if Trump successfully taps into the non-white vote or not. After all, all the white bigots are voting for him because he insulted Latinos and white voters still outnumber all the rest combined.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Jeffery Domer: "Couldn't the Clinton Foundation at least have sent a few thousands dollars worth of supplies even though they (The Clintons) keep over 90% of the profits?"

FYI, Jeffery, the Clinton Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization. It does not have "profits". Perhaps better words might be "income" or "donations". Your "10%" figure sounds like that used by Dinesh D'souza in his very recently published book "Hillary's America". The footnote given on page 244 identifies the source of this figure as Peter Schweizer in "Clinton Cash" (HarperCollins, 2015). D'souza has some good incites on the Democratic Party and the Clintons if you're interested in the conservative viewpoint.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Dinesh D'souza? Isn't he a convicted felon? I think he managed to avoid a prison term. I think he's also the same guy who tweeted a photoshopped image of Hillary Clinton in front of a Confederate flag.

Hillary Clinton is low but D'souza could walk underneath her wearing a top hat.

It's amazing how some people would take anything written by a type like this seriously as long as it bashes 'untrustworthy' Hillary.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Would Trump consider a Latino for the Supreme Court pick? Or are they too Mexican?

Sure, I don't think he'd have any problem with it, as long a Latino judge agreed to recuse him or herself from all cases involving Caucasians. Y'know, for fairness. 'Cause Hispanics, Asians, and blacks can't be impartial when it comes to law and order. At least that's how it is in the Bubble of Trump.

This is yet another point where minorities all across America should be getting hopping mad with Trump and his little band of socially maladjusted misfits. This ploy -- and that's all it really is, a ploy -- to suck up to Hispanics is so blinking transparent and obvious that he really must think the entire demographic is made up of imbeciles. For all intents and purposes, Trump believes Hispanics are stupid.

Here's to proving him stunningly wrong in November.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Jimizo: First, read D'souza's book. "Felon"? Second, read D'souza's book. "Tweeted a photoshopped image of Hillary Clinton in front of a Confederate flag"? Read this: "There was one problem: The photograph had been doctored, though not by D'souza." (PunditFact, Louis Jacobson, July 7, 2015) Was it doctored by D'souza? Jacobson says no. Do everyone a favor - honestly - and give a link to D'souza's apology. He's the type who would apologize. And, Jimizo, you write: "It's amazing how some people would take anything written by a type like this... ". I find it amazing how some people take anything written by a "type" like you seriously as long as you are willfully blind to... impropriety... by the Clintons. (I won't play the race card and claim that you are prejudiced against brown-skinned immigrants.)

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

He is out there trying to work with everyone! I`m sure all the millions of Latino immigrants who came to the States legally through the proper channels will also appreciate the line cutters not being pushed ahead.

I think so as well. It's the fact that as a presidential candidate and from the optics, it's the thought and the presence that counts.

Exactly, you hit the nail right on the head. Obama and Hillary ONLY care about themselves. This whole garbage of spin that they didn't want to see these people because of problems with security or impeding the rescue efforts is just nothing but laughable. It's just insulting that they think people believe it. This is both Obama and Hillary's Katrina moment.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

FYI, Jeffery, the Clinton Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization

Bwaa Ha Ha Ha!!

Who would have thought Hillary lefties could love wars of conquest so much?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Bill Murphy, Well said.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

What a charlatan. At this point all he's doing is preaching to his insane followers. The cards are long dealt after his outrageous campaign of bigotry and racism. The angry white male minority are energized, but they are the only muppets that will be voting for Trump. The base isn't going to grow.

And the more the media dig into Trump's murky financial web, the more it looks like I've been saying all along that the "billionaire" is up to the hilt in debt. Hundreds of millions of dollars. And he apparently lies on his tax returns. This scandal is just beginning. Time to release them returns Donald, let's see how far into Don Putin you really are.

The Meltdown continues....

all immigrants are one kind of refugees originally; so trump himself -thru his forefathers he was an immigrant is it not? when so how he calls mexicans are immigrants as if trump is not? i wonder if you get secured position you call others as immigrants and drive them out; is it a feasible strategy trump think a while.

Newest Trump unfunny:

"The New York Times reported on 20 August 2016 that, having employed a property information firm to search publicly available data on more than 30 U.S. properties connected to the Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump (including offices and golf courses), they found that companies belonging to Donald Trump have at least $650 million in debt, more than twice the amount shown in public filings made by his presidential campaign.

In addition to the $650 million in liabilities, the Times reported that "a substantial portion of [Trump's] wealth is tied up in three passive partnerships that owe an additional $2 billion to a string of lenders."

That level of debt that could significantly affect the valuation of Trump's wealth, an important factor given that the New York business magnate frequently cites his business acumen as one of his major qualifications for the presidency and often campaigns on a self-claimed spectacular real estate record, asserting he is worth $10 billion.

But estimating Trump's true net worth is a near impossible task for outsiders, as he has repeatedly declined to disclose his tax returns or allow an independent valuation of his assets. The Times noted that Trump's campaign filings show his businesses owed at least $315 million and that those filings appeared to be accurate, so their report was not in itself evidence of wrongdoing since Trump is not required to disclose all of his business activities. But the Times observed that their investigation "underscored how much of Mr Trump’s business remains shrouded in mystery" and "found that Mr Trump’s fortunes depend deeply on a wide array of financial backers, including one he has cited in attacks during his campaign."

Trump's lenders include one of the largest banks in China, a country the Republican candidate has often accused of being a U.S. economic foe, and the investment bank Goldman Sachs, a financial firm he has said influences his opponent, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton."

At least the Clinton's aren't in debt, and have always paid their bills.

But up is down to Trump voters - this is proof of anything but what the facts plainly say.

I await their excuses, subject-changing, and outright falsehoods, but I'll certainly be more pleased if even one displays some reasoned response to today's embarrassment.

I won't hold my breath, since exactly zero comments about what looks like quite the scandal about Manafort have appeared.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The cards are long dealt after his outrageous campaign of bigotry and racism. The angry white male minority are energized, but they are the only muppets that will be voting for Trump. The base isn't going to grow.

"Angry White male?" So if a conservative would say, angry Black male, that would be considered racist, but calling a White person angry, is not? Interesting.

If Trump is in debt, that would fail in compassion to what Hillary is and that's steeped deep corruption, so much so, even liberals are telling Hillary to discontinue her foundation, the ts too much of a heavy distraction, let alone breaming with corruption.

The Meltdown continues....

Don't expect him to heed any advice. 1/20/17 - "Madame President"

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Wow, so the Donald has a negative net worth. If he becomes President that is what he would do to the country as well. Really, how can his supporters be so blind to what this man really is. Look at the people he hires, an out of control anger management candidate, followed by a traitor to this country and also a criminal in Manafort, followed by a fired sexual rapist type in Roger Ailes, followed by a neo-nazi racist from Brietbart. And when his sons are not sawing the heads off of elephants they shot, they are also no prize either. Really, it is a collection of misfits and miscreants which shows the character of the leader. He is a con-artist that the republicans as they have been lied to for decades now by Fox news, cannot see for what he is. It if were not so sad it would be pathetic. Trump has gone bankrupt six times. His voters have no idea about this. He was just fired from the hit show the Apprentice for being a racist. His voters do not know this either. He has bragged about cheating on his wife in his books, his voters do not know this. His voters do not know much about him at all, again as they only watch fox news. It is as if they pride themselves in being misinformed. All facts posted here. Look them up and learn.

Zurc,

I'm interested also as to how the Alt-Right will organise the Denial into Trump's colossal mountain of debt.

FizzBit ? Goldman Sachs would seem to play a part here (again). What's the Kremlin excuse?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump up again in the USC/LATimes 7 day rolling poll for the second day in a row. He had been behind 7 points just 7 days ago.

Hillary’s disappearance after the Milwaukee riots and Louisiana floods and I think many Americans are becoming aware of Mr Trumps leadership abilities. Big surges in the Hispanic and AA demographics also.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Seems like everyone not insane has realised Trump's flood "efforts" were a photo-op. Even those in charge asked him to stay away but there you go....

bass4funkAUG. 21, 2016 - 07:36PM JST

"Angry White male?" So if a conservative would say, angry Black male, that would be considered racist,

Not if referring to a black man who's angry. It's not denigrating anyone, just stating a fact. "If a conservative would say?" Don't you mean "If a conservative said?" Not putting a lot of effort into making yourself sound articulate and persuasive, are you? Imagine what swing voters must think if they read this kind of thing.

...but calling a White person angry, is not? Interesting.

No, and it's not.

If Trump is in debt, that would fail in compassion to what Hillary is and that's steeped deep corruption, so much so, even liberals are telling Hillary to discontinue her foundation, the ts too much of a heavy distraction, let alone breaming with corruption.

"Compassion?" "ts too much of a heavy distraction, let alone breaming with corruption" ?!!???!!??? Has it ever occurred to you that your comments would be harder to dismiss if you didn't write incoherent gibberish like this?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

He went to about all white Michigan city to speak about Dem neglected black people. He is not in Hispanic American area to have this speech. His new campaign stuffs need to know more Hispanic people live in western states.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

He will be out West this week. Last night's speech was in a heavily black city in Virginia. The bottom line is that if Donald Trump can continue the disciplined and "more presidential" approach of the past week, I don't see any way he does not win in a landslide.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Last night's speech was in a heavily black city in Virginia.

Last night's speech was in Fredricksburg, Virginia, which is nearly 75% white. I interpret that 20 to 25 percent people of color might be considered "heavy" for Trump supporters.

if Donald Trump can continue the disciplined and "more presidential" approach

Trump is acting like the awful kid who suddenly starts behaving himself a month before Christmas. The adults are not taken in by it.

I don't see any way he does not win in a landslide.

Of course you do. (This election has been "rigged," remember?) We're not seeing any positive Trump-bump here in Georgia.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I don't see any way he does not win in a landslide.

HRC is at 85% chance of winning the election. That is why Trump is giving up and starting his media company now using the deluded people who fell for Palin 8 years ago. You are right about a landslide coming up, you are wrong on who will be on the losing side.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Trump may talk bananas while create gold so not important what he is saying now we know he will make america strong and he is willing to give Japan "free hand" something democrats will never do....

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I meant that the African American population was above the national number and well above the places in Wisconsin and Michigan where Trump made earlier appeals.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Wow, so the Donald has a negative net worth. If he becomes President that is what he would do to the country as well. Really, how can his supporters be so blind to what this man really is.

After what Hillary has been secretly doing for 35 years and then is NOT transparent with her foundation. You can actually make the accusation that Trump is financially worse. How about doing a side by side comparison of What Trump has done, bankruptcies included and see what Hillary.....has done, stole, lied about, palms greased to make her money. until now, Hillary has shown the American people how she can hide emails, servers will NOT make her speeches on any of her available to the public. Now as I have said in the past, Trump should make his taxes available and Hillary should make all of speeches involving her foundation available as well.

Look at the people he hires, an out of control anger management candidate, followed by a traitor to this country and also a criminal in Manafort, followed by a fired sexual rapist type in Roger Ailes, followed by a neo-nazi racist from Brietbart.

Look at who surrounds Hillary, the entire corrupt Washington establishment, that's 1000 times worse! And How is Manfort different from Nate Silver who has a very questionable analyst and who has the worst predictions in the business of politics and Ailes as wrong for what he did, but if Hillary is back in the office, guess who's coming with her?? Bubba, a former president of the US that used his power of the presidency to seduce a young intern, a supposedly happily married man and we want this guy back in the White House?! Also, where was Breitbart racist? Are people that speak on Black issues racists by default?

I think if his sons have a license and the laws in that country allow them to go shoot up elephants (to maybe control the population and it's all legal with licensing and rules and regulations) go for it. And when it comes to con-artists, Hillary wrote the book on that. I get it, you don't like Trump and there is a lot to not like, but compared to Hillary, Trump is literally a Saint and as smart and savvy as he is, Hillary is a master in her craft when it comes to cloaks and daggers, smoke and mirrors. One thing about Trump that people like is his authenticity and that he's not been a career politician, how many of the Washington idiots on either side and particularly this admin. have been honest and forthcoming, let alone, transparent? None of them, in fact, this admin has been the most corrupt and dishonest and people like Trump and even Sanders are finally taking a hammer to the system and smashing it and good on them. You say, the voters don't know much about Trump, but Trump pretty much is brutally honest and makes very little excuses or apologies for who he is and that is for many people refreshing, we know the left enjoy the Washington spin and lip service they have been pouring down our throats for the last 50 years and it's enough. Hillary is the last person we need to once again bring disgrace and corruption to the White House.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

to con-artists, Hillary wrote the book on that. What exactly is her con? She clean as a whistle. Besides, Trump is a con artist because invest in his business and kiss your money good-bye. If you wanted to nominate a businessman for president then why not nominate a real one like Bill Gates? Would you put your money in a Trump business? No? Then why vote for him?

Trump should make his taxes available It would be too embarrassing for him.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Many predictors computation of electoral votes. Hillary 289,, Trump 190.

No one mentioned landslide yet.

Trouble for Trump in west is his new campaign workers are not familiar to campaign focusing on Romney supporters. They are usually Republicans. But they don'.t like Trump even though Trump. married more than one time.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

If Hillary were clean as a whistler, none of her subpoena papers would be redacted and there wouldn't be a mention at all about her foundation which ironically, many Democrats wanting her to put and end to all of this and close this foundation.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

bass: "If Hillary were clean...Look at who surrounds Hillary...After what Hillary has been secretly doing...If Trump is in debt, that would fail in compassion to what Hillary is...Obama and Hillary ONLY care....but compared to Hillary"

What does your 30 years of experience in political writing say about Trump's plan to win the Hispanic vote? How do you see him achieving it?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

this and close this foundation. What's wrong with her foundation? Is it funding ISIS or something? maybe so since Trump says Obama founded ISIS.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Seems like everyone not insane has realised Trump's flood "efforts" were a photo-op. Even those in charge asked him to stay away but there you go...

Really ? Even the governor of Louisiana had nothing but praise today for Trump's efforts which he says has been a positive for the state and helped draw attention to recovery efforts.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

I think Trump.was.compassionate toward flood victims and Hillary was goofy on email but that does not change my guessing Hillary Will be Madam President.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Lizz,

Louisiana’s governor, John Bel Edwards, had warned Trump not to show up in Louisiana “for a photo op”. Instead, he said, Trump should volunteer and make donations. Edwards also defended the delayed visit by Obama, who has come under heavy criticism locally for not interrupting his vacation to come tour the disaster area.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/aug/19/donald-trump-louisiana-floods-supplies

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Lizz is right, the governor changed his stance and praised Trump for shining attention on the situation. But he also repeated that he had asked Obama to stay away.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Zuzcronium,

Trump has gone bankrupt six times. His voters have no idea about this. He was just fired from the hit show the Apprentice for being a racist. His voters do not know this either. He has bragged about cheating on his wife in his books, his voters do not know this.

The far more terrifying likelihood is that Trump supporters do know these things and simply do not care.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Instead, he said, Trump should volunteer and make donations.

Well he did make donations, the stuff was being unloaded from that truck by the church days before anyone arrived, no doubt products affiliated with the Trump brand but charity nonetheless...

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

What does your 30 years of experience in political writing say about Trump's plan to win the Hispanic vote? How do you see him achieving it?

That would depend. Trump does a lot better with Hispanic Americans overall than with Hispanic immigrants where he does poorly, but he shouldn't generally be concerned with the Hispanic vote at this point and time, I said that months ago, he needs to focus more over the fly over states and less on the predominately coastal states that vote Democrat anyway, focus on the Blue collar working that have been severely affected by Obama's policies, stay on message (which thankfully, he's been doing) and the rest is up to the voter who will have the final say anyway.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Looks like the King of the Flip-Flop may be willing to do it again: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/08/21/it-sure-sounds-like-donald-trump-is-considering-his-biggest-flip-flop-yet/

It sure sounds like Donald Trump is considering his biggest flip-flop yet

So once again we have Trump saying whatever he thinks will appeal to whomever he is speaking to at any given time.

The question is, will he number of bigots he alienates through his sudden lack of intention to deport all illegals be more or less than the number of immigrants he gains?

He seems to think it will be less. I wonder if he actually can fool enough people to get a net gain in supporters.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump and the RNC spokeswoman at the meeting said nothing had been promised that he hasn’t said many times before, including in his convention speech — enforce our immigration laws, uphold the Constitution and be fair and humane while putting American workers first. His immigration specifics are very specific. Ones not outright deported will self deport, the vast majority. Criminals will be deported, including those in prisons, let their home countries deal with and pay for them. E-Verify used to the max, any business hiring illegals fined severely, increasing border security etc.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

he shouldn't generally be concerned with the Hispanic vote at this point and time

Why is that?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Look, both sides will say whatever appease voters, the difference is, after 35 years of dealing with Hillary's habitual lies, the people are pretty aware, tired and weary of her rather to be expected and long list of lies. Nothing new with this woman. But I love how Democrats are trying to spin this.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

So you're saying that Trump shouldn't be concerned with the Hispanic vote?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

He should be concerned but the Hispanic vote is not the be all and end all of electoral politics. It can easily be swamped by shifts among other demographics, like whites and African Americans.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

"he has since vowed to deport all of the estimated 11 million people living in the country illegally."

Something wrong with that?

"What do black Americans have to lose?"

The number of blacks on food stamps since Obama took office has risen 58% to about 11,700,000. Cripes! We could have 4 more years of Obama ( Hillary, with more lies and less style )...

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

]So, what do the rightists do given that according to them, the Democratic Party have failed the black community completely and therefore, the GOP should have bucketloads of votes to pick up to win the presidency?

Politically in the dark. Most Blacks that I know when confronted with the facts on liberals and you take them and rationally explain to them how Deomcrats devastated the Black community, most of them are really shocked some will still vote Democrat many vote independently and that's better.

They elect a man who has been described as giving examples of 'textbook racism' by his own party.

Just as they have been mislead that Democrats are the saviors of Black people and that hasn't been the case and you can't tell me otherwise, I'm from California and I live next to one of the largest Black communities in that state and they vote Democrat by default and at the same time complain about the system and party they keep voting for every time.

Did I mention he was also endorsed by the KKK ( and uncomfortably blasé about it ) and has the leaders of European racist parties swooning like schoolgirls on Twitter.

Most of my Black friends are smart enough to know the difference of a group endorsing a candidate and the candidate endorsing the group, big difference.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Trump is only going to forcibly return select groups of illegals that don't self deport, primarily and starting with the criminal class (a lot of 'bad dudes') that are clogging our jails or immigration facilities. He has said himself that he doesn't like the term "mass deportation" and it is illegal, not to mention inhumane, to send back kids that are citizens in any case. Secure the border and then talk due process.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@Lizz:explain what immigration facilities. where they are.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'm talking about one reason for illegals to be in a detention center and that is those who have committed a crime that makes you deportable (removable) from the U.S.
