The last time America and Russia worked together Fascism was defeated....

Clearly, you do not understand the irony of your statement.

14 ( +21 / -7 )

“Only ‘stupid’ people, or fools, would think that it is bad”

Is Trump turning against his basket?

@bbush The last time America and Russia worked together Fascism was defeated, now it's time to defeat Islamic Fundamentalism

If I understand this correctly, you're saying a whale and my socks can be said to be similar because each can be gray. And are you suggesting that the US and Russia should team up and continue their respective histories of invading foreign lands?

Time for Trump to release his tax info. The world needs to see who all (Russian lenders and leaders? Chinese?) he owes hundreds of millions of dollars to.

I'm sure the posters who were appalled by the Clinton's putative conflicts of interest are equally appalled by the Don's. It would be nice if he'd release his tax info so the world can see which multinational corporations he's invested in.

7 ( +12 / -5 )

Trump is chanig his tune. After the briefing he talked mostly about the Democrats allowing hacking to happen, and now just vague statements about how being friends with others is good. Gone are the statements saying he doesn't believe the reports.

Trump supporters will go through a bit of a confusing period as they try to figure out what Trump''s new position is. Should they say Russia did nothing? They will need some time to figure it out.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Trump invited Russia to hack computers in the US and he calls that making America great again. Putin is playing Trump, who is either too stupid to know better or is putting business interests in Russia before the democracy of the USA. Making America great again? Pull the other one...

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Now you expect him to be angry with Russia?

Personally, I don't expect anything positive from Trump. The man is clearly unfit to be president.

BTW whatever happened to Trump's promise of putting America first? Was he being sarcastic? Was he joking? Was he using a 'euphenism'?

What's with this idea of a dynamic duo, saving the world with Vlad?

4 ( +12 / -8 )

last august Trump was celebrating the rumours that the Russians were hacking and even encouraged it.... now he says it never existed despite all the evidence to the contrary.... Trump and Putin will get along well together... they are both thin skinned, thick headed self centred bully boys who only see the world through a prism that reflects their own immediate need for self gratification....

7 ( +11 / -4 )

@bbush He's indebted to them, if they did it, because they merely followed through on his request.

If I understand this, you're saying Trump tells Putin and his people what to do. I know Russia is weak, but this suggests a new low. Now that Russia is a "moderated democracy" do you think it's time for the Russian people to elect a stronger leader, someone who won't get pushed around by a reality TV star?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

I can't understand you guys all. One day you are terrified that Trump will push the button and start a nuclear war, the next day you are upset that Trump wants better relations with Russia. Cognitive dissonance?

2 ( +11 / -9 )

@commenteer One day you are terrified that Trump will push the button and start a nuclear war,

Maybe because one day Trump said he's not afraid to ramp up the nuke race?

the next day you are upset that Trump wants better relations with Russia

For me that's because of a concern that 'better relations' might include further military involvement and invasions of sovereign nations.

But then I don't think you really want to understand; if you did you wouldn't oversimplify complex issues.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

I hope Obama doesn't get us into a war withe Russia in the next 2 weeks.

Absurd to say Putin impacted the election:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiAx1Op26Rc

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

“Having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing,” Trump said in a series of tweets.

Sure. I like friendly relationships with other countries. Just not the ones who hack into our emails and ship them to Wikileaks.

But that's just me....heh.

Looks like the Russian posters will fill the silence for Trump fans for a little while.

5 ( +11 / -6 )

A US and Russia alliance is good for ratings...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I can't understand you guys all. One day you are terrified that Trump will push the button and start a nuclear war, the next day you are upset that Trump wants better relations with Russia. Cognitive dissonance?

That's a false equivalency, as one is not the other end of the scale from the other.

For example, Obama has only brought down the possibility of nuclear war over the past eight years, witout being buddy-buddy with Russia.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

The crazy thing is, can you imagine if Obama had said publicly that the Russians should hack Trump's emails, and then they actually did it, just how much the Republicans would be freaking out, talking about stringing him up, calling him a traitor, and putting forth years and years of committees to investigate it to no end? Yet when it's the other way around 'oh, it's all good'.

Hypocrisy at its best.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

“Having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing,” Trump said in a series of tweets.

Well, ideally yes, same with China, NK and all countries I would say: a world where we all get along would be great wouldn't it!? Depends on what it entails though. A good relationship with a bad, aggressive, bullish, human-rights abusing Russia is not and should never be a good thing for any country with morals and ethics even if it means an easier ride for your own country. Only opportunists and morally weak people have absolutely no issue whatsoever with the way Putin is running the show.

Imo very, very optimistic to say the least ( i.e simplistic and plain stupid) from DT to even try to describe US relationships with a country like Russia in 140 characters! DT has to realise twitter is probably not the best tool to describe complex international relationships.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

Maybe Trump really is the Manchurian Candidate.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Only 'really super stupid' people, hyper-fools make friends with state-mafias that invade other countries, such as Ukraine

5 ( +9 / -4 )

I totally agree with him. After he mends that, let's improve our ties with Israel, and China, and work on building walls around Muslim States that are fanatical.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

@burnb He was programmed by his first wife Ivana, who was actually a Soviet agent from Communist Czechoslovakia, by means of hypnosis and mind-altering drugs placed in his morning cereal. That explains his seemingly inexplicable, ingrained and impulsive urge to protect Russia's interests at every turn.

Thanks for the inside info, but aren't you putting yourself and your fellow comrades at risk by posting this?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Trump and his supporters might want to try to improve ties with other Americans first, then maybe Putin second. But obviously you can't require them to.

Putin needs America more than America needs Putin but Trump looks to be putting Russia on equal footing without asking them for much of anything in return. Not so much with other countries so Russia appears to be the exception for reasons unknown. He's exchanging a war of words with Mexico while praising Putin after seeing evidence of hacking. It makes you think we don't have all of the information.

Trump supporters are on board because liberals broke them over the last 8 years so we are left asking questions with a large chunk of Americans trying to stop us.

Some leaders see democracy as a frustration. Putin saw what democracy did to Russia and decided it was not for his country. It was decided that it would be run better with power concentrated into a single person with an unlimited political term. If Trump is cut from the same cloth then he will always seek a relationship with Putin.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Maybe because one day Trump said he's not afraid to ramp up the nuke race? No quotes you can find saying that. Just an unverified 3rd party report. And sometimes tough talk is a pre-negotiation tactic that leads to peace.

Obama has only brought down the possibility of nuclear war over the past eight years, witout being buddy-buddy with Russia.

Not according to the doomsday clock scientists. It's closer to midnight now than it has been since 1984 when "U.S.-Soviet relations reach their iciest point in decades." And that was before all of the recent anti-Russian rhetoric that prompted Putin to warn of a nuclear exchange. In fact, I don't know where your claim comes from. By any measure, Obama has increased tensions with Russia.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

` Really? 'Stupid people' or 'fools'? Is there a distinction there? This guy is a cretin of the highest order who clearly is an example of both a stupid person and a fool all in one package. Twitter is the perfect medium for a person who thinks in bite size portions of 140 characters or less, and the whole WORLD knows it...And none more so than Valdimir Putin-who unfornately is not a 'stupid person' or a 'fool' but a 'cunning' and 'sly person'... But this is just quibbling and doesn't address the issues of the 'WORLD'... which are likely to increase exponentially under a Trump persidency...

So take that Stupid people and Fools of the WORLD!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

The US has overthrown more governments and meddled in more elections than any other nation in the history of this planet.

If Hillary had been elected, you would not have heard a peep about this story.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

'The US has overthrown more governments and meddled in more elections that any other nation...'

Quite possibly.

'If Hillary had been elected, you would not have heard a peep about this story.'

Strange...because if Hillary had been elected then the Russian hackings would have not acheived their intended goal, ergo, there would have been considerably less of a need to report the story...

Vladimir Putin is ecstatic...because now he has a rube in the White House that he can play like a fiddle. 'Good Donald, Nice Donald...Ok...Now...Ukraine. Latvia, Estonai, Lithuania...please...Aw...come on, what's Poland between friends?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Nah, Putin shouldn't be blamed for everything. Trump should be blamed for attempting to masquerade as a politican, the republicans should be blamed for allowing Trump on their debate stage, Clinton shoud be blamed for running as a deeply flawed candidate and the list goes on and on-but a litany of wrongs doesn't make Putin the best thing since sliced bread. Its very dangerous to have a partisan view of nunced stuations that solely blames one element of the equation, but it is equally naive to completely absolve of an important contributer to the problem as being completely blameless...but hey partisan mentallities like simple equations.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@DJT

only ‘stupid’ people or fools” would dismiss closer ties with Russia

It's a nice idea in theory, but only an idiot (or a self-serving narcissist) would bend over and accept those ties entirely on Putin's terms, as you appear to be gearing up to do.

@commanteer

the next day you are upset that Trump wants better relations with Russia

That isn't the problem. The problem is only achieving better relations by serving up Putin everything he wants on a plate and giving him a free pass for his meddling and military adventurism. That isn't 'better relations', that's bending over for a complete scumbag while displaying a copmplete lack of moral spine.

By any measure, Obama has increased tensions with Russia

Odd perspective; I would say that Putin has increased tensions with America, very much despite Obama's initial efforts to reach out to him. Obama found that he couldn't reset relations without giving Putin all he wants; Trump appears ready to give Putin all he wants. That is a steep price to pay to be able to say "oh look I've made us friends again". Trump's a baby seal next to a shark like Vlad.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

It's not that simple Trump. Its the conditions of that "friendship". If a child throws a tantrum and steals a toy from their sibling, do you give them a lolly and say, "It's ok!"???

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Either that, or stay in your media-created Disneyland reality and just blame Putin for everything.

It's a rainbow world they live. Even if it was true, Obama has waged an economic war and a propoganda war against Russia for years. The establishment and there MSM lackeys have been going after Putin as well, remember how 4 or 5 news magazines all published at the same time anti-Putin propoganda on their covers with pics of Putin and mushroom clouds? It really boggles the mind how people can be so easily fooled.

The Obama Administration Has Brokered More Weapons Sales Than Any Other Administration Since World War II

https://www.thenation.com/article/the-obama-administration-has-sold-more-weapons-than-any-other-administration-since-world-war-ii/

And this guy still has his Peace Prize? Give it back!

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

FizzBit

Well considering that Nobel was the guy who invented dynamite a peace prize from his institute is what it is...and I have no doubt that the Obama administration has been responsible for anti-Russian propaganda, and sold more weapons...but the selling of weapons is likelly to increase under a Trump admin-not decrease...

And who in their right mind applauds a tweeting fool who cant distingush the fact that 'Stupid people' are a viable alternative to 'fools'. Nah, two wrongs don't mean the wrong'est' of the two is right be default. That is living in a rainbow world....Obama is terrible ergo Trump (despite all evidence to the contrary) must be right.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Obama has waged an economic war and a propoganda war against Russia for years

...but 'Grandmaster Putin' is above such tactics?

remember how 4 or 5 news magazines all published...It really boggles the mind how people can be so easily fooled

Haha. Two words: Russia Today.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Russia is just a pawn in the Dem's rage-filled post-loss end game.

Apparently the DNC would not let the FBI look at the their servers.

So a lot of this 'Russia hacker trails found!' stuff is coming from a Google-funded company.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/01/06/dnc-russian-hacking-conclusion-comes-google-linked-firm/

DNC ‘Russian Hacking’ Conclusion Comes from Google-Linked Firm - 6 Jan 2017

CrowdStrike, the third-party company relied upon by the FBI to make its assessment about alleged Russian hacking into the Democratic National Committee (DNC), was financed to the tune of $100 million from a funding drive last year led by Google Capital. ...

Google Capital, which now goes by the name of CapitalG, is an arm of Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company. Eric Schmidt, the chairman of Alphabet, has been a staunch and active supporter of Hillary Clinton and is a longtime donor to the Democratic Party. ... On Thursday, a senior law enforcement official told CNN that the DNC “rebuffed” the agency’s request to physically examine its computer servers after the alleged hacking. Instead, the FBI relied on CrowdStrike’s assessment that the servers had most likely been hacked by Russian agents. ...“The FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials the necessity of obtaining direct access to servers and data, only to be rebuffed until well after the initial compromise had been mitigated,” CNN quoted the senior law enforcement official as saying. “This left the FBI no choice but to rely upon a third party for information. These actions caused significant delays and inhibited the FBI from addressing the intrusion earlier.”

Propaganda 101: 5 Steps for dictators and tyrants everywhere

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday that “only ‘stupid’ people or fools”

(1.) Frame your actions in terms of personal quality, not choices of action. If what you disagree with is an action, you have to convince people to do it. If what you disagree with can be framed as making the person who does it inferior as a human being, the gullible will take that action without thinking.

would dismiss closer ties with Russia,

(2a.) Gaslight your critics: When they're angry because they have been wronged, pretend like they're the aggressors trying to wrong others. Anyone who disagrees with you can't be portrayed as reasonable, you have to make them out to be the worst possible people who will settle for nothing less than the destruction of everything that is good.

“We have enough problems without yet another one,”

(2b.) Gaslight your critics: Pretend whatever they're angry about is unimportant. You bragged about sexually-assaulting women? It's just locker-room talk. You profited from a foreign power subverting your sovereign nation's democratic process? It's not important, let's not talk about it until we solve all the other problems.

but he declined to say whether he accepted their assertion that Russia had intruded in the election on his behalf.

(3.) Never admit to a mistake. Never admit to being wrong.

Instead, he said, “there was absolutely no effect on the outcome of the election”

(4.) Never admit that any wrong-doing you were attached to amounted to anything.

and that there “was no tampering whatsoever with voting machines.” ... Intelligence officials have never made that claim.

(5.) BEAT THAT STRAWMAN. REPEAT THAT STRAWMAN.

I guess that makes it OK. Considering a lot of those weapons were sold to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, those beacons of humanity, your point fails. I'm wondering, have you even been paying attention to Yemen?

Whoosh!

The point you missed there:

The establishment and there MSM lackeys

Putin is the establishment in Russia, and RT are his MSM lackeys.

Taking all the CNNMSNBCFOX

@burnb emails

For the three R's (Russians and Reactionary Rightists) the word email has become your Niagara Falls: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYP1OBZfFK0

4 ( +4 / -0 )

@Burning Bush

'Why does the MSM never mention the emails themselves?' uunh maybe because they were classified and weren't supposed to be public in the first place and they don't want to do the Russians job for them?

There is such a thing a classified information-too bad Hillary didn't pay more attentinon to that fact, but nonetheless, that makes it even more of a moot point.

And if the whole rationale here is to defend a man who thinks 'stupid people or fools' is an exemplar of all the 'wonderful words' at his disposal then there is absolutely no point. It was simliar during the Bush years with a similarly lexically challenged leader, when people eloquently rushed to his defense-because he couldnt do it himself. And it boggles the mind how a man who can't speak ihis own language has defenders to speak on his behalf (again).

I don't know why Turbostat's last post got voted down - it's interesting information if true. I'd rather see someone point out what's wrong with what he posted. I would suspect something is wrong with it, as it comes from Breitbart, but even they sometimes will be right.

So can anyone actually pick apart the content of his post, rather than just downvoting him?

Why does the MSM never mention the actual content of the emails?

Because the content is irrelevant to the point that a different country may have tried to influence another country's election. That should be offensive to everyone, not just one party.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

@stranger,

I downvoted turbostat's post on the grounds of this absurd statement:

"Russia is just a pawn in the Dem's rage-filled post-loss end game."

Russia "just a pawn"? Right. Poor little Russia getting used by the "rage-filled Dem's"!

As for the Breitbart link; it insinuates that the FBI's conclusion (doesn't mention the CIA) is invalid because they apparently got it entirely from a Google-funded company, which supports Hillary Clinton. I would like to know how Breitbart knows this, given that the methods used by the intelligence agencies are not known to anyone other than the intelligence agencies, Obama, and Trump (and note that Trump is no longer claiming they are incorrect since having the methods explained to him). The CIA and FBI say they used their own in-house expertise (not simply relied on Crowdstrike as claimed by the ever-disingenuous Breitbart). I know from your posting history and our past conversations that you take things very much from an evidence-based perspective (and rightly so), so surely you see the gaping hole there in Turbostat's (via Breitbart) position?

It just amazes me how liberals are getting so worked up and bent out of shape with Russia and Putin and a few months prior to that when Conservatives were bouncing on Obama pushing him to get tough on Moscow, especially after he annexed Crimea and the Dems basically told the GOP to not push the issue and there is no way we want a confrontation, nor can we afford to have one at the current military standard that we are in and now, with Trump at the helm of becoming president, we HAVE to see what Russia is up to and what they possible did to our election and to what possible extent. The Dems and libs are going complete apoplectic about this so called possible hacking issue. Liberal hypocrisy at its finest.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Indeed a Russia on 'our side' is all important. Not a Russia at any price but one we can work with. For many presidencies we've been reacting to Russia. Proactive handshakes would work far better to bring peace than some retro containment policy. We'd be facing war if the Donald had lost. Time to give this a try...and arm ourselves to the hilt, just in case. You know, speak softly, carry a big stick.

You're making it sound like the Democrats were cheering on Russia's annexation of Crimea. They were quit clearly opposed to it; check the pro-Russian comments on this here board for whining about Obama's "economic war on Russia". The problem isn't that the Democrats are hypocrits, flipping between being soft and hard on Russia; it's that they want to be firm on Russia, and they see that Trump is going to be anything but. Do you not see that? Drop your anti-Democrat monomania for a second, if indeed you possibly can do such a thing, and just honestly look at what stance you think Trump is going to take towards Putin and ask if that's really "making America great again".

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I don't give a hoot about what Russia did, because the world seems a better place since Trump's election, what with the US stock market jumping on the news of Trump's election victory, despite the doomsday predictions to the contrary.

But the thing that strikes me is, even if the Russians were rooting for Trump, they wouldn't have had so much material to dish up on Hillary if she weren't such a terrible flawed candidate like Trump was. It's not like his opponents weren't dishing up material about "grab em by the pussy" Trump.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

It just amazes me how liberals are getting so worked up and bent out of shape with Russia and Putin

Seeing as you were getting hysteric about Obama working with Cuba a few months ago, you shouldn't be so amazed.

Let's assume you're right. Trump asked Russia to hack the emails and Russia followed through and that altered the outcome of the election in Trump's favor, who is now openly pro-Russia.

Seems you've got me mixed up with someone else - I've never claimed Russia hacked the emails.

What are you going to do about it? Thumbs down on a keyboard and feel proud of yourself.

I'll point out the hypocrisy as I've been doing. I don't thumbs down anyone though - I can say what I want with words.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

It's very convenient for people to talk and remember the "Russian hacking" - do you really believe the "intelligent" services didn't know about? - than to talk and wonder about the NSA - who did the same and worst, and not only to the Americans....

And why you are so many rush to judge? Tramp is a modern businessman :) Maybe he has in mind an alliance with Russians against Chinese. You never know. Let him become a president first. Give him some time...

"Both US and Russia are unable to cope with the global jihad separately, especially when they are supporting different sides. Russia has few resources for a war against radical Islam made more difficult by western sanctions and pressure. The West, in spite of its material power, lacks the will needed to defeat such a savage and ruthless enemy.

Thus an alliance is imperative."

0 ( +4 / -4 )

We broke conservatives to the point where they will run to our enemies for support. The sad news is that I really don't see any way we can help them. Over time Americans, especially the younger generation, will turn to Democrats to get tough on Russia.

Trump still seems to want to get tough on China and North Korea, so it's not all bad news, but for Russia there appears to be an exception. Why is he handing out free passes just for one specific enemy? Thats the question, but Trump supporters will do everything they can to block us from finding out.

Democrats should take some responsibility for this. We underestimated how much pain they were in. We castrated them and now they are selling their souls to anyone with power to save them from the mental anguish we put them through. Enter Putin.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Democrats should take some responsibility for this.

They brought it on themselves first by starting the war with Iraq, then by spending eight years being an obstruction, rather than an opposition.

The likelihood of either side taking responsibility is pretty limited. But it's time to figure out how to work together. Giving Trump a chance is the start of that, even if you (like me) are extremely skeptical about the job he is about to begin.

You're making it sound like the Democrats were cheering on Russia's annexation of Crimea.

Well, they didn't even try to do anything about it, better yet, Putin felt that he had absolutely nothing to fear in taking it while Obama is the WH.

Hmmm. As I recall, the GOP felt the same about Cuba and Iran and Obama decided to use the softer approach of course, we didn't get anything out of it. Obama got played by the Iranians and as far as Cuba goes, people are still being imprisoned, No freedom, but at least I can now officially enjoy fun in the sun in Cuba. So what's wrong with Trump trying the same thing? If Obama did it, the Dems would support him No matter what.

Do you not see that? Drop your anti-Democrat monomania for a second, if indeed you possibly can do such a thing, and just honestly look at what stance you think Trump is going to take towards Putin and ask if that's really "making America great again".

For me, it's all about the lefts hypocrisy. As far as making America great again, since the election the Dow is 14 points away of hitting 20,000, so I would say, he's off to a Darm good start.

I doubt there's anyone under the illusion that America is a democracy after the loser of the presidential election got almost three million more votes than the... "winner."

Doesn't matter. The illusion that the left can somehow undo what was done is nothing but an illusion and a very bad one. One state can't call the election for the entire country, not our system and besides, we are a "Republic."

Trump's tweets on China:

China has been taking out massive amounts of money & wealth from the U.S. in totally one-sided trade, but won't help with North Korea. Did China ask us if it was OK to devalue their currency (making it hard for our companies to compete), heavily tax our products going into their country (the U.S. doesn't tax them) or to build a massive military complex in the middle of the South China Sea? I don't think so! China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters - rips it out of water and takes it to China in unprecedented act.

Trump's tweets on Russia/Putin:

Having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. Only "stupid" people, or fools, would think that it is bad! We have enough problems around the world without yet another one. When I am President, Russia will respect us far more than they do now and both countries will, perhaps, work together to solve some of the many great and pressing problems and issues of the WORLD! Great move on delay (by V. Putin) - I always knew he was very smart! Vladimir Putin said today about Hillary and Dems: "In my opinion, it is humiliating. One must be able to lose with dignity." So true!

And from the article:

[Trump] declined to say whether he accepted their assertion that Russia had intruded in the election on his behalf.

There's an obvious difference there which, at this point, cannot be explained. Any theories?

Yoshitsune: ... As for the Breitbart link; it insinuates that the FBI's conclusion (doesn't mention the CIA) is invalid because they apparently got it entirely from a Google-funded company, which supports Hillary Clinton. I would like to know how Breitbart knows this, ...

They got it from CNN!

From the post you're complaining about:

(Breitbart) On Thursday, a senior law enforcement official told CNN that the DNC “rebuffed” the agency’s request ... “The FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials ...,” CNN quoted the senior law enforcement official as saying. ...

The Breitbart article provides the link to the CNN article:

I support better ties with Russia, but if you can't understand that they are strongly working against our interests in some areas, then you are indeed a fool.

That's the disconnect. Everyone supports positive, productive ties with other countries. Its a nice, general statement.

But when someone says, "The Russians hacked us" and the response is, "we'd be stupid to not develop friendly ties with Russia" then we've got issues. Trump is supposed to protect is from foreign threats, not roll over and talk about how smart their leader is. He isn't saying that about any of enemy of the US, just Russia, and they are the ones who attacked us.

Again....any theories?

@SuperLib"... just Russia, and they are the ones who attacked us"

Not only Russia but Extra Terrestrials, the Little Green Men !

One thing's for sure, Putin, a former KGB agent, knows the answer.

Yeah, he likely owns Trump. Not that we'll ever know since Trump has an aversion to releasing his tax returns.

North Korea calls itself a republic too. So did East Germany. The fact that they also had "democratic" in their titles is just as farcical as calling the USA a democracy.

Yes and if you say anything bad about the Kim family, you're gone, people can't eat, aren't allowed to go anywhere, no human rights, equal rights or freedoms whatsoever. And?

So did East Germany.

Seriously, you want to compare former East Germany to our Republic? Dear lord....

The fact that they also had "democratic" in their titles is just as farcical as calling the USA a democracy.

True and now that we got that out of the way, we have an Electoral College system, served us well from the beginning until now and the country is still standing. California shouldn't be allowed to dictate by itself who becomes president, again, not our system.

bass,

Well, they didn't even try to do anything about it

Other than apply sanctions which caused the rouble to lose half of its value practically overnight. Obama's "economic war" according to some posters, though of course it was a response and not an aggression.

yet, Putin felt that he had absolutely nothing to fear in taking it while Obama is the WH

And clearly he is going to have even less to fear with Trump in the White House; he can probably look forward to a few green lights.

Obama got played by the Iranians and as far as Cuba goes... what's wrong with Trump trying the same thing?

For starters, he isn't trying the same thing. Obama never invited Iran to hack the US or suggested he would green light Iran in annexing part of Iraq. But to your actual point, your logic is that you're trying to say that the Dems are hypocrites for being soft on one, hard on the other; yet the Republicans (well, the Trump wing anyway) by the same logic are also hypocrits for being soft on one, hard on the other. A baffling position.

As far as making America great again, since the election the Dow is 14 points away of hitting 20,000, so I would say, he's off to a Darm good start.

A strong stock market is more important to you than not selling your allies down the river and handing Europe and the ME to Russia on a silver platter? That's "great"?

@stat,

Good grief man, do you actually think that the contents of the classified intelligence briefing received by Obama and Trump was based on information publicly available on CNN? Obviously not; it's a tiny facet of the story you're fixating on, and your claim based on that alone that Russia is a pawn being played by the US Democrat party is ridiculous.

Putin got the best Christmas present he could have wished for; a useful idiot in the White House. And there's an army of them online too.

Trump: Only 'stupid' people

Well, he would know.

Why blame Russia for Clinton's defeat when only Americans voted in the election?

This is akin to sayin that the American voters are such simpletons that their pea-sized brains can't handle a simple democratic process!

This people should remember that Hillary defeated Donald in the popular votes therefore Trump's victory was handed to him by the seemingly outdated electoral college system.

The sour losers should instead blame their constitution for such an anomaly instead of blamin Vladimir!

What is happening on the minds of these people is a bad sign for the future of America.

People are laughing at you like ROFL!

Due to Trump's remarks, all the US president since Harry Truman until Barack Obama and all of their natioal security advises were FOOLS! And Ronald Regan was the worst, Richard Nixon was a bit wiser.....

Wonderful Donald! You got the history right!
