Typical of these cowards.

These clowns are setting themselves up to repeat the stupidity of the democrats. "You have to read it to know what is in it".... yeah right.

I thought Trump promised to drain the swamp. The includes these establishment party apparachiks.

Ok, so what should The Republicans to do? Should they just do nothing and not before and the tax code since about 1984 and just let things the way they are and stay for more growth and not allow that much-needed tax money to fall back to the job creators to help create businesses? If they don't do it, then that's a serious promise they have broken to their voters and constituents.

that much-needed tax money to fall back to the job creators to help create businesses?

Would that be trickle down?

If a right-wing politician promises that lowering taxes will increase revenue and create jobs, just show him this:

http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/16/opinions/kansas-warns-washington-opinion-grissom/index.html

We are reaching the point where it's impossible to think that with all of the data we have they actually believe they will get more jobs and revenue with tax cuts for the rich. It's most likely a play to create a budget crisis, and from there they can start cutting services (with a highlight on illegal immigrants).

Obama had 8 years and NONE of his restorative justice and socialist agenda oriented financial policies did absolutely nothing to build up the middle class or increase business in the private sector.

Ok, so what should The Republicans to do?

Come up with a half decent bill that does at least some of the things  they claim. The guy in the leader's seat claimed he already had it a year ago.

Follow a democratic process of passing it into legislation rather than ramming it through. The guy in the leader's seat claims he is a great negotiator, or is that also in the past?

Simple enough process, isn't it? How would you rather have your elected leaders make a difference?

How would you know? You don't read about economics.

In other words, don't do what Obama did, consult Congress, gotcha!

Simple enough process, isn't it? How would you rather have your elected leaders make a difference?

If the Democrats get on board and put their party ideology aside, sit at the table and come to a middle point that would be great, the sad thing is Democrats are too focused with trying to get Trump out of office and as long as they hold on to that hate, it won't happen.

How would you know? You don't read about economics.

Had no idea you are standing over my shoulders. Lol!

The republicans control the executive and legislative branches of congress, which means they do not need the democrats to do anything. This means that any lack of progress is only the fault of the republicans.

Why is it so difficult for some posters to understand this? They can whine all they want about democratic obstructionism, but the republicans don't need the democrats. We've seen this with SCOTUS and the AHCA.

what Obama did

Not the leader anymore, why are you obsessed to bring up his name?

If the Democrats get on board

Not your elected leader - I see no mention of any responsibility of your elected leaders the Republicans.

Same as them, you seem to have no clue on how this works.

On anything that requires reconciliation, they don't.

This means that any lack of progress is only the fault of the republicans.

Unless it's a big legislative deal that requires Democrat votes.

Hey, Dems lost the last 4 most recent elections that were "supposedly" be referendums on Trump and they all lost...again and miserably, they still, STILL don't get it. They are so far off, being obstructionists, cursing and focusing solely on Trump instead of the country, good, it seems like their hopes of getting the House are fading very fast. If they want to remain the party of identity politics, hate and focus on race and not have solutions for anything, they will continue to be a fringe party. Good luck to them.

Not the leader anymore, why are you obsessed to bring up his name?

I'm not, he's not the president, I'm fine....No, I'm great!

Not your elected leader - I see no mention of any responsibility of your elected leaders the Republicans.

Oh, I have on more than a few occasions, I don't give them a pass either, don't worry.

Same as them, you seem to have no clue on how this works.

Lol! Do you see the Democrats in power anywhere? They can't even win any elections, I would therefore say, they are the ones that have Zero Clue,

Republicans can move forward in any way they see fit. This is why:

Where was the article on the elections the Dems lost that were supposed to prove that everyone hates Trump and his policies? And the article about the terrorist attack in the USA where CNN says the guy yelled something in Arabic? (did he yell, CNN is fake news? nope probably what that group always yells as they stabbing people). How about the House and Senate hearings about the nonsense Russia collusion that yielded nothing against Trump and his people but that in fact fingered the Dems as at least shady if not criminal?

So Trump is basically winning the battle against the fake media. His people won the elections. DNC was found to have been hiding their server from the FBI for unknown reasons. The tax bill doesnt require Dems to be involved, as they lost and continue to lose elections. Craft it in private, present it to the people and vote. Dont put it out there early and let every special interest group try to add or remove things.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Confirmed that neither the FBI nor DHS was given access to the DNC servers. Confirmed that some Dems finally noticed that Nancy Pelosi needs to be replaced. Lost all the special elections. Media is being hit harder than ever for fake news and inaccurate/false speculation. Black Caucus declined to meet with Trump to discuss issues.

Perfect time to get tax cuts and healthcare done before the Dems can refocus on obstruction. But that is also up in the air as some Dems are starting to understand that just an anti-Trump message doesnt work and never has.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Just because you don't get a smoking gun in an open hearing does not mean there is nothing to the underlying issue. For people that claim to just want the investigations to finish so this whole thing blows over, you sure spend a lot of time trying to convince others that there is nothing to be bothered with. Does it help you sleep at night?

In regards to Trump's victory meaning that most people don't hate Trump and support his policies, that is incorrect. Trump lost the popular vote, which is a better reflection of the desires of the people than the electoral college, by 2.8 million. No, I am not saying his victory was illegitimate. He won the electoral college. What I am saying is that the electoral college is not the bellwether for whether voters approve of a candidate or his/her policies; the popular vote is.

Yes, don't have an open debate about legislation because that's not how it works in the world's most vibrant democracy. Closed meetings to set legislation and then ram it down everyone's throat, just as democracies should work.

The republicans went ape$hit when the democrats pushed through Obamacare, even though there were multiple open hearings on the matter.

And yet here, just one president later, they are doing everything in a closed non-transparent matter, without open hearings.

And then they try to pretend they aren't hypocritical.

@Stranger:

Spot on. Republicans: Don't do as we do, do as we say.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

You'd think the Republican posters here would voice concerns that it's being done behind closed doors.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Anything you put in the public these days immediately gets a lawsuit attached to it within 24 hours. Every policy has to suit the needs of every single person and every single possible situation. It just can't work like that when no group or individual is willing to not get every single thing they want.

another example is the Travel ban? Nope my Somali grandmother who hasn't visited me in 15 years anyway can't come this summer. Unacceptable!

So let it get finished in private and then present it and make people vote on the bill as a whole without the ability to find one thing about one person to derail the whole thing.

An effective leader still gets things done (Obama). A failure doesn't (Trump).

You wanted an anti-politician. You got one. How's that bed you made feel?
