That's another voting bloc sewn up.

Thank goodness we fraudster, rapist, and serial adulterer, Donald Trump, to defend Christianity.

This is classic, textbook demagoguery that should put any thinking person on his or her guard.

Trump pledges to defend Christianity against the left, which he says wants 'to tear down crosses'

The threat is not from Trump's usual boogeyman "the left". By which he probably means AOC and Chuck Schumer.

The real left is with whatever imaginary symbol people want to bow down to, as long as they keep it at that and not infringe on other's rights.

Which is exactly what the real threat, Trump's Christian Nationalism backed by televangelist and mega-church indoctrinated minions wants to do.

Of all the dystopian possibilities we are facing in the near future, a Handmaid's Tale run by a reality TV star would be one of the worst.

just like every fascist regime has tried to co-opt them and control them.

You mean exactly like what you're doing here, Trump? Nice own goal there, pal.

I'm surprised he didn't claim he's more persecuted than Christ.

“The left is trying to shame Christians," Trump said.

Do we really need the preaching of “Christian” Donald Trump, an admitted “pussy grabber,” and his buddy Jerry Falwell Jr., who filmed his wife having sex with the pool boy? No, we definitely do not!

That is a notable and definitely most celebrated and encouraging move.

The man with 5 children by 3 wives who is an adjudicated rapist and who cheated on his 1st wife with his second, his second wife with his third, and his third wife with a porn star wants to tell us about defending Christianity?

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Did he mention how many abortions he’s paid for and covered up with NDAS?

Yes, none of us are perfect and if he fights to uphold religious freedoms for all, if he can help or find a way to safeguard religious institutions, that is a good thing.

-13 ( +5 / -18 )

Religion is here of course only the vehicle for the message and it's also too fuzzy or a too wide specter, but I guess I know what he really means but cannot say openly.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Did he mention how many abortions he’s paid for and covered up with NDAS?

More left gossip nonsense....

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

Come on America - check your water supplies! What are you drinking?

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Rapists are popular with the christofascists. They’re as amoral as Trump is. The insane abortion and anti-minority policies are migrating swinging voters away from a Republican Party at war with itself. They are literally incapable of doing anything except clogging the arteries of government.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

uphold religious freedoms

safeguard religious institutions

Nobody is threatening your religious freedom or your religious institutions. On the other hand, you are pushing your religious beliefs on to others by, for example, attempting to ban abortion.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

I don't blame Trump. Of COURSE he's gonna be Trump.

I blame certain Christians who continue to fall for his blatantly hypocritical, nonsensical, dangerous rhetoric.

Former President Donald Trump promised to use a second term in the White House to defend Christian values and even suggested he'd shield the faith's central iconography, warning a convention of religious broadcasters on Thursday night that the left wants “to tear down crosses.”

“Remember, every communist regime throughout history has tried to stamp out the churches, just like every fascist regime has tried to co-opt them and control them. And, in America, the radical left is trying to do both," Trump told hundreds of cheering attendees at the National Religious Broadcasters International Christian Media Convention in Nashville.

“They want to tear down crosses where they can, and cover them up with social justice flags,” Trump added. “But no one will be touching the cross of Christ under the Trump administration, I swear to you.”

Donald Trump, hands outstretched, an apostle of Christ, to save a US, at present threatened by the iniquitous forces of progressive hard left wing devilment, an accursed abominable coven of wokery, of evil spirits the political adversary of God.

And this is just a taster for what's to come.

God bless America...

Donald Trumps message..... Beware Beelzebub Biden.

goodness, before you defend Christianity, please settle firsthand your tax issues and sex scandal with Stormy

I’m a very proud Christian

Tee hee! Sure you are, Donald. Just like you are a proud believer in democracy and the rule of law. Still, those porky pies will be lost on the swooning, credulous idiots paying your bills and legal fees.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Nobody is threatening your religious freedom or your religious institutions.

You don't know me or what I have been through, so with all do respect you cannot make that kind of irresponsible comment.

On the other hand, you are pushing your religious beliefs on to others by, for example, attempting to ban abortion.

No, I'm not and I don't care, in the sense that, the States get to decide which way they want to go concerning abortion, and if you want to kill babies and live in a state that prohibits killing, move to a state or go to another that will allow you to do so, or better yet, use preventive measures and protections to ensure a unwanted pregnancy doesn't happen.

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

Abortion not banned, simply not regulated legally as the Federal level anymore. More abortions than ever these days. Some states now imposing some restrictions.

Many believe fetus after X weeks has certain rights and do not want their federal taxes paying for abortions. Finally, people at state level regulating or not regulating abortion according to will of their voters = Democracy.

-13 ( +3 / -16 )

You don't know me or what I have been through, so with all do respect you cannot make that kind of irresponsible comment.

Lol great and smart point. Everyone knows christians in the US are great threat of being persecuted. Hilarious.

No, I'm not and I don't care, in the sense that, the States get to decide which way they want to go concerning abortion

Nonsense. Trump and his christofascist supporters are pushing for a national ban at 16 weeks. You know, shoving their religion down our throats.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

No class of citizens should ever face discrimination, and the fact is more in the US feel that due to their religious beliefs they are indeed facing institutional discrimination stemming from the liberal wing of the democratic party.

-9 ( +4 / -13 )

Lol great and smart point. Everyone knows christians in the US are great threat of being persecuted. Hilarious.

Nothing hilarious about it.

Nonsense.

Not nonsense, what's wrong with using protection?

Trump and his christofascist supporters are pushing for a national ban at 16 weeks.

The States have already ruled and if the people want to take it up, let them have a vote on the issue.

You know, shoving their religion down our throats.

No, because you do as you please.

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

Nothing hilarious about it.

Your claims that christians in the US are at threat of persecution is unfounded and hilarious.

Not nonsense, what's wrong with using protection?

What's wrong with minding your own business and not shoving your religion down the throats of others?

The States have already ruled and if the people want to take it up, let them have a vote on the issue.

The "states" have done no such thing, and Trump and his christofascist supporters want to ban it nationally.

It is classic Donald Trump play, choreographed with Easter, a time that marks the Resurrection.

For many a season of fasting and penitence.

A Donald Trump arrested put on trial by a Biden administration threatened by his teachings.

A left, dragging him before Biden to be tried for blasphemy of a modern day governments moral depravity.

Get the picture.

Should have left Trump on the golf course.

They are the object of opprobrium from the Biden-fan-boy-club because they cling to their faith, go to church, work hard, pay their taxes, support the second amendment, want their children to have a traditional upbringing, don't riot on the streets or burn their flag.

They look like a bunch of fine people in the photo at the bottom.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

Your claims that christians in the US are at threat of persecution is unfounded and hilarious.

I wish they were.

What's wrong with minding your own business and not shoving your religion down the throats of others?

What's wrong with not killing a baby? Why not protection?

The "states" have done no such thing,

They have

and Trump and his christofascist supporters want to ban it nationally.

Well, I feel, abortion supporters want to kill as many babies as possible.

I've just finished reading a book titles "A Fever in the Heartland" about a man named D.C. Stephenson and the rise of the KKK in Indiana, and nationally, in the 1920s. The parallels between Stephenson and the Trump / MAGA movement are eerie. Not the ideology - I'm not calling Trump or his followers Klan. But the corruption, coercion and band-wagoning of members of the general public, polticians and officials. The emphasis on "Christian" values and traditional "American" ideals and morals and the danger of "others" not like them (wink, wink) and the damge they have done and will do the America. 100 years later and history does seem to be repeating itself.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Donald Trump believes in one thing: that anything that benefits him is good. It's amazing that so many cannot see through that. It's farcical that he is a proud Christian.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Voters know Trump and Biden are NOT choir boys.

Voters want result that help them, including religious voters. Most Catholics don't like Biden's promoting policies and judges that favor abortion much like they disapprove of Trump's former choices in personal life.

Voters know Trump money comes from dirty business world and Biden in Govt. As Biden's under impeachment inquiry now in Congress for his family's decades long influence peddling $schemes, and son Hunter, who's being charged with multiple tax felonies as result of this behavior. Religious voters know these men are sinners!

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

i wonder if Stormy Daniels know that Trump is a proud Christian

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Sorry, one more comment:

First he says this, "...every fascist regime has tried to co-opt them (crosses) and control them."

And then this, " “But no one will be touching the cross of Christ under the Trump administration, I swear to you.”

Which means, he is indeed attempting to co-opt and control them. Which is what he says facists do. He is calling himself a facist. I wonder if Mr. Dunning-Kruger is aware of this.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Well, well, well, it seems the US presidential election in November is now elevated to Armageddon, or the final battle between good and evil. Are some Americans so desperate in waiting for the Christian kingdom?
