And yet again, Donald Trump shows what kind of... individual he is.

Unfit for office.

21 ( +27 / -6 )

pathetic, just pathetic....

24 ( +26 / -2 )

What a joke of a president! Completely unfit for office.

28 ( +30 / -2 )

may have been a “set up”

That’s a possibility, as is it was a false flag operation, and any of numerous other perspectives in between.

Beliefs shape perceptions: if individuals like Trump and some in his base believe people opposing institutional racism are bad, and that those bad people use staged theater, they could see that event as being 'set up' to make the police look bad. Flimsy reasoning, but that's consistent with what's heard from the alt right.

Or any other way.

Trump continues to lower the bar of his office by once more fanning flames, continuing to deepen divides, this time pushing what probably is just one more of his conspiracy theories. Given how many fringe/kook media outlets follow and report Trump’s every word while pushing their own conspiracy theories, expect to see this latest one parroted by Trump’s faithful.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

“No one from law enforcement has even suggested anything otherwise, so we are at a loss to understand why the president of the United States would make such dark, dangerous, and untrue accusations about him," she said.

Simple. That's who he is and what he does - Dark, dangerous and a liar..

17 ( +19 / -2 )

Trump builds a wall around the Whitehouse, hides in the bunker and now feels under threat from 75 year old pensioners.  I think his problems lie deeper than phantom problems with is feet.  Like all bullies, he is at heart, a gutless coward.

18 ( +20 / -2 )

And yet again, another ""news" article that is pure opinion and name-calling. The media media shows what kind of... hacks they are.

-19 ( +4 / -23 )

ZaphodToday  07:52 am JST

And yet again, another ""news" article that is pure opinion and name-calling.

No, that's what Donald Trump's Twitter feed is. As is his tweet. Pure opinion, far-flung conspiracy speculation on a level that would make even Star Trek writers shake their heads, and a bunch of name calling.

But thanks for playing.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

President Trump is clearly in the wrong about this and the pushed man was leaking blood, out cold...

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Apparently even the mayor of Buffalo city has noted that this person is a known con-artist and has attempted to defraud the city before with some opportunistic lawsuit.

Watch the video in slow motion and you'll see the blood is fake, it flows way too quickly, way too steadily and way too soon from a simple fall like that.

This guy is looking for a million dollar lawsuit retirement.

I agree and as much as the police department needs serious reform and a much needed community outreach, this guy shouldn’t have been there in the first place as frail as he was and as volatile the situation was. I don’t think it was inappropriate for Trump to question someone with a dubious past as this gentleman.

-23 ( +1 / -24 )

I don’t think it was inappropriate for Trump to question someone with a dubious past as this gentleman.

Do say more, enlighten us with the facts you are somehow privy to. What dubious past?

Or are you just making stuff up/parroting what someone else said?

10 ( +11 / -1 )

There’s another video of this guy talking to some local protesters before this incident, many of them black, and they were pissed. One young black fella said “this guys about to get punched in the face”, after he told the locals that he was there “just for fun”. Another black woman reacted angrily “fun!?, this sh#t ain’t fun!”.

someone can bleed quickly from a scalp injury, but cannot bleed quickly from the ear with a head injury.

The only reason he was able to get that close to the cops was because he was a 75 year old. And it looks as if he was scanning something, and that’s what the cops reacted to. He should have been arrested, not shoved, but he put himself in that position.

His intent was not sincere.

invalid CSRF

-18 ( +3 / -21 )

I, like so many others, are harboring a tiny suspicion about the calculation behind Trump's recent clumsily mishandled (re)actions and tough-guy statements vis-a-vis the protests and police violence: is he afraid of losing the considerable right-wing constituency of the police, army and militarized security organizations, come November? YUP!

5 ( +6 / -1 )

His intent was not sincere.

Lolololol Rightists are now mind readers. Who cares if his intent wasn't "sincere?" That does give them any right to shove him.

Trump pushes conspiracy theory about Buffalo protester shoved by police

Complete and total loser.

Fizzbit, does it HURT to make this stuff up? Excusing the abuse of an elderly person, (and let us NOT FORGET Trump's mocking of a disabled reporter, Trump's bedding down a prostitute and getting away with it?) Excuses, excuses. The man was there returning a COP's helmet. How was this nice gesture returned? Abuse! Nazi-brownshirt style! And you are GOD, you know his intent, and even if his intent was "insincere" what difference does it make? Cops are NOT allowed to abuse and beat people. So, question: how FAR are you willing to excuse authoritarianism? Is Jung Un's gulags in which 200,000 people work and die in Nazi-level concentration camps, OK? Trump praised them, as a good way of managing people. Just asking for the rest of us anti-fascists.

This is a new low from the Bunker Coward. It is clear that the Cowards mindless and uneducated supporters will believe anything he makes up.

I hope the poor old man recovers fully, and sues the hell out of the scum who violently assaulted him.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Trump’s Twitter account is a toilet.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

BurakuminDesu:

It is clear that the Cowards mindless and uneducated supporters will believe anything he makes up.

So your definition of mindful and educated would be: uncritically believing what CNN and MSNBC are telling you? Something else?

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

In recent days I've seen a police officer murder an unarmed, defenceless man, seen a black-clad stormtrooper kick a clearly injured young girl in the face as she sat helpless on the floor, seen black clad stormtroopers flatten an elderly man, breaking his skull, seen black-clad stormtroopers thrash young girls with enormous sticks, seen peaceful protestors gassed and attacked with rubber bullets, seen black-clad stormtroopers without any identifying nameplates or insignia in the the country's capital city.

It reminded me of South Africa under apartheid.

17 ( +17 / -0 )

'Let's see...think I'll walk over to those cops standing there. Maybe I can agitate them into pushing me down to the concrete violently so I can crack my skull, maybe get bleeding on the brain or maybe even die. Yup, that's my plan. I can't wait for the ambulance to come. Maybe someone will delay it so I can be even closer to death. This plan is foolproof! Only maybe the president could figure this out.'

16 ( +16 / -0 )

it does if they have no idea what is in his right hand or why he is waving it around all over their bodies.

So what is that in his hand and why is he doing it, by the way? no one seems to care.

Who cares if his intent wasn't "sincere?" That does give them any right to shove him.

-17 ( +1 / -18 )

it does if they have no idea what is in his right hand or why he is waving it around all over their bodies.

No it doesn't. They couldn't have been too alarmed if they kept marching right towards them.

So what is that in his hand and why is he doing it, by the way? no one seems to care.

No one cares because it's irrelevant. They shouldn't have shoved him.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Its not irrelevant. It could have been a weapon, a nerve agent, a biotoxin, a stun device. no idea what it was nor why he was moving it up and down their bodies. You have no right to do that to someone, of course they will push you away until they can know what it is.

No one cares because it's irrelevant. They shouldn't have shoved him.

-20 ( +3 / -23 )

Forcefully push 99% of 75 year olds and what happens?

Yep, you guessed right...

14 ( +14 / -0 )

he went there to instigate, There is video of black Americans begging him not to do it. There are photos of him and the cameraman casually talking before the video was taken. People claim he was returning a helmet, there are photos showing he already had the helmet well before the event, its his.

Who knows what his intention was? But I doubt all 57 people on this team who quit the team are "racists". We will find out what happened, as this man has been arrested 4 times, twice at the White House and once at the US Capitol for similar things.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

@Blacklabel

Illogical and off-topic! If the police actually believed that the 75-year old man had a weapon then they would have attempted to detain and search him. They would not push him away and keep moving.

Please stay on topic!

13 ( +13 / -0 )

Statements like this and others have to indicate the dumpster is trying to throw the race. He is much more suited for something that doesn't hurt the country or the rest of the world.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

A sucker is born every minute.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

@therat

Then watch for your self how even the protesters are suspicious of this guy. No, not sincere. He’s here “just for fun”.

A nerve agent or a biotoxin? Hahahaha seriously?! Only cops are allowed to use chemical weapons, remember? If it were a chemical weapon, why the hell would you get closer!? This whole argument is insane, stop defending thug cops.

Who knows what his intention was?

Who cares? Protesting is illegal yet, though there's no doubt you'd love to see it banned.

But I doubt all 57 people on this team who quit the team are "racists"

Im just glad we don't have to pay these dirt bag cops unemployment. Bye, Felicias!

We will find out what happened, as this man has been arrested 4 times, twice at the White House and once at the US Capitol for similar things.

If you think that's a lot, I'm sure you'd be surprised about how many times some cops are investigated for excessive force.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

deflect deflect deflect.

No one has any interest in what was in his hand or what he was doing with it and why.

-18 ( +0 / -18 )

I don’t think it was inappropriate for Trump to question someone with a dubious past as this gentleman.

Without a doubt, it was inappropriate for Trump to tweet what he did. You're narrating this incident as 'merely' questioning a person vs. accusatory content with lies associating Antifa, something no one has confirmed, and a rumor floated about by right wing media.

Both sides of the aisle attack this tweet, because it simply is wrong and another idiotic move no other president would make. When a Republican from Alaska says, 'Oh lord, ugh', it pretty much sums up how many former supporters of Trump feel these days.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

The already weak replies from our Trump supporting friends are really hitting rock bottom here over the past several weeks. Rather than offer any kind of response, let alone have a link or source with it, they just flat our deny reality…

First we had the chorus of "never happened" when Trump clearly said on video; "And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?"

Then several weeks ago, we had one Trump supporter here claim; "32% was more than half"….

Then yesterday, another Trump supporter stated the Corona virus had "magically disappeared", when that same day the CDC said over 500 people in the US had died of the virus over the past 24 hours. When that was pointed out, he then changed that to "assumed it had disappeared"...

Now they try in vain to excuse one of the most ridiculous comments Trump has ever made - that a clear abuse of authority against a senior citizen caught on video "is not what you see"….

As we get closer to Nov, they’ll close their eyes, cling to their guns, Trump 2020 banners, and Confederate flags and just flat out deny reality…

Is that ever going to catch up with them on Nov 3rd…of course, they’ll claim that didn’t happen either…

11 ( +11 / -0 )

A 75 year old man who bled to quick and might have had nerve agents or as yet uninvented scanning & blocking tech in a cop helmet shaped device.

The insanity of Americans is just bewildering

16 ( +16 / -0 )

So your definition of mindful and educated would be: uncritically believing what CNN and MSNBC are telling you? Something else?

This is becoming part of the hymn sheet. I’ve often mentioned what Trump actually tweeted and read for myself and people start talking about CNN.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

The already weak replies from our Trump supporting friends are really hitting rock bottom here

We haven't seen rock bottom yet. I expect that pretty soon this elderly demonstrator will be called a "thug".

13 ( +13 / -0 )

It's hard to find words to describe this - it's clearly beyond shameful, but since Trump has no shame, that doesn't quite cover it...

It is just pure evil - that's the only way to describe it...

And for most Trump supporters here to agree with it or pathetically try to excuse it, makes no better argument for the Cult of Trump...

No matter how ridiculous, hateful, spiteful, or divisive, Trump is to be obeyed and supported...

And from looking at the history of Charles Manson's, Jim Jones' and Shoko Asahara's cults, we know how they end...

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Do not feel surprised by Donald Trump's tweeting remarks! This man has NO COMPASSION at al!

I agree with General Powell said: He(Trump) is a national disgrace!

Well for some businessman, disgrace is a concept not in their book!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

@Black

deflect deflect deflect.

No one has any interest in what was in his hand or what he was doing with it and why.

Projecting again I see!

If the police thought his hand was a threat, they would not have kept moving, nor would they have allowed him to keep it in his hand.

I am glad we have your "eagles on the case" to see what the rest of the world missed

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Give it a week, the story will change. There will be a full investigation into this I am sure.

Thats why the man has already locked down all his social media. (but too late, people already got screenshots)

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

@Zaphod

So your definition of mindful and educated would be: uncritically believing what CNN and MSNBC are telling you? Something else?

There are websites dedicated to keeping track of all of drump lies! The media has a better track record than the president.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

runner3Today 07:26 am JSTWhat a joke of a president! Completely unfit for office.

And why does anybody even listen to this juvenile after all that he has said and done? He has zero cred and can't be relied on to tell the truth. He's desperate and he keeps on making up fibs to feel good about himself.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

he once again sided with police officers over protesters

Police officers take a lot of abuse, and this has been happening since way before the Floyd murder.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Its not irrelevant. It could have been a weapon, a nerve agent, a biotoxin, a stun device. no idea what it was nor why he was moving it up and down their bodies. You have no right to do that to someone, of course they will push you away until they can know what it is.

Heck yea, this 75 year old could be a Cyborg with dangerous extraterrestrial bio-weapons that cause you to stare at 5G network towers and get COVID...

He could be an agent of Bill Gates who wants to put computer chips in all those officers...

He could be a shape-shifting T800, just like in Terminator 2...

Can never be too careful...

11 ( +12 / -1 )

yeah yeah. Now tell me what was in his hand and what he was doing with it. in reality, as shown on the video.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

I dont know why the focus on this guy.

Because the police are supposed to protect and serve, not assault old men.

This guy proves that the police are not "racist" nor do they exist just to brutalize only black Americans.

Yup, nothing to see here. Police aren't racist, they'll beat theyll but up old white people too!

10 ( +10 / -0 )

bass4funkToday  08:08 am JST

I don’t think it was inappropriate for Trump to...

Nothing he does is inappropriate as far as the likes of you are concerned.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

Yes, they certainly will. kinda ruins your narrative though, huh?

Yup, nothing to see here. Police aren't racist, they'll beat theyll but up old white people too!

There is no racial part of their decision making. Strange guy walks up doing strange stuff. Regardless of any identity politics (race, age, gender) they clear the person out until they know what they are dealing with.

Life or death decisions every day.

-17 ( +0 / -17 )

Yes, they certainly will. kinda ruins your narrative though, huh?

No one cares, caught on tape neither proves or disproves anything. Ever. If you think it does, I encourage you to take a course in statistics or google the scientific method.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

No it doesn't*

6 ( +6 / -0 )

There's a good reason why over 50 decorated police officers resigned their positions over this issue.

ROFL, was every member of that unit decorated????

Are the Navy Seals on riot duty now, I bet all their members are not decorated either.

Must be a false news day in Moscow!!!!

10 ( +10 / -0 )

I just checked and I don't see ANTIFA as an official terror group on the Trump WH website. They must be fake and/or Trump failed at declaring them a terror group. But soon Trump will need to worship ANTIFA because he will need their votes. That is why Trump is worshiping BLM. It's so funny since Trump called BLM a terror group before. Trump is desperate.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

And now we're learning more - and it makes this ridiculous claim by the President even more sinister...

This conspiracy theory originated from a story by OANN reporter Kristian Rouz - a Russian native. Rouz, who previously worked for the Russian state media organization Sputnik, has a record of pushing baseless conspiracy theories on OANN. Last month, Rouz claimed that the coronavirus was a plot for "population control" by George Soros, Bill Gates, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Bill and Hillary Clinton and China.

https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/social-media/president-trump-tweets-antifa-conspiracy-theory-originated-anonymous-blog-n1228356

So once again, we have the President tweeting out Russian propaganda...

Then we have the RNC spokesperson making it worse...

Shortly after the president's tweet, Republican National Committee spokesperson Elizabeth Harrington posted an even more elaborate conspiracy theory about Gugino's fall on her Twitter account, linking to a baseless article claiming that Gugino was using prop blood attached to an elaborate device. She later deleted the tweet.

This is a new level of evil from Trump and his sycophant cronies...and will get worse as we get closer to the election...

Cast the evil out in Nov...

6 ( +6 / -0 )

To the people commenting about the guy's past and motivations. I am not sure how it is relevant. If the guy gets in the way of the police illegally, just cuff and book him, why the need to break his skull ?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Clear and frankly trite response of blame the victim. But your honor the rape victim was

wearing a dress and we all know what that means. The police could have restrained the

75 year old dude easily but they choose to just shove him and then walk past him like

he was invisible along with the blood coming from his head.

Right wing folks have always had to dig deep into their cesspool of lies to defend those

protesting for justice, case in point Colin Kaspernick. Of course now his actions and his words,

despite being pillared by the right wing echo chamber endlessly, have after the Floyd murder being

100% vindicated. It is the same playbook over and over again with Trump being the leader

and chief of fake news amidst a hailstorm of lies and distractions. This will never change. Truth and justice is totally lost on the rightwing Trump supporters.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Yes, they certainly will. kinda ruins your narrative though, huh?

No: I'm opposed to the police brutalising anyone.

Abolish the police.
