Radical right-wing terrorists strike again. Life under the Trump administration.

25 ( +29 / -4 )

The guy who literally just got finished congratulating a guy who was arrested for physically attacking a reporter now wants the media to end its hostility? After the media itself was again attacked by someone who was doing exactly what Trump has been encouraging his followers to do almost every day since he was elected?

Actually these are nice words by Trump. The kind of words he should have been using all along. If he is really embracing the idea that inciting violence is bad, then I guess that is a step in the right direction at least. If he just goes back to telling everyone its OK to beat up reporters at his next rally like usual, then this is meaningless.

26 ( +29 / -3 )

It's always his enemy's fault, never his.

22 ( +26 / -4 )

By the way, do you see how nice I'm behaving tonight?" he said. "Have you ever seen this?"

Says the man who less than a week ago gave lavish praise to Greg Gianforte who assaulted a reporter for asking about his stance on health care, and was completely mute on murder of Jamal Khashoggi. Yeah, we've seen this before.

26 ( +29 / -3 )

The utter hypocrisy of this man... November can't come fast enough. It will help determine if the US destroys itself as per historical routine, or becomes better by realizing that you can't just elect anyone based on beliefs over reality.

22 ( +26 / -4 )

There is just something in this message from trump that just makes your flesh want to crawl off your bones.

trump has the sincerity of a dead rat. Innate platitudes like this are just so offensive. Sycophantic to the maximum. Hypercritical to the extreme.

Five seconds after reading out this morbid peace of child like rhteric, trump will have forgotten what he said.

20 ( +22 / -2 )

Reports have it that Biden also received a "suspicious package."

Let's be clear: This was an attempt to decapitate the leadership of the Democratic party. It is nothing to be made light of. It seems Trump is taking it seriously, but his inability to communicate coherently and reflex to assign blame so as to deflect from his own responsibility are not going to serve him well in this crisis.

19 ( +21 / -2 )

Isn't it about time for him to get a medical check-up?

16 ( +21 / -5 )

By the way, do you see how nice I'm behaving tonight?" he said. "Have you ever seen this?"

That comes across as Trump speaking to the grown-ups who wrote something lucid and mature for him to say.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

Those "engaged in the political arena" must "stop treating political opponents as being morally defective,"

basically his whole politician campaign was based on this . this guy is far more than just a hypocrite

17 ( +20 / -3 )

The president did not take any responsibility.

Unfit for any office.

17 ( +20 / -3 )

A great comment, coming from one who has repeatedly proven himself morally defective and ethically untethered... with each passing day, he sinks to a new low.

16 ( +18 / -2 )

trump has the sincerity of a dead rat.

thats probably being polite, Id say hes closer to a Pittbull with rabies

11 ( +13 / -2 )

called on the media to end its "hostility"

That’s rich, coming from the man who’s hostile to the media.

shouldn’t that be, “called on his disciples to end their hostility” ?

15 ( +16 / -1 )

How he says these things with a straight face... although, I imagine there was a self-congratulatory knowing smirk at some stage.

I don't like to indulge in too much hyperbole and conjecture but this whole thing smacks of some kind of attempted purge.

Very worrying.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

It is scary when rhetoric turns to physical attacks. I agree with him that we should be civil, although, ahem, I am a bit suspicious of his timing. Anyway, I wish all parties could stick to issues instead of calling each other names and doling out threats. "Sticks and stones" my foot! Names hurt! My liberal friends often ask how I can stand having so many conservatives in my facebook list. I reply that they are my friends, that's how. Just as they are.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

So, Trump, the man who LITERALLY asks people to violently assault detractors and cheers on people who physically assault media figures, is asking the MEDIA to tone down rhetoric because it's somehow THEIR fault that Trump's political rivals (past and present) are being threatened by the people who eat up his words? and then he praises himself for it?

This is insanity even for the redefined term Trump has given it.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Trump is like the arsonist who calls the fire department to put out his own fire.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

Trump: ""We want all sides to come together in peace and harmony,"

And look at all the negative reactions here in comparison. LOL.

-17 ( +4 / -21 )

Serrano, we'll see how much "peace and harmony" Trump will display over the next few days in his 03:00 tweets. He'll revert to attack mode soon; it's all he knows how to do, truth be damned.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

What is the biggest national security threat facing the U.S. today?

The sitting president?

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Trump: ""We want all sides to come together in peace and harmony,"

> And look at all the negative reactions here in comparison. LOL.

Yeah, its weird how people react when you go from praising violence against opponents one day to calling for everyone to have a hippie love-in the next. Its almost like they think you are a hypocrite or something.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Those "engaged in the political arena" must "stop treating political opponents as being morally defective,

When you don't have any morals to begin with, this comes off as coming from a hypocrite!

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Trump just keeps on reaching new lows.  Digging himself and the rest of the world deeper and deeper into the ground.

If we are not careful, we here in Japan just may see a golden haired rodent pop its head out from under the dirt some day soon.

S

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Look at all thepoison and vituperation spat at trump by the leftys on this thread.

This is far beyond the politics of left and right.  Trump is dragging down humanity as a whole with his abuse of position, power and complete lack of any morale standard.  It is so obvious to the rest of the world that it is laughable.  But we as a human race are not laughing at all.  We are cringing at the repulsiveness of Trump's continued attacks on the human soul.

After reading all of the above comments I drew the conclusion that the supreme leader mr T is not liked and most of us can see through his smoke screen, what sort of person he is really like, and his web of lies.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Narcissus J. Trumpnocchio is a dangerous embarrasment to peace and tranquility to the United States of America and to the entire world as well.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

What a knob! Be nice to me or else!?

10 ( +11 / -1 )

@ Seranno

Speaking of negative comments, didn't you say only a week or two back that the biggest threat to your country was the Dems and that they needed to be eradicated?

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Trump is like the arsonist who calls the fire department to put out his own fire.

then tells the police that his neighbor Mr Democrat started the fire, he heard it from a local KKK member.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

I'm trying to be nice. Do you see how nice I'm behaving tonight?

Great. So now the bar for presidential behavior is is set at "behaving."

9 ( +10 / -1 )

"What is the biggest national security threat facing the U.S. today?

The sitting president?"

Nah, that would be the Democrats.

"After reading all of the above comments I drew the conclusion that the supreme leader mr T is not liked and most of us can see through his smoke screen, what sort of person he is really like, and his web of lies."

Well, of course, if you read only the comments on this site without checking the facts you would draw that conclusion, lol.

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

Let's be clear: This was an attempt to decapitate the leadership of the Democratic party.

And you know this for a fact because....

It is nothing to be made light of. It seems Trump is taking it seriously, but his inability to communicate coherently and reflex to assign blame so as to deflect from his own responsibility are not going to serve him well in this crisis.

I think that’s what and how the left and the left WANT to perceive it.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

So, Trump, the man who LITERALLY asks people to violently assault detractors and cheers on people who physically assault media figures,

When Holder was advocating his supporters kick Trump supporters or when Waters pushes and advocates for violence as well as Hillary, that’s acceptable? For the life of me, the left point to Trump for pushing violence, but when Booker advocates for it, it’s just him expressing his personal views, give me a break.

is asking the MEDIA to tone down rhetoric because it's somehow THEIR fault that Trump's political rivals (past and present) are being threatened by the people who eat up his words? and then he praises himself for it?

The media are definitely part of the problem

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Trump has praised murderous neo-nazis, praised violent attacks on journalists, bragged about his own sexual assaults, encouraged his supporters to violently attack protesters and used unprecedented aggressive language against his opponents (now bomb targets).

He has zero credibility in general - but on this issue in particular - hate mongering and incitement to violence - he has less than zero credibility.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Trump isn’t a leader.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

I think that’s what and how the left and the left WANT to perceive it.

And you know this for a fact because...

8 ( +8 / -0 )

And you know this for a fact because...

By watching them explode nightly on TV and reading the meltdowns the next day in the paper.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

So bass are you ready to declare that this whole story is really about liberal hypocrisy? It’s right there waiting for you.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

The story has dropped off at Fox News. The only thing they have going now is a small story about some ISIS parody on one of the bombs. The comments show they’ve pretty much settled on this being a false flag operation.

When McConnell was harassed by protesters at a restaurant there was more coverage, including a half-dozen opinion pieces about stopping the liberal mob before someone gets hurt. No similar opinion pieces appear for this story.

It must suck that the GOP and Fox News’ coordinated attempt to make “liberal mobs” a thing suddenly gets taken off the front page with pipe bombs. Give it 48 hours or less and they will be back playing the victim card.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

So bass are you ready to declare that this whole story is really about liberal hypocrisy? It’s right there waiting for you.

No I will say this, I think that the left wants to point the finger at either Trump or at conservatives and don’t want to take any responsibility or accountability for everything that they have said and everything negative that has been documented and everything that has been on videotaped of their victims towards their victims, now what is happening is wrong very wrong, but to not except responsibility for the actions that the left has been continuously doing it shows the lack of responsibility and the reality of what liberals really aren’t.

When McConnell was harassed by protesters at a restaurant there was more coverage, including a half-dozen opinion pieces about stopping the liberal mob before someone gets hurt. No similar opinion pieces appear for this story.

If you want a 24 hour recycling of the story you can always watch CNN, because that’s all they play is just constant outrage repeatedly.

It must suck that the GOP and Fox News’ coordinated attempt to make “liberal mobs” a thing suddenly gets taken off the front page with pipe bombs. Give it 48 hours or less and they will be back playing the victim card.

And take away from the lefts victimization card?

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Bass: but to not except responsibility for the actions that the left has been continuously doing it shows the lack of responsibility and the reality of what liberals really aren’t.

So the issue to you is liberal hypocrisy.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

This literally isn't happening. Fake news.

Another outspoken Trump critic targeted.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Saw video of him 3 days ago at a rally yucking it up while crowd chanted (about Hillary) "Lock her up".

Trump clearly is an instigator of this divisiveness. Even though he defeated her in the election, like all bullies he revels in mistreating others.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

"Saw video of him 3 days ago at a rally yucking it up while crowd chanted (about Hillary) "Lock her up". Trump clearly is an instigator of this divisiveness."

Since when was it wrong to love your country?

( answer ): Since the Democratic Party went far left, spreading hatred, lies and misery.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Since when was it wrong to love your country?

nothing wrong with it until it becomes cronic.

"Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious." - Oscar Wilde.

"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" - Samuel Johnson

3 ( +4 / -1 )

So the issue to you is liberal hypocrisy.

Yes

This literally isn't happening. Fake news

No, it happened and still is happening as we speak, real news

https://youtu.be/jM8j1KoWYVA

Trump clearly is an instigator of this divisiveness. Even though he defeated her in the election, like all bullies he revels in mistreating others.

Actually that’s not true, the left of been going crazy since his election and Dave double down on it and before all this crap happened left we’re getting in people‘s faces it almost murdered a sitting senator doodle he eaten up another senator some radical groups smash to public and private property, so while it was not good for the president to say some of his comments, the violence is fully on the left where it started and certainly what could be happening is using a blue bag and now all of a sudden the left they don’t like it, but the entire time in the word tag and icing the ride it was acceptable.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

So the issue to you is liberal hypocrisy.

Yes

Hahaha, well, people can decide what they want about what he says, but there we have it folks - bombs were sent to murder people, and in his mind the issue is liberal hypocrisy. If there was ever any doubt he was absolutely delusional inside his bubble there, I think that the above reply erases it - even for the most extremist of extremists, with one exception - bass. He truly thinks he's not hyper-extremist partisan!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Trump has been tweeting about fake news which plays right into Trump's base saying it's a false flag operation, so by now it's pretty much set in stone.

Bass will round out the other group who will attack the left for hypocrisy, which is the preferred path when Republicans are accused.

And....that's it. Next up Fox will find someone being harassed by the left and the mail bombs will be pushed out of the headlines and all Republicans will return to the script that says left wing mobs are everywhere.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

He truly thinks he's not hyper-extremist partisan!

I’m not. A conservative, yes, but hyper-partisan, no

How is this gobbledegook generated? Is it speech recognition gone wrong, or some kind of auto writing software that just farts text up onto a screen?

Or it could be Siri.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

"We want all sides to come together in peace and harmony,"

Right. Trump is a great lover of peace and harmony, He'd love to do away with the Constitution unopposed.

SerranoOct. 25 01:25 pm JSTTrump: ""We want all sides to come together in peace and harmony,"

ULTIMATE HYPOCRITE! He has not shown a willingness to work with, debate or compromise with anyone who doen't kiss his fanny. He put down and made fun of Sen. McCain when he had fatal brain cancer when McCain didn't kowtow to him over the issue of Obamacare. People of both main parties (and former rivals) were at McCain's funeral but guess who was not invited?

Now this criminal says he wants everyone to 'come together in peace and harmony'. He sure hasn't shown any indication of that before! He's a liar, his words are empty.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Trump is a counter-puncher. The news media outlets attack him, and he responds by attacking them. The news media then claim it's unfair for Trump to respond in kind to their attacks. I've recently watched numerous high level Democrats, and their pet news media spokemodels, say that everyone should calm down and stop attacking each other. And then, without taking a breath, they proceed to attack Trump. Looks like a clear cut case of  Do As I Say And Not As I Do.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

"We want all sides to come together in peace and harmony," he said at a campaign rally in Wisconsin. "Any acts or threats of political violence are an attack on our democracy itself."

SuperLibOct. 25 07:24 pm JSTTrump isn’t a leader.

No way, Jose! he's a juvenile bully. When things go his way he gloats and toots his irritating vuveula horn all the time. When things don't he cries like a baby and then lashes out - like say, moaning for a mass National Guard deployment to the Mexican border and kidnapping thousands of children and placing them in concentration camps like the Little Hitler that he is.

Now that pipe bombs are being sent to major figures who has criticized or even questioned Trumptraitor, and he has openly bashed and encouraged violence against these people in the past, he's trying to play 'nice guy' and evade guilt from the hateful air and his method of projection and lies that he stirred up. Now he says he wants peace and harmony - yet he projects it all on the media!

I ain't buying his lies. I don't believe a word he says! The words and actions from him do not SHOW it.

Of course it's political! Every target is a Trump critic and he has publically smeared, bashed and even openly advocated violence on them. Putin does this on his critics.  Trump is a fascist.

What self-serving garbage.

Trump says something dumb or blatantly false, the media calls him out on it, and he tells his fans it's all fake news.

It started right out of the gates with his inauguration claims. Was the media "attacking" him for pointing out his lies and Trump was just counter punching?

7 ( +8 / -1 )

The democrats are trying to muzzle President Trump in final days before the midterms. It's another in a long list of strategies that's not gonna work.

At the WI rally, President Trump cleverly used, in measured tones and without naming names, a call for an end to the political behavior of violence and intimidation. Any listener with an ounce of common sense could easily fill in the blanks as to which person(s) bad behavior he was referring to.

Chalk up another win for our President,

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Trump says something dumb or blatantly false, the media calls him out on it, and he tells his fans it's all fake news.

And the media had to either retract or fire someone for lying and deceiving the public and when they were caught lying, they compounded it with more lies and for what? Ratings, that’s a fact. I know the game, it’s all about ratings and CNN and msnbc have been battling it out and whatever sells on clickbait or ups their ratings, they will go the extra length and good on the President for calling them out and not allowing himself to be a punching bag for thr left.

It started right out of the gates with his inauguration claims.

Yeah, yeah, you guys did the same had a fit with Bush as well, when Dems win elections, the left tell them, shut up, accept it, elections have consequences, well, that holds true on the left as well.

Was the media "attacking" him for pointing out his lies and Trump was just counter punching*

For the most part “overly” exaggerated lies.

Challenged received and accepted.

For the second time this week, a leading Democratic voice is proposing that the party pursue a meaner, more combative approach — with this one going so far as to allude to metaphorical violence.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

mukashiyokatta - "Don't do as I do -- do as I SAY," says Trump. Defend THAT, Trump supporters!

Easily. Trump is a counter-puncher. The news media began attacking Trump during his campaign for President, and they haven't let up. What seems to be the most frustrating part for the news media outlets is that Trump refuses to be bullied by the biased news outlets. The news media outlets are not used to having people standing up to them. And many of the voters voted for Trump because he does stand up to the news media bullying.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

@arrestpul Easily. Trump is a counter-puncher.

Trump is a suckerpuncher. He initiates fights, throws the first punch, by making outlandish claims. (Think Obama's birth certificate, thousands of Muslims dancing after 911, Middle Easterners in the 'caravan', etc. etc.)

He does this for many reasons, often to distract from one of his mess-ups; it's his variation on the military throw-a-grenade-to-distract ploy. (Though of course he shunned military service.)

As a lifelong master of manipulating media Trump knows some outlet is going to eventually report what he said, usually quoting him verbatim.

Then when they do, he'll twist what they say, claim he didn't say that (even though there are recordings to show he did) to make himself look like a victim.

He might counterpunch, but usually he does that after suckerpunching. By 'counterpunching' he keeps his brand name in the media, which he uses to his advantage better than any modern day president.

Typical spoiled class bully tactic.

President Trump has been just as bad as the left when it comes to verbal hostility. So I think it's about even there.

Both Right and Left ought to eliminate the mutual put downs and stick to formulating and articulating economic and border security policies that will win over swing voters and the working class.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

President Trump has been just as bad as the left when it comes to verbal hostility.

Trump wrote the book the extreme leftists are now playing by.

It's disingenuous to both put the whole left into one group, and it's disingenuous to suggest they are equal. Birthirism anyone?
