Trump is trying to change things. It's Trump v the CIA right now.

Trump want's to kill the terrorist, why the CIA back them "even" after they killed 5,000 of there troops in Iraq, and will not form a better gov when they hold rights workers and behead kids.

Who are the CIA? What kind of body are they.

They are monster that now arm the people that killed there troops in Iraq.

Just think AL-Q is being armed by the CIA in Syria. The same people that killed U.S troops and fled to Syria after they lost the battle in Iraq, are now being armed by the CIA....That's disgusting and shows what the CIA are.

It's the beyond disgusting that they arm AL-Q after they killed 5,000 of there troops, and what for?

What for? To turn Syria into a terrorist haven. What happens after the rebels and AL-Q win?

How will Syria be a better county if the terrorist that behead kids and hold rights workers hostage "AL-Q and the rebels" win?

Put it all into reality. Look at what the CIA are doing. They don't care about there own 5,000 dead troops. Do you think the CIA is a good body, or monsters?

Yes people they are monsters so out of reality, they are bribing all media outlets and even sabotaged my strategies for Iraq and Afghanistan.

Donald J. Trump shut them down and let the FBI take over. All this media backlash on Trump is backed by the CIA. Sorry people the CIA are backing the same people that crushed them and killed 5,000 of there own troops in Iraq. The reality of that should make you sick.

The CIA is no hero body "but" weak monsters that murder there troops and mass civilians.

In 2007 they had a chance to change the world for good with me.....Win any war and make democracy's. Instead they sabotaged my strategies and didn't use some of them. They f me over stole my ideas and doomed the world.

Now look. We have Russia in Syria with nuclear missiles. the world is a mess right now. I am now helping Russia, and have found away to detect all U.S stealth jet's.

The CIA have made a big mistake in so many different ways.

The CIA control the media and are beyond corrupt. They are murdering there troops 2.

There's this from Trump:

“The press — the public doesn’t believe you people anymore. Now, maybe I had something to do with that. I don’t know. But they don’t believe you. But you’ve got to be at least a little bit fair, and that’s why the public sees it. They see it. They see it’s not fair. You take a look at some of your shows and you see the bias and the hatred.”

And from someone worth listening to in the Trump administration, James Mattis:

“I’ve had some rather contentious times with the press. But no, the press, as far as I’m concerned, are a constituency that we deal with. And I don’t have any issues with the press, myself.”

Funny how he doesn't quite see things the same way, isn't it? That may be because he's sane, competent individual who's succeeded in his career, that to be honest, I'd much rather see as President.

Is this man for real? is the gist of most of the comments. But there is lots more to come.

Trump supporters simply want the media to be fair to Trump and they are not, most of the attacks are emotional in nature

Tell me who is being unfair in the following exchange, Trump or the reporter whom Trump doesn't know and who has yet to ask a question:

TRUMP: Wait. Let’s see. Who’s — I want to find a friendly reporter.

QUESTION: Mr....

TRUMP: Are you a friendly reporter? Watch how friendly he is. Wait. Wait. Watch how friendly he is. Go ahead.

Are these the kind of "beatdowns" you enjoy watching? Did you also enjoy watching big boys beating up little boys on the schoolyard?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Trump supporters simply want the media to be fair to Trump and they are not

"Fair" meaning obedient?

The media's job is to be fair to the American people, the majority of whom did not vote for Trump. And to protect them from a president who shrugs off his own lies with:

“Well, no I was told — I was given that information.”

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Trump supporters simply want the media to be fair to Trump and they are not

Kind of like how Fox "News" was fair to Obama during his term?

Trump supporters seem to want the media to not do what their media spent eight years doing, and are all in hysterics because the "MSM" is doing exactly what their "MSM" did.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

It's not fine. You just have it in your head that there is some kind of war and war makes you take positions you otherwise wouldn't take. It's a bad decision and one that hurts you, but you are getting something from Trump that outweighs the loss.

There are legitimate questions that the media needs to be asking Trump. I'm sure you understand and agree with that. Whatever you or Trump think the media is doing is irrelevant to the bigger point that Trump simply isn't answering enough questions on important issues. He can make whatever case he wants against the media, but there's no reason he can't follow it up with at least a statement on some of the bigger stories. He is keeping Americans in the dark as much as possible.

And we both know he looks into the camera and lies, and I have no idea what you expect the media to do with that. I also never hear of any objections from you which at this point I'm assuming is approval. You and I are in the same boat when he does that. We both lose. You have no reason to support a position that keeps you in the dark with absolutely nothing tangible in return. Yes, you can troll moderates and liberals, but is that really that everything to you? There's no reason why you can't call him out on that, and if enough Trump fans did he would probably do it less often. But you don't.

If you're going to avoid all of my points by turning them into a comparison of someone else, then save it. Just create your own post and put it there since you don't need anything I'm saying. Your point about hypocrisy has been made a thousand times so maybe set it aside for a minute and face the issues head on.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

I think too many Trump fans want to see the media criticized above any clear answers or policy measures from Trump. Until that changes his rambling anti-press conferences will satisfy them just for being anti-press.

And that's fine. Trump supporters simply want the media to be fair to Trump and they are not, most of the attacks are emotional in nature, gutter sniping, false analysis that are all designed to get clicks rather to inform just becomes pure noise and the people will cry foul as they should, they know how the media swooned and protected Obama on virtually every issue and they know no matter what, Trump is getting hit No matter what he does. It doesn't matter what Trump haters think, but video doesn't lie and we call can see partisan bias from the media and they have the right to be skeptical.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

@brbush JT is not the news sources, the Associated Press is, as per the bottom of the article.

I understand how you're using 'source' in this instance, but as an English as a foreign language learner you should know that there are different ways to interpret what 'source' means. I keep reading in different 'sources', even Russia Today, that someone in Russia pays trolls to attack US institutions, particularly media. Do you know anything about that?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

His policies?

Has he said what he's going to do about Russian missiles and hacking? Has he explained why he waited weeks before telling Pence he had misrepresented Flynn's statements?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

He laid out his plans and policies throughout the campaign. Its all up on his web site. Click on over there and be prepared to be Red Pilled.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

I Thought the press conference was great. Its good to see the establishment media get slammed for blatantly lying to the American public due to partisan bias for the past 22 months. I am really looking forward to watching his rally in Florida!

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

I watched excerpts from this press conference and if I didn't know Trump was teetotal...

@Jimizo

I watched it all, which is a first for me (listening to a politician speak for 90 minutes) .I have to give it to him. He predicted this news article. (Watch tomorrow's press, folks!. Or words to that effect.)

Take out his strange use of words and strange speech mannerisms. Ignore the constant references to his own achievements. Put aside dislikes for his attitudes and business behavior. (I certainly can't stand the man on a number of fronts.) He seemed quite aware of his situation and the circumstances around him.

I was reminded of a line from a poem by Edwin Morgan. (about a person perhaps not so dissimilar)

"Deplore what is to be deplored, then find out the rest."

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Press from governments are usually a yawn, but his is definitely entertaining.

The leaks are true but the news is fake -- President Trump

So true. There are criminals leaking confidential material to the radical alt-left media in snippets, but no one person from within the propaganda wing of the DNC has actually seen the complete body of leaked materials. This means that when one leftist outlet speculates on the context, other MSM droids report that speculation as an undeniable fact.

So, yes, the leaks are real but the news is fake.

Are there any left wing journalists you respect?

Rachel Maddow, Van Jones, James Carville, Ellis Henican and a good friend of mine that I grew up with is Cenk Uygur who is a very liberal journalist, but not far left crazy bomb thrower, we used to have deep conversations, often disagreed on many issues and on some we agreed. There are a few other liberals I admire, even if I don't agree with them politically all the time.

"Funny r example?"

I have no idea what that means.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

That's very true. To take one example, George Will is an elite journalist I admire ( perhaps your paths have crossed ) who offers a very political view to my own but I respect his intellect, clarity of thought and precision of language - he reminds me of you in many ways. For UK writers on the right, I like to read Douglas Murray, a man who challenges ideas I hold dear - he makes me think.

I appreciate that.

I just get the sense with Trump that he doesn't particularly care about journalistic quality or integrity. He likes people who like him. Fox is a rightist tabloid on air while MSNBC is a leftist tabloid on air. Trump likes Fox for obvious reasons. I think a non-partisan view of this would see it this way. Fox also deserves to be beaten down on the grounds of sacrificing journalistic integrity for popularity. I'm sure you'd agree.

Funny r example?

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

"Sadly, most of them have lost their journalistic ethics. Nowadays, these so called faux reporters are looking more for click bait than upholding journalistic standards. Greed overrides integrity."

Should Trump ban the MSM from his press conferences since they are so mean to him?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

so called faux reporters

Challenging, is it?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Those who whine on about the so called "MSM" are not just pathetic weaklings - c'mon, do you need to be spoon-fed your news? Are you entirely bereft of analytical and critical skills? Are you somehow chained to a single outlet? - but the are clearly anti-free market, anti-capitalist. The news business is one of the most competitive in America, esp. in the age of the Net. Discerning readers browse widely for facts and insight written skillfully and often as part of months-long investigative journalism. Lose those features and you'll lose your readers.

Sadly, most of them have lost their journalistic ethics. Nowadays, these so called faux reporters are looking more for click bait than upholding journalistic standards. Greed overrides integrity.

Grow up - or not. The whining is always entertaining, particularly when it comes from the president.

And the media.

The pre-election smackdown President Trump gave the MSM on a daily basis was great after having to endure the previous eight years. But this press conference was fantastic!!!

Oh, without a doubt!

Meanwhile, the crybabies within the alt-left radical media were in full melt down mode last night. The biggest knee slapper was when Jake Tapper described elitist left wing propaganda as a danger to the First Amendment.

If they keep acting like a bunch of senseless fools they'll get elected to pretty much nothing and will just be seen on back ally home made studios broadcasting and spewing venom hoping to attract likeminded far left radical progressives.

The POTUS coined another category lower than fake news. It is now officially called "Very Fake News".

Congratulations, CNN, for initiating the new trend. . . .

I had to watch it 3 times, it was too funny. The slap down of CNN and the BBC was the best part, couldn't stop laughing.

At least give Trump kudos for taking questions from 17 different reporters of various backgrounds

But Trump should really start questioning whoever has been feeding him such easily erroneous information

Like this very comical exchange:

Trump: “I wasn’t supposed to get 222 [Electoral College votes]. They said there’s no way to get 222, 230’s impossible — 270, which you need, that was laughable. We got 306 because people came out and voted like they’ve never seen before, so that’s the way it goes. I guess it was the biggest Electoral College win since Ronald Reagan.”

Reporter: “You said today that you had the biggest electoral margin with 304 or 306 electoral votes. In fact, President Obama got 365.”

Trump: “[He's] not a Republican.”

Reporter: “George H.W. Bush [got] 426 when he won as president.”

Trump: “Well, no I was told — I was given that information.”

Reporter: “Why should Americans trust you when you have accused the information they receive of being fake when you’re providing information that’s untrue?”

Trump: “Actually, I’ve seen that information around. But it was a very substantial victory. Do you agree with that?”

Reporter: “You’re the president.”

Trump did clear the 270 mark substantially with 304 (not 306 that he claims) electoral votes, but since Ronald Reagan, only G.W. Bush had fewer electoral votes than Trump (the other Presidents won by bigger Electoral College wins). A simple wiki check would've corrected that.

So Trump should be questioning more whoever's been feeding him information - and people also should be more questioning Trump's information feeder

@ @brbush So don't think for a second that you're getting unbiased information here.

By 'here' do you mean JT? Why do you think JT would be biased?

The press conference was the lead story in Russia Today. Do you think RT's reporting of Trump is unbiased?

You attack the media daily. What's gained by doing that? What media sources do you think are unbiased?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Burning BushFEB. 17, 2017 - 08:21PM JST So don't think for a second that you're getting unbiased information here.

Bias ≠ false.

Something only becomes known to be false when you actually go through the steps to show verifiable evidence proving it to be false. Anything less than that is nothing more than, "Waaaaaaaah!!! Waaaaaaaaah!!! People said things I don't like!!! Waaaaaaaaaah!!!"

8 ( +8 / -0 )

So don't think for a second that you're getting unbiased information here.

None of us do. Don't think you're not either.

But, biased doesn't mean fake. Left-leaning news may write in a left-leaning bias, but they are reporting on actual things he said, unlike right-leaning news which is just attacking media for reporting.

The thing Trump doesn't realize is that you cannot win against the media without turning into a fascist state and controlling the media. All the president can do is influence the media, and he's doing nothing to influence the media in a good way, he's simply fighting a losing battle against the media.

Alternatively, yes.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

why would you give control of your uranium production capacity to the enemy who at the same time is supposedly hacking your elections?

Two things. First of all, your characterization of the uranium deal is spurious. Do a fact check. Secondly, this happened between 2009 and 2013, not at the same time Russia was "supposedly" hacking "our" elections. Comrade.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Drip, drip, drip. Hard to watch that cringe-o-thon press conference and not think Trump is losing it. Unhinged is a perfect qualifier.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

his approval ratings just went UP this week according to the latest Rasmussen Poll

Perhaps from 3 to 4 people. And one of those was drunk at the time. I can't seriously believe anyone supports Trump now except as some kind of ironic gesture. I don't believe anyone is so blind as to be unable to see straight through him now. He's a conman. Always was.

with the stipulation that no uranium could be exported from North America.>

Sure, Im aware of that stipulation. But why would you give control of your uranium production capacity to the enemy who at the same time is supposedly hacking your elections? Disclaimer: This whole screaming of Russia! Hacking! as a response to everything is total nonsense, even further proven by this sale.

Why are they buying it if they cant do anything with it? Do you go to the supermarket and buy all the ingredients for a sandwich and then just leave it all there and go home hungry with no sandwich?

Also, who ensures that it doesnt leave North America? Russia? The Russia that supposedly cant be trusted? The uranium police of North America? Who? Too much risk and too many questions for me to accept this as something that made sense to do. At the very least this is 20% of the uranium that is no longer available for USA use when/if needed.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

So he doesnt have the skillset to describe the scientific properties of uranium, big deal.

Blacklabel, he doesn't have the skillset to fact-check what syllables he vomits up. A Russian company had bid to purchase a Canadian mining firm which produced 20% of the uranium consumed by the US, and Clinton greenlighted the deal - with the stipulation that no uranium could be exported from North America. I can understand that an average joe might not be aware of this, but a president's words are consequential. Trump's verbal diarrhea has already gotten him in trouble. He must be removed before he causes a disaster for the US.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Yeah lots of things are done with uranium....like 20% of the USA places where it can be produced being sold to Russia (with Hillary Clinton supporting and Obama with final approval).

So he doesnt have the skillset to describe the scientific properties of uranium, big deal. I didnt elect him as Scientist of the United States, he can leave that to the specialists. He knows you can make nukes from it, that is sufficient enough.

-16 ( +0 / -16 )

The Russian paid contributors took a while to get their talking points.

Welcome back...

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Who cares, they won't notice anyway' sort of thing.

Agreed. I'd go a step further; American's seem suspicious of academics and experts and magnetically drawn to 'tough talkers' who provide easy to grasp solutions to complex problems. A problem in a far away land? - Ban 'em, bomb it. Someone doing your job for cheaper? - Build a wall. Climate change? - Scientific claptrap. Beliefs are stronger than facts, facts are false if they are inconvenient.

What I'm saying is that Americans trust cretins like Trump more than they trust people who possess seemingly arcane knowledge that they cannot grasp themselves.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Trump is definitely having an economic effect, the rate of bomb shelter construction has skyrocketed

5 ( +5 / -0 )

It's clear the MSM is feeling great pangs of conscience for having given Trump the benefit of a doubt during the campaign. What they report may not be nearly enough to undo the damage.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

the biased media who wants to make the story not just report what happens,

This story wasn't made. I watched Trump's press conference and saw what happened. Trump's behavior was a disgrace, and his policy statements were gibberish.

“You know what uranium is, right? This thing called nuclear weapons, like lots of things are done with uranium, including some bad things.”

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Listened to it all and recognized the choreography: Toxic Negotiator's Playbook.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I guess it might be a good time to start buying shares in Fox news.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I think this is a question of standards rather than fake news. I honestly don't mean to be insulting here, but Trump supporters do accept a lower level of logical expression, clarity and eloquence than others from the president of the US. I'd go with the argument that what Trump voters voted for was a man who would get things done, rather than a slick salesman who truly does have a lot of words including the best words. I'd add knowing how to spell those words does help with the credibility when claiming an expansive knowledge of the language.

Haha very well said jimizo! I think 'standards' is the key word here. Early on i sometimes thought i was being 'snobby' and somehow culturally insensitive re Trump and just 'didn't get him'. That was early in the campaign say 12-18 month ago. But then it became pretty obvious that what we saw was DT at his very best and that he didn't have much more to offer.

I have nothing against politicians who want to be understood by most and use a simple/simplistic rhetoric but in Trump's case I think he insults people's intelligence even/especially his own supporters. His infamous 'I like the poorly educated' was only the beginning.

Trump: 'Spelling mistakes, limited vocabulary? Who cares, they won't notice anyway' sort of thing.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

It all comes down to who you think the swamp actually IS.

I think the swamp is: Congressional members serving themselves rather than the people, lobbyists who increase the price of everything they are involved in, the biased media who wants to make the story not just report what happens, judges who want to make new laws from the bench, and people who are careless with National Security and classified information.

Now the people Trump has put in to place may be just as bad or worse. But they have yet to actually do anything that proves so, you cant judge them on what you think they might do. Judge on results.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

Is this a joke?? Anyone with half a brain could see the media bias. Do not be fooled JT readers. A very large portion of the country loves the President and the media is imploding because of that fact. Trump has bypassed the media and is talking directly to the public. (Left and Right) This is what is causing a media meltdown. Life is very optimistic in the U.S.A. 2017. Do not buy in to the media BS.

So to get this straight, are you agreeing that there isn't actually fake news on Trump, but rather just a media bias?

4 ( +10 / -6 )

For a President of the United States to behave and speak like this makes our country-and us-look like fools and far worse: crude, ignorant, liars. His vile behavior is encouraging the lunatic fringe here and elsewhere to come out of the dark and join him. Don't accept it. Not from him, not from anyone. Hell no.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

He is doing a good job on the things that he was elected to do, keeping the campaign promises and such.

On some of them. You have to give him credit for following through on some of the things that even people on his team were saying 'he's not actually serious about doing that'. I don't agree with the things he does, but I give him credit for doing what he said he'd do.

But, one of his biggest campaign promises was draining the swamp, and that's something he's not done at all. He's shored it up with people who are arguably worse than the swamp he wanted to drain. And that's a huge one, because unlike building a wall, which will just cost a bunch of money, and banning Muslims, which will just keep some people out of the country, the swamp he is building will change policy, and screw the people in ways that cannot be rectified for many, many years.

But as long has he talks about the wall, and keeps trying to ban Muslims, the players on his team will continue to defend his swamping, and redirecting criticism to Hillary even though she's irrelevant now.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

He is doing a good job on the things that he was elected to do, keeping the campaign promises and such. I dont think anyone will change their mind by him doing a good job on things they didnt want done.

Most people their core beliefs will never change much. For example, I believe if you are illegally in a country and it is found out, you gotta go. I dont care about your job performance, if you paid tax or not, your kids/family, how long you been there or whatever sob story you have. Time to get out, there was a legal way to come and you chose to do the opposite.

Eventually it will just be that people have more money in their pocket and a better, safer life (or they dont). That will mean more to people than some innocent people they dont even know or care about being inconvenienced by whatever immigration laws are put into place. I personally dont care that non citizens are inconvenienced to try to come live/visit in my country. Japan didnt care about that when I came to live in theirs, no Japanese are protesting on my behalf that I know of.

-18 ( +1 / -19 )

Nothing much has changed since the election.

I wonder. I'd like to see an independent poll looking into the numbers of people who voted for Trump, and now think it may be the wrong decision, as well as those who voted against him, but have come to think he is doing a good job.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Well, the people, including Republicans, who think Trump is mentally unstable and possibly even handicapped have DEFINITELY been proven right with this. Oh my god was that ever something! Unhinged doesn't even begin to cover what the man is!

8 ( +9 / -1 )

After this breaking-bad performance it must be clear to all but the dimmest that ham actor Trump is just winging it from day to day, clearly oblivious of the shambles he has been creating all around him and equally unconcerned about the mockery he is making of the office of President. He blindly believes that, as long as he plays up to the aggrieved Trumpland deplorables, their resentment and support will suffice to keep him in power, but how long will he be able to survive the the revenge of insulted and the damned minions of the MSM who are sharpening their knives and hatchets, not to mention the darker and more dangerous adversaries in the security services and the mandarins of the Deep State who no doubt are already poring over their contingency plans and going over their options. I wonder if Steve Bannon, the oracle, and arch-priest of conspiracy theories, has warned his boss to stay far away from grassy knolls.

The people who voted for him are quite satisfied with what he is saying, what he is doing and how he is doing it. The people who didnt are not. Nothing much has changed since the election. He will be successful despite the outright hostility from the other side and over time the results will speak for themselves.

Rambling?

I think this is a question of standards rather than fake news. I honestly don't mean to be insulting here, but Trump supporters do accept a lower level of logical expression, clarity and eloquence than others from the president of the US.

I'd go with the argument that what Trump voters voted for was a man who would get things done, rather than a slick salesman who truly does have a lot of words including the best words. I'd add knowing how to spell those words does help with the credibility when claiming an expansive knowledge of the language.

I've watched this news conference. Much of it is embarrassing drivel from a whining, slippery loudmouth.

What amazes me is the inability of Trump's "base" to face the truth squarely and admit they have bet on the wrong horse.

What amazes me is that so many still don't get it about Trump's "base." Trump was not voted in to play the game. He's there to flip the board over and expose the game for the charade that it is. Doing a pretty good job so far.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

This orange doesn't even realized he's been president for a few weeks now, cause he's still rambling about how big he "won" the electoral. It's like getting a boyfriend and he can't stop rambling about how much he sacrificed for you and you should appreciate him more ... what a total douche

11 ( +11 / -0 )

The most unfortunate thing that Mr TRUMP has been fighting for so far were those FEMINISTS! It is definately not a fummy thing to pissoff their leader: Hillary Clinton. She will keep brickering with you by slamming your head with her heel! Yes, the CNN is a very powerful heel using to undermine your presidency. Thats why I think it doesnt worth to argue with feminists at all . Once if your first presidency has accomplished with great success after you fullfilled your pledges during your campaign, their voice will be marginrized like crying babes. Work it out Mr President, people want to see your deeds not arguing especially arguing with women is not a wise thing......!

You have an unstable mental case within arms reach of the nuclear codes. Any other country this is a threat to world security. Requiring immediate action

The right uses "fake news" to mean, "deliberately constructed lies, in the form of news articles, meant to mislead the public."

Well today we've heard plenty of claims that the reporting on Trump's news conference was fake news. So which items specifically were deliberately constructed lies meant to mislead the public?

4 ( +8 / -4 )

One thing you have to realize is that the right doesn't use 'fake news' to mean 'fake news', it uses 'fake news' to mean 'news I don't like'.

More fake news. I watched the news conference and it was in no way "rambling;" any questions were answered very clearly.

The fact that you think his answers were very clear reveals your warped reality. No wonder you can't recognize when something is truly "fake."

He was rambling and that's a fact. What else do you call it when someone meanders to get to points, meanders to go nowhere, repeats themselves, etc.? And why is he still going on and on (i.e., rambling, and falsely at that) about how big his election win was? We get it, you won. Move on.

I guess the reporters at the event did not like being called dishonest because they are, the truth always hurts.

Trump didn't seem to like it when that reporter pointed out his bogus electoral college claim either. On the flip side, Trump couldn't clearly specify what exactly was fake about recent reporting. Can you guys?

"there has never been a presidency that has done so much in such a short period of time."

.... To ruin a country, he should have added.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

@fizzb Some are blind to it.

If you're saying those claiming there's a media-led conspiracy are blind, it could be they're not actually blind in the clinical sense of the word, just benighted. Staying angry for long periods of time does have that kind of effect on some.

However, I think the angriest Trump supporters, those who want to see the US system destroyed, should be happy watching Trump and his wrecking crew in action.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Just for the sake of our edification and enlightenment, can those who identify fake news so perspicaciously tell us the truth about the Trump press conference? We may have missed some wires or smoke that give away the reality.

@elephant20

The US has a free press. It's not Russia. Americans need a free press. Do you want the US to be like Russia and let an autocrat rule? Most Americans don't. Go fight battles for Russian people; unless you prefer your system the way it is.

The Peter Principle: In an organizational hierarchy, every employee will rise or get promoted to his or her level of incompetence. This pretty much explains what's happening.

What amazes me is the inability of Trump's "base" to face the truth squarely and admit they have bet on the wrong horse.

I think his base are just trying to make their way up the hierarchy.

Trump blasts media in rambling press conference

It's like this everyday now. If it's not on Twitter, it's during a press conference, or Fox.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Mr President I wish you better ignore those bloody media especially the CNN, they were nobody and very tasteless ! Keep on track doing everything you pledged in your campaign, this is the most important thing.

What are the chances that those in control want to keep him at the front of the stage as a farcical distraction, while significant changes slip through unnoticed behind the scenes?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Trump: "The leaks are absolutely real." = meaning those anonymous sources are from official sources

Since they're from official sources, then those sources and their information are legit

4 ( +6 / -2 )

More fake news.

Exactly! Realist

Rambling!?

Leave the opinions to the Op/Eds and posters AP! I know it works both ways, but this is the AP, a big member of the MSM, and then tomorrow we'll read an AP story about fake news. Some are blind to it.

More fake news. I watched the news conference and it was in no way "rambling;"

Right . . .

"And - but a lot of people are happy about it. In fact, I'll be in Melbourne, Florida five o'clock on Saturday and I heard - just heard that the crowds are massive that want to be there. I turn on the T.V., open the newspapers and I see stories of chaos. Chaos. Yet it is the exact opposite. This administration is running like a fine- tuned machine, despite the fact that I can't get my cabinet approved."

9 ( +10 / -1 )

He's gaslighting both the media and the American people.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

The press conference was akin to an Orwellian black comedy with the lead being played by one of those old grumpy guys from the Muppets. Does he just wake up in the morning and decide to do the first thing that pops into his head? How long does he think he can continue as though he is on the campaign trail where his gullible followers belive black is white if Trump say's so?

And just on his supporters, I was watching some cable TV today where they went deep into Trump country (bar, pool table, over weight people in cowboy and baseball hats) and asked what they thought of Trump's statement that the leaks are real but the news is fake? Talk about confused faces. Although some of them agreed immediately that DT was right.

The more I see Trump the more i am reminded of the Coue method aka conscious autosuggestion. He always repeats the same things, the same way, with the same tone, words, facial expressions etc (was designed to build confidence).

Problem is extreme self confidence through autosuggestion often leads to delusion, fanaticism, paranoia and other mental disorders as you're completely disconnected from others, live in your own world and only believe the mantras you've created. Exactly the way I see Trump.

Hard to argue with that, if providing a decade's worth of satire material is doing so much.

And he hasn't even been president a month!

Trump is now odds on to resign or be impeached before the end of his first term ( 10/11 ). The odds have tumbled dramatically in less than a month of his presidency.

What sort of jerk talks to reporters like this, before they even begin their question?

TRUMP: Where are you from?

QUESTION: BBC.

TRUMP: Here’s another beauty.

QUESTION: That’s a good line. Impartial, free and fair.

TRUMP: Yeah. Sure.

QUESTION: Mr. President...

TRUMP: Just like CNN right?

or like this to a Jewish reporter:

TRUMP: Wait. Let’s see. Who’s — I want to find a friendly reporter.

QUESTION: Mr....

TRUMP: Are you a friendly reporter? Watch how friendly he is. Wait. Wait. Watch how friendly he is. Go ahead.

(The reporter is then interrupted and told to sit down after he asks something about the rise of anti-semitism in America.)

Maybe. Pence might end up being more sane, but worse overall.

Pence would be worse in the sense that he would be much more competent at pursuing a policy agenda that I strongly disagree with than Trump.

On the other hand though I would at least be able to sleep at night knowing that a mentally disturbed ticking time bomb wasn't the most powerful man on Earth. And at this point, that really is a huge plus for Pence. Keeping Trump in office is just playing with fire.

Here's a new headline on Trump being somewhat missed due to his press conference: Trump overturns bill on coal mining debris

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has put the brakes on a regulation blocking coal mining debris from being dumped into nearby streams.

With his signature hyperbole betrayed by reality,

And as always, he'll blame the press. Curious that no Nashi bots have posted responses yet on this thread. I wonder if they feel their mission's been accomplished. They may have wanted Trump in office, but now probably realize Trump is doing so much damage to the US that the US's days as world power are rapidly drawing to a close.

What's worrying is when things have gone south for Republicans they've resorted to a wag the dog to take attention away from the messes they've made. I hope they won't resort to their usual fallback and invade another country.

14 ( +16 / -2 )

Is he cracking?

Trump had said earlier in the day regarding Flynn's replacement, “I have somebody that I think will be outstanding for the position," and then Vice Admiral Robert Harward bolts.Foolish of Trump: a basic rule is not to hint at a nomination until the nominee has been buttonholed. Haward's "family issues" excuse was classic - likely his family strongly cautioned him not to get within a mile of this sinking administration and be left forever tainted with its growing radioactivity.

Maybe some B- or C-list person with no other options will volunteer. In the meantime, the NSA remains rudderless. The patheticalness of Trump's administration would be funny if it were not so dangerous. Sunday morning, we'll enjoy reports of his Florida rally - apparently, he has all the time in the world for publicity stunts like that while leaving the ship of state drifting perilously.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Any chance of a 'criminal', 'dishonest', 'bad', 'fake' president?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Trump trying to do damage control, but he still looks like a crank and someone who just parrots false information.

The only positive statements from Trump is him commenting on his knowledge of Russian contact. "'To the best of my knowledge no person that I deal with does,” he added."

Of course, he was briefed by the intelligence agencies that people who he dealt with did have contact with the Russians.

He lies so much though, it is still impossible to believe that statement. The Senate needs to strongly investigate the Russian election hacking scandal and the Trump campaign involvement with Russians.

We need to know what Trump knew and when, and what information he received from advisers and what instructions he gave.

I don't want another years long partisan investigation like the Benghazi investigations.

I just want an independent investigator to make sure that Trump is not tainted by Russian influence and ensure steps are taken to prevent interference in the 2017 election. I can't take Trump's word on it with all the lies and dictatorship like comments coming from his office.

18 ( +18 / -0 )

This was a little bit disturbing to watch. He is the POTUS no question, but I think the electorate have voted themselves (and hence the rest of us) a bumpy ride.

I watched excerpts from this press conference and if I didn't know Trump was teetotal, I'd swear he was half-cut. This was disturbing. Gibbering rants, silly name-calling and rambling stupidity. His approach reminded me of a hippo spinning its tail when taking a dump to spread its feces.

Get your money on him not lasting 4 years. His mind isn't going to take it. I'll be spending today looking at the best odds.
