I don't know how they determine jury duty in New York City, but I assume that it comes from voter records or driver's license records that were linked to an address that Mr. Trump used. How did they miss 5 notices sent to that same address?

Trump, who had been summoned for jury duty but didn’t appear five times before

very presidential

What? Did Trump get demoted already? He keeps saying he's judge and jury. Guess his record on jury duty is like his service record, missing out of action. (Funny, AWOL Bush had the same resume. Just like Jeb Bush and Karl Rove and Dick Cheney.)

Veterans have long been aware of "The Donald's" special relationship with laws that applied millions who served their country. Trump doesn't play those games. Like jury duty, Trump was a no show.

"For someone wanting to run the “free world,” at the most critical time in his life when 2.9 million American served in Vietnam and millions more in the military, for no reason known to anyone, and in direct contradiction to the laws of man and the United States, Donald Trump managed to “slide on by.”

"The generation that served, some surviving, many more not, isn’t ready to welcome “the Donald” until he explains exactly where and why. Where were you Donald? Why didn’t you serve? How did you get out of it? Where did you go? Who helped you?"

The most popular person with the Republican primary voter, ladies and gentlemen.

What. A. Joke.

Have you ever served on a jury duty? It's his job as a responsible American.

Let's not go there when you talk about Veterans. I don't think that Trump would allow the Veterans to die. Just ask them how they feel about Obama.

Careful study of the Associated Press article in JT reveals: "Trump, who had been summoned for jury duty but didn’t appear five times before." - article

So much for responsibility. Just like his ducking service during Vietnam, n'est pas?

So did Clinton.

Many will be eating up the anti-Trump bottom feeding MSM yellow journalism for months to come. It will be fun watching it all.

Anti-Trump?

MSM yellow journalism?

I know you want to say her name. It will be a hoot if Megyn Kelly gets to moderate all the debates. Got popcorn?

So lucky nowadays that if you don't called, you are out in a day. I remember back in the late 90s and early 2000s when I went, I had to wait up to 10 days in order to be cleared to go.

One thing that I never understood is that I get a jury summons every year even though I tell them each time that I am in Japan. Some of my friends living there have not once received a summons.

I thought the weekend talk show interviews with Trump were actually pretty fair. The media have changed tactics. Instead of ignoring him they are now covering him nonstop. Probably hoping overexposure will finally make it go away.

Anybody who falls for these simplistic binaries Trump vs. Media and Trump vs. Clinton is being played for a sucker. You don't think that Trump is cozy with the nation's power elites, whether in media or politics? Dream on.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I hope they keep covering Trump, every attack makes him stronger. A man of action in a field of spineless jellyfish is a superman. Americans are sick and tired of the PC squishy victimized idiots with no record of accomplishment being selected to lead and solve problems then whine away telling everyone how hard it is to solve the problems that they were elected to fix. Potentially his victory could reset the bar for political leadership high up in Reagan territory again.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

high up in Reagan territory again.

Oh, like selling weapons to Iran to give money to the contras in Nicaragua which was illegal. Is that the high territory you mean? Reagan, after Bush Junior, was the worst President of modern times. Besides he was senile for most of his second term, Nancy ran the country then along with her astrologist.

Trump ,may be a corporate capitalist and cozy with the power elite but he isn't taking their money to run. So right now he is close to the only candidate taking about America for Americans and putting the welfare of regular people above alien criminals.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Lizz, Alien Criminals much like those who "discovered" America?

What on Earth are you talking about? Let's just put that lunacy rhetoric aside for one second. Obama couldn't even get done half ot the things Reagan accomplished. He never negotiated from a position of weakness, even when Ted Kennedy tried to sabotage his negotiations with Gorbachev, he walked away without compromising on his principles. Unemployment was low, job creation was up. How about now with Blacks having the highest unemployment record and over 10% the first Black president who is the savior didn't do jack for the Blacks, Hispanics, but increased the entitlement culture, but yeah, I keep forgetting libs love and can't part with entitlements. If you don't want to work, let's just sponge more off the people and the government.

"After filing through security, Trump was escorted to a front-row seat in a juror waiting room to fill out a questionnaire about biographical basics, hobbies, experiences with crime and the courts, and occupation. Trump said he listed real estate, “only because I refuse to say ‘politician.’”

This is one of the reasons why Trump is the Republican front-runner.

"Donald Trump pulled up in a long black limousine and gave a very presidential wave as he made his way into the building."

If Hillary implodes ( not likely, but you never know ) ... it just might be ... President Trump! OMG!

bass4funk AUG. 18, 2015 - 02:05PM JST Obama couldn't even get done half of the things Reagan accomplished. He never negotiated from a position of weakness, even when Ted Kennedy tried to sabotage his negotiations with Gorbachev, he walked away without compromising on his principles.

Perhaps Obama’s least-heralded achievement was his effort to prepare the country for its future as a genuinely multiethnic and multicultural society. People of color will soon outnumber white Americans, religious diversity continues to grow, and differences in sexual orientation are increasingly accepted. Obama’s presidency may one day be seen as a watershed in the construction of a genuinely “rainbow” America.

It is too soon to say right now what will come of Obama’s “pivot” or rebalancing of American foreign policy to Asia, but for sure, historians will see that during Obama’s administration, the old China policies of the past four decades were quietly, gradually put to rest.

Back on topic please. The subject is Donald Trump.

It's a fun story because of the timing, but that's about it.

Lizz: and putting the welfare of regular people above alien criminals.

What kind of world do you live in that takes comments like this seriously? Trumpland?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

@super, Lizz make valid points. Look at the Planed Parenthood videos. PP supporters don't have humanity in mind when they are viewed. And it seems illegals get away with crimes that would have most of U.S. citizens locked up. It's not Trumpland, it's pushing agendas most don't want.

Trump showed for jury duty and was dismissed. Five times before he didn't bother with his legal obligation, (see article). Earlier posts also documented Trump didn't bother to show up for his legal obligation to report for military service during Vietnam, without any explanation.

Ordinary Americans, Parents of those lost in battle, Veterans and current Service Members, of course, reject that kind of arrogance. But who is Trump willing to fight for?

"Trump, who is currently in poll position for the Republican presidential nomination, is proposing draconian changes to the U.S. tax code that would gut the federal budget, send deficits skyrocketing, and drive up the price you’d have to pay for everything from coffee to iPhones. . . . these changes would save his own family an estimated $2 billion or more — probably much more — in taxes."

Those who will kill the messenger are the same folks who want to send other people's sons and daughters, fathers and mothers off to die in another war in the Middle East. Trump among them, of course. Meanwhile, safe in his fantasy island reality, Trump unfurls his Patriotism with a plan to line his pockets with billions.

One thing's for sure. The GOP-Tea never tires of slashing the throats of ordinary Americans to make a few bucks for themselves. (See: AWOL Bush Administration, 2000-2008) Maybe that's where ISIS got the idea from?

Obviously, Trump is ready to follow in the trenches of deceit AWOL Bush dug. Americans will soon judge Trump and the over whelming decision of that jury will be GUILTY on all charges.

Reagan, after Bush Junior, was the worst President of modern times. Nope He was the best! He only fell short by not returning America to a gold standard and shutting down the Fed. But wait Trump is coming and the work is cut out for him. He can become the most popular President just by undoing all the Whacky Democrat-Progressive-Communist-Socialist agenda.

There's another vote for America as Trump's Hooverville. It's nice to read that Trump is the Messiah, at leaste it's something Trump and the commenter agree on.

That, and of course sending thousands to their deaths in another war bases on lies to make a handy profit for Trump's Corpo-rat pals. Gee, who did that the last time the GOP-Tea swindled their way into the White House? Oh yeah, AWOL Bush. Another sound choice from the stink fishes. Another slice of yellow cake anyone?
