Nice words. But the next shooting will be along shortly.

Last summer, he tweeted out a doctored WWE professional wrestling video clip that depicted him tackling and pummeling an opponent whose head had been covered by a superimposed CNN logo. He added the hashtags "#FraudNewsCNN" and "#FNN."

His Twitter account itself is a swamp of trash, idiocy, childishness, grandstanding, fake news, non-existent sex tapes and dodgy racist videos. It stinks.

Serious people don’t behave like this. This is a serious issue requiring a serious mind. This man is sick joke.

"Journalists, like all Americans, should be free from the fear of being violently attacked while doing their job,"

Yes, they should be. But they aren't. Gee, I wonder why? Could it be a society awash in guns and a president constantly insulting the free press have anything to do with it...?

How is he a joke? What’s he supposed to do? I think the left is so ignorant when it comes to emotional outbursts whining about something they can’t change.

-22 ( +3 / -25 )

What’s he supposed to do?

Something I learned about hour 1 at West Point... lead by example. So what he could do is not engage in petty name calling, threatening people, dog whistling, or telling people "I hope someone knocks the crap out of them"... and then acting sad with big, fake crocodile tears when someone actually engages in such behavior.

He could own up to his own comments, mistakes, and failures to be an actual leader...

but he won't.

He could own up to his own comments, mistakes, and failures to be an actual leader...

but he won't.

Name me a President that has done that?

He could own up to his own comments, mistakes, and failures to be an actual leader...

Name me a President that has done that?

Name me a president that has ever said anything as incendiary as this:

The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!

17 ( +19 / -2 )

@bas4 Name me a President that has done that?

It's good to see even Trump's followers can't defend him on this.

@jacj Name me a president that has ever said anything as incendiary as this:

Of the US? I can't think of one. But I can think of many leaders, especially some from the 1930's, who used similar language.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Behave with some class and dignity. Not retweeting brainless trash he finds on the net would be a start.

You know, dodgy racist videos, lavatorial conspiracy theories, bonehead fake news memes. That kind of thing.

Just normal, adult behaviour.

15 ( +16 / -1 )

But he won't pass any law to stop gun violence.

"President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly denounced the press as "the enemy of the American people,"

Words have consequences. They should be chosen with care, especially by the President of the United States.  You never know what madman might be listening and nodding in agreement.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Pretty much on the mark, when you have every liberal network desperately trying to find anything negative to talk about this President regardless what it is, that is indeed incendiary and the President is right. Nothing wrong to criticize the President, but when every poll shows complete negative bias.

t's good to see even Trump's followers can't defend him on this.

I'm sorry, defend him on what? He did something?

Of the US? I can't think of one.

That's exactly what I thought.

Behave with some class and dignity. Not retweeting brainless trash he finds on the net would be a start.

Please tell the left that, but No, I think he behaves fine, there is no reason why the President who is human has to allow idiots on the left either try to define him or criticize him unfairly without a fight, that was one problem I had with Bush, he let the left define him, allowed them to punch him and never fought back, disgusting and at least this President fights back and when liberals get in an uproar about it, then I know he did an outstanding job. Lol

You know, dodgy racist videos, lavatorial conspiracy theories, bonehead fake news memes. That kind of thing.

Oh, dear then I guess you really have a disdain for the left, you know the proprietors of scandalous garbage.

Can I get a period in aisle 5. Word salad desperately in need of adjustment. How so many of you engage this kind of garbled stream of consciousness for hours of your day.

"Thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families."

Trump and all in government who oppose tougher gun restriction laws should just clipboard this quote and use it every few weeks when there's another massacre.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Gun control is labeled liberal. Slaughtered people are labeled as?.....collateral damage because the last thing a republican wants is any responsibility for protecting an industry who's soul purpose is selling as many guns as possible, children cut down, hey it's a mental health issue has nothing to do at all with the availability of guns. We still get our money for the next election although there are not so many voters...they appear to have been shot.

Comparing the comments of Trudeau and Trump only the self-deluded can avoid the conclusion that the orange Trashmeister's presidential library need be no larger than a toilet to house his tone-deaf gibbering and twittering, especially since the imminent Trumpocalypse will be coming to our screens soon courtesy of Robert Mueller putting an end to another shameful chapter in the history of Amerika written by right-wing shyster propagandists.

Stop putting out fake news and people wont call you fake news. Latest poll was that more than 70 percent of Americans believe the media puts out news that they know is false or misleading.

More than 70% of Americans can't tell the difference between a fact and an opinion either. IMO Trump is probably one of them.

Trudeau's comments, made in sympathy towards a country who's leader has done nothing but villify him out of a sense of pure insecurity and selfishness, made the comments of a true leader. Trump made the generic comments of someone reading another's speech, without addressing freedom of speech, and still in support of the weapons that allowed the man to do what he did with so much damage and loss of life. Trump's words are the words of someone who does not care, and no doubt his tweets will show his true character shortly; decrying the media and blaming the victims, while talking about his perceived victories in spite of being the victim himself (according to himself alone).

So that many liberals have problems with distinguishing the facts, I knew it! I knew it!

American school teachers are leaving their profession in the thousands. No pay increases for ten years. Spending cutbacks even on essential items like text books. Ever larger classes. Teachers having to work four or five jobs to pay their bills. They are asking for a $10,000 pay increase over five years. More funding for crumpling education system. These kids are the future of the country, Mr President.

What are the teachers unions doing with all that money!??? No wonder the SC voted that employees don't have to pay dues to the union mafia. What a waste and what an embarrassment!

ROFL! Apparently, you don't know the history of that family.

Amazing how you lefties can see someone's heart. Heck, I can save money on a fortune teller, I should just go to the JT liberals for the truth on how people feel.

Which he is, not taking anything from the people that died so senseless, but if anyone is to blame it's the MSM. The paper is a local paper, and covers local news, not really so much the nation, they really don't want to get involved in Washington's mess and what do the liberal loons on CNN do, take the opportunity to pull this to their breast to blame Trump when this story (if liberals take the time to actually read it) has zero to do with Trump.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Trump has built his career on outlandish conspiracy theories, made-up stories, self-aggrandizement, bullying, and insults.

And that's what his base loves about him. He's a trash talker, which appeals to those who feel aggrieved by the state of the world, who want to find scapegoats that are unlike themselves, and who are unable to articulate a cogent vision for a better world. Just have a look at bass' posts, which almost exclusively boil down to the infantile "what about the left" argument.

It's all about blaming immigrants, Muslims, liberals, lefties, elitists, globalists, establishment deep state, black football players, poor people, and especially the press. Trump labels journalists as the enemy of the people because they speak truth to his abuse of power.

Trump utters provocation, the press reports it, and Trump's loyal base comes pouncing on the media for trying to "take down" their hero.

Who knows whether this shooter in Maryland was inspired by Trump's hatred of the press, but it's pretty clear that Trump's biggest accomplishment as president has been the destruction of civil discourse.

Abolish the liberal media

There you have it. Fascism.

And BTW, the so-called "liberal" media is far less focused on Trump's hair than the alt-right media was focused on Obama's birthplace (i.e. skin color).

7 ( +7 / -0 )

The media is letting the people down. Sad!

Abolish the liberal media

I usually cringe when people start throwing the word ‘fascist’ around but that idea is very disturbing.

I don’t think your employer, the Washington Post, should be abolished. It’s a decent paper.

He's not perfect, so what's the medias excuse?

Liberals shocked by Trump's trash talk. Need I remind you of all the trash talking liberals do with the help of the media and Hollywood.

It's all about blaming immigrants, Muslims, liberals, lefties, elitists, globalists, establishment deep state, black football players, poor people, and especially the press.

Maybe they shouldn't be doing things that would cast them in a bad light.

Trump labels journalists as the enemy of the people because they speak truth to his abuse of power.

Ohhh, so that's why so many of them had to do retractions and were called on time and time again about their lies. I have a long list. Truth has every right to defend himself and talk trash, I would too, just because CNN and msnbc finally, finally found their audience in the Trump opposition crowd? I know dollar revenue means a lot in the media business, but these guys have a long way to go before they see catch up, maybe when they tell the truth they can get to FNC numbers....maybe.

Trump utters provocation, the press reports it, and Trump's loyal base comes pouncing on the media for trying to "take down" their hero.

Of course, when they lie and now they are trying to outdo each other (too funny) they get caught every single time.

Who knows whether this shooter in Maryland was inspired by Trump's hatred of the press, but it's pretty clear that Trump's biggest accomplishment as president has been the destruction of civil discourse.

What a bunch of garbage, the shooter had a beef with them for years before Trump came on the scene. LOL

Yeah, keep trying, even now that lie the media is spinning is already slowly unraveling. Oh, the left never, never learn.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

@bas4 You know the MSM is too focused on Trump's hair.

With the exception of White House 'news' outlets like those owned by Rupert Murdoch, Putin, Alex Jones and others, I've actually read media reports indicating Trump, members of his family and those close to them might have had unethical, even illegal dealings with 'foreign' governments; that Trump, members of his family and those close to them might have been involved in money laundering and other crimes; that Trump and his family have used the White House to increase their wealth. I've also read about Trump hiring his own family members, i.e. nepotism. I've read the media reports about the many lies he's told. I've read media reports about his personal attacks on the media outlets that don't report things to his liking. I've read about Trump wasting taxpayer money golfing and then having the nerve to profit financially from it.

And I have read he might dye some of his hair, both the real and the fake.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

As usual, no actions and no solutions. Resist and persist ... and REBEL.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Truth has every right to defend himself and talk trash, I would too, just because CNN and msnbc finally, finally found their audience in the Trump opposition crowd

I think you mean Trump, not truth.

This is a chicken and egg question with a clear answer. Trump inflames. The press reports it. Trump vilifies the press. Repeat ad nauseam.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

So that many liberals have problems with distinguishing the facts, I knew it! I knew it!

And yet again the is evidence that those on the right not only cannot distinguish fact from opinion but also do not understand either fact or opinion that is presented to them. Either that or come November, Trump is in real trouble.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

He's not perfect, so what's the medias excuse?

Neither are the media. Why do you give Trump a pass on that and not the media?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I think you mean Trump, not truth.

Typo, sorry

This is a chicken and egg question with a clear answer. Trump inflames. The press reports it.

Press gets it 99% wrong and more than often have to give a retraction

Trump vilifies the press.

Trump goes after press, press gets steamed up.

Repeat ad nauseam

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Press gets it 99% wrong and more than often have to give a retraction

99% is a lie... But whatever... at least when the press gets it wrong they have enough courtesy and respect for the people to make the amendments or retractions. Trump NEVER does. He doesn't respect you, he doesn't respect Americans, he doesn't respect America.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

99% is a lie... But whatever... at least when the press gets it wrong they have enough courtesy and respect for the people to make the amendments or retractions.

Begrudgingly, kicking and screaming, yes, they do.

Trump NEVER does.

He’s from Queens, what do you expect?

He doesn't respect you, he doesn't respect Americans, he doesn't respect America.

No, if he didn’t respect Americans and America, he wouldn’t be doing this job. Why would anyone want to do that kind of job and go through what this guy is going through on a daily basis when he could make more money and have less stress?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Why would anyone want to do that kind of job and go through what this guy is going through on a daily basis when he could make more money and have less stress?

Because he’s an egomaniac. He loves attention.
