Trump of all people should be the last person to be talking about "heritage", his family were immigrants! At least if Warren has native American blood in her, she is in a better position to be talking about getting rid of "immigrants" like him!

By reverting to the bigoted language of his candidacy, Trump seems to be trying to reconnect with his followers who've become disappointed because he's flip flopped all about and carried out so few of his campaign promises.

Using schoolyard bullying and name calling tactics appeals to the basest of his base and also detracts from the ineptitude, nepotism and conflicts of interest that have marked his first 100 days.

His base will remain loyal to him as long as he ramps up the US military presence worldwide and does what he can to ensure they'll have the freedumb to buy more and even bigger guns.

classy guy this Trump fellow - real classy.... NOT

Coward. You talk big until you are face to face with people then you go limp and flaccid and quiet. It has happened time and time again. Coward. Mrs. Warren is tougher than you can ever hope to be.

It looks like, at the 100-days mark, Trump is regretting becoming president. In an interview he says '*I loved my previous life, I had so many things going, I - actually, this is more work than my previous life. I thought it would be easier. I thought it was more of a...I'm a details oriented person, I think you would say that, but I do miss my old life, I like to work so that's not a problem, but this is actually more work.*'

duh.

I don't think he'll last 4 years. If he isn't impeached, he'll 'get sick'. (Are presidents allowed to just resign? If so, he might do that.)

Are presidents allowed to just resign?

I don't see how they could stop him. If he just says 'I'm not going to work anymore', then they either find a new president, or the country moves along without a rudder.

...not that that would be a change from the current situation.

Seems pretty tacky, but, it's Trump, so it's par for the course. At least he's not sexually assualting her like he does to other women, so there's that.

Native American leaders have called Trump's attacks on Warren offensive and distasteful.

When you have a  Republican party that's 89% white, this is what you get at their speeches.

Are presidents allowed to just resign?

He'll most likely wait until he's paid off or effectively hidden his debts to oligarchs everywhere and has ensured his businesses have the connections they need to expand as well as the tax breaks they need to get even richer.

His age and limited reasoning skills have caught up with him. (Didn't even take 100 days.)

The US and the world are now at greater risk because of his narcissism and because of his benighted supporters who actually thought he was serious about helping them and that leopards could change spots.

Love it. All Trump has to do is pass wind and the left wing lose their minds.

Love it. All Trump has to do is pass wind and the left wing lose their minds.

Right! He says something racist, and the left gets all out of whack. Get with it left! Racism is ok now.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

That's why they elected him. No wall? OK. No China currency manipulation? OK. No scrapping of NAFTA? OK. No ISIS plan in 30 days? OK. North Korea still acting up? OK. Obamacare in place? OK.

But golly, he sure did put a nice little (racist) zinger at Warren. That's worth the vote of the average Trump supporter.

If he'd blow his rancid air out of the right end, it would be less offensive.

Love what? Childish, trashy insults?

.

.

How is that racist? He belittled her very silly claim to be native-American. Get with it left! You can't mindlessly throw around terms like "racist" at will and be taken seriously.

Love what? Childish, trashy insults?

.

No, just the childish reactions the constantly outraged always supply

How is that racist? He belittled her very silly claim to be native-American.

It's ok, racism is legit now! Calling a native America Pocahontas is entirely legit.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Again, only the constantly outraged would call this racism.

Lily-white Warren is as Native-American as a cigar-store Indian. But she wants the immediate gravitas that something like that would bring her. Like the infamous lily-white duo of Shaun King and Rachel Dolezal, she's nothing but a race-baiting hustler and Trump knows it.

She wants to be Pocohontas but she doesn't get to be.

Now cue the outrage!

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Hah, nice attempt at trying to pretend that there is nothing racist about using the name 'Pocohontas' as a reference to native Americans.

Whether or not she is actually Native is irrelevant to that slur.

But hey, the president has legitimized racism! It's all good now!

As a non-American, the only thing I want from Trump is to enact pro-growth, business friendly policies.

But I don't see that his childish mocking her claim to have some indigenous blood in her is racist. Childish yes, but not racist.

Racism should be decried at every opportunity to buy claim that this is racism is to belittle true racism.

Just a non-American viewpoint.

I don't see that his childish mocking her claim to have some indigenous blood in her is racist.

Mocking such a claim would isn't racist (though definitely childish). It's referring to native Americans as Pocahontas that is racist.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Well, we already know the guys a sexual predator who assaults women and brags about it, and we know he's a bigot besides. Why should this further example of racism surprise anyone?

And Cleo's right, the man regrets becoming president -- he already cried about it the other day saying how hard it was and wanting a pity pat.

I don't think to call Liz Warren "Pochahantas" is racist, funny perhaps, but she has herself to blame for that. She claimed to be something that she wasn't and the fact that she constantly makes personal jokes about Trump is acceptable. You have two White people insulting each other. Personally, if I were the president, I would just ignore her and the other liberal nutjobs, but Trump is no ordinary politician and he's the kind of person, you punch him, he'll punch you harder.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

I don't think to call Liz Warren "Pochahantas" is racist

But referring to native Americans as Pocahontas, whether she is native or not, is racist.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

It's referring to native Americans as Pocahontas that is racist.

As far as this non-American could fathom, he was not calling her Pocahontas because she is a native American, but because he disputes that she is a native American.

It strikes me as sarcasm.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

As far as this non-American could fathom, he was not calling her Pocahontas because she is a native American, but because he disputes that she is a native American.

And in focusing on her claim of native Americanism, he refers to native Americans as 'Pocahontas'.

Again, the racism doesn't come from his disputing her claim, it comes from his manner of referring to Native Americans. So it doesn't matter why he's calling her the name, it's the name he's calling her that matters.

Trump mocked Warren repeatedly during the presidential campaign for claims she made about being part Native American.

> During that campaign, law school directories from the Association of American Law Schools from 1986 to 1995 surfaced that put Warren on the association's list of "minority law teachers" when she was teaching at the University of Texas and the University of Pennsylvania. Warren said she listed herself with Native American heritage because she hoped to meet people with similar roots.

Warren lied about having Native American roots. She used that lie to gain an advantage given to minorities. Some people seem to think what she did was acceptable/excusable, but object to Trump's reminding people that Warren falsified her record for personal gain.

Strangerland -  I don't see that his childish mocking her claim to have some indigenous blood in her is racist.

Mocking such a claim would isn't racist (though definitely childish). It's referring to native Americans as Pocahontas that is racist.

Trump referred to Warren as Pocahontas. Since Warren is not native American, as she claimed she was, Trump did not refer to native Americans as Pocahontas.
