Trump, who has branded Assad "a butcher", said it was up to the Syrian people to decide,

If it is up to the Syrian people to decide, why is the US involved there trying to influence the outcome?

So what were those Tomahawks really about?

Distracting the people from his horrible ratings, and messed up things like the fact that Pence was using a public email server, his NSA selection was busted talking with the Russians, and the fact that he's been shoring up the swamp and filling it with pollution.

Did it work? Have his ratings gone up?

He's mostly making it up as he goes along. Should be fun.

"...whether he stays or he leaves is not important."

Okay, so, when Trump's Foreign Affairs Minister said Assad could stay, which the wingers were against until just before, Assad launched the chemical attack. Then, the wingers, and Trump included, were against Assad staying, and he was a butcher who used, in Spicer's words, "chemical weapons, which even Hitler didn't use", and who had to be put out at all costs. Now, it's back to the "maybe he can stay", or worse yet, suddenly "doesn't matter" if the BUTCHER stays or not.

I'd say he's gone 180 again, but after so many times of going 180 he's gone full circle more times than the earth has gone around in his 100 days in office (with the last popularity of any president in history, which infuriates him).

He enforced Obama's Red Line and good on him, at least the man has a spine. Assad does it again, things will get worse for the guy.

How so? He's once again saying the US will allow Assad to stay. All he did was waste millions of tax-payer's dollars on an attack that saw the place up and running again in less than 24 hours and that killed some children, and all to deflect from the scandal with Russia. Or do you honestly believe Trump cares one wit about the children he would ban from coming into the nation (before killing them with Tomahawks)?

"Assad does it again, things will get worse for the guy."

Not surprised you're going 180, too. Weren't you calling for his head just last week?
