there is no right to free speech in this world as long as it conflicts with and runs contrary to those in power

I thought the constitution of the United States was pretty clear in stating the opposite.

Not that Trump cares about the constitution though....

Werent they one of the papers who looked into Donald's mythical donation to veterans groups? Revenge?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Trump has a point! The Washington Post has gone overboard on this one. The Washington Post should realize that there is no right to free speech in this world as long as it conflicts with and runs contrary to those in power which Trump surely will be.....

Poll ... Trump is slipping. against Clinton. Now Clinton is 7 points up.

Trump wrote on his Facebook page, “Based on the incredibly inaccurate coverage and reporting of the record setting Trump campaign, we are hereby revoking the press credentials of the phony and dishonest Washington Post.”

The international reader must remember one very important point.

The Washington Post filed a Freedom of Information Request to the California Federal Judge to release public documents that provided the blueprint of Donald J. Trump's fraudulent "Trump University".

Trump has now acted as any Dictator would.

Outlawed the news source that pursued the Public Documents.

Those Public documents that show the forty million dollar damages Trump faces for fraud are based on factual evidence the Attorney General of New York and a California Federal Judge (Trump attacked the Federal Judge for his Mexican Heritage) are making available for the Public to read and understand Donald J. Trump's creation that robbed five thousand American Citizens of their savings, hope and trust.

Washington Post did publish the new DNC hack -so they are not that bad. Still a very Lib (Republican + Democrat) slanted news source publicizing the anti-Russian political agenda.

https://www.crowdstrike.com/blog/bears-midst-intrusion-democratic-national-committee/ (Explains DNC hack)

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/russian-government-hackers-penetrated-dnc-stole-opposition-research-on-trump/2016/06/14/cf006cb4-316e-11e6-8ff7-7b6c1998b7a0_story.html (Washington Post story laced with html tracker) sorry for the long link -couldn't get around it -Bbz

Kelly of post explained Post vollantarilly changed headline. It seems Post rushed to publish. Competition is tough in publishing industry somthis kind of unintended goofing occur often now.

Interesting how so many claim TWP is posting lies, but can't actually show what lies they supposedly posted.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Newspapers should report facts, not stories they make up to fit their views.

You're right. Good thing they quoted Don the Con to show he said exactly what they said he said.

Freedom of speech in USA does not include publishing lies,

See above. They don't need to publish lies - Don the Con posts enough crazy stuff that making something up would be stupid.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump is right when he says the mainstream establishment press, especially Clinton News Network, is "unbelievably dishonest."

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

If all the news sources would do this, he'd lose out on his free publicity, which would hurt him way more than help him

You must be new to this site. Check the click bait that is generated here every time a headline that includes his name is posted.

Considering Mr. Trump has owned just about every U.S. political news cycle since he announced is candidacy last year, doubt a moratorium of covering him is going to happen anytime soon. Though they won't admit it, the guy is a cash cow for the U.S. MSM. . . .

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

If a large portion of the electorate read the WaPo, they would not be in financial trouble. I doubt if it is any big loss especially since their product is mostly fiction and fantasy. Newspapers should report facts, not stories they make up to fit their views.

Do liberals acknowledge how Hillary solves the press problem by not talking with them, or, recall when she had them roped in, literally, to keep them away from her?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Good on the Washington Post for sticking to their guns. At least we know one news organization will be reporting the truth, and will not be acceding to Don the Con's thin-skin in order to be able to attend his clan gatherings.

If all the news sources would do this, he'd lose out on his free publicity, which would hurt him way more than help him. He's bluffing with this - he needs the news more than the news needs him. The Washington Post has just called his bluff.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

U.S. liberals -- both inside and outside the MSM -- have got to be high-giving themselves today knowing that Mr. Trump will have one less "news organization" covering his presidential campaign up close and personal.

Press credentials are a privilege, not a right.

True dat. It looks like The WP will have to go the route of this site over there in Japan: Copying and pasting articles from other sources about Mr. Trump. Perhaps they should think about renaming themselves "The Washington Compost Today". . . .

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

If the GOP presidential nominee takes away the credentials of every news source that dares to tell the truth about him, pretty soon there won't be anyone left to give him free publicity.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Post editor Martin Baron said Trump’s decision to revoke the paper’s press credentials “is nothing less than a repudiation of the role of a free and independent press.”

The Washington Post long has been neither free nor independent and now is nothing more than Clinton's mouthpiece parading in newspaper clothing. When they changed their headlines on the story, it certainly appears they knew they were misleading the public about Trump's comments.

His action also doesn't prevent the Washington Post from covering him, it will just force the paper to do so from a distance. Press credentials are a privilege, not a right. And his action certainly won't reduce the volume of coverage.

As a side note, it's deja vu all over again, because in 2009, President Obama went to war with fox news. Are the liberals here invoking selective memory or hypocrisy?

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

The Washington Post is part of the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party pretending to be a news organization. Not having access to Mr. Trump hurts them more (I.e., lost $$$ in ad revenue) than it will hurt him.

As a registered independent voter, I say bravo to Mr. Trump for standing up to the DNC cabal. . . .

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Does anyone really think that would even bother holding press conferences if he was president? But it's worse than that. Think of the team he would bring in. That's the real horror show. The deregulators. Goodbye assistance. Congress is bad enough, except for a good guy from Minnesota.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

The guy who says Obama was born in Kenya and refers to his rivals with monikers like lying and crooked has the gall to complain about something as trivial as this? He really is pathetic.

He can dish it, but he can't dig it. Thin-skinned Don the Con.

If the press lies they should be reprimanded. Freedom of the press doesn`t include lying or twisting a story.

Good thing they don't need to - his own words damn him.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Trump never said no such thing about Obama.

Wc, I completely agree but only because your use of the double-negative. Let us consider his Tweet:

Obama doesn’t get it, or he gets it better than anybody understands. It’s one or the other. And either one is unacceptable. ... We are led by a man who is either not tough, not smart, or he has something else in mind. And the something else in mind, people can’t believe it.

C'mon, Wc, you don't need to be Fellini to figure out what this means. Trump is clearly suggesting that Obama is either a weak fool or quite complicit. You can agree or disagree with Trump's allusion (though the record number of deportations and drone strikes on "radical Islam" targets would lead one to defer to the latter), but to pretend it was an accidental phrasing or simple misinterpretation is simply wrong.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump uses an Alice-in-Wonderland edition dictionary that makes words mean what he says they mean, and defines "freedom of speech" as the right of people to agree with and/or flatter him.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

So does this Trump actually have a chance of being elected president of the USA. Just a Japanese asking from Japan. I know there is a kind of warped image you get (in this case, of the USA) when you only have the presentation through media.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

For the uninformed reader the Washington Post is owned by Jeff Bezos the founder of Amazon. Jeff hates Mr. Trump since he wants to implement a sales tax on internet purchases which would greatly effect Jeff's profit. Whether you are for or against said tax, Bezos is using the WPo to attack Mr. Trump on every issue.

Hope more press gets the notion that they don't have to back down to a bully.

Donald Drumpf is an emanation of Homo Americanus of the worst ilk, a Frankenstein monster created by the right-wing GOP teabaggers who will blindly follow the " Orange-Pied Trumpeter" until they all disappear up the black-hole of DJ Trumpism in November. The service rendered to the evolution of American democracy will be the installment of a chicken-hawk president whose bankrupt ideology and corruption might result in the termination of the rule of the political dinosaurs who have been ruthlessly stomping all over the people since Nixon thereby opening the way for her more democratically evolved successor to inaugurate another "New Deal" for the American people. Quien sabe?

Donald J. Trump has proved, 'when selling a dung pile, never mention the stench'.

That's what they taught at "Trump University".

Funny, why is Trump being prosecuted for forty million dollars?

When the press mentions the stench the lesson from "Trump University" was pursue a racist claim against a Federal Judge.

Why the liberal press doesn't get this is why they should all be banned until Donald J. Trump decides what they should know and when they should know it.

That's why Trump is the Republican candidate for President, heritage.

Trump's comments on Obama regarding Orlando:

"Look, we're led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he's got something else in mind," Trump said in a lengthy interview on Fox News early Monday morning. "And the something else in mind — you know, people can't believe it. People cannot, they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the way he acts and can't even mention the words 'radical Islamic terrorism.' There's something going on. It's inconceivable. There's something going on."

And:

"He doesn't get it or he gets it better than anybody understands — it's one or the other, and either one is unacceptable."

He's definitely suggesting something about Obama, and it really sounds like he's suggesting that Obama knew more or had more to do with this attack than he's letting on. So what exactly was he suggesting?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Donald J. Trump's war on the First Amendment begins here.

Yeah . . . I would too. If that organization is going to print falsehoods and put words in Trump's mouth.

He writes that he’s “no fan of” President Barack Obama, but faults the Post for a headline posted Monday that he says read, “Donald Trump suggests President Obama was involved with Orlando shooting.”

Trump never said no such thing about Obama. The WP has gone mad, they really have.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Trump really does take things too far. And I love his comment "Based on the incredibly inaccurate coverage and reporting of the record setting Trump campaign". Couldn't help but give himself a narcissistic pat on the back even in this situation, could he?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Setting the global standard for weird, tiny hands.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Total nonsense. The Constitutional rights of the Washington Post have not been violated. They still can (and do) write whatever they want. . . .

"Freedom of speech, just watch what you say"

Banning the press.

"The Post is trash lefty paper that consistently lies and writes false statements about Trump" - comments

That's what Trump has been saying on FOXNews since he began the 'birther' racism back in 2011.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Americans are deluding themselves into thinking they are in control of their political system. Ultimately the election in November will be decided at the whim of an amoral Australian media mogul who manipulates US politics to his liking.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Trump is the next president as it was decided.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

About time. The Post is trash lefty paper that consistently lies and writes false statements about Trump. Free press is fine but you can`t lie.

"That is an awful lot of ignorant, profoundly misguided people, and their delusions are perhaps as frightening as he." - comments

For the international reader, please remember, Donald J. Trump began the marketing of hate in 2011 with his 'birther' campaign against the skin color of the sitting President.

Donald J. Trump test marketed hate with the aid of FOXNews call-ins and decided Trump was in clover making hate the corner stone of his campaign to "Make America Hate Again".

That is why Trump is attacking the First Amendment. The truth will send him to jail.

(see: "Trump University." theft of millions from American Citizens fought with Racism Against a Federal Judge)

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Typical fascist move. Silence the criticism.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I don't know what is scarier: the man himself or the tens of millions who feel he is the only person qualified to lead this nation. That is an awful lot of ignorant, profoundly misguided people, and their delusions are perhaps as frightening as he. I really didn't think the United States would face an existential crisis during my lifetime. Boy, was I wrong.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Trump said in an interview on Fox News Channel Monday morning that . . .

FOXNews: all the propaganda fit to pay for

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Funny thing here, BLM and other liberal groups are the ones suppressing the first ammendment. Trump allows interview with the spectrum of media, even MSNBC! Hillary limits the outlets she will give an interview too.

It's hard to imagine the blindness of presumably sighted people's in seeing reality.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

When coverage doesn’t correspond to what the candidate wants it to be, then a news organization is banished. The Post will continue to cover Donald Trump as it has all along - honorably, honestly, accurately, energetically, and unflinchingly. We’re proud of our coverage, and we’re going to keep at it. - Post editor Martin Baron

Because this isn't about some rich kid sent to military school for discipline problems by parents who gave up on him.

This is about a mentally unstable racist bent on destruction to gain the Office of President of the United States of America.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

This is the second time we have asked you to please tone down your rhetoric. It is inflammatory.

We'll see if he doubles-down on those traitorous comments or decides lashing out at one of America's most respected news outlets is enough. The man is unhinged.

Donald J. Trump, the decider in chief.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

This is just a foreshadowing of what is to come if he becomes president. Anytime anyone reports anything that he doesn't like, he'll cut off their press credentials. Not so different as to what Japan does with their kisha clubs - and look how poorly Japan ranks in press freedom. Eventually, if the press want to be able to report first-hand news, they'll have to learn not to pierce his thin skin.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Trump’s campaign has revoked credentials from other news outlets including The Daily Beast, Politico and the Des Moines Register.

Donald J. Trump has decided only Donald J. Trump will allow what is printed, what is reported and what he says after he decides what he said that serves his purpose of racism, bigotry and religious prejudice.

Donald J. Trump will drag the GOP-tea into the sink hole of hate Trump has created with his racist, bigotry and religious prejudice. Say good-bye to the House of Representatives and the Senate. The GOP-tea has their fascist dictator and Americans will have none of it.

7 ( +12 / -5 )

Is it time for one of Donald's smacked arse sulk faces?

Grow up you trash-talking, spoiled brat. You are pathetic.
