Even if he said he'd burn them at the stake his radical followers would support him.

Just look at the insanities coming from the mouth of the racist Republican governer of Maine. Emboldened by Trump's insane candidacy....

4 ( +7 / -3 )

How does he plan on enforcing visa expiration dates? We already have a system whereby once marked as overstayed you can't enter the US again for x number of years. Is there a better deterent?

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Anyone who thinks this man has the mentality to occupy the Oval Office is as nuts as he is.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Trump seems to be getting a lot of his ideas on immigration from Chris Christie and Christie is big on biometrics as a tracking tool, especially fingerprint technology. And border agents are already conducting those field trials I believe. But that would only seem to work if someone with an expired visa wanted to rent a car or take a flight (?), there needs to be additionally measures to prevent them from settling down permanently.

Simple: Tag all visitors to the US with those hypodermic RFID chips used with pets. I'm sure they won't mind.

But then you'd need a special reader to be able to get their info. Better to tattoo serial numbers on their forearms.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Better to tattoo serial numbers on their forearms.

Good idea. And make them wear a recognisable symbol pinned to their chest at all times. Perhaps a star.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Homeland Security could contract with Haliburt to set up RFID scanners randomly across the US to passively monitor these people. It would probably only cost a few hundred billion - cheaper than the wall.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Save billions by storing the personal data on actual chips, ya know tortilla or potato. Those taste a lot better when hunger pangs set in. Collect enough chips and you can upgrade to Trump Tower taco salad.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Cheaper yet would be to use the existing police forces to profile suspected illegals by their appearance and then demand to see their papers. It works in Japan, why not the US.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I'm still waiting for his wife's documentation.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

I think he could win. Going to be another big round of emailgate hit just before the election which might be enough to get him over the line against Hillary. Its a terrifying thought. Hope governments around the world are ready for the avalanche of U.S immigrants on their doorstep lol.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Cheaper yet would be to use the existing police forces to profile suspected illegals by their appearance and then demand to see their papers. It works in Japan, why not the US.

Because Democrats pushed to have profiling stopped and add to that the sanctuary cities where illegals don't have to cooperate with law enforcement you won't get very far at all and because of this, there is NO real way to control illegal immigration.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

@kuya, that invasive tactic needs to be coupled with a raid on bicycle parking.

Whatever you do, don't let them insert Doritos chips into any body opening. Those taste terrible. The chips lightly dusted with guacamole powder are not bad and can be accepted as a trade off for personal freedom if you really have the munchies.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

whats this moron going to do put ankle braclets on every foreigner that enters the US. If somebody doesn't want to be found there's very little the authorities can do. maybe they can stop every foreigner on the street and ask to se their papers, or raid peoples home to search for illegals. Seriously if your voting for Trump just because you dont like Clinton your a fool, better just dont vote at all!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

if your voting for Trump just because you don't like Clinton your a fool, better just dont vote at all!

One of the biggest reasons why people like Trump so much is because his stance on immigration. He may have softened his tone a bit, but regardless, whether it's building a wall or ensuring No visas for overstayers is something that you don't hear Democrats talking about.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

He may have softened his tone a bit,

Is that reactionary PC speak for flip-flop?

that you don't hear Democrats talking about.

This is interesting: Obama (a Democrat) taking action, not talking

http://fusion.net/story/252637/obama-has-deported-more-immigrants-than-any-other-president-now-hes-running-up-the-score/

4 ( +4 / -0 )

No visas for overstayers is something that you don't hear Democrats talking about.

Trump is talking about the kind of "Visa Tracking System" that apparently Congress has improved several times but that was blocked by lobbyists. He must have learned from Christie's mistaken promise to source the problem out to the president of FedEx to solve.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

All the people on this post bashing Trump for his immigration policies don't seem to understand that the reason Japan is so safe is the Japanese governments no nonsense STRICTER approach to illegal immigration. I bet you all love living in Japan and tell all your friends how safe it is, no crime, food is delicious, respect for each other and community. The only difference is Trump is LOUD and J-inc is not. Liberals have no solutions to this very difficult problem. They would rather ignore it, get the votes to win the election then break apart America and blame it on the Republicans. Shameful!

0 ( +6 / -6 )

The funny thing is Hillary has NO immigration policy. I guess thats why people like her.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

...the reason Japan is so safe is the Japanese governments no nonsense STRICTER approach to illegal immigration

Prima facie illogical. If that were true, the majority of American crimes would have to be committed by illegal immigrants, when in fact their crime rate is lower than that of citizens (go ahead and Google it).

Thereason Japan is so safe is their extremely strict restrictions on gun ownership. Anyone who knows Japan would shudder at the thought of guns being freely available in this society.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

He may have softened his tone a bit, but regardless, whether it's building a wall or ensuring No visas for overstayers is something that you don't hear Democrats talking about. He will have a major greencard amnesty like Reagan did (The dems did no such thing).

whether it's building a wall Trump's presidency will be good for the ladder business.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Trump's presidency will be good for the ladder business.

And the shovel and panga businesses.

bass4funk: "One of the biggest reasons why people like Trump so much is because his stance on immigration. "

The one he keeps flip-flopping on? Sorry, but he hasn't "softened his stance", he has gone from "kicking out and banning Muslims" to "I will be stern, but reasonable with immigration," to today's 'stance' since Conservatives have threatened him for backtracking. Proof that the man not only cannot stand behind his words, but that he does not know what he wants to do or what he's talking about.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I'm just watching BBC news which reported how Sarah Palin is worried Trump may be getting 'wishy-washy' about the policies which gained him so much support. If anyone understands the thinking of whooping boneheads, it's Sarah.

Is it just me, or are the whoops from his boneheads at his rallies starting to sound a little forlorn?

I'm predicting something off the scale from the GOP in 2020. Trump 2016 could just be a foreshock.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Trump's never been known to be the sharpest pencil in the box - probably that's why he uses Twitter and eschews email. He clearly does not understand technology. On a Fox interview Friday, he alleged:

I hear the NSA maybe has the emails. A lot of people say the NSA would have the emails if they really wanted to get them.

Ah. Okay, it's that Ocean's Eleven "I know this guy" thing. He continued:

Obviously they don’t want to get them. They’re protecting her, they’re coddling her. And it’s the only way she could even consider running.

Well, at least this fits in with his building campaign to portray his impending defeat as a huge conspiracy by the, uh ... "establishment," but it certainly betrays his ignorance of both technology and law. So he contines:

She knows what was on those emails and it was very, very bad. And maybe somebody should, in fact, ask the NSA whether or not they have the emails.

Hmm. Very, very bad, he says? He seems certain that the NSA had previously been hacking her sever and storing her messages. That to me is more a definition of "very, very bad" (though he seems to think it's okay - so much so that he said at a rally earlier:)

“I don’t know what the law is, but they say that they would have the emails. I guess somebody came out from the NSA and they said, ‘We have everybody’s emails.' So I don’t think they tried too hard. Do you, folks?

Mah, Snowden, NSA - it's computer stuff! Whatever! Normally, I wouldn't make fun of a septuagenariun for such mistakes - but this guy is running for president, has a foul attitude, and seems totally cool with the NSA possessing all of our digital communications - he, a man who his campaign cannot leave unattended with a smartphone.

“Every time an African-American citizen, or any citizen, loses their job to an illegal immigrant, the rights of that American citizen have been violated,” he said. “Equal protection under the law must include the consistent application of our immigration laws.”

This is undeniable.

"Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a former chief of staff to Democratic President Barack Obama, has struggled in particular to contain violence in his city."

Emanuel apparently hasn't learned anything about reducing violence or increasing jobs from former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, who did both.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

President Barack Obama, has struggled in particular to contain violence in his city.

What will Trump do to stop the violence in Chicago. Just say stop shooting each other? Are there any specifics?

Drip drip drip..... the daily drumbeat of Trump bashing media coverage continues. It just just amazing... one candidate can lean back and leave the entire political campaign to the solidly unified mass media.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Which media channel is trashing Trump?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

It just just amazing... one candidate can lean back and leave the entire political campaign to the solidly unified mass media.

It's very amazing. Never in history has one candidate been so bad, and said so many stupid things, that the other candidate can sit back and let them hang themselves. She's giving him the rope and he just keeps cinching it up higher and tighter on that tree.

What's amazing is is how many people are stupid enough to think it's a conspiracy against him, and don't realize that he's doing it to himself. Unless they do realize and are feigning amazement, which would just be sleazy.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

nishikat - For one, AFP - "Trump's doctor: Note written in 5 minutes"

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

This is interesting - Trump's doctor only took five minutes to certify him healthy.

That would mean his real health is about as unknown as his tax records.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

This is interesting: With Trump's gruelling campaign schedule, he's obviously certifiably healthy.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

whether it's building a wall or ensuring No visas for overstayers is something that you don't hear Democrats talking about. yeah because most sane people don't support segregation

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Trump's racist and xenophobic reporters shrieking about the media couldn't be any more hilarious.

Their sources are prisonplanet.com, i'mobsessedwithIslam.com or my own personal favourite, a cranky YouTube uploader.

Heh. The Meltdown continues....

2 ( +3 / -1 )

"Drip drip drip..... the daily drumbeat of Trump bashing media coverage continues. It just just amazing... one candidate can lean back and leave the entire political campaign to the solidly unified mass media."

Trump loves a headline and he's not too scrupulous about how he gets one. He has dominated the media precisely because he says inflammatory things, talks trash and insults people. He knows you don't get headlines by making sober, thoughtful and practical statements.

It's worth pointing out that media figures and news outlets from both sides of the political divide have been on the receiving end of a mouthful of Trump trash. Just ask Kelly from Fox News, The Washington Post newspaper and the disabled journalist Trump cruelly mocked. Not really advisable, is it?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

And look and all the anti Trump people squeal and bellyache utter useless non sense!

Not one of you has presented a single of pinch of logic let alone a potential solution! What is the problem? How about 16 million illegal immigrants! Is the US a country of laws? Or, a country of law bending Clintons? Maybe everyone in US should just give all their money to the nearest minority and erase the border and allow anyone anytime to do whatever they want‥…… That will make you happy?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

The one he keeps flip-flopping on? Sorry, but he hasn't "softened his stance", he has gone from "kicking out and banning Muslims" to "I will be stern, but reasonable with immigration," to today's 'stance' since Conservatives have threatened him for backtracking.

As if that's a first for a politician. Obama said, his admin. would be the most transparent in history and his admin. there's not a hint or smidgeon of corruption. ROFL

Proof that the man not only cannot stand behind his words, but that he does not know what he wants to do or what he's talking about.

You can keep your doctor, your premiums will be low, Assad has got to go, No quid pro quos, Al Qaida is on the run, ISIS is a JV team, the Iran deal was an honest trustworthy deal, No ransom money was paid to release the American hostages, despite a planeload of money arrived in Tehran the same day we got the hostages back. Yeah, Trump's not the only one that can't stand by his words.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Every time an African-American citizen, or any citizen, loses their job to an illegal immigrant, the rights of that American citizen have been violated,”

Sooooo.... The immediate go-to demographic for filling the predominantly service industry and farm labor jobs that would be vacated if Trump rounds up all the illegal immigrants is . . . African Americans.

My god. I knew things were grim with the GOP, but I had no idea they were this powerless to get their candidate to shut his poisonous trap.

Ah, that's because they've given up in this train-wreck of a fool.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Sooooo.... The immediate go-to demographic for filling the predominantly service industry and farm labor jobs that would be vacated if Trump rounds up all the illegal immigrants is . . . African Americans.

I know that's a shocker for libs, but that is in fact true and another reason for a lot of tension between Blacks and illegals. Many Blacks are already at a disadvantaged in their neighborhoods and without a college degree or a high school diploma why would an employer pay anyone a certain wage when they can pay an illegal for less? Many Blacks know this and equally as adamant about illegal immigration and have a lot more to lose than Whites.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I suspect Trump is going to end up supporting a guest worker program for immigrants that enter illegally to do jobs that Americans wouldn't (migrant farm or livestock workers etc).

The bottom line is that trying to make David Duke relevant is such a sign of desperation of the Hillary’s campaign. That’s all they’ve got? Trump has never had anything to do with Duke, but Hillary has had everything to do with corruption. If she believed she were comfortably ahead she would be ignoring him instead of burning money on anti-Trump ads and coming out of hiding for 30 seconds to call everyone a racist.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

"If she believed she were comfortably ahead she would be ignoring him instead of burning money on anti-Trump ads and coming out of hiding for 30 seconds to call everyone a racist."

What? In a boxing match you never ignore your opponent even when you are ahead and your incompetent opponent is punching himself in the face.

Hillary Clinton is shady and insincere, not stupid.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

But, Jimizo, Hillary was apparently stupid enough to not realize she has classified emails on her private server.

"Donald Trump offered fresh details of how he would tackle illegal immigration"

Trump can build casinos and deport Latinos ( Jimmy Fallon's Trump on The Tonight Show, lol )

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

another reason for a lot of tension between Blacks and illegals.

And there's yet another bulls#it claim from the GOP, this supposed "tension" between black Americans and illegal immigrants. It doesn't exist.

But more to the point, it takes enormous cajones for you or anyone to suggest in any seriousness that farm jobs and domestic servant jobs are the exclusive purview of African-Americans.

Why don't you stop being coy and just say, "Hey, let's get those plantations back open so we can really put them back to work"?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Hillary Clinton is shady and insincere, not stupid.

Is that why she doesn't have any campaign events scheduled until the debate ? If Hillary's handlers have finally identified her biggest problem which is herself she may have no alternative but to "campaign" in absentia.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Is that why she doesn't have any campaign events scheduled until the debate ?

It's probably that she realizes the best campaign strategy she can have is just to shut up and let Don the Con talk himself out of the presidency.

@Lizz

Strangerland beat me to it. Watching Trump being crushed by the weight of his own trash doesn't mean Clinton is ignoring Trump nor does it mean she thinks this is already in the bag. Trump's fart-lighting act often ends with his own trousers on fire. Just enjoy it and point it out.

As I said, she's not stupid.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

nishikat - For one, AFP - "Trump's doctor: Note written in 5 minutes" Is this false? Besides Obama dealt with FOX (highest ranked news source and he became president). It's all balanced.

She apparently was stupid enough not to realize she had classified emails on her illegal private server. So? Besides-Did she set up the email herself? Is she an engineer? Also, previous Secretaries were in the same situation. systemic.

Ben Carson literally believes in the Jesus zombie and the earth was created 2,700 years ago.

Many Blacks know this and equally as adamant about illegal immigration What are the polls for black voters for Trump?

Want to make some money? Set up a ladder shop south of the border if Trump becomes president.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@Serrano

You are quoting a religious crackpot who believes in a biblically inspired flat tax, the pyramids were grain silos and Obama may cancel the election and declare martial law from a media source who informed us that Santa and Jesus are white.

Tell me you see the problem in this. Please.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

It's probably that she realizes the best campaign strategy she can have is just to shut up and let Don the Con talk himself out of the presidency.

Is that why she favors speaking to lavish, carefully scheduled conventions and conferences like the American Legion this week over mixing it up at rallies with the rabble or "little people" of our society ?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Clinton's recent speech about Trump was from a community college in Nevada. Not sure how lavish it was bit based on the tape I saw it wasn't quite the Four Seasons.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Quote from news source:

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence sidestepped questions Sunday morning on CNN's "State of the Union" about the flow of guns into Illinois from his state as the U.S. presidential campaign delves into the issue of Chicago violence. Chicago police have said more than half of the guns used in crimes come from out of state, including about 20 percent from Indiana. When asked about it, Pence instead brought up failing schools in Chicago and his running mate Donald Trump's pledge to create jobs.

Want Chicago shootings to be reduced? Vote Dem this time. I'm saying this time because Republicans (like Reagan as Cal. governor) also have a record of strict gun control. So whichever party wants to push for more gun control they have my vote.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

If illegals were taking jobs from lawyers and newscasters, they would be screaming the loudest to deport illegals...

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

So trailor trash are enraged that undocumented immigrants are doing the jobs that trailor trash don't want to do. Whoopee for the base of insane Trump. Typical insane party hypocrisy. Lest we forget that the states that take the most welfare are red states...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

They don't care nearly as much about the ones here working as the ones here committing violent crimes, especially the ones with criminal records that continue to sneak back in and do it again. At least that is my impression from watching a few of the rallies. And why Trump is emphasizing deporting criminals above any other class of illegal immigrant.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

t's all and the same goes for and especially the Latino vote.

But more to the point, it takes enormous cajones for you or anyone to suggest in any seriousness that farm jobs and domestic servant jobs are the exclusive purview of African-Americans.

Yes, it does take a lot of brass ones to expose Dems for what they really are: voter hungry.

The decline in work has particularly affected those under age 29, and the less-educated, who are the most likely to be in competition with immigrants. A study by the economist George J. Borjas and others found that immigration reduces the employment of less-educated black men. Another study came to the same conclusion. A recent analysis by Federal Reserve economist Christopher Smith (2012) found that immigration reduces the employment of U.S. teenagers.

Despite this, many members of Congress and President Obama support giving work permits to illegal immigrants and increasing legal immigration even further.

http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2015/01/06/do-immigrants-take-jobs-from-american-born-workers/unskilled-workers-lose-out-to-immigrants

Why don't you stop being coy and just say, "Hey, let's get those plantations back open so we can really put them back to work"?

No, I'll leave that for the Democrats and it seems like they are doing a very good job at it, sadly.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

If illegals were taking jobs from lawyers and newscasters, they would be screaming the loudest to deport illegals...

It's a good thing there are plenty of Americans who actually what to do those jobs, isn't it? What an infantile comparision.

Meanwhile, I don't imagine you'd personally be rushing out to pick fruits and vegetables in the fields and fruit orchards of California as your primary source of income. Guess what? Most Americans don't want to do that kind of labor. And there's the rub. There are two inconvenient truths you and others hopping on the anti-illegal immigration bandwagon consistently ignore:

1) Very few Americans care to do these physically demanding, but insanely critical jobs that put food in the belly of America.

2) American agriculture still needs someone to pick the fields. The fruits and veggies certainly aren't going to pick themselves. Since Americans are too proud, arrogant, or conceited to stoop to doing manual (menial?) labor, the argicultual industry has to find workers somewhere.

Enter the illegal immigrant.

Conservatives like to gibber like monkeys about how fiscally prudent and aware they are, singing the praises of "Market Forces" as the perfect panacea against the evil Red Menace. Guess what? Illegal immigration is market forces in action. If Americans aren't willing to do the jobs -- which they aren't -- then market forces are going force the industry to seek out labor elsewhere, legal or otherwse.

Enter the illegal immigrant.

Nothing astonishes me more than when you folks froth at the mouth over illegal immigation while stuffing your hypocritical faces with the very bounty these folks work their asses of in hot fields for day in and day out.

Your hypocrisy is as blatant as your "concern" about immigration is a sad, populist ploy to appear as if you give a crap about this country. You don't. You only care about your tiny little corner of it and want to beat, bully, and cattle prod the rest of population into accepting your decidedly fair-skinned vision "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Sorry, but America's on to your scam.
