On October 7, according to Oct. 8 JT, North Korea called Abe an "idiot". It called Biden a "rabid dog", adding, "Rabid dogs like Biden can hurt lots of people if they are allowed to run about,” further saying, “They must be beaten to death with a stick.”

It seems to me that bluff or bluster characterizes indigenous Korean culture, especially on the other side of the truce line, more saliently than other cultures.

I suspect that name-calling means much more in NK than it does in the US.

Being called a "rabid dog" or any other sort of dog wouldn't mean anything to me. Dogs are loved in the US and not for food.

Calling someone an ignorant fool is 100x more insult than comparing them to a loyal animal with a disease.

IMHO.

yeah what did I miss? I didnt have any problem with the idea of what was said, but rabid dog is a little much.

Hmmmm....so what’s the problem here?

The media isn't very interested in Trump and Kim. Everyone has caught on.

Both Trump and Kim seem desperate. The both need a political win.

Both Kentucky and Louisiana governor races were won by Democrats last week even though Trump went to both States.

Next, Trump will try to distract with immigration and the Wall.

Anything to get people not talking about the impeachment hearings.

Agreed. An example of Trump's sense of humor. Interesting that he still feels able to joke in the present pressing environment of impeachment proceedings.

Former VP Biden deserves our respect even if we disagree with most of his politics. He has mine.

somewhat better

Trump meant his tweet as a joke. Perhaps that is lost in translation to non-native speakers? Trump was not trying to protect a fellow American statesman with his tweet. It was a jab.

Very Presidential and dignified of Mr. Trump.

What article are you reading?

The use of name-calling and violent rhetoric has to stop. No half measures.

Went too far?!

Do ya' think?

Gosh, stormcrow, I'd hate to hear what you'd say if Trump has said NK's comments on Biden were right on.

So Kim Un Jong went off the Trump script!

Kim personally didn't say it, KCNA said it. It's their job to say stuff like this, they do it all the time.

Trump defends his political opponent against an attack by a foreign country and being totally unable to show even the slightest among of praise or reconciliation, Democrats keep attacking in childish ways.

Did you not bother to read Trump’s childish trash/tweet?

@burningbusha hand across the aisle for the sake of the country

To truly extend his little hands across the aisle Trump needs to testify, allow his admin appointees and others to testify, and release his tax info.

And stop his constant attacks on anyone who doesn't fully support him.

But his goal is to further divide the country, so he'll keep his hands pointing blame at otherguys for the deepening divisions he's creating.

A defence? What?

Trump is such a child.

US President Donald Trump issued a rare -- if tepid -- defense of Joe Biden on Sunday, saying Pyongyang's depiction of him as "a rabid dog" who should be "beaten to death" went a bit too far.

"Joe Biden may be Sleepy and Very Slow," Trump tweeted, using his nicknames for the former vice president and potential Democratic presidential candidate, "but he is not a 'rabid dog.' He is actually somewhat better than that."

What defense!? Trump's sticking the boot in. Not-so witty banter at best; more like brutal backhanded compliment.

"Joe Biden may be Sleepy and Very Slow, but he is not a 'rabid dog.' He is actually somewhat better than that."

Well, the tonal, written composition, the vocabulary deployed, could be portrayed as a form of mocking political fork tongue. The use of the adverb, “somewhat” suggests, “sort of “. As“Rabid” but not yet foaming at the mouth.

As usual, he extends a hand across the aisle for the sake of the country

I believe this is his first time. Definitely not 'as usual'.
