Heh, two ego-lords about to go against each other, potentially with both having some good dirt on the other. Where's the popcorn?
CrazyJoe
This is the bestest circular firing squad ever! LOL
Tommy Jones
Yet again we see a reference to Trump's nebulous overlords without any details as to who these overlords are.
Tommy Jones
It looks as the the WWE had been recruited to start writing the script. Is this the build up to "Royal Rumble of the Loudmouth Blowhards," replete with Trump supporters insisting it is real.
Toasted Heretic
Bannon will attempt to destroy Trump through Breitbart and his white nationalist allies. But will the Trump faithful defend the PotUS, or tear themselves apart?
And so, the narrative changes.
PTownsend
"only in it for himself." encapsulates Trump, his life to date and his reign as golfer-in-chief. Trump throwing Bannon under the bus (assuming that's what he's doing, and that he's not just creating another distraction from his ineptness, nepotism, insider trading, scamming the taxpayers to increase his and his family's wealth, and dealing with 'foreign' financiers) is another example, as if any more were needed, of Trump having no friends, only people he can use.
Tommy Jones
Remember when we had an intelligent, mature, sophisticated, eloquent president that understood that his role as president meant he was held to a higher standard and so acted the part? It was only one extremely long year ago.
Simon Foston
Tommy JonesToday 09:15 am JST
Evidently there are too many people who don't like the idea of having anyone as president who is any more intelligent, mature, sophisticated or eloquent than themselves.
Toasted HereticToday 08:41 am JST
I wonder what anyone who has been praising them both must be thinking right now. If they're capable of doing much thinking.
Tommy Jones
Agreed. It's easy to see with those that deride the previous president without being able to provide factual examples. These people often accuse Obama of "lecturing" and "talking down" to people. It is clear from their undying support of Trump, who speaks like they do, that they feel intellectually threatened by Obama.
It's a sad day when people cheer the least common denominator.
Tommy Jones
They're waiting for Fox "News" to take a position. Breitbart's position must be causing them panic attacks.
Laguna
True that. Once elected, Trump forgot 'em. Look at his tax law.
But, yup, as I'd guessed, looks like Mueller's going after the money. Kushner's next.
bass4funk
I don'think intelligence or being eloquent has anything to do with it. Being intellectual won't get the job done or help the middle class or cut the national debt. Now having said that, Bannon is a smart guy, but the man has a serious ego problem, his reputation in backing flawed candidates, but interestingly, they still communicate, now if they will privately tell each other off and be on their merrily way, who knows, but what do you expect when the man attacks his son in law? I also understand the frustration that Bannon has towards the Washington establishment, but his style of being combative or trying to force the President to do what Bannon wants just won't work.
nostromo
And the recent tax cuts are going to help the middle class and cut the national debt??.... I don't think so - not by a long shot...
Tommy Jones
Being smart won't get the job done? Ummm . . . okay. Obama dragged the middle class out of the financial crisis conservatives put it in. That helped. As far as the national debt goes, cons just added $1 trillion, so have no leg to stand in from which to Bitch.
Trump just has the ego problem without the intelligence. ROFL!
Just like Trump. Kuddos.
TorafusuTorasan
Of course Bannon is a wholly unlikable character, but I did get a chuckle from his impersonation of Ivanka when he said there is special place in hell for Republicans who fail to vote for Bannon-approved candidate Roy Moore. Commence the crap flinging--at a minimum SNL gets a bumper crop of new one liners.
bass4funk
That has nothing to do with the debt at all, it has everything to do with putting more money in peoples pockets, the very thing liberals just don't want and haven't done and why would they? They like to impose taxes, not take them away, come on now....
Why are you guys now all of a sudden so concerned with the debt. The last 8 years, you guys were totally silent about it, totally. Not one time did I hear the left talk about cutting spending.
But don't worry, now that there's confidence in the market again, hope may spring yet, eternal.
As opposed to the 10 that the Dems left the country in, $1 trillions seems like a deal.
I think Bannon means well, but his anger and judgment are muddling his message and what he stands for and Bannon is starting to become his own worst enemy.
meija
Insane and irrelevant... Here, today, I can honestly say that I totally agree with Donald Trump! Of course, this sort of observation reflects poorly on anyone who would rely on the advice of an "insane" and "irrelevant" individual to help run a country for most of their time so far in office. Still, I guess it's a pleasant change from the usual "treasonous" and "unpatriotic"...
MrBum
It has "nothing to do with debt at all" when you guys are creating it. But when it's a Democratic president is cleaning up your mess, it's "Shut down the government!"
Except the massive and permanent tax cuts got to the rich and corporations, while the small and temporary ones go to the people. They're putting money in the pockets of the rich (in Trump's case his own), hoping they'll be generous and pass it on. Because that's something that's been know to happen, am I right?
I know your politicians say anything that sounds good, but how do you rationalize their inconsistency and BS?
bass4funk
The Democrats have never been good with money other than spending other peoples money, they do that exceptionally well.
The left keep saying that and yet, so far, it's been a regurgitated lie. Even the liberal NYT admitted this will change everything and put more money in peoples pockets and the NYT is no friend of this admin.
They should
No
I do the left and the media are desperate and they will do anything, anything to get the public to believe their BS.

If the Trump administration's attempts to undermine democracy have taught us anything, it's that we'd be in real trouble if anyone on their team shared a single brain cell between them.
bass4funk
So you weren't with the last admin undermining democracy?
I remember the IRS targeting conservative donors only in 2011 wonder what that was all about? Hmmm....
Strangerland
Yeah, you guys were the ones going on about the debt non-stop, criticizing the president non-stop for it (ignoring that the bulk of the debt increase was due to the wars and financial collapse both started by Republicans). So now after you guys went on about it for eight years, we're pointing out your hypocrisy in now supporting a bill that will increase the debt.
If you hadn't gone on about it for 8 years, we wouldn't have any hypocrisy to point out now.
So if you don't like it, then try not being hypocritical. If you don't give us a target, there is nothing for us to fire at.
For like the last 8 presidents (and maybe more), Republican presidents have left the country worse off economically than when they began, and Democratic presidents have left the country worse off economically than when they began. So yeah the Democrats are particularly good at effectively spending the tax-payers money. It's the Republicans who suck at it, and the people who have to pay for that ineptitude.
bass4funk
Yes, he fixed the first two years and after that, the economy remained stagnant for the remainder of the years, didn't even reach a GDP of 3.0% which is considered to be a moving flourishing economy.
Yes in 2025 after the tax cuts expire by then the Dems can either continue them or they can just tell the people screw them and then ensure their downfall by increasing taxes once again, don't think the people will like that one bit.
No one told the last admin, to ad to the debt or go into Afghanistan and leave it in the chaotic state it's now in after he left.
What? oh, lol.

bass4funk: "I don'think intelligence or being eloquent has anything to do with it."
So you agree Trump is stupid and illiterate. Sorry, but those things should disqualify someone from being president. You need to be smart in order to make smart decisions; decisions that affect the lives of everyone in your country and in the case of the US, outside the borders as well in many cases. Eloquence is also important, or at least the ability to bite one's tongue when necessary.
""The truth" is not a figment of my personal imagination"
No, the truth is the truth, what you are talking about is NOT, hence the figments of your imagination. Lest you forget, you guys coined the term "alternative facts" to deal with said figments of imagination and non-realities.
In any case, it's going to be hilarious to see how much Bannon exposes now that Trump has turned his guns on his former first man. And make no mistake, he IS Trump's choice and always has been. The guy can't take that one out of the history books. Everyone said it was a bad choice, but Trump insisted. Bannon didn't go insane "when he got fired", he always was insane, but Trump didn't want to believe it, because he is equally insane but just not as smart.
Going to be fun!!
MrBum
No, even your beloved Fox News admits the tax cuts are focused on the rich and corporations. MAYBE those benefits will trickle down to the poor and the middle class IF the corporations hire more and raise wages. Cross your fingers, because that would be unprecedented behavior for them.
Really now? This article doesn't seem as optimistic for the people.

I never said or thought that.
I think being weak and spineless should be a huge point in disqualification of the Presidency, but it isn't.
Roaring stock markets, lowered unemployment, lowest for blacks, confidence in the market, getting rid of regulations, historic lowering of the tax code, putting more money in peoples pockets and on and on...
I think that's more than smart, it's borderline genius.
You are repeating what I just said!
If you say so, is that why the media is trying so desperately and feverishly to come up with constant lies and manipulated alternative facts about the president so much that they are caught time and time again and have to issue retractions, apologies or some of them end up being fired? Why they never learn. Feeding Koi to the point that they die? Attacking his youngest son because of what he wears? Are you serious? Talk about figments of imaginations and serious non-realities. The media should try the truth sometimes, it wouldn't hurt them.
They constantly talk and still now, it's another blip on the radar and will probably blow over in a few days. Bannon is not stupid to the point where he would cut his own throat. I like the guy to a point, but every now and then, everyone gets a wth moment.
He doesn't need to, not the end of the world, believe me.
I don't get what and why foreigners are so into our politics, but whatever. Bannon will be just fine and this will blow over and everyone will later laugh at it down the road.
The network did not say that, certain individuals on the opinion shows did and at the Fox Business News, a lot of the financial experts, (you know the people that get paid to know this stuff) have said the exact opposites. See, this is exactly what I am talking about, the left just say stuff, just to say regurgitate what ever other left media Trump bashing media want to push.
Yeah as if anyone is listening to the party that lost 1000 legislative seats and ballooned the deficit to $10 trillion and continues to believe raising taxes is the answer to all our problems.
SuperLib
Fox Business a News is saying what? That the majority of the tax cuts don't go to corporations and the rich?

Is this where you got the news that the stock market didn’t improve under Obama?

So we have a pair indicted and a pair having plead guilty under the Mueller investigation, and Trump's modus operandi thus far has been to distance himself - "I barely knew the guy! He just brought coffee! I wouldn't recognize him if he were sitting next to me!" and character assassination. Note that neither of these address the alleged veracity of the allegations.
Also note that neither of these will work when a family member is indicted. Trump's gonna need a new playbook.

To the 62 million people who cast a vote for the Dotard: when he is tried for and convicted of T R E A S O N , how are YOU going to take responsibility for your action?

No it didn't. It improved throughout his presidency, right until the end. Fact check yourself son.
The last administration didn't go into Afghanistan, it happened well before 2009. Fact check yourself son.
bass4funk
No, that the country overall will benefit from the cuts and of course the corporations will make money, they should and they always will and that's what you want or if you want poor corporations to hire people, without money that does tend to be rather difficult then so be it, and good luck.
That and a lot more.

This is hilarious. A fratricidal feud between the (former) blood brothers! The sane world cannot lose this battle!
MrBum
The right does the same with right-wing media. The establishment left-wing media has it's problems, but they're right about Trump. Meanwhile, the right supported the fraud in the White House and helped get him elected.
If the stories from the book in this article are true, not even Trump expected he would win. According to Trump Jr., Trump looked like he saw a ghost and Melania was sobbing tears of distress on election night. He didn't want to win, he wanted to build hype for a new media empire for the right wing to eat up. But even he underestimated how many suckers there are on the right.
Like when Trump gave Putin a complete pass despite proof of Russia meddling in our election? I agree, that's pretty weak and spineless.
Toasted Heretic
Of course, the squabbling between these two essential vain non-entities obscures the more damaging and dodgy stuff being carried out under the Trump administration. Whoever comes out on top - it's the people, as per usual who lose.

Interesting quote in a Politico article:
Rollins is as establishment as they come, so it's in his nature to assume that those in power (Trump) will crush those who challenge them (Bannon) - but these are strange times. Aside from his mental health issues and Mueller investigation impending danger, Trump's support is not exactly loyal. Corpses of politicians risen before being suddenly laid low by the frustrated far right are still fresh - and numerous - enough to stink.
So when Rollins blankly assumes Trump's criticism of Bannon will cut him off at the knees, it's wise to consider that the opposite outcome is equally likely - or that they will achieve mutual destruction with the rise of a new, unknown conservative monster. Trump has zero friends, a growing list of enemies, and no further use to the GOP now that the tax bill has been passed. The atmosphere in the White House must be a putrid stew of morbidity and paranoia.

bass4funk: "I never said or thought that."
Yes, you did, whether you intended to or not. When quoting a poster who talked about the intelligence and eloquence of past presidents and how Trump has neither, you admitted it.
"I think being weak and spineless should be a huge point in disqualification of the Presidency, but it isn't."
Yeah, until Trump doesn't follow through with his bombast, then you say it's "smart". And he sure hasn't had the guts to "drain the swamp" like he promised time and again, and you went 540 degrees on that one, too.
"and at the Fox Business News, a lot of the financial experts, (you know the people that get paid to know this stuff) have said the exact opposites."
Bwahahaha!! hahaha... I can't believe you just used Fox as your source of information "proving" Trump is doing a good job! haha. Why not just use Brietbart? (well, not Bannon, I guess) or some moronic right-wing nonsensical rag like The National Review? (which you've plagiarized in the past)
bass4funk
And subscribe to CNN? ROFL! You too funny, Jim!
No, it was the people, the establishment Republicans tried to keep him out, so you can blame me if you want.

We have time, it’ll come. But why do you worry, you’re not American, so it doesn’t concern your life.
Yeah, I did. I have money and for the past 15 years FBN helped me with that a lot, so you may think it’s funny, I do as well, all the way to the bank.
No, just linked it like the rest of you guys.

Uh, Bass - he got this from the book Bannon wrote. Considering Bannon was Trump's campaign manager from August 2016 and later his political strategist - with an office adjacent to the Oval Office - you might want to take his words as veracity.
Bannon may be the devil's spawn, but what he relates should not be discounted.
Luddite
Trump and his hangers on never saw The Producers.
Even if only a few of the claims in the book are true, it's scary, depressing and hilarious in equal measure.

But corporations today have record profits and record amounts of cash. Apple alone has $250 billion in cash overseas, and with their 40% tax cut, their plan is to bring it over and do stock buybacks to inflate the price, not hire workers.
Thats really the difference between you and me. I think more of the tax cuts should have gone directly to middle class families. You wanted more of the cuts to go to the richest entities on earth, then wait for them to take a piece of it and pass it through to middle class families.
Simon Foston
See why this site needs an "ignore" function?
bass4funk
Do you know how many employees Apple has and also, they money wouldn't have ever been overseas if we didn't have tax code that rapes corporations, if I were Apple, I would do the same, why should I be punished more? Apple is NOT only going to buyback stocks the majority of that will be repatriated back into the country.
They will get a more than significant portion of it, but again, that's the difference between you and me, it's sad that we have to talk about giving back to the middle class and the entire 8 years where Obama was in office that was never a huge focus or even priority and now the left is screaming that they are so overly concerned about the middle class, that just always befuddles me to no end.
No, I want them to use the tax cuts to bring back jobs to the US and give their employees or incoming businesses small or big more incentives to hire and to expand where before everyone was leaving the country and setting up shop somewhere else. And the market reflects the confidence that's growing the excitement in the business air.
SuperLib
Great. So do the same as Apple. But don't tell me you're doing it to benefit the middle class. Corporations are beholden to their shareholders, not the middle class. If you want to help the average Joe then stop giving most of the tax cuts to Apple, which you've demonstrated and clearly understand is not looking out for the middle class. Give more of it directly to Joe.
sigh - Yes, a majority of that will be repatriated back into the country. And then they will use it for stock buybacks.
The middle class will get a small portion of it with a majority going to the rich and corporations. In my opinion, more should have gone to the middle class directly. That's where we disagree.
And now you've reached the end of your limited knowledge on the subject, so you've defaulted to the repetitive talking points about Obama and Democrats. Queue up the "1,000 legislative seats" argument. It means you can't support your original points and you run back to the comfort of cut and paste insults of the Left.
You can want that all you want. But a vast majority of the tax cuts the corps get will be used to inflate stock prices, not to hire workers. That announcement by Wells Fargo to raise pay will account for roughly 5% of their tax savings. 95% for them, 5% for the middle class. Educate yourself.
mukashiyokatta

Under Trump it continue to grows. Trump says he will reverse the debt. It is his fault. Also, is Bannon a Liberal?

bass4funk
Can't think of any other reliable sources.
I'm good, but I do appreciate the kind gesture
Of course it will, look if you don't believe it, you are entitled to do so, but it's here and like Obamacare if ever the Dems get back into office, they would cut their own throats if they were to decide undo this, that would be the end of the party for a very long time. How would they get away with it? We will undo the tax code and raise taxes once again, not going to happen.
Which is a good thing in the long run to expand, hire more people, increased payroll, again, the rich and corporations will always come out ahead, always and they should, otherwise how could they grow, give incentives and hire more people, under the current system, that hasn't happened and wages overall have been going down and companies have been leaving the country.
I never said that. As an Apple user, I invest in it and I want the company to grow. You guys just have to take it, look, you guys had 8 years to really do something good and you didn't, don't give me this talk now all of a sudden you guys are so worried about the middle class. I'm not buying it.
Sigh- They will get a more than significant portion of it
Not at all. Where did you get that? But I must state, 8 years the Dems did more for the poor than for the companies that hire qualified workers and punished the middle-class, so yes, it's true, the Democrats when it comes to job creation especially in the private sector have been absolutely horrible track record.
No, it means, that' the fact and you guys have to say exactly that because the left have nothing else to fall back on, except more income redistribution. That's the answer to the woes of every Democrat.
Ok, you have your opinion and I have mine, so we should agree to disagree, it depends on what you believe, it's not about me educating myself, I can throw that back, you have people that will argue one way, you fall on the position you take and I on mine, that's it.
nishikat
Do Trump followers believe that Bannon is a Liberal
wtfjapan
And the market reflects the confidence that's growing the excitement in the business air. until the tax rate has to go back up again as at the low rate that it will become is not sustainable. the deficit will rise and when it goes back up the economy will turn to poo again. Not coincidence that its expected to go back up after Trump is out of office. Looks like another mountain of poo that Bush dumped on Obamas lap. Republican POTUS are really good at doing that.
