, Trump declared: “We should help Americans purchase their own coverage, through the use of tax credits and expanded health savings accounts

So in other words, if you're rich enough to be able to afford a decent private health insurance plan, you should get lower taxes and tax-free savings accounts to hide your money in. If you're not that rich, best not get sick or have an accident because all Trump and the Republicans have for you is a fat (but weirdly short) middle finger.

well I guess Medicare and social security is gonna be no more at the end of trumpys term since he probably feels it not important and needs billions to increase the military and infrastructure!!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

...broad shoulders, big heart, reaching out, focusing on the future.

Nice, VP Pence - now, please pin that blue ribbon emblazoned with "I'm a Special Boy!" to his lapel.

I don’t know that that was his intent.

Sorry, Bob Corker - NOBODY knows. Kremlinology, Trump style. Let the tea reading begin.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Lie after lie after lie, the spineless Republican Congress gives standing ovation after standing ovation. Colbert gave the most accurate review of the speech during his monolog tonight. The fact is that the only Trump proved tonight was that he can read a speech somebody else wrote off a teleprompter without biting his tongue...

7 ( +11 / -4 )

He will not touch medicare because it will touch the people who voted for him the most. As for social security, there will be some cuts but too much as again it touches his electorate. He will make just harder to ask for benefits.

As a business man, he we will borrow first to pay for everything and if he doesn't balance the accounts after tax cuts, blame the Obama administration (then Bush).

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Tax credits only help those who can work. Useless.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

As long as unity doesn't mean we have to agree with everything, I am all for it. However, when someone who disagrees is belittled, there can be no unity.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Im waiting for trumpy to tweet and talk about how" really really good his speech was and how it got the most standing ovations in the history of speeches " Well I guess after such s speech the FBI is gonna lay off that Russian scandal right!??

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Trump declared: “We should help Americans purchase their own coverage, through the use of tax credits and expanded health savings accounts — but it must be the plan they want, not the plan forced on them by the government.”

Wrong. Does he realise that most/many ppl simply don't earn enough to afford let alone choose 'the plan they want'? How does he expect ppl on food stamps, ppl who are behind with their rent/bills etc to sit down, discuss and 'choose' what plan is best for their needs!? This is not a discussion you have when you struggle to put food on the table.

It's not about what ppl want but rather what they can/can not afford and unfortunately when you raise 3 kids on a pittance paying to see a GP, dentist etc becomes a luxury. This is why govts have the responsibility to treat health care as a basic need, like water/food/shelter. And imo you don't have "broad shoulders and a big heart' when you can't see that.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

"America first" - standing ovation clapping

"America is going to win every war from now on" - standing ovation clapping

"They have to go back, we have no choice" - standing ovation *clapping

Nothing new was said, he just repeated the same rhetoric since he announced he would be running for president in the summer of 2015. The only difference was his audience.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Fractured but whole...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So in other words, if you're rich enough to be able to afford a decent private health insurance plan,

That part is where Obama are comes in, so don't worry, that part is covered.

you should get lower taxes and tax-free savings accounts to hide your money in.

It's your money, if you've earned it, why not?

If you're not that rich, best not get sick or have an accident because all Trump and the Republicans have for you is a fat (but weirdly short) middle finger.

The old, "throw granny off the cliff" scare tactic again? Not going to work this time.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Trump marshaled the energy and optimism that the country is feeling for his agenda not by changing his policies but by leaving the attack dog rhetoric at home. If the Democrats continue to stand as dour obstructionists in the path of the Trump Train they will be crushed.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

If the Democrats continue to stand as dour obstructionists in the path of the Trump Train they will be crushed.

The Republicans did it for eight years, and still won. They literally shut the country down at one point. Literally.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Dow closes above 20,000 for first time even the BIG FAKE NEWS MEDIA OUTLETS are changing their tones, finally! Now go on and apologize to the american people! Trump forgives you he's just too busy getting things done!

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

The Republicans did it for eight years, and still won.

The people didn't like the direction that the country was going and the job overall of the Democrats and I'm saying this with all seriousness. What do the Dems have now? Nothing, but anger, resentment and hate, vitriol, grandstanding, boycotting and insults, it's not the way to win ANY election

They literally shut the country down at one point. Literally.

There's a big difference between shutting down the government over something you believe and don't want to give in to your convictions or principles to just shuttIng down the government because you just absolutely hate the president, want to delegitimize him out of hatred and pure anger.

Dow closes above 20,000 for first time even the BIG FAKE NEWS MEDIA OUTLETS are changing their tones, finally! Now go on and apologize to the american people! Trump forgives you he's just too busy getting things done!

I was amazed to hear that as well. This is exactly what I'm talking about.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

The people didn't like the direction that the country was going and the job overall of the Democrats

"The people" voted for Hillary with 3 million more votes than Trump. Only 20% of the population voted for Trump. Reality says that they preferred the way things were.

What do the Dems have now? Nothing, but anger, resentment and hate, vitriol, grandstanding, boycotting and insults, it's not the way to win ANY election

The Republicans had anger, resentment, hate, vitriol, grandstanding, boycotting and insults for eight years, and still won the election. So apparently it IS the way to win an election.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Yeah right! Cuz nobody's better at dividing than the MSM.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

The stock market keeps rallying. Investors and speculators believe and love Donald!

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

The people didn't like the direction that the country was going and the job overall of the Democrats and I'm saying this with all seriousness. What do the Dems have now? Nothing, but anger, resentment and hate, vitriol, grandstanding, boycotting and insults, it's not the way to win ANY election

Trump is.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

loved his little theater piece on the dead SEAL... saying that Ryan is looking down and is probably happy because he just broke a record for the longest applause in a joint congress sitting.... what BS is that??... an insult to the wife and his family,,,

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Blame the MSM all you want, but they are not the reason Republicans like Raul Labrador will never support the tax credit health credit idea. Until the GOP officials iron out their own differences, any worries about Dems and the media are just distractions.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Reality says that they preferred the way things were.

We can argue four months ago but the current mood of the country is rather less indisputable.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/right_direction_wrong_track_feb27

Forty-five percent (45%) of Likely U.S. Voters think the country is heading in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey for the week ending February 23.

That’s down a point from the previous week. This is the fifth week in a row that this finding has been in the mid-40s after running in the mid- to upper 20s for much of 2016. The latest finding is higher than any week during the Obama presidency.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

"The people" voted for Hillary with 3 million more votes than Trump. Only 20% of the population voted for Trump. Reality says that they preferred the way things were.

Libs can scream that to the mountain tops, it's. To our system, the election is over, no one cares, time to get over and move on OR just keep moaning about it, but it just makes Dems look so childish, because in the end, nothing is going to change.

The Republicans had anger, resentment, hate, vitriol, grandstanding, boycotting and insults for eight years, and still won the election. So apparently it IS the way to win an election.

They had the anger, but not the constant belittling insults, they had a message, they were better organized. Dems keep losing elections everywhere, that would be an indicator their message is not resonating with the average folks.

Listen to what Van Jones (No fan of Donald Trump) had to say, you can't get more liberal than this guy...

https://youtu.be/ic5BXi1XmM8

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

If you don't agree with every word that comes out of Trump's mouth you're either an anti-american, or unpatriotic, weekend rioter, communist, twitter stalker or just another hypocrite.

TRUMP is the president every nation would ever dream to have in charge. YOU will be ashamed of your actions just like when romans realized they crucified the wrong man.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Amusing the Rebs equate successful governing to the rise in the stock market. By that same logic they must think PM Abe is a national hero sent from heaven for the massive boost he gave to equities

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Libs can scream that to the mountain tops, it's. To our system, the election is over, no one cares, time to get over and move on OR just keep moaning about it, but it just makes Dems look so childish, because in the end, nothing is going to change.

Hey, if you keep trying to push a false narrative that "The people" chose Trump and/or were tired of the way things work, I'm going to keep pointing out how that premise is not supported by facts. You can try to divert by going on about how the election is over, but that's irrelevant to the fact that your supposition is not supported by the facts.

They had the anger, but not the constant belittling insults

Yes they did. Calling the president the 'anointed' one. Going on about 'libtards' and 'unicorns' etc.

they had a message

So do the democrats.

they were better organized.

No they weren't.

Dems keep losing elections everywhere, that would be an indicator their message is not resonating with the average folks.

No, it's an indication that the Republicans are artificially supported by the electoral college.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

meanwhile the failing NYT keeps hating and stalking the guy for every single word he says and for no apparent reason, unbelievable!

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

If you don't agree with every word that comes out of Trump's mouth you're either an anti-american, or unpatriotic, weekend rioter, communist, twitter stalker or just another hypocrite.

This doesn't sound like the description of a supposedly thriving democracy where differing opinions are valued and respected. Sounds more like the sort of thing a dictator would demand.....

3 ( +4 / -1 )

meanwhile the failing NYT keeps hating and stalking the guy for every single word he says and for no apparent reason, unbelievable!

Um, there are plenty of 'apparent' reasons.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

This doesn't sound like the description of a supposedly thriving democracy where differing opinions are valued and respected

and this is exactly what the angry sheep are doing right now, harassing, stalking and beating people in the streets, this is how they value and respect different opinions. Hey, why are you people so irrational? Why don't you leave the hate bandwagon and go back to your healthy lifestyles? Get a brain, have your unbiased critical thinking, you DON'T need to hate and stalk Trump just because the media asks you to

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

this is exactly what the angry sheep are doing right now, harassing, stalking and beating people in the streets, this is how they value and respect different opinions.

Which is despicable. Violence is never appropriate. But that doesn't justify attempting to stifle public criticism of the president's policies as 'anti-american, or unpatriotic, weekend rioter, communist, twitter stalker or just another hypocrite'. Both are wrong.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Hoo boy Thunderbird, I want to know where the Kansas City shooter of the Garmin Corp. Indian engineers fits into your "angry sheep... harassing, stalking and beating people" theory. A white military vet who was showing how to "value and respect different opinions" of two friends minding their own business in a public bar? Was he spurred on by the MSM of all absurd things? Trump finally talked about it, so now you are allowed to give us a few sentences.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

So which "policy" in the speech from last night caused the Dems to sit there all night with stone faces? It is simply partisan politics and dislike of the man speaking because he wasn't supposed to win. A lot of the policies discussed are actual things that Dems should also want like infrastructure, security and job creation/family benefits.

It was soooo bad that their rebuttal person seemed traumatized and called himself a Republican too. No one wanted to speak so they had to pull a 72 yr old guy out of retirement to say Obamacare is kinda ok for his local area.Bernie sanders couldn't say anything bad about what Trump said so he ranted about a list of things he felt Trump should have mentioned but didn't. Pretty sad response overall, looks bad when you can't even support a Gold Star family in their time of grief.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

So which "policy" in the speech from last night caused the Dems to sit there all night with stone faces?

Likely the Republican policy of eight years of disrespect towards Obama.

A lot of the policies discussed are actual things that Dems should also want like infrastructure, security and job creation/family benefits.

As were a lot of Obama's policies that were stonewalled over eight years.

There seems to be a major disconnect within the Republican party right now. After spending eight years obstructing and disrespecting, they suddenly are trying to say 'don't do that', without acknowledging that they did that for the past eight years.

Things don't just suddenly fix themselves like that.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Yes, and any Obama policy that was stonewalled, he just signed an executive order (illegal immigrants, boys in girls bathrooms and many more), did it secretly anyway (DOJ slush fund, sent billions in cash to Iran) or had legislation passed that became law before the contents were even known (Obamacare). Do you mean to tell me there was something else he wanted done that never happened because of Republicans?

So the 'Russia invaded Korea' lady didnt come to the speech at all, she is so triggered she cant do her job. Pelosi brought as her guest an illegal alien who stole someone else's documents in order to work in the USA, then went on CNN to justify it all. Talk about tone deaf to what the people want.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

he just signed an executive order

Just like Trump is signing executive orders, same as every president before.

Do you mean to tell me there was something else he wanted done that never happened because of Republicans?

Gun control anyone?

Anyways, you simply prove my point. The Republicans did it for eight years, but somehow suddenly want the Democrats to not do it.

Good luck with that.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

"The people" voted for Hillary with 3 million more votes than Trump. Only 20% of the population voted for Trump. Reality says that they preferred the way things were.

Your statement has alot of holes in it............. Please read on with an open mind.

Hillary’s Popular-Vote Win Is (Mostly) Meaningless

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/442170/hillary-clintons-popular-vote-victory-meaningless

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Hey, if you keep trying to push a false narrative that "The people" chose Trump and/or were tired of the way things work, I'm going to keep pointing out how that premise is not supported by facts. You can try to divert by going on about how the election is over, but that's irrelevant to the fact that your supposition is not supported by the facts.

They had the anger, but not the constant belittling insults

They did, that's why they lost and lost BIG.

Yes they did. Calling the president the 'anointed' one. Going on about 'libtards' and 'unicorns' etc.

That's all on JT for the people that criticized Obama's policies, but on the streets and around the country, conservatives weren't beating up people, blocking highways, attacking people physically on a constant basis, protesting at hearings every single time.

they had a message.

Not even to excite the public and help them win elections anywhere.

No they weren't.

Yes, most definitely they were, that's why Trump magnificently campaigned in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, reliable blue States and turned them red.

No, it's an indication that the Republicans are artificially supported by the electoral college.

Uh-huh, Strange, sorry, but no one believes that, even a liberal like Van Jones would laugh at you saying that. Anyway, if libs want to win anything, they need to stop being obnoxiously abrasive and put ideology to the side, just for once. Personally, if they don't learn from this or want to, it makes me feel quite alright that they stay in their own isolated limbo cloud.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Yup, Trump sure has accomplished a lot in his short time in office.

He has successfully made it easier for mentally unstable people to get their hands on guns.

He has divided the nation by instilling hatred against foreigners, or at least those who look foreign, as evidenced by the increase in hate crimes and incidents.

In one month, he has spent nearly as much money in vacations and travel expenses, that Obama spent in a year.

He has made people believe in his rhetoric that he will fix healthcare, even though he later admitted that it was more complicated than he imagined.

He does a really good job of shifting any blame onto others, while taking every advantage he sees to self-glorify every minute "accomplishment" (e.g. patting himself on the back for getting a long ovation when introducing the widow of the slain soldier Owens, during his speech) he sees.

Way to go, Trump!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Hillary’s Popular-Vote Win Is (Mostly) Meaningless

I agree - the popular vote isn't what decides the president.

They did, that's why they lost and lost BIG.

Don't you mean 'bigly'? Anyways, they didn't lose big. They lost the electoral college, but even bush Jr. won by a bigger span.

And your comment simply points out that contrary to what you claimed earlier, a policy of obstruction and anger can in fact win an election.

That's all on JT for the people that criticized Obama's policies, but on the streets and around the country, conservatives weren't beating up people, blocking highways, attacking people physically on a constant basis, protesting at hearings every single time.

Sure they were. The tea party did it regularly. Even at Trump rallies, they were physically attacking opposition.

Uh-huh, Strange, sorry, but no one believes that

Lots of people believe it.

Anyway, if libs want to win anything, they need to stop being obnoxiously abrasive and put ideology to the side

Why would they do that? Trump winning proved it's a successful strategy.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Gun control? Obama made PLENTY of executive orders for gun controls that people didnt want. Here are many examples:

http://www.ncsl.org/research/civil-and-criminal-justice/summary-president-obama-gun-proposals.aspx

One of these just got undone today, and despite people saying it will help mentally ill people get guns, the order was not supported by the NRA (expected) or the ACLU (unexpected). It was just another example of something Obama himself wanted to do.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

And still a refusal to accept that what the democrats are doing is simply continuing the policies of the Republicans for the past eight years.

Good luck with getting them to stop.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

The voters will put a stop to it in 2018. The only hope the Dems had is that Trump would come off as unreasonable or look incompetent, which he had been doing a good enough job of until last night. But after last night, the Dems are the ones who are looking that way.

The man asked for unity several times, described his love for the country, addressed the racial and immigration issues, and stated his desire for the safety, security and prosperity of the USA and all its people. But all the Dems did was sit there with a dumb look on their faces, unable to score political points with their illegal alien and Muslim guests.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

The voters will put a stop to it in 2018.

They didn't put a stop to it in 2016.

The only hope the Dems had is that Trump would come off as unreasonable or look incompetent, which he had been doing a good enough job of until last night. But after last night, the Dems are the ones who are looking that way.

Obama looked reasonable and competent his entire presidency, and the Republicans still won. They have proven it's a winning strategy.

The man asked for unity several times, described his love for the country, addressed the racial and immigration issues, and stated his desire for the safety, security and prosperity of the USA and all its people.

Now he just needs to follow that up with action. Suddenly saying it after years of doing differently isn't going to suddenly make people think he's seen the light. Actions to support his words are all that will do that.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Obama looked reasonable and competent his entire presidency, and the Republicans still won

They won because despite Obama's likability, he did not accomplish anything and looked petty supporting a candidate who managed to fix the primaries

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

They won because despite Obama's likability, he did not accomplish anything

Ignoring the ridiculousness of that statement, they won because the electoral college and gerrymandering gave the Republicans more electoral college votes.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

" ridiculousness" of facts? DNC did fix the primaries, and Obama did support that candidate. And that candidate lost to the most unpopular political figure in American history. Thanks Obama for your endorsement, it meant a lot.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

"ridiculousness" of facts

You're the one who is denying facts by claiming Obama got nothing done.

And that candidate lost to the most unpopular political figure in American history.

Well, she won the electoral college. She was preferred by the people though.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

He is doing a LOT, but the biased media wont cover it as much as the fake stuff.

Signed an EO to support Historically Black Colleges. SIX TIMES more money than Obama gave them. Media comments: He is still a racist, just doing it to make Obama look bad. Also did you see his staff member sit with her knees on the sofa to take a picture? Thats direspectful!

Signed 2 bills into law to support recruiting more women in STEM to include NASA and the Sciences. This is after another EO supporting women entrepreneurs. Media comments: But, he wants to make our water dirty! (an EO he signed that day) He doesnt believe in science! Global warming! Oh and he is still is a sexist/misogynist/sexual assaulter who doesnt like/supprort jobs for women.

Sooner than later the actions and the success of the economy will overcome it all.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

I agree - the popular vote isn't what decides the president.

Now if all liberals can understand what our system is and NOT what they wish it to be, we can move on, but when it benefits them, they are quite content with our system.

Don't you mean 'bigly'?

No, I meant, Yuuuge!

Anyways, they didn't lose big. They lost the electoral college, but even bush Jr. won by a bigger span.

Lost the House 2010, Senate 2014, Presidency 2017, over 1000 legislative seats, 16 governors (compare that with 33 GOP governors) across the US. Not only was it big, it was an epic earth shattering loss of almost biblical proportions.

And your comment simply points out that contrary to what you claimed earlier, a policy of obstruction and anger can in fact win an election.

If the Dems have a message and they don't. They didn't last year and the whole taxing people out of existence to playing the race card to not caring about the middle class or small business all of that is dead now. Time for a new narrative.

Sure they were. The tea party did it regularly. Even at Trump rallies, they were physically attacking opposition.

Can you find more than 10 videos across the country where conservatives were on a rampage destroying property and beating people or in congress every time standing up and disrupting hearings for Democratic nominees? Good luck finding them

Lots of people believe it.

The whiners, yeah, maybe you're right. Wonder what the losers in Hollywood are doing now? Lol

Why would they do that? Trump winning proved it's a successful strategy.

Since 2010 everything that the GOP has done hasn't rubbed on on the Democrats and never will until they decide to make a decision to change their hateful ways. Maybe one day they will get it.

Bingo!

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

A lot of people will be losing their health insurance soon, mostly working class Americans.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

He is doing a LOT, but the biased media wont cover it as much as the fake stuff.

What fake stuff? Please be specific, what things that didn't actually happen has the media been reporting on?

Signed an EO to support Historically Black Colleges. SIX TIMES more money than Obama gave them. Media comments: He is still a racist, just doing it to make Obama look bad.

Please provide links to where the media said he's doing it to make Obama look bad.

Signed 2 bills into law to support recruiting more women in STEM to include NASA and the Sciences. This is after another EO supporting women entrepreneurs. Media comments: But, he wants to make our water dirty!

1) Why would the media make comments on his EO allowing the pollution of water in relation to women in STEM?

2) Should the media have ignored his EO on pollution in the water?

Can you find more than 10 videos across the country where conservatives were on a rampage destroying property and beating people or in congress every time standing up and disrupting hearings for Democratic nominees?

So you're saying that physical attacks at Trump rallies were ok, because there are (may be) less videos?

Since 2010 everything that the GOP has done hasn't rubbed on on the Democrats

Sure it has. We're literally discussing your dissatisfaction with the Democrats doing the same things the Republicans spent the past eight years doing. The Republicans rubbed off more than they wanted, and now it's coming back to haunt them.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

He is doing a LOT, but the biased media wont cover it as much as the fake stuff.

That's because all Trump ever puts out is fake stuff. For example, the Bowling Green massacre, the Atlanta terrorist attack by Muslims, the supposed low cost and ease of building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico, etc. etc. etc.

I still can't find any sources supporting his many claims above ...

4 ( +4 / -0 )

@Blacklabel

Signed an EO to support Historically Black Colleges. SIX TIMES more money than Obama gave them.

The HBCs were hoping for that money... Trump's not giving it to them. The EO was basically a way of saying "Wish you the best!"

https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-03-01/trump-gives-praise-but-no-money-to-historically-black-colleges

Signed 2 bills into law to support recruiting more women in STEM to include NASA and the Sciences.

Another nice gesture, but as Abe's support for women in Japan's workforce shows, words of encouragement don't have a huge impact.

Media comments: But, he wants to make our water dirty! (an EO he signed that day)

This on the other hand does have a direct impact. Relaxing regulations on fossil fuel and energy companies doesn't benefit anybody except those companies. Are we just supposed to trust that they'll cut into their profits to clean up after themselves?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

That's because all Trump ever puts out is fake stuff.>

None of his 15 executive orders are fake. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/executive-orders

The STEM bills he signed into law arent fake. The things you mention are misrepresentations or human error by his staff. Bowling Green was being planned by Islamic terrorists to be a massacre, but was thankfully prevented (he didnt say it, staff did). Atlanta was referring to Orlando (again Trump didnt say it, staff, misspoke). It has yet to be determined how much the wall will cost or how easy it will be, so that cant be called fake yet.

1) Why would the media make comments on his EO allowing the pollution of water in relation to women in STEM? 2) Should the media have ignored his EO on pollution in the water?

To deflect attention away from the STEM EO signing, which doesnt fit the narrative of him being misogynistic and a woman hater. 2. No but it isnt about pollution in the water, it is about how laws allowed the federal government to prevent land owners from using water how they see fit on their own land.
-3 ( +2 / -5 )

It is interesting to see the discussions here. All in all Trump gave a good speech. Even CNN and CBS are saying this. What he will do or does is perhaps an other thing.

Personally I think the layers are starting to peel back and we are seeing that perhaps President Trump is not as removed from the "status quo" as many people think.

Although hearing him say he wishes to look out for the interests of Americans and put people back to work is very good, his connection to the so called Deep State and related powers (such as Goldman Sachs, etc.) seem to be further reinforced as time goes on.

The elite in power have done a very good job of dividing the country and I believe President Trump can probably put the final nails in the coffin. President Obama and his wife just signed a 30 to 65 million dollar book deal (as reported by NBC) so they are set (I am not saying this is wrong...or right...this is just the facts). The Clinton's are well set, as are the Bushes as well. Most in Congress and the Senate are rich enough so they do not have to deal with the nuisances we ordinary American citizens do and we all know Trump is very well off as well.

Sure, Trump spoke well, but actions speak much louder than words and I tend to see a continuance of the last decade and the decade before where the divide between rich and poor continues to grow and the middle class gets eviscerated. Meanwhile the wealth of those in power continues to grow far beyond what is reasonable.

The subjects continue to fight and argue among each other while those in power get richer, and richer and the rich/poor wealth gap increases.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

None of his 15 executive orders are fake.

Who said they were fake? Of course they're real, but most meaningless gestures or massive giveaways to corporations.

There are tons of lies in his speech though. For some reason JT is not letting me post a YouTube link that lists the glaring ones.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

He is doing a LOT, but the biased media wont cover it as much as the fake stuff.

What fake stuff? Please be specific, what things that didn't actually happen has the media been reporting on?

I noticed you skipped this, while simultaneously going on about what isn't fake.

So tell us what is.

". an insult to the wife and his family,,,"

Clarify this, nostromo: an insult to YOU or to (his) wife and his family?

A lot of people will be losing their health insurance soon, mostly working class Americans.

No, they won't, they may not have a good alternative, but the GOP are not jumping without are parachute on this.

So you're saying that physical attacks at Trump rallies were ok, because there are (may be) less videos?

Oh, No, NOT at all. All violence towards people that disagree with you on any issue is bad, I'm just saying the few incidents from a very few idiotic segment of Trump voters compared to the thousands of violence that comes from the left going far back as Vietnam and has only worsened with libs going apoplectic, video after video on how violent these protesters can be is just staggering.

Sure it has.

No, not at all, since 2010 and now we are in 2017 and liberals keep losing, you can blame it on whatever Unicornverse the left want to believe, but so far since that time, I keep hearing next time will be better and then what? Nothing! Year after year, same old rhetoric.

We're literally discussing your dissatisfaction with the Democrats doing the same things the Republicans spent the past eight years doing.

Oh, now I'm very satisfied with Trump, but don't misunderstand, I am not dissatisfied with the Democrats, I love the hysteria or I should say, I am more amused by the meltdown.

The Republicans rubbed off more than they wanted, and now it's coming back to haunt them.

We heard that before in 2008 and then the Domino effect happened and then the Dems luck started to dry up. ROFL

I noticed you skipped this, while simultaneously going on about what isn't fake. So tell us what is.>

The fakeness often isnt made up. It takes an actual event and changes it into something false either by addition to or omission from the truth.

Kellyanne Conway was disrespecting the Oval Office by sitting on the sofa with her shoes on (to deflect from the Black Colleges EO signing) Trump supports polluted water (misrepresentation of the Clean Water EO) The Syria raid that got the SEAL killed got no intel (it did according to Gen Mattis). Trump wants to remove Dreamers (no, only the criminal illegal aliens) Immigration policy wants to remove all the housekeepers and vegetable pickers (no, those removed were 75% violent offenders and the rest had crimes other than just being illegal.) Trump is misogynist and hates women (but signed STEM and Entrepreneur EOs for women) Trump is racist (but put financial support for Black colleges into budget request) Muslim ban (80% of world Muslims could come and go as they please) Religious test to enter the USA (never was one)

could go on and on

In other words, the Dems and liberals can never get over their whining and will continue to do so and criticize the president at every turn, so if they don't like him, I don't have a problem with that, but STOP demanding he should be something else than what he isn't. You guys will never like or accept him, so don't complain, he is a clear repudiation of everything that Obama stood for and you guys are shocked?!

No, they won't, they may not have a good alternative, but the GOP are not jumping without are parachute on this.

Unfortunately, the GoPs parachute is gold and the uninsured will be lead.

I am more amused by the meltdown.

The current meltdown by the president and GoP is frightening. The GoP have nothing to offer after living for years off of a No Policy.

Now we have Sessions perjury about contacts with Russians and the intelligence agencies having followed Trump's campaign contacts with Russians in Europe (WH is denying of course). The Russian connections keep dogging Trump and won't go away.

You guys need to come up with a better argument, your guy last time didn't leave people with anything, except debt, $17 Trillion, unfortunately.

The current meltdown by the president and GoP is frightening. The GoP have nothing to offer after living for years off of a No Policy.

With Democrats in the minority everywhere in politics, you can say that with a straight face? WOW!

Now we have Sessions perjury about contacts with Russians and the intelligence agencies having followed Trump's campaign contacts with Russians in Europe (WH is denying of course). The Russian connections keep dogging Trump and won't go away.

Let the Dems chase those rabbits, Trump has more important and serious things to work on instead of playing games with these loons.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Sessions' spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said there was nothing "misleading about his answer" to Congress because the Alabama Republican "was asked during the hearing about communications between Russia and the Trump campaign -- not about meetings he took as a senator and a member of the Armed Services Committee.">

So he met Russians as part of his assigned job. But here we go again, Pelosi and other nut jobs already demanding a resignation.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Kellyanne Conway was disrespecting the Oval Office by sitting on the sofa with her shoes on (to deflect from the Black Colleges EO signing)

Again, it was a meaningless signing. They aren't getting that SIX TIMES the money Obama gave them you talk about.

Trump supports polluted water (misrepresentation of the Clean Water EO)

How is it a misrepresentation? It allows revision to regulations that protect clean water. Did I miss that part where Trump was an environmentalist that's going to make the protections stronger?

The Syria raid that got the SEAL killed got no intel (it did according to Gen Mattis).

It's Yemen, and no one in the know is calling it a success other than Mattis, Trump's Secretary of Defense (big surprise). Other intelligence sources say the raid it failed in it's intended objective to capture an operative alive (neither the true objective or the fact that the operative got away is mentioned by Trump). According to people who aren't Mattis, the claim that useful information was gained is also a lie.

Even though they claim it was a success, some on the right try to shift the blame anyway and say the raid was planned under Obama, but they fail to mention that Obama didn't authorize it because we weren't ready. Trump, a man who is known to skip intelligence briefings, gave the go ahead days after taking office. It's almost like he pounced on an opportunity to make good on his promise of eradicating terrorists without thinking it through...

The father of the dead soldier asked Trump not to use his dead son as a shield to protect himself from questioning, so Trump goes ahead and invites the soldier's clearly distraught wife to the speech instead and again lies about the mission's massive success.

Wow, did someone just say that Trump is a victim because he singed a nice EO for women after bragging about grabbing them by the pussy and insulting their appearance?

And is he the victim of false claims of racism even after settling with the government for housing discrimination because he did something nice for black people?

And after watching Kellyanne make up fake terrorism attacks, spread contradictory messages, break ethics rues, repeat Trump's lies, we're going to put that aside and play the victim card for her because of those mean and nasty media types who talked about her sitting?

I suppose if he says something true tomorrow we can chalk up his habitual lying as people just not giving him a fair shake, too.

His treatment of minorities is especially problematic. Most of what he has to say about black people is that they live in crime and filth. Muslims? Dangerous....we need to vet them for years or ban them. Oh, and they cheered...tens of thousands of them....when the Twin Towers fell. Mexicans are rapists. Illegals are violent people. Let's not even talk about the cabinet he built and their history vilifying Jewish people. Native Americans? Let's start the war cry!

I take back what I said about Mexicans. He did take a picture of himself with a taco bowl so maybe he's just a victim of the media.

Just remember libs and conservs need each other because if this world was made up of nothing but liberals the USA would look like a bunch of whiny weak hippies and we would have been taken over long ago. On the other side if the world was all conservative then we would look like a bunch of warmongering jerks who want to shoot everyone and take over the world. Yin and Yang yall, Yin and Yang

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

@zengohan

The image of liberals as whiny and weak was created by conservatives through lies and rhetoric. Make fun of hippies all you want, but they're a big part of why we got out of Vietnam.

The image of conservatives as warmongers was also created by conservatives but through their policies.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Wow, did someone just say that Trump is a victim because he singed a nice EO for women after bragging about grabbing them by the pussy and insulting their appearance?

Bragging doesn't mean he did it. Oh, you Mut really have disdain for Bill Clinton then.

And is he the victim of false claims of racism even after settling with the government for housing discrimination because he did something nice for black people?

How do you know those people weren't gang members or something. I don't think you understand what NYC was like in the 70's and 80's, let's just say, you had to be a very tough SOB to live and work there.

And after watching Kellyanne make up fake terrorism attacks, spread contradictory messages, break ethics rues, repeat Trump's lies, we're going to put that aside and play the victim card for her because of those mean and nasty media types who talked about her sitting?

Obama and the men often didn't wear ties and some wore shorts, what an outrage, but of course, that equally annoys you right?

I suppose if he says something true tomorrow we can chalk up his habitual lying as people just not giving him a fair shake, too.

All presidents lie to a certain degree, but when you compare his lying to Clinton's or Obama's, yeah, he does suck at it.

His treatment of minorities is especially problematic.

Really, here we go with that myth, such as......

Most of what he has to say about black people is that they live in crime and filth.

Many do live in poverty, has nothing to do with skin color, has everything to do with growing up in single family homes, many kids in a gang, very high school drop out rate, so what kind of job can you get? You will live in a very poor area, you want be able to live in Laguna Beach, that's for sure, why is it that liberals keep ignoring these problems? The bigger question is, how will they change it?

Muslims? Dangerous....we need to vet them for years or ban them. Oh, and they cheered...tens of thousands of them....when the Twin Towers fell.

They did many in the Muslim world rejoiced when the towers fell, that's not a lie and No one is saying Muslims are dangerous, it's just that radical Islamist do practice a strict form of Islam and go by Sharia and many of them support the Jihad against the US and Israel, so what's wrong with extreme vetting and trying to get them out and keep them out of our country?

Mexicans are rapists. Illegals are violent people.

No not all of them, of course not, but when you look at the crime stats of illegals it's extremely high, extremely.

Let's not even talk about the cabinet he built and their history vilifying Jewish people. Native Americans? Let's start the war cry!

His son in law is Jewish and his spokeswoman closest to him is Black, please try again....

I take back what I said about Mexicans. He did take a picture of himself with a taco bowl so maybe he's just a victim of the media.

Were you equally outrage when Obama said, White Southerners love to cling to their "guns and religion?" You were as equally as outraged by those comments, right?

Let the Dems chase those rabbits,

Like the GoP chased Benghazi rabbits for years thinking it would be somehow different if they just tried to chase another rabbit.

Yes, these rabbits will get chased down. The Intel groups already have information on what happened. The question is how to release it without blowing methods and dealing with a psycho for a president. Plus, there is the issue of prosecutable evidence vs. intelligence. They don't always mean the same thing, e.g, OJ being found not-guilty in a criminal trial but guilty in a civil suit.

Trump officials meeting Russians in EU during the election and saying it didn't happen, but they were followed by our own intel groups.

Trump has been lying about it and trying to distract the public by crying "Fake News."

4 Americans died in the Benghazi attack an attack that Hillary said, to her daughter, they suffered a terrorist attack, so either Hillary is suffering from Dementia or she just flat out lied....just to flat out lie....

Lol, good luck with that.

Trump officials meeting Russians in EU during the election and saying it didn't happen, but they were followed by our own intel groups.

And so, what's wrong with that? Can you prove there was something nefarious or dubious going on?

Trump has been lying about it and trying to distract the public by crying "Fake News."

No, he should give the media the spanking they deserve, hope he keeps on doing it.

@zengohan: There certainly is some truth in what you say, however on this web site I think you are expected to plant yourself firmly in one camp or the other, thus you received (as I will receive) the proverbial down vote.

I think there are some posters here that could state "humans need oxygen to live" and their posts would be downvoted.

Hillary’s Popular-Vote Win Is (Mostly) Meaningless

Let's have some balance here. Hiliary Clinton lost, but Trump by no means got a decisive victory in either the popular or electoral votes (compared to historical results for the "winners" since 1800).

1 ( +1 / -0 )

After Trump's theatrical performance with the teleprompter, most of the fake MSN promptly fell back into their default, fawning position of on bended knee before the POTUS's "New Clothes", reporting with alacrity on the "grace" and "presidential" demeanor of the "new" Trump. Unfortunately, his set-piece playing to the gallery of Amerikan Firsters with the widow of the SEAL, was in my estimation, blatant and transparent exploitation of her grief (why she agreed to the invitation I don't know), and taking the biscuit for chutzpah with his ridiculous, crass comment on the "happy" SEAL looking down from Heaven, his new "presidential" mask slipped somewhat, revealing a ham acting huckster with no class whatsover. This circus did no honor to the applauding Republican elephant which Trump will likely lead by the trunk down to electoral defeat in the mid-term elections.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Apparently, the official House alternative to the ACA now available for viewing, but only to select GOP members and only in a dedicated reading room, with no one given copies to take with them. The idea is to spring it on unsuspecting GOP members without their having a chance to grasp either the bill or the CBO review.

Still, many doubt whether this will work. Plopping something on the floor without sufficient whip assurance generally ends in failure. If only there were a central uniting figure - say, a president - around which congressmen could rally! Whether this will all end in tears or peals of laughter depends on your inclination.

The problem with refundable tax credits is that you have to have the money to pay in the first place in order to get a refund.

If they go that route, essentially they'll be legislating millions out of health insurance. Back to square one.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

bass:. How do you know those people weren't gang members or something.

We've been over this so my comments aren't necessarily directed at you, they are more for the people you are trying to wilfully mislead. But I'll say it again, and this is probably the 6th time I've done this.

Trump instructed his doorman to tell black people they had no apartments to rent. They know this because the doorman said so, and they sent in a black husband and he was told nothing was available, then his white wife followed and was given a list of available apartments. They also marked black applications with a C to note that a colored person was applying. It's all in the government case that you can read yourself.

You are implying that some kind of check was done and blacks were only denied if they failed the application process. That's not true, they were denied wholesale based on their skin color. Or perhaps you are trying to say that black people are gang members and banning all of them is justified, I don't know. I believe you said in the past you would not rent to blacks because of all of their crime so my guess is it's probably the latter.

Look, I know you're a bullshitter and your MO is to repeat the bullshit until the other side gets exhausted and finally leaves. But this happens to be an important issue to me. I don't want to live in a society where discrimination like that exists. Not only is it immoral, but it limits us as a society. People who can't live up to their potential aren't able to contribute to their full extent and it holds everyone back.

You can come back tomorrow and repeat the same BS and I will be back to expose you because on this issue that's what's needed. You can BS about other issues and I'll most likely write them off, but not this one. You are justifying and defending straight up racism and you need to be taken down a notch and told that's not OK. Daily, if needed. That's what fighting racism takes.

Moderator: You can have 24 hours off to learn some manners.

"Just remember libs and conservs need each other because if this world was made up of nothing but liberals the USA would look like a bunch of whiny weak hippies and we would have been taken over long ago."

By whom? Canada? Mexico?

Incidentally, Bill Clinton and Obama are seen as liberals. Neither left office without blood on their hands. Probably not enough blood to satisfy sadistic rightist nutters but too much for the anti-war crowd. Hardly flower power - more like bombs and drones.

"GOP encouraged but still divided"

Pfffft! The Democratic Party is the one that's divided and in disarray after that Nov. election debacle.

"The fact is that the only Trump proved tonight was that he can read a speech somebody else wrote off a teleprompter without biting his tongue..."

"loved his little theater piece on the dead SEAL... saying that Ryan is looking down and is probably happy because he just broke a record for the longest applause in a joint congress sitting.... "

Yeah, and he read that off a teleprompter too, right? Ha ha, you guys are pathetic.

"what BS is that??... an insult to the wife and his family,,,"

Uh, no, it was a beautiful, emotional moment that had the widow smiling in spite of her grief. Get it straight, sheesh.

Oh my...

Tomi Lahren slams liberals for condescending to SEAL's widow

@Laguna...I agree it is completely disgusting that the GOP plan is available only to select members and is not transparent. Are you surprised? I am not. TPP was treated the same (members of Congress and the Senate could not even take notes) and when Ms. Clinton tried to lead healthcare reform in the 90's the same stunts were pulled. Ironically I think Ms. Clinton would have succeeded if she was more transparent. In spite of her intelligence she is her own worst enemy.

Back to the point....why the secrecy?!

Confusing.

Clinton aerial bombings in Kosovo, the Black Hawk down incident where they the Somalis paraded our dead soldiers through the streets for killing militant radical forces and of course, the deaths of soldiers in the later years of Iraq and Afghanistan under Obama over 1500 troops have died in that war and many more died under Obama's drone attacks.

Ok, so now you're posting more examples to support exactly what he said, even after saying that what he said wasn't true.

Very confusing.

Meaning that the statement was incorrect that people didn't die or that these 2 presidents don't have any blood on their hands. No different really than any other president.
