Smithinjapan, the democratic party is more to blame for trumps victory than anybody. The DNC sabotaged Bernie from the start to get their millionaire girl (who enriched herself from her "public service") nominated. Just about any other nominee would have defeated trump. Hillary and her colossal ego and sense of entitlement is equally to blame. SHE and the DNC own trumps victory.

It will be interesting to watch him try to fulfil his election promises over the coming 2 or 3 years. God help America.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

We Japanese extend our congratulations to Mr Trump. We hope that he will work together with our prime minister, Mr Abe.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Amazing acceptance speech President Trump.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Thank you sooo much!!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Clinton concedes, Trump wins!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Well, credit where it's due -- didn't think the man would win.

But to the peeps who are suddenly a little big for their britches, just remember, you can't blame it on Hilary any more, and you reap each and every thing you sow. You own what comes next.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Abe will need to pay full for keeping US troops. Or he has to kiss china feet. Its Era of China. Kim Jong Un will be happy to invade south korea once Us Left. Good luck world.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

America to Mrs. Bill Clinton: "You're fired!"

3 ( +5 / -2 )

The next president of the United States of America DONALD TRUMP!!! HE DID IT! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Enough of Globalism, TPP. Thank you America

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Americans have chosen to be led by an imbecile. A sad day in the history of the United States, which now no longer is united.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Another triumph for post-truth politics.

Opine, emote, but don't dare quote the facts.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

He won. He actually won.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Americans have spoken via the ballot box and we have said enough to our elitist class system of government.

Congratulations to President-elect Trump:. . . .

Tiger. I was trying to think today of someone that I would prefer Donald Trump to as President, and there is really not anybody. I would feel more proud having Mickey Mouse as US President. No lie. And Reagan takes a heck of a beating but he at least was a stand up guy and served his country and fellow man in various ways. In short, Reagan was a hundred times the mensch that our President-elect is.

And that really begs the question. Can we really believe that this person can accomplish anything, much less do it fairly, consistently, showing good judgment? No way. He is going to need a lot of support and help, and he will make many many mistakes. It is going to be ugly.

And let me add that the US has had a special role in world affairs since 1945. The entire world has supported that role and benefited from the status quo. There are various groups and nations that think that shuffling that world order is going to leave them on top, or at least better off. It won't. And it is risky. So they generally don't do it. But now, if Trump gets his hand to doing some shuffling himself, all bets are off. We are staring that future in the face. Get ready everybody. This is going to get bumpy. Cry Havoc.

Americans vote for Donald Trump to become their president. Need I say any more.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

So Donald Trump is a good choice...

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Only in America would an ageing Hollywood actor be voted by the population as president. Only in America Arnie becomes Governor of California off the back of a successful film career. Only in America would the population vote for a bankrupt, tax-avoiding, illegal immigrant-employing, sexist pig as president. Good luck. But you make your own luck people.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

And today America, the world hates you that little bit more!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

So much schadenfreude right now.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Yes. The math has been messed up since about 11 am Tokyo time Pennsylvania was really Hillary's last chance. Some people in NC and FL and PA are wishing they had gone out and voted.

You know, in Back to the Future II, Biff Tannen got ahold of a sports almanac that gives him a fortune in casinos, thuggery, and all around bad-acting. Looking at all the parallels here, I think we can expect Marty McFly and Doc Brown to make an appearance any day now and correct our timeline so that we don't really have to deal with this.

Or we can just enjoy our timeline and wonder what we must have done in the past to throw things so out of kilter.

And just a thought here. OK. Here we are. Did anyone who really voted for Trump give two seconds thought to what he is actually going to do? I mean, wishes and promises are one thing, but are we seriously going to get Newt Gingrich as a Secretary of State? Is Don Cheney going to come back and run things while Trump runs his university? Is Hillary seriously going to prison? Is US debt really going to be renegotiated? Stay tuned. You have entered the Twilight Zone, and you can't go back. Might as well watch the fireworks, amirite?

I for one welcome our toupeed demagogic orange overlord. Hey, it could have been worse. Don't believe me? Wait and see what happens when Pence takes over for an ailing Trump. Buy in haste, repent at leisure.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

This is Horrible he is going to win!!!

God Save us from this Crazy Man!

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Hillary wins ...guam.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

President Trump:

"Japan, you're fired!"

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Trump wins Alaska.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Up to 265 electoral votes. Congrats Mr Trump

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Crazy Clinton would have caused a war with Russia. Let's hope she is never allowed near public office again.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Funny, Japanese live TV is not showing updated results for Trump! Waiting for the market to close, hey boys?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

So Donald has won....welcome to fascist america....

1 ( +5 / -4 )

He's won it now after taking Pennsylvania..

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Despite running against Crooked Hillary and her lap dogs in the liberal U.S. media AND the GOP, as of this writing, Mr. Trump is just EC 16 votes away from securing the presidency while his opponent is 52 votes out and must run the table to include winning states that voted for Romney in 2012.

Well played, Mr. Trump. Well played. . .

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

As an outsider looking in, this looks scary. Though I believe totally predictable. The world is starting to realise that we have been taken for a ride for the last thirty years. The days of the elites milking the system at the expense of the people is on the cusp of inhalation. Maybe this is the shake up we all need.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

The S&P just tanked. Well done, Trump supporters. Apparently, you thank the village has to be destroyed to be saved.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

We Japanese worry about a Trump President however Mr Abe is very diplomatic and trusted by our people. We are sure that once Mr Trump meets Mr Abe and Mr Abe shows Mr Trump the Japanese way mutual understanding should be gained.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Yen now at 102 from 105 earlier.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

I got an email from my broker calling it for Trump! It looks like Trump will have the job of bringing the US together!

At the very least there will be lots of hotels to stay in ........

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Arkansas, the state most familiar with Hillary and Bill, is posting Clinton 33.7% Trump 60.6%, with 91% reporting.

Interesting!

I get the impression many are voting against the other candidate, rather than for their candidate. I'm not a big fan of Trump, but I can't imagine anyone being as evil and dishonest as Clinton.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Stick a fork in Hillary.

Now introducing, President Donald Trump.

Be afraid Japan.

Be very afraid.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Not sure who will win, but it's sure fun watching Hillary supporters freak out over Trump's lead!!!

0 ( +7 / -7 )

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/elections/live_results/2016_general/president/

(Hillary at 215 electoral votes, Trump at 255. Hillary 47.0% of popular vote, Trump at 48.4%)

Pennsylvania, which with 20 votes would put Trump over 270, is at Hillary 47.8%, Trump 48.6%, with 98% reporting.

goldorak: it's clear anti-HCism runs much much deeper in the US.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

This reminds me of watching the World Trade Centre attack of 2011, just in slower motion.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Not that he is one of them but they believe that he will be better at listening to the people and that his policies will be more capable of change than Clinton

Seriously? Trump listens to people? I'm going to need to see this happen... because I certainly really haven't seen this happen.

naturalclown123NOV. 09, 2016 - 01:55PM JST

Well, what most people seem to forget is that the country is very much a majority white country and the white voters have seemed to come out in droves like hispanic voters or black voters did for Obama in 2008.

Well, I hope the majority white voters aren't forgetting that their ancestors were also immigrants. And I just hope that they're not making this a racial issue.

The problem is, Obama had a strong male vote where men overall have been voting for Trump this time.

Again, therein lies the problem: it shouldn't be about male or female... it should be about who is the best candidate... right?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Good point outrider. I think initially pro bernie (and anti HC) non americans like myself reluctantly rallied behind HC as we got closer to nov 8 but it's clear anti-HCism runs much much deeper in the US.

Also think that pro HC female votes were probably over estimated. I reckon many married women still follow what their husbands do particularly among older voters/generations or lower social classes. Would love to have married vs single women data.

We will survive and become a more peaceful nation IMO while starting to hopefully hold countries like Saudi Arabia more responsible. No reason to sound so doom and gloom. Our Republic is better than that. And now that we've hopefully shown the 1%'ers some truth, maybe they will start working for our country and people, and not the globalization cabal.

While I'm skeptical, lets hope.

Amen to that.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Dems shoulda gone with Bernie from the start. The majority of voters wanted him, but the super delegates gave it to her.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

As an American, I was curious to see how the world was reacting to this election, we too are sad, sad at the choices we have been given tonight. Many tears will be shed, joyful and sorrowful. We will come together tomorrow and create a new party. Rep vs Dem . is outdated.

--Proud Voter.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

So we are heading into the dystopian future of our worst nightmares then? I had a feeling it would happen eventually, I`m just surprised at how soon it has happened. Thank you for speeing the process along, American electorate.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Looks like michigan is abt to go trump.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

If the top two tie with all the votes, that's 269 each, neither has the required 270.

If a third party gets some electoral votes, it would be easier to reach the no-one-got-270 scenario, as no tie would be required.

Thanks. Makes sense, but seems pretty unlikely.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

The stupidest protest vote EVER. Absolutely ridiculous. Brexit doesn't even begin to compare in terms of the damage that this could do. The best we can hope for is that, if elected, Trump does nothing for 4 years but sit in the White House bragging about how he's the most powerful man in the world. Perhaps there'll be a military coup.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Consider this, for three plus hours, the extreme right have been hearing 'Trump is winning' (yes, what has actually been said is 'leading', but what they've heard in their hearts is 'winning'), so even if (as I expect, given how Republican voter suppression efforts result in few polling stations with long lines that often delay the actual end of voting, followed by lots of votes to count) the late returns break heavily enough for Clinton to give her the 'electoral college' win needed for the Presidency, they are going to wake up believing Trump really won. And the month or so of 'the only way Trump can lose is by Democrats cheating' and decades of Republican claims that Democrats cheat, when they hear he's been ruled to have lost, their initial, emotional reaction will be 'the election was stolen'. Guess what their reaction will be, especially given their almost religious belief that they have a duty to own guns so that they can keep their government from being 'stolen' from them. Trump giving a clear, unambiguous, gracious concession speech (unlikely) won't stop most of them from taking the news badly, and if he reacts as badly to being told he's lost as his history suggests, there'll be some that'll take that as a call to stage a revolution.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

I am not a fan of Trump. However I have to admit he is the marketing machine or fierce and tiredless promoter. Sadly 2016 US election was colorful, insulting, hateful and divisive. Medias want to sell news however their prediction or guessing was not the reality. They are not deciders of election outcome.

It may be a bit premature. As a fan of JT posters debate about hopeless Trump, I would like to say congratulation to Bass4Funk who has fiercely protected Trump and disputed about media bias. Your wish has come true.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Trump winning is great for Alec Baldwin and Saturday Night Live.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

MrBum, they were thinking, "no way can I vote for hillary".

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Strangerland: How can that happen? (No one getting the 270)

There's 538 electoral votes.

If the top two tie with all the votes, that's 269 each, neither has the required 270.

If a third party gets some electoral votes, it would be easier to reach the no-one-got-270 scenario, as no tie would be required.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_College_(United_States)#Summary

... the Electoral College, which consists of 538 presidential electors from the fifty states and Washington, D.C. ...

A candidate must receive an absolute majority of electoral votes (currently 270) to win the presidency or the vice presidency. If no candidate receives a majority in the election for president or vice president, that election is determined via a contingency procedure established by the Twelfth Amendment. In such a situation, the House chooses one of the top three presidential electoral vote-winners as the president, while the Senate chooses one of the top two vice presidential electoral vote-winners as vice president. ...

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

something that was underestimated by most experts

To be fair, most of the experts are the establishment. If Pennsylvania stays trump, I'd say it's game over. The crowds Trump was drawing should have been enough for anyone to at least worry and at best panic. Can we admit the "polls" were wrong?

Enough is enough! I'm no Rep, but it looks like the Dems will lose the whole shebang, POTUS, Senate, House and some Governors.

It was Hillary's to lose. All her millions and MSM/Hollywood support couldn't pull it her way.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Still at 254 - amazingly close as expected however I thought Ms. Clinton would have been on top.

It ain't over yet but it sure looks like Trump is going to pull off an upset. It will be interesting to see if Ms. Clinton concedes tonight if Trump wins and if so what she will say.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

LOL

Trump wins and the Washington (and JT) elite are going nuts.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

As some one who voted for Jill Stein in California, to the people who did the same in Michigan, Wisconsin, & Pennsylvania: What the hell were you thinking?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Goldorak, we tried to tell you. A lot of the anti- hillary people here were dismissed as trump supporters even when they repeatedly stated they were not. That kind of arrogance and narrow-mindedness resulted in this debacle for the democratic party.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I'd say the majority of Americans have said they want to blow this whole thing up and to give Washington a wake up call.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Whoa, Jayzee and Beyonce didnt add up to a hill of beans!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I didn't think Americans disliked Hillary that much. Democrats backed the wrong horse, hard to think Bernie wouldn't have done better. Not over yet but it's clear many, many ppl just dislike HC, something that was underestimated by most experts.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Still, settlement by the Electoral College is a possibility if no one gets the requisite 270.

How can that happen? (No one getting the 270)

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Bill Murphy, the electoaral college is the fix. If it goes there hillary will magically win. Tyen the doodoo will really hit the fan.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Michigan. Who would have thunk it? Still, settlement by the Electoral College is a possibility if no one gets the requisite 270. President McMullin? Projection total T 238 C 209.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@strangerland @kurobone

It was fun

@blacksabbath

I hope you'll follow through on your wager and disappear from this forum for a while. Cheers

1 ( +3 / -2 )

We need to look on the bright side. At least it won't be Clinton.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

I think another thing that we are seeing is those doing the polling didn't ask or were too scared to ask the uneducated white voter living in the rural areas who'd they vote for because as you can see,

You need to look at the Washington Post site on the election. Scroll down the page and look at the demographics of who voted for whom and you will see that a surprising number of college graduates and upper and lower income people from all walks voted for Trump.

I have no idea what they see and I hope and pray that the world does not have to pay for any of his blustering.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Honestly, I feel like I'm in a "The Man In The High Castle" alternate universe.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Here's a thought that will probably get me many thumb downs: Since the US is the world's largest economy, each G8 nation should have a share of electoral votes in future presidential elections!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Otherworldy, damn right.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Trouble is only a few people have the right to make the choice, and it's the rest of us who have to live with it.

Yeah, that's true. I would like to think/expect that other countries will isolate the US out of self-protection, but I'm not feeling much confidence in my predictions at the moment.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

the real losers are the media! So pathetic CNN and FOX playing to whom ever wins, or what the "pollsters" The lack of integrity by the media (on most platforms) is just sickening. Say what you want, but at least Trump was brave enough to take them on.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Will admit that I too got it pretty wrong. Not the part about Trump, that was still spot on, but the prediction about how many people want a man like that in the WH. Pretty unreal when you think about it...

Looking a lost cause now, so I suppose the majority get what they voted for.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I've never seen an election where the people cared so little about so much with Trump and cared so much about so little with Clinton.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

it's their choice and their right. They get to live with the results.

Trouble is only a few people have the right to make the choice, and it's the rest of us who have to live with it.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Countries that have been sucking up to the yanks for decades are now having their 'oh sh*te' moment. Shaking in their boots!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

PBot, I agree. Id say now the DNC is regretting the dirty tricks they carried out on Bernie.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Mike L,

My thoughts exactly. The world needs a chastity belt.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Trump just pierced the blue wall! Amazing!

5 ( +5 / -0 )

This is bad for democracy and it's image. Man, if the DNC didn't screw Bernie Sanders, he'd easily make Trump into road kill, and the US would actually have a progressive leader. I don't mean "progressive" as a namesake, I actually mean a progressive as moving forward. Putting Clinton in there caused "protest votes" by progressives which I think is a huge factor in the election. It's not over yet, but the fact that Trump is leading (or even if he was even with her) is already making the country the world's laughing stock.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Breaking News: Ma Clinton is not amused those crazy cats in Florida voting for Trump. :)

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Web site on immigrating to Canada keeps crashing due to high traffic.

Haha!

I read something about this the other day. Apparently it's not actually very easy for Americans to emigrate to Canada. They have to have special skills or family already there, and the process takes a few years - likely as long as they next presidency.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Hillarys got her place in history after all - worst candidate ever - even if by some chance she wins. Libs took black, hispanic, women support for hillary for granted.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Web site on immigrating to Canada keeps crashing due to high traffic.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Wisconsin and Michigan - It's their call now.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Everybody (in the world) strap on your seat belts, President Trump's gonna take us on one helluva ride...

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Brexit, now this.

I guess the Dark Ages are making a comeback.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

The old Paradigm has blown up! God bless the United states of America! Honesty TRUMPS lies and cronyism!

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Wow, this is definitely looking bad. It looks like I may have been wrong all along - when Trump first announced his candidacy, I predicted he'd never get past the primaries. Then I predicted he'd never be elected.

It's a sad day for the US. But it's their choice and their right. They get to live with the results. Hopefully the opposition party will oppose, rather than obstruct.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

WilliBNOV. 09, 2016 - 01:03PM JST

CONGRATULATIONS!

America has its Brexit moment.

In both cases, people in the rural area had a view which people in the cities cannot possibly understand. It seems rural people won both cases.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

It looks like Trump's going to take this one after all.

Bad news for Japan, remember Trump holds grudges. Not exactly the kind of guy we want for diplomacy.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

President TRUMP!

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

Trump wins UTAH!

1 ( +6 / -5 )

It's truly scary stuff. I literally feel chest pains.

Don't worry so much. Just growing pains.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

CONGRATULATIONS!

America has its Brexit moment. And not a second too soon.

And our local low-information pundits have egg on their face.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

I think another thing that we are seeing is those doing the polling didn't ask or were too scared to ask the uneducated white voter living in the rural areas who'd they vote for because as you can see, it's overwhelmingly for Trump.

But what really shocks me is how much of the female vote that Trump is getting.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I don't want this minute by minute garbage. I'm going to bed, then wake up tomorrow and see the aftermath.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

It looks like someone took a big paint brush and slapped on a coat of red paint from the Canadian border to the Gulf of Mexico. Right down the middle of the country.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Absolutely. Heartbreaking,

But not surprising. America has become so racially divided this past year and the Angry White Voter is voicing their feelings with their vote.

Black Lives Matter and the national anthem protests have united the media but you can see in the election the Angry White Voter now has this scared animal backed up in a corner mentality and they like Trump's attitude toward minorities and immigration.

It's truly scary stuff. I literally feel chest pains.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

I live on the Michigan border and not only the blue collar but tons of hunter types (not defending that) in the Northern part of the state that hadn't voted in over 10 years, or ever, who came out for Trump.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

NC and OHIO will go to TRUMP!! THANK YOU AMERICA!!

-5 ( +6 / -11 )

It looks like most of the polls failed to pick up alot of the support for Trump. I guess you overestimate the intelligence of the average voter at your peril.

A lot of other crucial states like Michigan are voting for Trump.

I can't say I'm surprised. I was in Michigan on election day in 2000 listening to two minimum wage workers at a Pizza Hut discussing who they voted for. They both said they voted for Bush. I really wanted to ask why, but I figured it was none of my business.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

North Carolina win for TRUMP! I predict Florida will go to TRUMP! He is well on the way!

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Remember the fat lady.......there are yet 239 electoral votes still yet to be declared......

0 ( +4 / -4 )

TRUMP/PENCE 2016 Stock futures plunge -700 points.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Right now, Trump is winning......THANKS AMERICA!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I would really appreciate a couple of LDP cabinet minsters taking time out to appear on NHK this morning voicing there opinion. Instead of comedians, provoking varying degrees of irritation, nodding away like something that sits on the rear parcel shelf to amuse occupants of the vehicle behind.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Smith: The dollar is also getting weaker already; it's at JPY104.6 per USD already.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

168/109 Scary.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Abe should have had that meeting with Thump it seems.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

oldman_13: "Trump up now 150 to 109."

Yup, and did you see the stock market is starting to plunge? Trump truly is treating the nation like one of his companies!

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Obviously in their own illusuory world Trumps just "one of them". I mean. seriously they just ignore it?!!? Deplorable doesn't even begin to cover it.

Not that he is one of them but they believe that he will be better at listening to the people and that his policies will be more capable of change than Clinton. Isn't that why President Carter supported Trump over Cruz back at the start of primary season ? Because he would be more malleable.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Trump up now 150 to 109.

He will most likely get Florida.

A lot of other crucial states like Michigan are voting for Trump.

He may pull this off...

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@Lizz so Americans want to take the Country back from the rich and powerful and Trump is your answer.Trump is the rich and powerful you do realize this don't you.

Obviously in their own illusuory world Trumps just "one of them". I mean. seriously they just ignore it?!!? Deplorable doesn't even begin to cover it.

As I said, when tomorrow comes, our country is going to get every piece of **** it deserves because of the stupendous rise of an Idiocracy. There will be a day when we won't be able to recover from an economic downfall. Even the "rich and powerful" will lose everything... unless they flee the country. Which they will.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I am aghast, my friends and colleagues in Nutley NJ have not voted.

They've come over all coy and spooked. Whining - nobody to vote for. They will have something to moan and groan about when the bottom falls out of the market. You pays your money and makes your choice, abstaining is a cowards way out. The alternative is being played out in Hong Kong.

Good point lostrune2 had to look it up ......

Russian presidential election, 2012...

Real edge of the seat stuff, regret now never visiting the US, No real idea of what a bona-fide homegrown American look or sounds like, outside of my favorite episodes of BBQ pit-masters..... Yep a deplorable comparison.......Trump is a comb over in front...My money is on Clinton banking then at he last ditch overtaking on the rails......

For clarification Brexit was/is a plebiscite not a full blow Election....

Funny........paste:"Every time I would push a candidate for the Republican party, it would come up for the Democratic candidate," Pennsylvania voter David Drane told KDKA.

Election judges in Clinton Township, Butler County, did, in fact, confirm there were issues with two of their eight automated voting machines, and that most of the issues resulted when people tried to vote for a straight party ticket.

However, others reported when they specifically tried to vote for Trump, regardless of the rest of their ticket, they saw their vote flip before their eyes to Democrat Hillary Clinton.

"I went back, pressed Trump again," Bobbie Lee Hawranko told KDKA.:end paste

Well I guess it is not called "CLINTON Township" for nothing. More reports are surfacing of voting machines with the same issue. I'll bet Putin is laughing his head off....thinking "Russia would never need to hack Hillary's server because America does enough damage to itself.

Latest news is Trump is leading 128 points over Cliton 97 points. Since 1776, USA has never elected female President. Trump campaign is more successful with limited resources and without backing much from GOP and celebrities. In soccer term, it could be called as grass root development campaign.

Sad to say Sayonara to Cliton and her fans,

Donald Trump has 129 electoral votes, after winning 14 states, with his most recent victory coming in Arkansas. Hillary Clinton has 97 electoral votes, after winning nine states. Her most recent wins came in New York and Illinois.

Oh my god.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Clinton has to be feeling pretty good right about now, the left coast is going to fall in her favor and 74 electoral votes she will probably get from California, Oregon, and Washington will more than likely put her over the top.

BUT Trump could win the popular vote and THAT will cause a lot of protesting and problems for Clinton as she (or Trump if he wins) has to act quickly to bring the country back together as soon as possible. This can not linger on, torn chads or not!

The US has a history of letting crap go after the election results are in, and here's to hoping that tradition continues!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

The Clinton News Network website is using as its images for the election a pleasant expressioned hillary and a scowling trump. Typical. Bring on the vacuous grand-standing Armanpour who talks more than the people shes interviewing ( hey, come to think of it, thats ANY CNN "reporter") and the farce is complete.

Couple of very unofficial polls, 92% of Nascar fans voted Trump. Big numbers also expected among WWE followers, registered professional rodeo cowboys and 'men sporting a goatee AND still adept of the bolo tie, on Saturday nights'.

DT appeals to niche markets (doing very well right now btw!)

What was it that Jules said? Oh, yeahL

"Y'all gotta cool the f^&@ out!"

So don’t freak out, for example, at the Virginia toplines.

Obama won Loudon by 5, Clinton is winning it by 16.

Obama won Fairfax by 21. Clinton is winning it by 33.

Obama won Henrico (Richmond) by 12. Clinton is winning it by 21.

Obama won Richmond City by 57. Clinton is winning it by 54.

Rural counties generally report earlier than urban ones. Hence, Repubs "gain" an apparent early advantage in reporting.

IOW. Y'all gotta cool the f^&@ out.

As Virginei goes, so goes the nation.

We've got this.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Clinton is extremely high risk. But it looks like most of the Democratic cities are in early tonight and the conservative rural areas have yet to report, which is the opposite or normal.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

@oldman

Relax. Look at which states have declared, and which have still to do so....

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

The race is frighteningly close now.

Clinton is only ahead by 2 electoral points.

Japanese TV put it this way.....

Trump win...high risk, high return

Clinton win...low risk, low return.

Pick your poison people. But for a country that claims equality for all, and preaches democracy, etc etc etc, America is far, far, far, behind being the leader in the world when it comes to rights for all.

If America was the leader, it would have had a female president decades ago, a minority president, long ago as well. America STILL just plays lip service to the ideals that it publicly places so high on the list of what makes it No.1

The USA is where it is in the world, only because it is protected by two huge oceans, and it created itself into a military state that no one dares attack openly.

Now it's time to put their money where their mouth is, that is IF they can avoid tearing itself apart in the process.

papigiulioNov. 09, 2016 - 09:52AM JST Trump now ahead with 2 states. Should I be worried? :

Coal Mining state and Pence's home state? Not really.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Should I be worried?

Complete answer:

Not if you know where to look.

Clinton wins Florida, and Trump (in near certainly) cannot win. Because of the electoral college math.

In Florida, exit polls and turnout numbers show Trump doing better than Rmoney did in '12. And Clinton doing better than Obama likewise.

Repubs carry the rural counties; Dems carry the urban centers.

2/3 of the state are in the urban areas.

IOW: Clinton wins Florida -->: Clinton wins the whole shebang.

Details in support: Clinton overperforming Obama in Orange and Osceola counties (near Orlando). Leon (Tallahassee) and Duval (Jacksonville) as well. Also overperforming in Dade and Palm Beach

It's amazing how much the world gets to know about US elections. What other country in the world where we find out so much about who and what's going on? Do we even know who's running against whom in other countries' elections and what platforms they stand for? Do people even know who their own current leader ran against in the last election? And yet they know all about US elections, lol

(Quick! Who did Putin run against?)

Trump was expected to draw support heavily from white voters without college degrees.

Clinton was likely to draw support from college-educated voters and Hispanic and black voters.

Lol, so does that mean if they want their kids to vote for Trump in the future, don't bother setting up a college fund and don't send their kids to college

Trump also sued the registrar of voters in Nevada’s Clark County over a polling place in Las Vegas that remained open on Friday during an early-voting period to accommodate people, many of them Hispanic, who were lined up to cast ballots.

This was much ado about nothing. The people voting were already in line before the cutoff. As long as you're already in line, you'll be allowed to vote even after the time of voting has closed.

If there's significant voting irregularities, it would've been an issue in the last election too, which was just a couple years ago in 2014

2 ( +2 / -0 )

"Please tell me why Americans vote for Trump near half."

I can't give you a complete answer, but most people feel as though there are only two candidates. Voting FOR one is effectively the same as voting AGAINST the other. Therefore, you can more or less split the electorate into four sentiment groups + Trump, - Trump, + Clinton, and - Clinton. If you look at it that way, then even if you are -Trump, you might still vote for him if you are also -Clinton. There are a lot of people in that group. There are very few in the +Trump, +Clinton group.

But anyway, depending on how much you can get your reasoning clouded by accusations, you might come to think that Clinton and Trump are both just as bad, so you might as well vote for Trump. In fact, if you notice, the more bad stuff came out about Trump, the more bad stuff was slung at Clinton. It was the best way for Trump to attract voters. Rather than emphasizing his strengths, he just tried to mine votes by creating a false equivalence with Hillary.

From the beginning, I just chose to ignore all of the accusations. All of them. Because they can be made up or twisted. I just focused on experience and resumes. Clinton has experience and knows what she is doing. Trump does not. In fact, he has done less public service than most 16 year olds I know. So the choice was easy. Accentuate the positive. Eliminate the negative. Don't mess with Mr. in-between.

Most Americans did not see the choice so simply.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

The false narrative continues.

.....Of the Democratic party

I voted for Sec. Clinton because she has the experience, knowledge, plan and determination to improve our country for all people.

Obama didn't and Hillary wants to carry the same policies, well, that means we are so f*****!

I think that she will try to work with the Republicans, and she will be successful with some Republicans that want to accomplish things.

Expect more gridlock and a lot of tomato throwing.

LizzNov. 09, 2016 - 08:22AM JST Well, we shall see but this has Trump written all over it. The poll, which will be updated as additional responses are tallied and votes are counted throughout Tuesday, found: - 75 >percent agree that "America needs a strong leader to take the country back from the rich and powerful." - 72 percent >agree "the American economy is rigged to advantage the rich and powerful." - 68 percent agree that "traditional parties >and politicians don’t care about people like me." - 76 percent believe "the mainstream media is more interested in making >money than telling the truth." - 57 percent feel that "more and more, I don't identify with what America has become." - 54 >percent feel "it is increasingly hard for someone like me to get ahead in America."

That's all fine, But it's sheer naivite to believe that if Trump became President all those issues would be resolved. But then the voter base is the uneducated so I guess that makes sense.

Six months ago, I told people on this site that they ought to look carefully at all of the Trump supporters because they have represented so many ideas that are not only ugly, they are unfounded, and they make no sense. Three months ago, I told people that Trump does, in fact, represent the GOP. That cannot be disputed. Over and over again, all but a few, a very few candidates have not only supported Trump, they have ENDORSED Trump, effectively recommending him as a good presidential choice. Again, I told people to remember carefully who those supporters and endorsers are.

Why?

Because tomorrow, I predict, far far more than half of them will deny they ever did that. They will laugh it off and explain away their horrible judgment and lack of fundamental logic as a good natured romp or a sincere desire to ... whatever.

This lack of accountability is poison, and it excuses people who threaten any number of institutions one day, and then rely on amnesia and the better nature of others to just "give them a pass." They will then wait for another opportunity to push their racism, misogyny, hatred for the poor and all disadvantaged people. They will do it when society is most vulnerable, say, after a natural disaster, in the face of a war, or during an economic downturn.

Mark the demagogues and the fellow travelers of demagogues. Remember the fear mongers and the hate bringers. Learn to identify them and their language quickly and strive to protect the complex machineries and necessary vulnerabilities of responsible citizenship. Resist the demagogues. They are the barbarians within our gates. The election is over, but their agenda, to watch society burn, has not been met... yet. Next time, it will be someone more polished and smooth, but no less empty than Trump or Cruz or Carson. The demagogues are emboldened and united and will not rely on a clown to lead them next time.

Good luck to all. Long live the Republic.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/u-voters-want-leader-end-advantage-rich-powerful-211831092.html

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Americans who had cast their votes for the next president early on Tuesday appeared to be worried about the direction of the country, and were looking for a "strong leader who can take the country back from the rich and powerful," according to an early reading from the Reuters/Ipsos national Election Day poll. The poll of more than 10,000 people who have already cast their ballots in the presidential election showed a majority of voters are worried about their ability to get ahead and have little confidence in political parties or the media to improve their situation. A majority also feel that the economy is rigged to mostly help the wealthy.

The poll, which will be updated as additional responses are tallied and votes are counted throughout Tuesday, found:

75 percent agree that "America needs a strong leader to take the country back from the rich and powerful." 72 percent agree "the American economy is rigged to advantage the rich and powerful." 68 percent agree that "traditional parties and politicians don’t care about people like me." 76 percent believe "the mainstream media is more interested in making money than telling the truth." 57 percent feel that "more and more, I don't identify with what America has become." 54 percent feel "it is increasingly hard for someone like me to get ahead in America."
