Fighting climate change does not sacrifice the economy (for example, renewable energies are a far bigger market than, say, f..g coal).

There are an overwhelming quantity of evidence pointing toward man-made climate change, so EVERYBODY knows, and the others are in pure in simple denial.

We all know what happens when Trump steps in to endorse someone; it makes this worse for the candidate and Trump himself. Hell, Cruz would be in a far better position if Trump had kept insulting him or even just stayed away and Cruz could keep insisting he's not a coward who would sell out his own mother for Trump's endorsement -- because that's what Cruz has done. Well, not his mother, but his father, his wife, and his soul. And every other time Trump has endorsed someone, the exception being Kavanaugh, they have lost, after which Trump says, "Well, I knew they would lose. I said that."

If they lose, it is not 100% Trump's fault. It is 50% Trump's fault, and the rest is the fault of the candidate who did not have the spine to stand up to Trump and has been left having to defend him or herself on why they support the racist and bigoted Trump, why they don't stand behind the victims of sexual assault, and more. They knew this day was coming, and chose to do nothing out of fear or dumb loyalty to a man who will sell them out -- and is already preparing to with the "won't be MY fault!" excuses -- in a second.

He tends to avoid taking responsibility, apologizing or accepting blame. So, no surprises there.

Well stated, but I've come to the conclusion that Conservatives shouldn't be equated with Trump supporters, even though Faux News, Putin, Trump, and quite a few posters here may want everyone to think they are.

Trump supporters are just that, those that worship at the shrine of Trump. 

Conservatives, on the other hand, support free trade, want a balanced budget, support a strong response to our No.1 enemy - Russia, and believe in the Constitution (free speech, freedom of religion, etc.).

Trump and his supporters believe in none of that...

Historically, the party in power does tend to lose support in mid-term elections. Since WW2, only two presidents (Clinton second term and Bush Jr. first term) have managed to gain seats in the House of Representatives during a mid-term, and then only marginally. The Senate is much the same. Clinton and Obama recorded the largest losses, more than 50 seats in the House, in their first mid-terms. So the tide of history works against the party in power. Nate Silver forecasts about a 40 seat gain for the Democrats, so nothing epic or ahistorical there.

We'll see. The GOP is starting to come around, voter enthusiasm is rising, a few Senate races are looking more and more settled (Cruz in Texas is a lock), and the Democrats are still looking for a coherent message.

Regardless of whether Trump believes he is right or wrong on this issue or regardless of whether he is right or wrong it is quite unprofessional and shows a lack of judgment to come out and say something like this.

Interesting responses to Trump's words... hopefully everyone looked at his actions and the kind of results he has made not just domestically but internationally.

The title itself create a negative tone, forcing responsibility of election results on Trump.

Just addressing the title here, Trump really cannot be "responsible" for any election result. While elections are sometimes won by a political machine working the system, it is the individual candidate and his own abilities, efforts and his machine (if any) to help him win. It is the candidate that can "choose" to have Trump on his/her side or oppose Trump and campaign as an opposition. Every candidate faces a different issue particular to his constituents. Every candidate faces such issues differently. There are many in the party that oppose Trump and that is alright. Therefore, the responsibility is with the candidate.

Other issues... Too many to state here. But my first statement to direct everyone to rationally, realistically and pragmatically look at the results gotten as a nation.., not as an individual company, industry, or entity. He is "responsible" for the "entire" nation. At the Federal level, it is international and interstate with States, Cities and Towns looking out for the individual citizen in a certain area. Even at the local level, one action can benefit one person and still negatively affect another. Nothing works out the best for everyone or to everyone's liking.

Trump wouldn't have all the blame for any GOP losses, but he would have a large part in it.

I've been looking at the choices for the races. 1st is the person running, their stance on things they can actually do something about and their record on those things.

Which party they align with is about 5th on my list of considerations.

Sadly, the people I most aligned with over issues didn't win their primaries, so I'm forced to vote for my 5th pick of the people left in the race this election cycle. The person running for Governor here is my 5th pick (54% aligned), not my first. The opposition for that race is on the list, but only aligns with my positions about 30%. Both of the people left running are running slimy attack ads that aren't totally true. Typical, slimy politics on both sides. I wouldn't trust either as Governor if I had any other choice.

Why should he, it is not like they have been exactly working with him to solve problems. Trump did bring pressing issues to the table, whether he can execute it to a workable win for all is the question:

Immigration -- something needs to be done, people in congress should not be encouraging people to break our laws. Legal and illegal needs to be addressed once and for all and start enforcing once the lines are drawn very strictly. I am with Trump on this at high-level.

America first: Trade imbalances needs to be corrected with each and every partner that is growing at US expense but he also needs to address the greedy US Inc and twist their arm to get in line. Wage imbalances also needs to be addressed. Trump seems to be only going after one dimension mostly. Stop being an Isreali or Saudi henchman. It is pathetic and disrespectful to every patriotic citizen.

Foreign Wars: US needs to disengage and reduce defense budget by eliminating some bases and save money whereever possible and invest in new R&D. Make the giants explain every $ given to them. Less is more philosophy to avoid the massive corruption. Get rid of blackwater inc e.t.c...in the long term it will eliminate our moral standing (it already did). He is not being allowed to disengage by power circles and congress for politics.

Social Prgrams: No social program in concept should be designed without an incentive to be productive in one's lifetime. The only ones should be the truly unfortunate ones that are not healthy enough to contribute and needs to be supported.

For god's sake hire people that are objective and capable to make decisions in the interest of people and wont think a second to resign if politically pressured
