"If Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran. Never threaten the United States again," Trump said in a tweet.

And I thought twitter was deleting hate speech and banning people who are responsible?

"If Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran. Never threaten the United States again," Trump said in a tweet.

Sort of statement you would expect from a 13 year old school yard bully.  Are Americans not alarmed that their president threatens war by tweeting?  Are they not concerned that their country is perpetually at war?  Or are they more concerned about the next episode of  GOT or American Idol?

29 ( +30 / -1 )

Straight talk from a US president - and true.

-25 ( +5 / -30 )

Keeping lunatic countries like Iran in line is needed not just for the US but for the world. The US is the only country with the courage to do it.

This nonsense should raise alarms about Donny's mental health. That said, it's his M.O. He manufactures problems where none existed, blames them on Obama, "solves" those self-created problems, and his base cheers him wildly.

It's exactly what he did with NAFTA. His base is far too ignorant to see what going on and call him out. They are lost causes that deserve only ridicule and scorn.

Echo @simonb School yard bully talk. Music to the ears of the global weapons makers. Music to the ears of the two clashing religious systems; both can now have their leaders declare jihad.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

Straight talk from a US president - and true.

And exposing. When he talks 'straight', he shows just how much of a moron he is.

17 ( +19 / -2 )

Straight talk from a US president - and true.

Right up until he does yet another 180, at which point you'll follow suit and continue to praise him.

Maybe i am just misinformed but i don't see Iran doing anything "wrong", i certainly don't see it as an "evil" country. I see Saudi Arabia sponsoring radical mosques all across Europe that produce terrorists, chopping heads on a regular basis, and destroying Yemen among others. Saudi Arabia was also responsible for 9/11. Now, what has Iran done? I don't see Iran sponsoring radical mosques in Europe, or any terrorists, or chopping heads in their own country, or anything of that sort. They certainly have human right issues, but nothing remotely close to what SA is doing. This is all about SA buying weapons from America, and Israel wanting war with Iran, and Trump being surrounded by ultra neo-cons who have wet dreams of having war with Iran.

26 ( +26 / -0 )

@Coffee... I suppose Iran reports all the news that's fit to print?

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Mr. Bone Spurs talks tough like all the other chicken hawks. War is not a trivial thing to be tweeted about. Insane.

19 ( +21 / -2 )

This is all about SA buying weapons from America,

That's my Occam's Razor take on this. For Trump and the elite he's supported by to continue their attempts to undermine US systems so they'll have even greater control and wealth they need to maintain the solid economy inherited from Obama.

To do that, they need to subsidize the big war industries that are essential to the US economy. Saudi Arabia's weapon purchases have fattened US (and other nation's) big war industries.

To justify increases in military spending, Trump and his fellow neo-cons need to ramp up fear levels in America's terminally fearful population.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Why was the main player, Israel, missing from this article. It's Israel who want the war, by dragging America and the Saudi's into a confrontation with Iran, will give Netanyahu what he has been trying for years to do an all out war with Iran. I only hope the citizens of all these countries concerned realize there will be huge losses of life military and civilian, and more body bags arriving back in America. How ironic, that whatever destruction that might take place in the middle east, no bombs will fall on America. I really wonder if the American population cares about what America does with its military actions, they'll never experience the terror that comes with wars, the loss of life , the destruction of cities. About time American political representatives started acting responsibly and take steps to reign in the likes of Bolton, Pompeo, Abrams, Rubio and Trump. There should be no military interventions against sovereign countries unless sanctioned by both the House and Senate.

21 ( +21 / -0 )

This is just another example of the lack of any adults in this kindergarten. Tillertson, Mattis, Kelly, all had enough of the "_____moron", "with the understanding of a fifth grader".

So who do we get as a replacement? John "We Bomb Tonight" Bolton, Neo-con extraordinaire and architect of the Iraq War. You know, the war Trump said "was the biggest single mistake the US ever made"...

The Far Right Wing Nut and the Great Orange Idiot will stumble us into a war, and potentially millions will be killed.

Donnie can't remember where his father was born - he's incapable of being trusted with any significant national security decisions.

Keeping lunatic countries like Iran in line is needed not just for the US but for the world. The US is the only country with the courage to do it.

Iran has done nothing lunatic in this episode ...this whole false flag ' unspecified threat by Iran ' is manufactured by the Israeli /Saudi / MIC interests pulling the strings of the orange hairdo.

If they start shooting the whole region will become even more of a long term mess than it is now.

Oh forgot...Iran has oil....Freedom and democracy now!

11 ( +11 / -0 )

The bully is at it again!

He wants his war .... ask yourselves WHY!

10 ( +10 / -0 )

I know Americans are bad at geography, so I think they should look at a map to see what Iran look like.

If you thought Afghanistan and Iraq were bad, wait until you go in a country that is three times as big and totally made of mountains, against a military that can defend itself.

Americans are falling once more for their war propaganda, and once again they will regret it.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Reminds me of how demented Ahmadinejad used to sound.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I don’t care for the threats to ensure Iran won’t take the stupid route in even contemplating about starting something and if it can help advert an escalation of a possible war then by all means.

Ok, Trump could capitulate as his predecessor and take the boot will will embolden them like it did Russia with Crimea.

-21 ( +0 / -21 )

It looks to me like Cadet Bonespurs is in so much deep doo-doo at home that his only get out of Jail card would be to provoke a war. Then he can wrap himself up in the flag he so eagerly frottages himself against, and everyone had to pull their wagons in a circle, rally round the groper-in-chief and stop asking questions.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I thought you are banned from Twitter if you threaten mass murder on non Christian or Jewish women and children. I'm confused.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

@DangoBong

Lunatic - “a person whose actions and manner are marked by extreme eccentricity or recklessness.”

Sounds like a perfect definition of the current US President.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

I don’t care for the threats to ensure Iran won’t take the stupid route in even contemplating about starting something and if it can help advert an escalation of a possible war then by all means.

Well so far there is zero evidence of Iran "contemplating starting something "....all we have heard are shady claims of "some unspecified possible proxy threat against US interests in the region , which translates into any incident invloving anyone / anything that can be remotely connected to a US interest ( via their taxi drivers second cousins fathers brother in law,s family unspecified member for example ) can be used as a false flag pretext by the war mongers.

Up to this moment Iran ihas been out there saying they don,t want confrontation whilst orange hairdo continues his out of nowhere sabre rattling.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

What exactly has Iran done? Just out of curiosity, the same rehteoric was said about Iraq and the non existent 'wmd' it's all about theft of oil and dominance of Opec market..

America is already stealing Iraqi people's oil for their own wealth.. So what else would come of Iran..

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The Far Right Wing Nut and the Great Orange Idiot will stumble us into a war, and potentially millions will be killed.

You’ve been wrong so many times, first you said, he’ll go off to prison that didn’t happen, then he was supposed to be indicted on some bogus witch hunt and wrong again and now you’re saying, he wants to go to war? Don’t believe that for a second, despite what Don Lemon is telling you. We have every right to protect our natural interests and have a moral obligation to take any and every threat serious, that doesn’t mean you have to go to war and there’s nothing wrong with showing a strong military might and use it as a deterrent.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

It's Trump/America/Saudi/Israel are the ones threatening conflict while Iran maintains its nuclear deal it made with the EU/China/Russia.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

What exactly has Iran done?

Absolutely nothing. This just happens to be something right-wing nutjobs in both the us and israel have been mourning about for decades. If you think iraq and Afghanistan were a debacle, wait till these fools attempt to attack the persians.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

What exactly has Iran done?

Perhaps threatened to get nukes? If you're Iran, you get to go to war. If you're NK, you get love letters.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

After killing the nuclear arms treaty, threatening to attack Iran, and supporting Saudi Arabia's attacks on civilians, all while taking Saudi money, Trump will back down, and then claim that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Be careful Saudis have a penchant for bone saws.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

bass4funk: "Ok, Trump could capitulate as his predecessor and take the boot will will embolden them like it did Russia with Crimea."

I remember you crying about how voting Clinton would lead to war, and here you are helping to bang the drums.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Cliptey

Perhaps threatened to get nukes? If you're Iran, you get to go to war. If you're NK, you get love letters.

BUT the same rheteroic bs was said about Iraq in both wars in Iraq, where's the nukes and wmd?? Propaganda does a great job at brainwashing the masses.. Think outside the box and not judge and nod to everything the media in general, Associated Press and Reuters throws out to the world..

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Trump didn't put out hate speech, he made Iran a promise if they attack America.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Noko is a different story, as that's evident from their missiles over our country and actual data and satellite data tracking that. With Iraq and Iran there's zero evidence..

Its PURELY about OIL and OPEC dominance.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Anyone who's actually built nukes would of tested it by now, like noko, Pakistan etc for example. There was no seismic data around Iran to claim of nukes and no atmospheric changes in the region too to claim there's 'nukes' in Iran. Oil is the bloodline of the world's economy, everything around us has oil products, things we take for granted. It's not only for energy.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

I would love to backpack around Iran. 5000 year culture, amazing art, food and people. My partner banned me to go there. Why?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Trump didn't put out hate speech, he made Iran a promise if they attack America.

I promise to thrash the pants off anyone who threatens me, despite nobody actually threatening me. I'm warning you all.

Trump is the one driving this conflict, on twitter. Odd times we live in.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

The drums of war are beating. Who shall follow into the abyss?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The drums of war are beating. Who shall follow into the abyss?

Unlikely to be Jared Kushner, little Stephen Miller, Pompeo, Bolton, or any others in the Trump White House pushing for conflict.

Unlikely to be children of Congress members pushing for war (and increased funding for the military to appease their campaign contributors in the military-industrial complex).

Unlikely to be the military-age children of execs in the big war industries whose companies profit from wars (and rumors of them).

Unlikely to be the military-age children of the Wall Street execs whose companies profit from wars (and rumors of them).

Unlikely to be the military-age children of oil and gas company execs, those for whom too many recent wars have been fought.

Most likely those tasked with serving will be from communities that gain nothing from war. Except PTSD, injuries, disabilities and death. Same as it ever was.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

klausdorth:"He wants his war". And the gutless nation of the world will stand by and do nothing. When will the people demand their government stand up to US domination and dictatorship? How many more people must the US slaughter before the people of the world demand their elected government stand up to US domination and dictatorship?

bass4funk: "Ok, Trump could capitulate as his predecessor and take the boot will will embolden them like it did Russia with Crimea."

I remember you crying about how voting Clinton would lead to war, and here you are helping to bang the drums.

For Trump supporters, war is only bad if it's used to bad mouth a political opponent. They are plugged into the DT network and they'll follow it to the end. In other words, Trump could start rounding up American Muslims for execution and they would boldly cheer him on.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Yeah, yeah. Persia has been there for thousands of years, and will still be there thousands of years from now. The United States? After Trump, you have to wonder.

This man who calls himself our President needs to keep his small hands off his phone and stop tweeting. You don't solve problems with a tweet. He is the most derelict President of all time.  He is goading Iran into a war. Saudi Arabia is pushing his buttons, as is Israel. He needs to be stopped. We do not need a another war in the Middle east.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Yeah, yeah. Persia has been there for thousands of years, and will still be there thousands of years from now. The United States? After Trump, you have to wonder.

It won’t If the socialists have their way. Bye bye eagle, hello, hammer and sickle.

This man who calls himself our President needs to keep his small hands off his phone and stop tweeting.

I think he should tweet a lot more to be honest.

You don't solve problems with a tweet. He is the most derelict President of all time.  He is goading Iran into a war. Saudi Arabia is pushing his buttons, as is Israel. He needs to be stopped. We do not need a another war in the Middle east.

This is nonsense he’s not giving up for a war or looking for a camp at the same time he is not going to be bullied and we should never be bullied, intimidated, threatened, or walked all over, like in the last administration, even Bill Clinton was more hawkish. It doesn’t have to be a war and there doesn’t need to be any type of military conflict, but it would be irresponsible for the president to sit there and take it up the rear, so I think you are completely wrong, I think he should tweet and I think he should tell the Iranians, you are a notice, we don’t want war, but if you think you can attack us, intimidate us or threaten us and think you can get away with it, then you shall experience the full might of the US military

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

For Trump supporters, war is only bad if it's used to bad mouth a political opponent.

No, Warren should be used as a deterrent and if any of my adversaries thinks that they have the right to attack us, unlike the last administration that just completely took it up the rear, this it administration is not like that and thank God it is not.

They are plugged into the DT network and they'll follow it to the end. In other words, Trump could start rounding up American Muslims for execution and they would boldly cheer him on.

So Trump is going to round up every single Indonesian that lives in United States? Boy you guys and that tasty water you all drink....

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

It is a trademark of the USA to push a country into a corner to provoke a war.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

It won’t If the socialists have their way. Bye bye eagle, hello, hammer and sickle.

You've been watching too many Hollywood movies or reading too many comics!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Ok, Trump could capitulate as his predecessor and take the boot will will embolden them like it did Russia with Crimea.

Give it some time and Donny may well capitulate toand appease Iran. It wouldn't be a surprise given his penchant for doing 180s. Also, it would follow his pattern of capitulating to and appeasing dictators. Just look at Kim.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

No, Warren should be used as a deterrent and if any of my adversaries thinks that they have the right to attack us, unlike the last administration that just completely took it up the rear, this it administration is not like that and thank God it is not.

You complain that Obama didn't get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan and complain that he got us into Syria. Wouldn't it be easier for you to simply say when Obama did it, it was bad; but if Trump does it, it is good?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I think he should tweet a lot more to be honest.

This demonstrates your lack of seriousness when it comes to governing.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The late author Norman Mailer, in an interview with Playboy magazine many decades ago, described the U.S. as being "Faustian" -- always needing a devil against which to struggle. After the Germans and Japanese, the U.S. had international communism and then militant Islam to contend with. U.S. politicians love to crow about how they defeated Soviet communism, but the sad fact is the Cold War bankrupted both countries. The US infrastructure is crumbling for lack of funding and the life expectancy of caucasians has fallen by about seven years. Some victory. The peace dividend isn't enough to buy an jumbo espresso latte at Starbucks.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I remember you crying about how voting Clinton would lead to war, and here you are helping to bang the drums.

I still feel like that and beating the drums doesn’t mean that war will commence. Relax and please tune CNN off, it’s all good.

You've been watching too many Hollywood movies or reading too many comics!

No, I prefer history books.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Give it some time and Donny may well capitulate toand appease Iran.

Oh, I doubt that. If they don’t start anything, Trump doesn’t have to give a response.

It wouldn't be a surprise given his penchant for doing 180s. Also, it would follow his pattern of capitulating to and appeasing dictators. Just look at Kim.

How? Kim didn’t get any sanction relief. That’s what he wants, that’s what he only cares about, that’s one of the reasons why he went to Russia, as if Russia has a lot of money, funny.

You complain that Obama didn't get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan and complain that he got us into Syria. Wouldn't it be easier for you to simply say when Obama did it, it was bad;

I did already.

but if Trump does it, it is good?

Look, I don’t want to go to war, I’m not a war loving guy, but I don’t believe in appeasing the enemy. I believe in a strong military and if that means to show a strong military show of force to intimidate the enemy, I think it’s good, doesn’t mean you are or need to go to war, but if you don’t, they won’t take it seriously.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

This demonstrates your lack of seriousness when it comes to governing

No, it demonstrates we are living in the time of Twitter and understanding it’s a powerful tool to use to communicate. If the liberal media is hell bent on reporting only negative news about the President, the. He doesn’t need them and he should twitter especially if they don’t want to talk about any of his accomplishments, he should Tweet and shouldn’t allow the media to drive their liberal narrative to push a one-sided point of view.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

No, it demonstrates we are living in the time of Twitter and understanding it’s a powerful tool to use to communicate.

Also abuse, misuse, name call, bully......

No, I prefer history books.

So you are actually thinking the American Communist Party will take over? American hammer and sickle instead of stars.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Also abuse, misuse, name call, bully......

Yes, this is true and unlike TV where the President can’t defend himself against the attacks of idiots like Don Lemon and or Joe and Mika that love to attack and abuse the President, Twitter allows him to fight back, it’s a great platform.

So you are actually thinking the American Communist Party will take over? American hammer and sickle instead of stars.

Yup....or at least they’re trying to get to that point.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

You've been watching too many Hollywood movies or reading too many comics!

No, I prefer history books.

Me too. Can you post the names of your non-partisan historians who saw the Bush 2 years as a success? I, like most people, thought he was a disaster, particularly in foreign policy and the economy.

I hope Trump doesn’t leave office with the economic and foreign policy mess the last GOP president left behind.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Me too. Can you post the names of your non-partisan historians who saw the Bush 2 years as a success? I, like most people, thought he was a disaster, particularly in foreign policy and the economy.

Bush is not the issue, been there already dealt with that.

I hope Trump doesn’t leave office with the economic and foreign policy mess the last GOP president left behind.

Or Trump’s last predecessor.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

First of all, it wasn't the U.S. making the original threat, it was Iran.

Second, it's neat to have a president who isn't into appeasement.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

So, let's see, the countries who have started, participated in, and/or are principle belligerents in close to a dozen wars and invasions in the region in the past two dozen years, more if you include their 'proxies' are threatening to attack Iran over the responses by those who the US and Saudi Arabia are actively at war with or occupying.

Think about that, and then think about how the Iranian response (which has consistently been along the lines of 'we don't want a war, but we're coming to the end of our tolerance for your attacks on us') is portrayed as the belligerent threats by your media.

Also consider this, Iran has actively confronted the 'proxies' of the US and Saudi Arabia twice, and despite those 'proxies' being heavily armed and fully backed by the US and funded by the Sauds billions, defeated (the mopping up continues in the one case, but it is just that, a mopping up operation that would have been long over if Iran had followed the US/Saud pattern of slaughtering those in 'hostile areas' rather than slowly eliminating the fanatics while limiting civilian casualties and offering amnesty or exile to any 'hostile' sane enough to take the path to peace) them.

When you're a violent bully, you can't (literally are incapable, no matter how many times it is explained to you) conceive that someone who is quiet and unaggressive can possibly have the ability and strength of will to defeat you, even when they have done it to you before.
