Further evidence, as if we needed it, of Donny's repugnance. He's willing to punish the citizens of California simply because the governor criticized him. Thanks for such a great president, Trumpophiles.

Taking a line of attack he first used last year when fires killed 86 people in northern California, Trump blamed Governor Gavin Newsom, saying he had done "a terrible job of forest management."

Hey Trump,

The vast majority of these recent wildfires are grassland fires, not "forest fires" ... and the cause is extremely high winds and arid conditions, not unraked leaves.

Imagine if Obama had threatened to withhold funding for a red state? The pubs would have taken to the streets with their guns.

They're lucky that the democrats are overwhelmingly not as violent as their own team.

Trump threatens to withhold emergency aid from fire-hit California

Probably he’ll OK the aid if they start investigating Joe Biden’s son.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but Trump is going to withhold aid for his fellow Americans while things burn?

Trump threatens to withhold emergency aid from fire-hit California

Why?

Give me a break, I love California, miss my former home,

When did you leave California?

but the liberals destroyed that beautiful State and have made billions in Silicon Valley brag how much billions they make, they hate Trump and they don’t need to accept any Federal money. It’ll be a huge tax write off, so let them deal with it.

Good Luck.

You completely misunderstand the article. California isn't denying federal money, which is what you imply be saying, "they don't need to accept any Federal money."

I'm sure a tax write off will be a huge comfort to those that lost their homes and worldly possessions.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

I certainly and most definitely do not misunderstand it.

Sure you did, which is why you implied that California was refusing federal money instead of asking for it.

Yeah, uh-huh....well, they can handle it. Ask Tim Cook or Barbara Streisand to chip in and give the power system a much needed overhaul.

Further evidence that you did not understand the article.

Not the ones that didn’t lose a home.

Probably not, but those weren't the people I was referencing. More irrelevance from you.

Also the ones that did they always have money to rebuild

All of them always have money to rebuild? How do you know? Did you ask all of them? (This is your "logic" when you disparage polls that cut against conservatives.)

Remember when our president was like this:

https://youtu.be/qaHLd8de6nM

and not the current imbecile?

Being from California, I know and that’s the advantage of growing there, to know.

First, having grown up there doesn't mean you know the situation of everyone living there currently. or, are you saying you spoke with every resident and nothing has changed since you left?

What year did you leave California?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Give me a break, I love California,

So much so that you're happy to see aid withheld because Trump was criticised.

miss my former home, but the liberals destroyed that beautiful State

At least they never suggested nuking it.

and have made billions in Silicon Valley brag how much billions they make,

If only they had private jets and inherited wealth.

they hate Trump and they don’t need to accept any Federal money. It’ll be a huge tax write off, so let them deal with it.

That's a real relief from all those affected by the recent emergencies, I'm sure.

How so? the elected official is half the country away campaigning for a job that only 2% of her own party even pick her for. She should be back at home during her job.

You're right. The American electoral system is a disgrace and a mess. Two years campaigning? What's with that.

Wrap this and electoral college reform into one. Change the electoral system to only be 3 months max, and scrap the EC. Two initiatives that could be easily done together, Making America Great Again.

California can’t get its way after talking trash and bullying the President

Freedom of Speech, just watch what you say, right.

Zichi is absolutely correct. Pacific Gas & Electric, the monopoly energy company in California (think TEPCO in Japan!) has mismanaged and failed to update their own power grid system for many years. Independent sources, and PG&E themselves, acknowledged their dangerous system caused some of the fires. That is why PG&E declared bankruptcy to minimize financial and judicial punishment. For more on the evil PG&E, check the movie Erin Brockovich, starring Julia Roberts; that was ALL true!

More, as verified by Governor Newsome and CNN on several occasions, the largest percentage of forest management in California is actually the responsibility of - wait for it - the Federal Government! Yay! Corruption and incompetence running rampant once again,

Perhaps the new Environment Minister and Disaster Minister in Japan will expeditiously move to correct the never-ending series of natural and man-made disasters here in Japanland. If they take their cues from the U.S., however, do not expect any real improvements.

Imagine if Obama had threatened to withhold funding for a red state? The pubs would have taken to the streets with their guns.

Very true - Hannity, Carlson, and Ingraham would be having epileptic fits, and urging their followers to take to the streets with their AR-15s. Urged on by Putin I may add...

Donald Trump threatened once again Sunday to withhold federal aid

Yet...

"Last night they approved seven additional emergency grants in record time,"

So... what was said... and what was done... are two different things.

The Trumpers here ought to give this passage a hard look - it will show once again that Donnie is merely scamming you. He's saying all the things you want to hear but doing something else. You know - just like Mexico will pay for the wall, mark my words, but its US taxpayers who are footing the bill.

You're getting played - maybe you know it or maybe you don't - but the Great Orange Con-Artist is pulling one more con-job on you...

That would be more Antifa Democrat Style with masks

Laughable. Show me an ANTIFA who is an NRA member...

And no comment on getting played by Trump - we understand, it is humiliating...

Laughable. Show me an ANTIFA who is an NRA member...

They don’t need to, they have cement cocktails, knives, bats, “steel toed” Docs

You said AR-15 - so show me an Antifa who is an NRA member - if you can't, say so. And your comment above just described the "Proud Boys"....

And no comment on getting played by Trump - we understand, it is humiliating..

Just as it’s humiliating for the Dems to be beaten by Trump so, so many times.

Trump says no funding but signs seven emergency funding bills...what you think about that?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The Trumpers here ought to give this passage a hard look

Point out a fairly significant difference between the threat given and the action taken (which is the only thing that really counts).

Get called Trumper.

You're getting played

Say's the person that obviously, at least on this post, believes anything less than 100% compliance in his beliefs equates to support for PDT.

And THAT is why, come 2020, we're gonna be stuck with this idiot for another 4 years. ALL the left has to do is not act crazy... and they can't even do that.

You know that many Antifa members???? You have a lot of time.

if you can't, say so. And your comment above just described the "Proud Boys"....*

You can’t say unequivocally either.

Trump says no funding but signs seven emergency funding bills...what you think about that?

He’s the President, if he wants to sign bills, his choice.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Why are other states able to manage their power distribution and generation in safe ways while California cannot?

Something smells funny.

Donald Trump threatened once again Sunday to withhold federal aid

Yet...

"Last night they approved seven additional emergency grants in record time,"

So... what was said... and what was done... are two different things.

"But what's so insidious, and what's so remarkable is that he's doing everything right to respond to these disasters and everything wrong to address what’s happening to cause them."

Pretty sure that...

"Every year, as the fire’s rage & California burns, it is the same thing-and then he comes to the Federal Government for $$ help. No more. Get your act together Governor,"

Is his method of addressing it by pointing out your crap eco policies that are contributing to the annual raging of the flames.

Sure you did,

Yup, exactly.

which is why you implied that California was refusing federal money instead of asking for it.

They don’t need it, just have the ego Hollywood elites fund it.

All of them always have money to rebuild? How do you know?

Being from California, I know and that’s the advantage of growing there, to know.

Yup!

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

They aren't the government, which means it's not their responsibility. Smh.

Never stopped them from opening up their stupid mouths and force feeding us their radical opinions they want action taken against this President, but silent on this? Hypocrites...smh...

Because he's conservatives

As well as he cares about his country.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

How so? the elected official is half the country away campaigning for a job that only 2% of her own party even pick her for. She should be back at home during her job. Whats rich about the truth?

This is rich coming from a Trumpophile.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Irrelevant to helping California being the government's job.

Irrelevant thinking Trump has to come to California’s aid.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

The same president who shut down the federal government for the longest period in history because he couldn't get his way just like the bully in the school yard.

And now California can’t get its way after talking trash and bullying the President, oh, that Karma.....

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Where is California’s Senator during this crisis? Dancing in Iowa running for President. Nice crisis management skill.

California has been mismanaging the natural resources for a really long time. California was an arid region long before mankind was introduced into the area. Drought, high winds, wild fires, mud slides, and earthquakes are common. Redirect water to make things grow, clear the under growth to prevent massive fires, fail to adequately oversee that there is enough water decade after decade, fail to keep clearing fire lanes, etc.. But it's not California's fault they've mismanaged their state. Besides, the Pelosi-types will see that the federal government will continue to send taxpayer dollars to cover for California's incompetence, and mismanagement.

See, someone gets it. Spot on.

California, one of the richest states and richer than many countries has an outdated and poor power grid system which has lacked investment and updates and is the source of these fires

Imagine all that money in the hands of some of the cheapest people in the world. A problem that could have easily been solved a long time ago.

You completely misunderstand the article.
