I've been smiling a lot over the past 24 hours. :)

Same Superlib, same! But only because I know he's petty and won't go down without a fight. I'm pretty sure all who have gotten their pockets filled during his presidency will be ratted out.

It’s sad to see the press always talk about the payoff to Daniels, when the 30 odd indictments are financial crimes - insurance fraud, tax fraud, etc.
Their parroting Trump’s deflection from the real crimes.
plasticmonkey
@Peter Neil
I agree. 34 counts implies something more serious than just paying off a woman to be quiet about an affair. We just don’t know enough details yet, so the MAGA outrage is premature, not to mention silly.
It’s not shocking. I’m far more surprised that Trump hasn’t been indicted before, especially in the Georgia case. What are they waiting for?
TokyoLiving
I can't wait to see his photo with the convict's number..
LOOOOL!!!..
stormcrow
Let’s see Trump dressed in an orange jumpsuit wearing handcuffs! Mr. President, it’s time for your cavity search.
marc laden
If you put Trump in a court case..... Will that solve all the problems of Biden is doing??? It is a attention diverting drama...
But this arrest will help Trump to win the next election with over 100 million votes ... wait for 2024 ...
You... I mean you... Will cry a lot .. and still look for some some thing to feed the hungry blind followers in the so called " today"
Yrral
Trump is reaping what he sowed, having to answer , before a judge and be arraigned and have the charges read to him on national tv

Prison for him... At least 40 years!

Forget the popcorn, I've got my schadenfreude on ice for this is just the first of a multi-series Trump soap opera which will run on into the future and beyond. His arraignment will be a low-key and sober affair (no cuffs or orange jump suit, no publication of his mugshot as the authorities will want to keep this unprecedented occasion from turning into a circus to further tarnish America's image around the world), but there is no telling how Trump will react: to rant or not to rant - that is the question. Despite his lawyers' best advice to bite his tongue, the notoriously mercurial mandarin is bigly unpredictable, the mother of all "loose cannons". Will be wild again?
UChosePoorly
Thanks for your prediction, Marc Laden. I will put you down for 100 million for Trump in 2024. Did you have a prediction for the numbers of the Democrat?
plasticmonkey
Because Alvin Bragg works in the Biden administration?
Absurd accusation.
stormcrow
Trump dressed in an orange jumpsuit wearing handcuffs while debating Pres. Biden on TV. Yeah, that'll solidify his position with the Republican Party!
plasticmonkey
That's what gives you MAGA types the energy to get up in the morning? Have a nice day!
GBR48
I think this is a political own goal by the Democrats. It will energise the Republicans. It feels good - I'd enjoy seeing Boris marched off to prison - but locking up your political opponents makes you look like a banana republic. Also, taking Trump out of the political sphere may be unwise as DeSantis may be more extreme.
NCIS Reruns
If he goes to jail, his diet might improve.
Jimizo
As mentioned, best wait and see what the full extent of the indictments are before believing what Trump and the hysterical stolen election types believe - the US is a banana republic.
theFu
Ok, so the office of the President does deserve special processing. It isn't about the man. It is about the office.
They should have arranged it so he surrendered on Tuesday early and was arraigned later that day, posted bail after turning in his passport and the court should have provided the secret service with instructions for where he's allowed to go and stop the hookers from visiting him for that day.
When he's found guilty, then the full weight of law should be applied, though jail time would be at "Club Fed". The $100K fines will mean nothing. He'll just take that from his campaign funds.
sunfunbun
Indictment means a lot more than MAGA people seem to think. Trump can't weasel his way out by asking his cult for help, there's a ton of evidence, and it's just the first step to segue to the other indictments upcoming. Each one is not going to be easy for him to buy out the jury, the judge and whomever he thinks can happen. It won't. He's going to be found guilty of crimes, MAGA, most assuredly.
What the right keeps saying about it being political? It's their usual nonsense and lying to themselves about the insurrection and Trump being a crime boss type leader, and they're his soldiers. None of the Corleone crime family would ever go against Michael.
Same thing, here, except the Republicans are supposedly part of a fair system of democracy, and they've put Trump as a priority over it. It's proven by the GOP's, 'it's ok, Donald' reaction to the insurrection and its attack on the US constitution and democracy. Conservatives simply don't understand they aren't the patriots and don't believe in American greatness as they go against the constitution supporting Trump's criminal actions. No one ever said one had to be intelligent to be a conservative zealot, but it sure is out of hand with the stupidity and lack of logic.
Lock this guy up. And the whole party of lying jerks if they can't see the reasoning behind the indictment.
bass4funk
And then? Oh, how the wheels of the pendulum swing. :)
plasticmonkey
Cool metaphor, lol
lincolnman
Delusion and faux bravado....they sound like Putin more each day...
Once again we'll see Repubs stand up to defend Trump - and get their legs cut out from beneath them when the full facts are known...
That's what Trump does to his defenders and supporters - he humiliates them...
Just wait until the full 34 counts are released showing clear tax and insurance fraud, with properties being over and under-valued, along with the Stormy and McDougal payment fraud.
https://www.yahoo.com/gma/da-could-hush-money-payment-152653857.html
We're already hearing that Weissellberg, who is now sitting in a Rikers Island cell, may not be happy with his accommodations and doesn't want more jail time for the tax fraud, and is cooperating hence the total 34 counts...
Tues will be a great day for America and justice...
sunfunbun
This is exactly what Trump wanted. Not a one party system, an only him president nation. What's so funny is the GOP knows this, and they go along and he doesn't care a lick about the Republican party, he only uses it and its religious stance for his own good. He never goes to church, holds the bible upside down and the Christian front loves the guy. They're getting gaslit, but who cares?
He's the cult leader! bwahaha.
Superlib
Unfortunately for Bass, that train has sailed.

Well that's lucky. You do write some good stuff about other topics though.
Why, what happened in 1989?
bass4funk
I think so.
Wish I could say the same for others.
Dems lost it. So very sad.
Not in the US, not for Americans.
Jimizo
Never voted for a Democrat, eh?

Remember just a couple months ago Trump was forced to testify in the civil trial by the NY Attorney General on Trump Org tax and insurance fraud allegations - and he TOOK THE 5TH OVER 440 TIMES....
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-trump-pleads-the-5th-in-deposition-for-new-york-attorney-generals-office
Which brings more relevance to him saying in 2016 that "only the mob takes the 5th"...
https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-invokes-fifth-amendment-after-saying-the-mob-does-that-2022-8
Perhaps the only accurate thing about himself he has ever said...

I did, but in those days, he was normal. Doubt the same guy could ever get elected by the Antifa generation of today.

Twice impeached and is now the first to be indicted.

How low can poor Lindsey Graham go...
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina says he's got a plan to keep former President Donald Trump from being prosecuted after being indicted by a grand jury in Manhattan on Thursday — assaulting a police officer and engaging in robbery.
"How can President Trump avoid prosecution in New York?," asked Graham on Twitter. "On the way to the DA's office on Tuesday, Trump should smash some windows, rob a few shops and punch a cop."
https://www.yahoo.com/news/lindsey-graham-says-trump-smash-173141823.html
"Smash some windows, rob, and punch a cop" - remind you of any infamous date in US history Lindsey? Perhaps the day you were running for your life? The day you subsequently said the MAGA insurrectionists could have "killed us all"?
That's some flip from you saying; "Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told police officers that he didn’t understand why they didn’t open fire on rioting Donald Trump supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol last year, according to a new book. “You guys should have shot them all in the head,”
https://news.yahoo.com/lindsey-graham-told-cops-shot-100640748.html
Lindsey gives new meaning to being a flip-flopping, craven, groveling, pathetic, boot-licker...
bass4funk
And acquitted…twice.
Worst abuse of prosecutorial political power over a misdemeanor. But the Dems wanted to go that route, here we again, you would have thought they would have learned from their past over reactionary political choices, but they will.
Cards fan
Hmm Yeah, that would be hilarious. But it's not going to happen. Trump is a crook. He's always been a crook, and his chickens are now coming home to roost.
Blacklabel
Oh it’s reply guy- right on time!
so yeah there are several processes that need to happen before a potential trial even states.
for one, how is this not expired already under misdemeanor statute of limitations?
gonna be a complete clown show just to even maybe get to a trial much less a conviction.
lincolnman
Won't be as hilarious as watching all the far-right folks here implode after guaranteeing Trump would "win in a landslide" in 2020 and seeing the "Red Wave" of 2022 turn into a trickle...
Good for you - l guess we need to add an "A" to LBGTQ...
Cards fan
Do you think the prosecutor doesn't understand statute of limitations? Do you think the Grand Jury isn't aware?
Trump is facing 34 counts, and none of know what all of those 34 counts include. I'd be careful about making any grand proclamations about how these charges are all flimsy. I'm willing to bet the Bragg and his office has the goods.
Blacklabel
Regardless we are going to have to see some serious abuse/bending of the law to even get this in a court room.
then you lose the case but set the precedent that it’s ok to prosecute and persecute ex presidents for politics .uh oh.
Say it ain’t so Joe.
wallace
bass4funk
You don't know what the evidence is nor what Trump will be charged with. We all will have to wait. Probably be after the 2024 election before there's a court case.
plasticmonkey
Have you guys read the indictment yet?
Why are Trump and his followers so upset then? Nothing to worry about. This all just makes Trump 'n' his little MAGA movement all the more popular among patriotic, law-loving Americans.
As Sam Cooke said, a worm's a gonna turn, yes it is.
Blacklabel
the power of the liberal attack is in the accusation, speculation and narrative.
now that you put yourself into have to prove something, all of that is at risk. If this case falls apart all credibility is over for any other future attack.
remember Russia, Russia, Russia? Fell apart once they tried to actually prove it. So no one takes any of that seriously and it’s not valid as an attack anymore. Plus it makes people already doubt this new attack.
Bob Fosse
Wow, yeah. I wonder if the DA and prosecutors noticed. You should tell them!
Bob Fosse
“House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has vowed to use congressional oversight to probe Bragg.”
Wouldn’t that be a politically motivated witch-hunt or is kevin just investigating crime?
Blacklabel
Not upset at all.
kind of surprised this is the hill to die on. Those other cases must really be nothing if this is the one “chosen” to “get Trump”.
you do know if this falls apart the American people won’t allow you to just pretend it never happened and try again right? This is “the one”. Live or die.
what did recent liberal hero Bill Barr call it? An abomination? Doesnt sound good to even make it to trial much less convict and then make it through appeal.
Cards fan
Any proof of this, or just more speculation?
I don't think we've ever had such a nakedly corrupt president before.
How do you know Bragg isn't going to accuse Trump of "real crime?" We don't know what is in the indictments yet.
Nonsense. Trump actually got indicted. Prosecutors were actually able to prove Trump was likely to have committed a crime, which is more than we can say for Republicans who have repeatedly alleged corruption on the part of Democratic rivals.
lincolnman
You mean like this accusation, speculation, and narrative?
https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-shares-ron-desantis-grooming-accusation-meme-governor-defends-him-1779639
So you've seen the evidence presented to the grand jury?
Some falling apart....
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/18/gop-operative-convicted-of-funneling-russian-donation-to-trumps-2016-campaign-.html
ROFL...
nishikat
Bragg hasn't done anything. It was the grand jury.
Trump people, just forget about Trump and focus your energy on Ronny. Trump is gone.
plasticmonkey
Yes. We will wait to see what the verdict is. Republicans don't even want the trial to proceed, probably because they suspect Trump will be convicted. They're nervous, so they're shrieking about Bragg the same way they shrieked about Mueller and Schiff and Cheney and anyone else who dared follow the law instead of Lord Trump.
Good. Hope that dark Pandora's box has other indictments in it.
On 34 counts.
wallace
The Grand Jury had sufficient evidence against Trump to indict him. Who are the jury? Secret always to protect them.
Superlib
Kind of like election deniers.
Unless you're an election denier who is still going strong.
I'd prefer the other indictments came first, but they are all following the law. And the good news is that they're independent. Trump's lawyer can't get the charges thrown out in Georgia because of what New York did. Trump might not like it, you might not like it, Gym Jordan might not like it, but there's nothing you can do but complain.
Which is meaningless in court.
lincolnman
Barr also said that Trump's election fraud claims were "BS" and that the DOJ has him "dead to rights" on the classified stash...
And what does he think of Trump as the 2024 Repub nominee?
"Barr went on to say that Trump, who announced earlier this week that he will embark on his third presidential campaign in 2024, “failed” as president and should not be seeking another term."
https://nypost.com/2022/11/19/bill-barr-says-doj-has-enough-evidence-to-indict-trump/
Glad to see you hold his opinion in such high regard...
Silvafan
Karma is really a thing!
The irony is:
1) Trump's former lawyer has already went to prison for his involvement in this crime.
2) Trump, the most boastful person in the US, got prosecuted by a lawyer named "Bragg".
3) Trump, who is notorious for not paying his debts for decades, is finally getting indicted for paying a pornstar hush money and lying about it on his taxes!
bass4funk
2016??
ROFL
Hmmmm
Again, the man has some of the best lawyers money can buy, even Dershowitz was impressed, I’m sure they’ll look at all the legality and constitutionality of the laws, so it’s all good. Dems may not like it, but that’s why we have the constitution and it seems Cohen’s lack of credibility will help Trump in the long run. This just continues to help the man, meanwhile Jordan’s investigations into the Biden’s widens.
Silvafan
Let's not forget:
NotThe One
The people who are upset about the indictment are the Trump fans, the Russian government, North Korea, and Chinese government.
What do they all have in common?
They all believe Trump was helping to destroy the country that they all hate.
Also, the investigation about Jan 6, voter fraud in Georgia, and the stolen documents in Florida.
This might make Trump the Republican Nominee which guarantees Biden's victory!
Blacklabel
I don’t. But glad you agree with him that this is an abomination.
bass4funk
Like I said, you think what you want and so shall we and no amount of deleting will change that. If you are not allowed to have a debate then don’t have one and just post news articles without opioids comment section
