It Trump bi-polar?

"Xi wrote a lovely letter."

""far worse for them if it has to be negotiated in my second term."

How can anyone take him seriously from minute to minute.

Unfortunately Trump doesn't understand basic economics. He thinks that tariffs hurt China. They don't; they hurt America. They make Chinese goods more expensive in the US, and the consumer pays for that.

Sure, it may mean that consumers buy less because of this cost, but the US isn't even in those markets at those prices, so you wouldn't expect much decrease in demand.

Maybe Trump's slogan should be Make America Expensive Again... because that's what his stupid tariffs are doing.

While Europe stands up for itself and fines even the largest US companies that break European rules, I would hardly call them lapdogs. The US is the main military force of NATO so as long as that holds the US will have some ability to manipulate Europe on some issues. Other times Europe has kept its distance and not backed the US on some important issues. Trade and environment are issues that still has a major gulf between them.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

He may actually be right about things being worse in 2020 (for everyone). Record US national debt, inflation, high debt to GDP levels not seen since WWII...

5 ( +5 / -0 )

He’s just the designer that was hired by the American who created the American company Apple. Very kind and gracious of him. Again, nice try.

It was the Brit's intellectual property that enabled Apple to sell the iPhone. Nice try indeed.

They’ve always been saying the right thing, it’s just immediate that have been saying the wrong things as well as being dishonest, hostile and very antagonistic. They keep trying in more and more people are tuning them off, thank God.

Damn the media for reporting on Trump's words and actions! Damn them to hell. Don't they know they are supposed to change Trump quotes to be factual?!

I completely disagree, given the history of the rest of the world they would have been more of an anchor or Or doing something in someway to try to save some business deal behind our back’s plotting conspiring and acting like little finger. We learned a lesson before during the Iraq war with France in the behind the door oil deals with Saddam. Trump is definitely right on this one and I’m glad he’s pushing his instincts as far as he can on this.

Trump's instincts are to binge watch TV whilst binging on fast food.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

While I don not agree with Trump on anything else, I do agree that forced technology transfers, coersion and theft of intellectual property, in order to do business in China must be stopped. Since those are not issues between Europe and the US nor with the other US allies, having tariff wars with those countries makes no sense.

Well, we're all on the same planet. Nowhere else to go. So I think we had better find a way to get along. With careful planning this planet could accommodate double the population. As it is, the greed of a few are killing the place.

Absolutely no skill at all is needed to threaten and force. Communication, reason, negotiation and planning taking into account the whole planet is what is needed. Right now, with Trump and Xi it's not there.

U.S. President Donald Trump warned China on Saturday that it should strike a trade deal with the United States now, otherwise an agreement would be "far worse for them if it has to be negotiated in my second term."

Your know, my second term, the one after I serve my first term for conspiring to pay off porn stars...

But what I want to know, is why is Trump still making his clothing line and Ivanka her shoe line in factories in China if they are such unfair traders? If they are so unfair that we have to level tariffs, then why hasn't he taken those jobs and given them to American workers? Why do American farmers, steel, auto and construction workers have to suffer but he doesn't?

Explain the hypocrisy Trumpers....

4 ( +4 / -0 )

China needs to stop the American bully!

3 ( +16 / -13 )

While supporters laud Trump as a tough negotiator, free-trade-minded Republicans have warned that the tariffs could do real damage to the economy, and many farmers -- including Trump supporters -- say the tariffs have hit their bottom line.

A negotiator who not only lacks any bit of style but also thinks nothing of selling out his country. And yet nobody is stopping him.

There was a great mayonnaise commercial back in the day that showed a hand scraping desperately the ends of a mayonnaise jar. The voice over said: we've bailed France out of two world wars, but we gotta hand it to them for mayonnaise.

That is hilarious. I hope it's available on YouTube!

We can also thank the French for their help booting the Limies out in 1776 and for distracting the Limies after they burned the WH in 1812. That's a long way to say I fail to see any substance to the point you were attempting to make.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

it’s just immediate that have been saying the wrong things as well as being dishonest, hostile and very antagonistic

Didn't you ever learn that while sticks and stones (and missiles) can break one's bones, names will never hurt them?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

bass: I completely disagree, given the history of the rest of the world they would have been more of an anchor or Or doing something in someway to try to save some business deal behind our back’s plotting conspiring and acting like little finger. We learned a lesson before during the Iraq war with France in the behind the door oil deals with Saddam. Trump is definitely right on this one and I’m glad he’s pushing his instincts as far as he can on this.

Are you saying that the US shouldn't form a coalition with our allies because we can't trust our allies?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Donnie "Do As I Say, Not As I Do" Trump:

Labels China an unfair trader and institutes a trade war with tariffs on Chinese products.......but......continues to have his clothing line and Ivanka's shoe line made in Chinese factories instead of in the US by American workers...and excludes his Chinese products from any of those tariffs...

Rails and demonizes illegal immigrants and rants about a wall to keep them out....but.....then employs them at his properties rather than hiring American workers, as illegal immigrants work cheaper...

And I'm sure he's working another hustle on his supporters now....when will they open their eyes to this cheap con-man and fraudster...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

American companies like Apple took their business to China to reduce production costs and increase profits, the role of all companies but no one forced them. It lead to the loss of American based jobs.

This is very true and all the more reason for Trump to continue the route he’s taken to stop this.

Bass, read the first sentence - it says American companies moved jobs to China to reduce costs and increase profits...

You then say Trump is trying to stop this...

So explain why Trump continues to have his clothing line made in China as does Ivanka her shoe line?

You are saying Trump is trying to stop something in reality he is actually doing...

Trump is giving business to Chinese companies, not US ones; he's employing Chinese workers, not US ones...

He's doing with his companies the exact thing you say he is trying to stop.

Explain that to us...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The problem here is in how Americans, and Trump, who embodies a subset of Americans, view time.

Trump is thinking that 2020 plus four years is a long time. That would mean a trade war for five years.

He's arguing with a nation that has a leader for life, a 5000 year history, and a population that does what they are told. Waiting out five years for the Chinese is nothing. They are long-term thinkers. And with with a Confucianism midset they are used to the idea that sometimes you will feast, and sometimes you will famine. If the people start to complain, they will make them shut up.

Conversely, after five years of a prolonged trade war, how much appetite will the Americans have to continue? Will they even let it go five years before they start to get annoyed about everything not being cheap as hell like it used to be? How quiet will the people be as the bankruptcies pile up?

A truly strategic leader understands his enemy before entering a fight. Trump is entering a war, blustering about what he considers to be a prolonged trade war, while the Chinese laugh and say to their buddy 'hold my beer'.

read the first sentence - it says American companies moved jobs to China to reduce costs and increase profits...

No thanks to the incompetency of the last 3 administrations.

Got it - President Trump is opposed to US companies moving jobs to China...

So explain why Trump continues to have his clothing line made in China as does Ivanka her shoe line?

I am not Trump’s psychiatrist, unlike liberals that think they are the experts at everything and every single thing, I’m not in his head or will speculate on what, The Who, the how many or what is or is not with any validation or backed up analysis.

Well, I'm glad you finally acknowledge the President needs a psychiatrist...but the question is, if he is opposed to moving jobs to China, then why are his and Ivanka's clothes and shoes manufactured in China?

You are saying Trump is trying to stop something in reality he is actually doing...

No, even the Democrats don’t think so, but the haters, well, they think whatever they like...lol

He's doing with his companies the exact thing you say he is trying to stop.

Explain why President Trump is opposed to moving US jobs to China, yet Businessman Trump and his daughter have all their clothing products manufactured there, in Chinese factories, with Chinese, not American, workers...

Explain that contradiction...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

What? Not sure? Come on Bass, explain this massive contradiction and hypocrisy to us;

Hmmmm.... I don’t believe there is hypocrisy at all involved in this, I think you want to make it seem as if they were at.

Says China cheats US workers out of jobs - yet gets his ties and Ivanka her shoes made in China...says don't send US jobs overseas and yet does just that - that's not a massive contradiction?

And the big con-job is there in plain sight for all to see...

At a rally in Florida on Wednesday, Trump tore into China, saying “We won’t back down until China stops cheating our workers and stealing our jobs.”

Hey Con-Man - then why are you cheating US workers and stealing their jobs by you and Ivanka having your clothing lines manufactured there?

Does this sound familiar? "Build the wall to keep out the illegal immigrants - Mexico doesn't send us their best, they're sending drug dealers, criminals, rapists...."

Yea, and you're employing them at Mar-A-Lago and your golf courses...

And another big fraud exposed - Donnie says one thing and does the exact opposite...

And as can be seen, his supporters just try to ignore it....

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The next US president will be sworn in January 2021, and sanity will then return to American trade policy.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

bass: But we have to take it up the back from China? Nope.

What's wrong with having good relations with China? They are a nuclear power, after all. We'd better watch our step. (I'm borrowing the language you use for Russia so if I made any mistakes let me know.)

I still have hope for Trump on China. They put their Muslims into camps so Trump won't have any issues there. Dictator...check....so he's good there. Both believe in a master race and are suspicious of foreigners. All of the usual hangups Trump has don't exit with China.

I'm also glad to see the conversation switch to the technology transfer and theft. Trump is talking about it so his fans are starting to repeat it which is actually a good thing since they aren't repeating factually incorrect material. He's got them saying the right things, finally.

That being said, I still think an international coalition would be better. Trump could have held off on his trade war with our allies until the China issue was solved, so all of their leverage is going to waste. Trump's problem is that building coalitions is a skill he doesn't have.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I love the picture and what it reads on the side of those containers "China Shipping" Does Trump want those containers in Long Beach or an empty wharf there. Diplomatic speak is difficult . Shouting at the Chinese is not good for business.

Designed and built by Jony Ive, a Brit? Since 1996, Jony has led Apple’s design team, the best in the world. He holds over 5,000 patents and has been recognized with numerous design awards. His best iPhone is the iPhone X.

Brilliant, Zichi. Brutal, but brilliant.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

ut it was an American who offered the salary of $2 million to allow the bridge to work in the United States for the company he invented. I think that’s more than gracious,

It doesn't matter if it was gracious or an American company, the intellectual property necessary came from a Brit.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

it’s just immediate that have been saying the wrong things as well as being dishonest, hostile and very antagonistic

What does this actually mean, though?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

That wasn’t my point. I know that and you’re making my point for me Why China can’t go on doing what it’s doing and trying to pawn off American products as their own.

Do you seriously believe this is what Hwawei is doing? They are miles ahead in 5G and it is the US that is playing catch up in an area which it used to dominate, using every dirty trick in the book.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

but the question is, if he is opposed to moving jobs to China, then why are his and Ivanka's clothes and shoes manufactured in China?

Not sure, but do you think Feinsten knew of the Chinese driver or of what he was trying to do? Why she allowed it? Strange.....

What? Not sure? Come on Bass, explain this massive contradiction and hypocrisy to us;

Explain why President Trump is opposed to moving US jobs to China, yet Businessman Trump and his daughter have all their clothing products manufactured there, in Chinese factories, with Chinese, not American, workers...

He's telling all American businesses that they shouldn't be sending jobs overseas to the Chinese, yet that's the exact thing he and Ivanka are doing.

He's starting a trade war with China for being unfair, yet allowing the Chinese to manufacture his products...

He sending US jobs to China...

In typical Trump fashion, he's caught red-handed saying one thing and doing another....

Come on Trumpers - explain that...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Amusing dose of drama at the global political stage.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Actually it does matter, because if it was sent if it didn’t and if it weren’t there then the Brit would have never even gotten the job

Then there wouldn't have been an iPhone. No Apple, no job for the Brit, no iphone. No Brit, no iPhone. Wow. It's amazing how logic evades some, or how some eschew logic instead of simply admitting they were incorrect.

Which is licensed under Apple, which is an American company a company which he signed a contract to work for and to get in exchange for his collaboration a very fat and lucrative salary.

See above.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The basic problem is that the USA can't compete anymore, so it (Trump) is resorting to tariffs, excluding companies (Huawei), etc. China can eventually withdraw from the US economy, and Japan should join China. China is the future.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

He’s not cheating the US workers, if he did then he wouldn’t be doing what he’s doing.

"He's not cheating the US workers. If he was, beef wouldn't be meat".

It's a non-sequitur.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@goodlucktoyou

"Trump will be re elected. China will be number one economy."

The actual trend is the opposite. The US economy has surged this year, while China's has slowed down. The best way to ensure authoritarian Communist China gets the No. 1 position - and becomes even more dominant -- is to put a free-trading globalist in the White House.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

All your posts on iPhones are just a deflection

No, they were not. The only thing that I said was the company known as Apple was an American company that was invented by another American, that’s the only point that I made, all the other stuff I don’t care about and is totally irrelevant. Both sides will get hurt and so I think as well as most Democrats agree with the president as well as Republicans as well as I do as an investor and as a consumer we should hang tough with China and I am glad the president is doing that. I do not care what people or the anti-American haters or the Trump haters think or say, but when you have both parties as well as millions of Americans saying, these trade imbalances need to stop and they can all come together with the president, I think that is a good thing since usually Congress can come together in anything, so I applaud all of them as well as the president for sticking together on this and I hope you push it as hard as he can.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

What? Not sure? Come on Bass, explain this massive contradiction and hypocrisy to us;

Hmmmm.... I don’t believe there is hypocrisy at all involved in this, I think you want to make it seem as if they were at.

Explain why President Trump is opposed to moving US jobs to China, yet Businessman Trump and his daughter have all their clothing products manufactured there, in Chinese factories, with Chinese, not American, workers...

As I have said before I have no idea as to the inns and outs of that, but he is the president that he can do as you please as in if he wants to change whatever business practices he’s doing at the change of a win you can do that, those of the great quirks that come with being a president.

He's starting a trade war with China for being unfair, yet allowing the Chinese to manufacture his products...

He sending US jobs to China...

And now he’s trying to kill them, thank God.

You should be excepted now!

In typical Trump fashion, he's caught red-handed saying one thing and doing another....

Come on Trumpers - explain that...

Gee, I wish there was a fee that perceptive to all of the crap that they do on a minute to minute basis, but I still believe and never giving up hope. Lol

But seriously why is it that Diane Feinstein would even consider allowing a Chinese spy to live with her and chauffeur her around, why?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

No it's not and his daughter and son-in-law are not presidents.

Exactly, so it doesn’t matter talking about them, they sure as don’t make policies.

Trump has president should really be showing the way. The fact that his "Make America Great Again " hats are Chinese made by Chinese workers is truly poor form

And it’s good liberals like you bring this up and Schumer that now are behind the President to fix this so that we don’t need to depend on China, I think so.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

China has been ruthless in its bullying tactics since joining the WTO. it’s primary advantage was it’s low labor costs. That advantage has largely disappeared. In order to shrink the extremely high trade deficits Trump has put importers on notice to shift out of China to either the US or low labor costs countries such as those in SE Asia or India. China forces countries to turn over their research and intellectual property, forces them to partner with domestic companies, and ultimately squeezes them out of the market altogether.

China doesn’t play fair. They are Communists and seek to dominate their region of the world. The rest of the world shouldn’t take their threats lightly

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

Actually Apple was founded by Jobs, Gates and Woz. So three Americans.

Exactly, which makes it exactly that, an American company everything after that was a cheaper copy version of the original innovator, these 3 Americans that made one of the greatest and most valuable companies in the world.

Then there wouldn't have been an iPhone.

But the very idea and vision and concept of what he wanted came from the mind of Steve Jobs.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

American companies like Apple took their business to China to reduce production costs and increase profits, the role of all companies but no one forced them. It lead to the loss of American based jobs.

This is very true and all the more reason for Trump to continue the route he’s taken to stop this.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Trump should be leading by example

Schumer and Graham thinks he is, so....

Both parties uniting on a common goal...imagine that...

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

That's the nature of free market capitalism. Companies are free to decide where and how they do business. Socialism encourages home grown business but capitalism is about profit.

And as someone who is a pure capital list of the furious incarnation I love it, welcome it, but at the same time you don’t allow foreign entities to come in and steal your intellectual property, Tried to steal your patents, trying to make cheap versions of the original trying to undermine your currency and whatever you can do to hurt or destroy millions of Americans that should’ve never been allowed especially when the treat wasn’t free or fair. And again I applaud Trump for taking this harsh stance.

Well, I'm glad you finally acknowledge the President needs a psychiatrist..

I never said that nor did I mention that come on now. I do think the socialist or the ones that pose themselves off as Democrats need a psychiatrist. There, I said it for the record.

but the question is, if he is opposed to moving jobs to China, then why are his and Ivanka's clothes and shoes manufactured in China?

Not sure, but do you think Feinsten knew of the Chinese driver or of what he was trying to do? Why she allowed it? Strange.....

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

The American companies knew all that before setting up shop in China and should have taken enough precautions to protect their intellectual properties or taken their business else where.

You’re making my point again for me and you had the three previous presidents and their administration that allowed the practice to continue in this president is not doing that and get on him for standing up to them, finally.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

You sure seem to know what happens in the WH without even being there

You too as well.

so I'll accept the General's version.

Ill accept Trump’s explanation.

Trump could have had his hats made in America but put profit over domestic policy.

He could have and he also could have passed that cost on to Americans making the hats more expensive, thank God he didn’t do that, but as I said, now that

liberals support him, he a hug chance to fix this as he should.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

that's not a massive contradiction?

Politicians contradict themselves all the time, listen to Adam Schiff and OAC.

At a rally in Florida on Wednesday, Trump tore into China, saying “We won’t back down until China stops cheating our workers and stealing our jobs.”

He’s right.

Yea, and you're employing them at Mar-A-Lago and your golf courses...

You keep repeating yourself and guess what? In doing so, won’t make this President go away or get him out of office, but thanks to people like you, I’m more confident than ever he will slide so easily into his second term, y’all are making it too easy for the man. Lol

And another big fraud exposed - Donnie says one thing and does the exact opposite...

All politicians to an extent do that. “You like you’re doctor, you can keep him” or “there was never a smidgen of corruption in my administration.” ROFL!

And as can be seen, his supporters just try to ignore it....

Not at all, but the fact that liberals try to point it out and waste the time doing it while the clock is irking is just beautiful gold for the GOP. You focus on the little things like the Dems are doing and the President will focus on policy. Trump/Pence 2020

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

He’s not cheating the US workers, if he did then he wouldn’t be doing what he’s doing. Remember, he’s a man who prior to becoming The president had thousands of employees and we have thousands of employees you need hundreds of managers and that every manager reports back to him to explain to him every single legal status of every single person that they employ. No one has time for that and as fallible as people are, mistakes will happen and the way our legal system is right now it’s not a surprise that something like that could happen, so if anything I blame the Democrats more than anyone else for allowing these loopholes to continue.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

It doesn't matter if it was gracious or an American company,

Actually it does matter, because if it was sent if it didn’t and if it weren’t there then the Brit would have never even gotten the job

Just like all the other leftwing Silicon Valley tech companies. Google, Amazon, Adobe, Cisco, eBay, FB, Twitter,

They're leftwing, but they’re American, which the Chinese are interested in an American product.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Are you saying that the US shouldn't form a coalition with our allies because we can't trust our allies?

No, I’m saying that China has been stealing for years our intellectual property, military secrets, manipulating their currency and on and on and it needs to stop, we can have a coalition and it should be fair and as I have said again and again, the imbalance is so great and out of control, I’m happy at least on this issue, many Dems stand with the President on this one.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

That's an interesting from someone like you. So even though most of Silicon Tech companies like are leftwing socialist at least by philosophy, because they are "American" you will defend them against the Chinese enemy.

Yes, I hate their political stance for sure and you are right, but they are still American companies that the Chinese want, try to steal or copy and pawn it off as if they were the ones that invented them.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

The Chinese government has announced that it will raise tariffs on US goods worth $60 billion by as much as 25% from June in response to Trump's tariff hike of $200 billion.

Let the battle begin.

But seriously, why would Feinstein employ a Chinese spy? For what purpose?

Explain that to us...

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Trump: "Such an easy way to avoid Tariffs? Make or produce your goods and products in the good old USA. It's very simple!"

Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda and Subaru have learned that.

China will be number one economy.

Eventually. They do have like, what is it now, 1.4 or 1.5 billion people?

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

Jony Ive's salary is never published because its not required but its a lot more than $2 million

At the initial hiring, he was paid $2 million, he turned down the offer first before that amount was offered. jobs was a gracious man with one of the most culturally influential company ever.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

The iPhone Chinese market is small. Apple can't compete with Huawei. Apple has only about 10% of the market.

That wasn’t my point. I know that and you’re making my point for me Why China can’t go on doing what it’s doing and trying to pawn off American products as their own.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Rails and demonizes illegal immigrants and rants about a wall to keep them out....but.....

He should then praise them for entering the country illegally? Hmmmm...

then employs them at his properties rather than hiring American workers, as illegal immigrants work cheaper...

A mistake which was corrected and he has to know every single employee by name? Doubt it. Even Howard Schultz doesn’t keep track of every illegal working at Starbucks.

And I'm sure he's working another hustle on his supporters now....when will they open their eyes to this cheap con-man and fraudster...

Speaking of hustle, whatever happened to that Chinese spy Feinsten had driving her around and did the Democrats come up with a policy besides stealing someone else’s money?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

I don't think anyone could call iPhones "Cheap Chinese stuff!" Not all of parts of an iPhone are made in China, some are made in America.

Doesn’t matter, Steve Jobs invented it, so everything else is a copy and the only thing that matters where the idea came from. He revolutionized the smartphone industry, not China. Hollywood creates the biggest blockbusters in the world that they want to see. Thy want Google (another US company) to help them build a software to help them make it easier to spy on their own people, so yes, we need them, but they need us just much.

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

Absolutely no skill at all is needed to threaten and force. Communication, reason, negotiation and planning taking into account the whole planet is what is needed. Right now, with Trump and Xi it's not there.

I completely agree with you, but it is very seldom when you get Democrats an Republicans on the same page and this is a very sticky subject for millions of Americans and both parties and the trade practices of China cannot continue and if they are united on this, then I do believe this is the best thing, because the previous presidents on both sides of the aisle allowed this to happen and Trump is trying to stop that and I think this is the best way, to stand up to them. They know it’s very painful for the country but the time is now to stand up to them.

It was the Brit's intellectual property that enabled Apple to sell the iPhone. Nice try indeed.

But it was an American who offered the salary of $2 million to allow the bridge to work in the United States for the company he invented. I think that’s more than gracious,

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Stick it to them China, don't do like the Western Powers (Western Wimp) and surrender to US bullying and intimidation. The US can see that its days of economic supremacy are coming to an end, as is its global dictatorship.

-7 ( +9 / -16 )

"Xi wrote a lovely letter."

""far worse for them if it has to be negotiated in my second term."

Both true!

How can anyone take him seriously from minute to minute.

The Chinese are taking him seriously now, that I can tell you.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

I have no what you are talking about. The iPhone is manufactured by Apple

Which was invented by an American in America, exactly my point.

You say the strangest at times.

Ditto.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Designed and built by Jony Ive, a Brit?

He’s just the designer that was hired by the American who created the American company Apple. Very kind and gracious of him. Again, nice try.

What's wrong with having good relations with China? They are a nuclear power, after all. We'd better watch our step. (I'm borrowing the language you use for Russia so if I made any mistakes let me know.)

What are you talking about? No one said that we shouldn’t have good relations with China, everyone has said we should have good relations with China every president including Trump, we should, I think so and that was never the problem the problem was the business practices that were allowed to continue under the previous presidents including Clinton, Bush and Obama. That has got to change and even the president has the backing from a lot of Democrats on this one.

I'm also glad to see the conversation switch to the technology transfer and theft. Trump is talking about it so his fans are starting to repeat it which is actually a good thing since they aren't repeating factually incorrect material. He's got them saying the right things, finally.

They’ve always been saying the right thing, it’s just immediate that have been saying the wrong things as well as being dishonest, hostile and very antagonistic. They keep trying in more and more people are tuning them off, thank God.

That being said, I still think an international coalition would be better. Trump could have held off on his trade war with our allies until the China issue was solved, so all of their leverage is going to waste. Trump's problem is that building coalitions is a skill he doesn't have.

Peter14: "Since those are not issues between Europe and the US nor with the other US allies, having tariff wars with those countries makes no sense." As I keep saying, on its own the US is a drop in the ocean. Until Europe gets a backbone is will continue to be a US lapdog under US orders.

Stick it to them China, don't do like the Western Powers (Western Wimp) and surrender to US bullying and intimidation.

But we have to take it up the back from China? Nope.

The US can see that its days of economic supremacy are coming to an end, as is its global dictatorship.

Sorry, but China needs the US as much as we need them. We are the largest buyer of Chinese cheap stuff. Without us, that dragon is nothing but paper and hot air.

"Since those are not issues between Europe and the US nor with the other US allies, having tariff wars with those countries makes no sense."

Why, we should continue to allow other countries to take advantage of us? Nope.

As I keep saying, on its own the US is a drop in the ocean.

When America sneezes everyone else catches a cold.

Until Europe gets a backbone is will continue to be a US lapdog under US orders.

We want Europe to get a backbone, we want Europe to fight its own battle and depend less on us and to his credit that Obama started that trend and Trump is trying to do the same, but The world is now say we are selfish and we all wait to stay close to our allies, we can’t have it both ways. Every time we try to get out, we could pulled right back in.
