I guess any work to try to get Ukraine supported is good but man this is a spineless Speaker.

Looking more and more like Trump is calling the shots.

When you go to Mar-a-Lago, it's his presidency in exile and that's why they keep turning up.

I don't think anyone has ever been under the impression that Trump hasn't been calling the shots. We've known from day one that Kevin McCarthy was in his back pocket, and same with Johnson. These men are peons, tools for The Trump to play with as he sees fit.

So, we agree on one thing. Trump could squash them like a grape.

Sure.

While he's out of jail at least.

Trump is facing two cases of election interference. The GOP is busy fighting each other.

The guy that's about to get fired meets the guy that's soon going to jail...

I'm not sure you could have two bigger Losers...

When you go to Mar-a-Lago, it's his presidency in exile and that's why they keep turning up.

They could be just interested in buying some classified documents...

lmao A presidency in exile? Hilarious. This can only be possibly true in the minds of the unwell.

MAGA is a cult, and that's why his followers "keep turning up" there.

I hope they take some questions from the press...

Even still, Trump urged Republicans to “kill” a national security surveillance bill that Johnson had personally worked to pass, contributing to a sudden defeat that sent the House spiraling this week into crisis. The legislation was approved Friday in a do-over but only after Johnson provided his own vote — a rarity for speakers who rarely vote in the chamber — before the speaker departed for Florida.

“I can’t imagine President Trump being very happy about that,” said Greene.

"In addition to your disagreement on the FISA bill, Mr Speaker what is your position on abortion?"

"Well, as a proud and strict evangelical, I believe life begins at conception - Former President Trump prefers to kill babies until the 15th week"...

"And how about Ukraine aid?"

"I'm for supporting democracy while the former President sides with the dictator in Moscow"...

"Mr Trump, do you have any comments?"

"Marjorie - file the motion now!"

“Marjorie’s actions are horrific,” said Rep. Max Miller, R-Ohio, a former Trump administration official. "They are childish. They are petulant. They have no place here in this body.”

The pattern of demagoguery is tiring to someone trained in logic. But along with Hebrew space weapons this is an example of MTG's legislative accomplishments.

There is no "extremists on both sides" and comparing her to a democratic socialist like AOC.

That this creature can hold the governmental machinery hostage is an American tragedy.

By linking the surge of migrants coming to the U.S. with the upcoming election, Trump and Johnson want to prevent noncitizens from voting

No they don't, because noncitizens can't vote, because:

— even though it’s already a federal felony for a noncitizen to cast a ballot in a federal election.

Sothis is only their usual dishonest ploy: scare tactics.

The GOP is busy fighting each other.

That’s the world of politics.

Well, no. You are supposed to be fighting the opposition, not your own party.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Well, no. You are supposed to be fighting the opposition, not your own party.

Not in a true democracy. In a true political democracy you are going to have dissensions and disagreements, that’s going to happen, that’s unavoidable. The Democrats have that as well, the difference is they just didn’t have a very slim majority and Pelosi also made sure with threats and intimidation of withholding campaign funds if they choose to run again or help for their states or districts. So her caucus had no choice but to toe the line.

The Republicans don’t have that and you’re going to have various opinions come out, fights and disagreements will arise no doubt about it. Sausage making is never pretty, not a fan, but I understand it. I love both politicians, I understand both positions, but I think they need to talk more.

You claim to be a supporter of the First Amendment.

Always.

The Freedom Caucus, MAGA, Trumpism are all symptoms of the dumbing down of American discourse.

Not according to the polls.

The polls just prove the sad reality of the American sociopolitical landscape.

Sure, inter-Repub disagreements like;

The Speaker believes life begins at conception and the Presidential nominee supports killing babies until the 15th week...

https://www.npr.org/2024/04/10/1243942019/trump-abortion-ban-arizona-supreme-court-florida-6-week-ban

One Repub member calling his Repub Speaker a "lying dog"...

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/09/20/mccarthy-government-shutdown-gaetz-00117027

Or maybe a Repub Senator saying the Repub House Speaker is a "Democrat Psyop plant"....

https://www.yahoo.com/news/ll-never-guess-joined-taylor-150457711.html

Sounds a little more serious than "dissention and disagreements"....

ROFL...

two of the biggest nuts cases in politics. mix in some marjorie taylor greene, some gaetz, some jordan and you’ve got a fruitcake.

make american fruitcake again.

Not according to the polls

The polls have got it wrong consistently. Since Trump was elected, all of the pills have over-estimated GOP support, just as they overestimated HRC's chances of winning in 2016.

Elections only count and the actually data is far less favourable to Trump.

The twerp visits the idiot to discuss a non-issue.

How very MAGA.

Greene is warning of a snap vote to oust Johnson from leadership if he allows any U.S. assistance to flow to the overseas ally.

Bring it. MTG will soon find out that she lacks the power to oust Johnson.

MTJ visits her Godfather at Mar A Lago:

Don Trump : Do you have faith in my judgement?

MTJ : Yes.

Don Trump : Do I have your loyalty?

MTJ : Yes, always Godfather.

Don Trump : Then be a friend to Michael. Do as he says.

Congress and the executive are supposed to be a coequal but separate branches of government. You’ve basically got a two-legged chair when the GOP House takes its marching orders from a blowhard who fancies himself a president in exile.

Just goes to show how eager the current GOP is to dismantle democracy and replace it with authoritarianism.

As for “illegals” voting in droves, gimme a break.

Cult nonsense.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Kissing the ring in Mar-a-Lardo has become a Republican thing, but will Mike make the same journey to pledge fealty to the Don in the pen?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

 offered a political lifeline

The Don, showing his gangster background, making an offer his sycophants cannot refuse, the Republican Party is a cult/ cabal that has forgotten about the country and is instead is looking out for what benefits their fraudster-in-chief and the rapidly declining fortunes daddy left him, he's so broke he's for sale to the highest bidder, whichever nationality. How long until Steve Bannon Roger Stone or another in the cabal comes up with one more crowdfunding scheme they can skim from, maybe selling presidential pardons in advance to all the other thugs and their followers that support the previous guy.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

That look from Trump, lol.

”I can’t believe I got stuck with this lunatic. I should have stuck with ‘my Kevin’.”

And who got the box for Mike to stand on?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

The Don, showing his gangster background, making an offer his sycophants cannot refuse, the Republican Party is a cult/ cabal

I’m trying to understand when the left use words like cult or MAGA…I mean, what’s that supposed to do? Make us feel bad, ashamed? Yeah, don’t waste your time. Sticks and stones…

that has forgotten about the country

69% feel that about this administration.

and is instead is looking out for what benefits their fraudster-in-chief and the rapidly declining fortunes daddy left him,

No, not his father, he made himself.

he's so broke he's for sale to the highest bidder, whichever nationality.

But he will remake that money in time. Hey, people need to live somewhere, right?

How long until Steve Bannon Roger Stone or another in the cabal comes up with one more crowdfunding scheme they can skim from, maybe selling presidential pardons in advance to all the other thugs and their followers that support the previous guy.

All they are doing is taking the pages of the Dems playbook and replicating it. The art of war.
