I think executive privilege goes too far in the US, especially in matters of crime and death.

17 ( +32 / -15 )

Republicans almost overthrew the legally elected governement and will do everything possible to destroy democracy in the USA. The very definition of traitors

15 ( +40 / -25 )

I think this one is dead on the first hearing in front of a judge.

13 ( +27 / -14 )

Good thing executive privilege only applies when you're president. You're not president anymore, you don't get to invoke executive privilege.

This is exactly what totally innocent people do.

11 ( +28 / -17 )

Guilty for sure, he is just using his expensive lawyers to hide as usual.

9 ( +28 / -19 )

The right-winger logic has always been "if they have nothing to hide, then why won't they talk".

Or at least it was until Trump. Now it's "overthrow the duly elected government over the will of the voters".

My how times change.

9 ( +27 / -18 )

Seen this before, contempt, of Congress, immediately go to step two.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Does that reallly sound possible to you?

Yes! Do you have any idea how close Trump got to overturning the election?

Conservatives only care about democracy in so far as they're able to attain their goals. If they're no longer able to attain their goals democratically, they'll abandon the democracy- not their goals.

See the recent voter restriction laws they've been passing. There's no widespread voter fraud. No one credible disputes that. Yet, conservatives continue to push this bills, because they know that can't win fair and free elections.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

One thing is for sure, The GOP has made the term "Constitutional Conservative" an oxymoron (spoken by just plain morons....)

8 ( +9 / -1 )

I watched a video recently of Trump in New York.

The idea that Trump is universally loathed in New York seems to be pure fiction to me.

He certainly draws a crowd.

He certainly does. A self-selecting crowd of some of the finest conspiracy theorists that America can offer.

I take it you missed the videos (widely viewable of Youtube, FYI) of people dancing in the streets not only in NYC, but THROUGHOUT the United States when the election was confirmed?

And while it may have been coincidental, there were fireworks in London and bells rang in Paris. Just sayin...

Slightly less widely reported: the sound of a ten thousand Vodka bottles opening in the Kremlin....

8 ( +9 / -1 )

As Desert correctly notes, the ID laws are designed to restrict voting by students because while a state issued College ID is not acceptable, a no photo hunting license is.

The various bodies that issue acceptable forms of ID are inaccessible in minority neighborhoods, either through distance or odd hours of operation. Funny, that....

The limitations on 24 hour voting, drive through voting and drop boxes are all designed to limit voting of younger and minority voters who tend to work during "acceptable" voting hours.

The GOP loves to talk about "voting integrity" while failing to note that there is ZERO evidence of organized or systemic voter fraud. None, nil, nada, zip, zilch.

When one points that out to them, they say "Our constituents have concerns."

Where, pray tell, did they get those concerns? Oh, yeah... From conspiracy spouting GOP talking heads and Trump wanna-bes.

It is a fact-free circular argument that is devoid of logic or evidence.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Bwahahaha. Good luck with that, Donald.

The CURRENT POTUS (eg not you) decides what and what isn’t privileged.

Normally there is deference to former office holders because the current office holder will one day be a former office holder.

I predict this time will be different. Let’s be clear: You attempted a slow motion coup to overturn the results of a free, fair and secure election that you lost. When that didn’t work, you incited an insurrection to overthrow a legally elected co-equal branch of government to prevent it from certifying said election.

Now you are trying to cover your tracks as poorly as you plotted to stay in power. But just because you stunk at it doesn’t mean it wasn’t a crime. It’s not going to work.

You are going to be laughed out of court, the depths of your craven greed and self-interest will be laid bare for all to see, and there will be a reckoning.

Oh yes, there WILL be a reckoning.

7 ( +23 / -16 )

In October 2020, the Arizona Republican Party appeared to ask supporters to consider giving their lives to keep Trump in office, retweeting Alexander’s pledge on Twitter that he was “willing to give my life for this fight.”

The GOP resembles the taliban more than the family party is once tried to show itself to be.

Jan 6 was the most serious challenge to America since the Civil war and these traitors need to be punished!!!

7 ( +21 / -14 )

Sure, he can try, but it's not going to fly.

7 ( +20 / -13 )

This is not the first time Trump lose money in his business. He did not focus on business for last 4 years, He was saving our nation

Sending in terrorists to attack The Capitol is a funny way to save the nation.

Though his businesses profited greatly from the presidency, his salary is a pittance compared to the money the government spent at his hotels and resorts!!

7 ( +17 / -10 )

It's pretty crazy if you read some of the details of the report.

He tried frivolous lawsuits that got him nowhere so he went to the DOJ and told them to make a false statement that the election was corrupt. Rosen told Trump to take a flying leap so Trump tried to replace him with a lackey who would do just that, but was warned it would be so outrageous there would be mass resignations and others would refuse to go along with it.

He called the states and pressured them to "find votes" which didn't work. He tried to get the states to throw out the slate of delegates who cast the EC votes and replace them with his own, and they would switch the states votes to Trump. Which has no basis in anything, just plan craziness.

Then he finally told Mike Pence to not certify the results of some states, thereby giving Trump more EC votes than Biden. Pence refused.

Then came January 6 where he told his fans to march to the Capitol and fight.

It really is scary how far this man went, and it's scary that people still support him despite openly trying to subvert democracy in the United States. He is an enemy to our country and our system.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

It's tragic that this man, this charlatan, this snake oil salesman, came so close to successfully staging a coup in one of the most powerful countries of the world. Now, nothing can be done or said about January 6th and nobody's punished because of the subservient Republican enablers in the senate & congress who have and continue to allow this charlatan to run roughshod over the constitution. If Trump does become president in 2024, the possibility of a dictatorship once again raises its ugly head, especially if a majority of Republicans are in control of the senate and congress. Trump and his litter of right-wing lap dogs have already stacked the U.S. Supreme Court with republican hacks, which means that the 3 branches of the government (executive, legislative & judicial) could all be firmly in Republican hands. What a scary thought! January 6th may have just been a warm-up for the really big show to come. As for history repeating itself, such an event would also make it quite similar to what happened back in the 1930s in Germany when a washed up artist-architect rose to the very top with the help of his loyal followers on a wave of violence. Anything's possible.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Former President Trump - you have a new message from yourself (President Trump) in 2017.....

He says; “If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” Only "the mob" hides behind the law and it's "disgraceful".....

He also calls you a "Loser" for blowing the 2020 election....

7 ( +8 / -1 )

There is no widespread voter suppression either.

Laughably, objectively false.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Oh, and the "voter restriction" laws you mention will not restrict any American citizen from voting.

Access to the necessary IDs is highly restricted for the rural poor and minorities. The poor living in rural communities are often far from the offices that issue the IDs. The poor often use public transit and the offices hours are short. Many are not open every day. To get the necessary ID many poor will have to miss work and lose a day's income, a hardship many cannot afford, and pay money to take public transit if it is even available. Where I live the bus to the larger city with a Social Security Office only runs three times a week at 6 in the morning or again at 6 in the evening. You actually need three buses to get near the SS office and no bus actually goes there, so one would have to walk a couple of miles after getting off the bus. That is it. For the disabled it is harder still. Right now the office is not permitting in person visits due to Covid. To get a birth certificate one may have to travel to another county or even another state if they do not have their original (do you?)

Voting is a right. It is not like buying something on credit. Every citizen has a right to vote and no level of government has any righ putting up impediments like ID rules that the legislators know full well ahead of time will be hard for the poor and minority groups to get is a deliberate attempt to prevent them from voting.

This study does a very good job of detailing the discriminatory effects of voter ID laws in the states where they are being implemented.

Democrats failed in two impeachment attempts

It’s gotta sting when you have to totally deny reality to avoid the truth that he was impeached twice. Fact.

There have been only 4 impeachments in US Presidential history, 2 of which were on the last guy. Fact.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

That Trump is still at large, free to spout more lies and dangerous nonsense while the DOJ sits on its hands, shows down what dark paths Americans' Potus-worship can take the country merely with a nod and a wink from a self-interested ruling political establishment that privileges entitlement over justice. Treating those who were once employed as presidents as royalty makes a mockery of the principle "equal before the law". Letting Trump get away with "executive privilege" is tantamount to setting impunity in stone. It seems Americans never learn in school the wisdom of some of the more enlightened "Founding Fathers":

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.

(Thomas Jefferson)

LOCK HIM UP to SHUT HIM UP!

6 ( +8 / -2 )

What is he afraid of?

Openly bragging about his crimes and basically digging a bigger hole for himself.

Jesus, just look at that close-up photo.

5 ( +21 / -16 )

He keeps committing more crimes.

There is only one president, therefore only one executive privilege.

And it ain't trump.

https://today.law.harvard.edu/can-donald-trump-still-assert-executive-privilege/

5 ( +22 / -17 )

What is he afraid of?

the truth coming out

5 ( +16 / -11 )

Hmmmm.....Trump trying to hide behind the law.....interesting what some folks think of that....

“The mob takes the Fifth,” Trump said at one campaign rally in September 2017. “If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

He was largely targeting former staffers for Hillary Clinton who pleaded the Fifth during the investigation into her use of a private email server while she was secretary of State.

*Trump also called staffers pleading the Fifth “disgraceful” and “a bigger deal than Watergate” **at different points during the campaign.*

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/384937-trump-comments-on-fifth-amendment-resurfaced-after-cohen-filing

Welcome to MAGA-world...

5 ( +14 / -9 )

so Trump is well within his rights to tell the baying mob to get lost

So sorry to burst your (right-wing) bubble, but that is not how it works.

Condolences.

5 ( +17 / -12 )

Democrats Liberals are just mad that they will once again fail at trying to get this man on some bogus Trumped up charges, this has been going on for years and you think they would have learned by now, but no……

But dear sir, these are real charges.

Attacking democracy is not allowed you know, especially in democracies!!!

Look over the last 30 years they had at it, so…..

30 years ago he was a failed businessman, the courts did step in to stop him from sponging off others.

He had to sell off his planes, yachts things he could not afford but still kept!

There are plenty of crooked, failed businessmen and the government doesn't have time for all of them.

Now he is a failed president who tried to overthrow democracy and hold on to power illegally, the stakes are different.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

No, there was no voter fraud. Plenty of subsequent laws designed to suppress urban and minority voting in the next election because of the shellacking Donald took in the last one.

The GOP is so radioactive to the non-white, non-rural, younger electorate that it is no longer capable of winning at the national level.

That is why over 30 laws have been passed to suppress voting in GOP run states because when Americans vote in large numbers, Republicans lose.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Anyone else here notice the attempt to deflect from the article about attempts to invoke executive privilege out of office?

There is a simple reason: There is no good argument to support it. Trump is going to try. He is going to lose and they know it.

Thus the attempts to drive the thread down the rabbit hole towards an early closure.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

So why were the Dems silent when the Feds went after Trump?

Because he was colluding with an unfriendly country to undermine American democracy!

Yeah, if he were a failure of the absolute order, Dems wouldn’t be after him the way they are and failing every single time.

But dear sir he was a failure with 6 bankruptcies, more losses than any other person in America!!!

If that were true, the Dems would leave him alone,

Dear sir, even if he failed to commit a crime, he still tried to commit a crime!!!

We cannot turn a blind eye because he fails at everything.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

The Nixon-Trump parallels are quite amazing...

Both are/were insecure, vain, and arrogant...

Both committed crimes while in office; Nixon suborning the Watergate break-in, and Trump tax/insurance fraud and election interference...

Both are tied to sleezy Roger Stone....

Both we're undone by tapes - Nixon on the break-in, Trump on the call to Raffensberger...

Both tried/are trying to use Executive privilege to shield and hide their crimes but did/will fail...

The differences;

Nixon was smart while Trump is definitely simple-minded...

Nixon was intelligent enough to go into seclusion after his humiliation....Trump's vanity and narcissistic personality disorder won't allow him to do that...

There's no Gerald Ford to pardon Trump - he'll soon be indicted for his crimes - and a cell is waiting for him at Rikers Island....

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Send in the police to collect the records.

4 ( +20 / -16 )

Donald Trump intends to assert executive privilege in a congressional investigation into the Jan 6 insurrection at the Capitol, a move that could prevent the testimony of onetime aides, according to a letter sent by lawyers for the former president.

This man cannot open his mouth without lying, so not a surprise he is scared of testifying!!!

4 ( +18 / -14 )

Now they are saying that he lost in his business... Yes he did not become president for making money of expanding business. He did not focus on his business but focused on making the nation stronger richer and safer ..

All of his businesses lose money. He’s good at lying and fooling people into believing otherwise.

So he is out of the Forbes list.

Yes, he is and I bet he’s more upset at that than anything that happened during his one term presidency.

4 ( +17 / -13 )

This is beyond pathetic, the reason why trump does ALL this cram is for one reason:

So he doesnt end up in JAIL!!!

THAT was a why he ran for the repubs in the first place, he needed it, so he could keep investigators & debt holders away from his businesses & he continues to do this since he LOST so HUGE in 2020!

He is just trying to keep outta jail! And so many repubs are blind to this, beyond scary at this point, clearly he will willingly set his own country on FIRE rather than face the music!!!

4 ( +15 / -11 )

Why the lost right wing folks still worship this immoral and throughly corrupt loser is just amazing. Of course he potted the coop, he was there and told the crowds to march on the Capital but then disappeared after saying to the MAGA traitors he would be at the Capital with them to take back the government. He is not smart enough to hide his plan to overthrow the US government.

This is the perfect example of what saps the Trump followers are, they are like the WWE followers who think the matches are real. So sad as their Dear Leader would so often say.

4 ( +15 / -11 )

Well, I predict Trump will succeed in this court challenge - I mean, just look at that win/loss trial record challenging the election (0/62).....

And he has great lawyers...."the "best".....

Later today, Rudy Giuliani will be holding a press conference - in a lumber yard across from an adult bookstore....

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/11/four-seasons-total-landscaping-trump-team-news-conference.html

And Sidney Powell has assured everyone that The Kraken will "absolutely, positively show up this time"....even though her defense in her Dominion defamation trial is "no rational person should believe anything I say"....

Welcome to MAGA-world....

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Well, I predict Trump will succeed in this court challenge - I mean, just look at that win/loss trial record challenging the election (0/62).....

Look over the last 30 years they had at it, so…..

To borrow a phrase, What? Thirty years ago Trump was a NYC Lib/Dem and 10 years ago he was saying nice things about Hillary....

*In 2012, as Obama was running for re-election, Trump called Clinton “terrific” again in an interview with Fox News, saying she performed well as Secretary of State.*

*“Hillary Clinton I think is a terrific woman,” he told Greta Van Susteren. “I am biased because I have known her for years. I live in New York. She lives in New York. I really like her and her husband both a lot. I think she really works hard. And I think, again, she’s given an agenda, it is not all of her, but I think she really works hard and I think she does a good job. I like her.*

https://time.com/3962799/donald-trump-hillary-clinton/

Now, tell us - if Trump thinks hiding behind the law is "disgraceful" and something "the mob" does - why is he doing it now?

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Let's not be delusional that the US government and US politics is or has become worse. It has always been rotten. JFK got his head blown off! US politics has always been nasty. Nothing new, the big difference is us bickering at each other over social media that makes it seem worse. We are actually enabling and making it easier for those that wish to lead us to conflict. They don't need to try so hard or invest so much anymore.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

To borrow a phrase, What? Thirty years ago Trump was a NYC Lib/Dem and 10 years ago he was saying nice things about Hillary....

Nadler was still trying to get him on a bunch of other tax issues and failed…..

And you should be happy - at that time one Dem/Lib going after another....right?

Now, tell us - if Trump thinks hiding behind the law is "disgraceful" and something "the mob" does - why is **he** doing it now?

Ask him, none of us are clairvoyants...

Well done - it takes courage to admit defeat and that you can't explain/excuse it. You, I, and Trump all agree; this Executive Privilege stunt is "disgraceful" and something "the mob" would do.....

4 ( +6 / -2 )

So why are the Dems abandoning the American people, the border, Afghanistan and now even going after parents that are concerned about their children's education, they could be arrested by the Feds? This is insane! There goes democracy out the window.

None of the above is even a little bit true but not living here you would not know that. The fate of Afghanistan was sealed with a previous President negotiated a withdrawal with the Taliban without consulting the Afghan government and then agreed to release 5000 Taliban prisoners, one of whom was among the bombers at Kabul Airport. I do not see how an infrastructure bill to rebuild aging American infrastructure so the US can be competitive in the future is abandoning Americans. And some of us would rather have a poor but grateful immigrant for neighbor than a self absorbed entitled bigot. Just saying, but then I come from a family of immigrants. My grandparents didn't have permission to come here. They just showed up. That is how it was done. One grandmother never spoke a word of English. Oh the horror. My wife and step daughter are immigrants. I don't have a lot of patience for those who disparage them. I am being polite. I am not ready to abandon the words on the Statue of Liberty. Immigrants are America's great strength and always have been.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I dont think Trump should try to use executive privilege. I would love to see him testify, if only for the entertainment value.

We’re in agreement here. It’d be highly entertaining. I’m laughing already in fact.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

So why were the Dems silent when the Feds went after Trump? They always brag about democracy especially when it involves their own…...

Exhibit A in defection due to not having any defensible argument.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

and just like he’s going to get impeached and removed, yeah, we heard it all before….lol

You’ve seen it too. Twice in fact. He was impeached. Twice. 50% of all the impeachments in American history.

I find it hard to believe you are still confused by the specifics of impeachment, all this time later. lol.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Collar looks a little tight, like a pinched sausage. How could you trust someone who looks like that?

3 ( +17 / -14 )

One of the few pieces of good news going forward is that when he is held to account in the criminal justice system, he won’t be able to fall back on 50 invertebrate Eunichs to ignore the evidence or even to call witnesses.

Criminal procedure will be followed. Precedent honored. The rule of law will prevail.

All-in-all, not good news for Trump and his merry band of morons.

3 ( +16 / -13 )

Fun Fact: Failing at attempting a crime does not make one innocent of conspiracy to commit said crime. Nor are they innocent of attempting to commit said crime.

Just a heads up there, Donald. I feel like the z-list “lawyers” you can still get to rep you really OUGHT to know this but don’t…

3 ( +15 / -12 )

Now they are saying that he lost in his business... Yes he did not become president for making money of expanding business. He did not focus on his business but focused on making the nation stronger richer and safer ..

So he is out of the Forbes list.

Very strong defense of the former guy , but fact is his hotels, resorts benefited greatly from government officials staying there. He tried his best to milk his presidency to benefit his failing company.

Fact is he is just bad at business, so not a surprise Forbes dropped him from the list.

If we can have a look at his taxes, we’ll realize he never deserved to be on the list.

3 ( +14 / -11 )

Democrats failed in two impeachment attempts, conspired to create a false "Russia interference" narrative, and are back for one more bite at the apple. Good

Let's fix this for accuracy, shall we?

"Republicans refused to convict in two impeachment attempts in spite of overwhelming evidence of his guilt, reported on a confirmed "Russia interference" attempt as reported by a bi-partisan commission in the Senate. And are back to make him face the consequences of his actions now that he cannot have his toadies cover for him. Good"

To be fair, you did get the "Good" part correct....

3 ( +7 / -4 )

And you should be happy - at that time one Dem/Lib going after another....right?

And?

And - you failed to answer the question...Trump was a Lib then, so was Nadler - you should be happy, right?

Well done - it takes courage to admit defeat

Still waiting for the Dems apology….

As we're waiting for yours - couldn't answer an easy question - Why is Trump doing something now that he said three years ago only "the mob" did and was "disgraceful"?

and that you can't explain/excuse it. You, I, and Trump all agree; this Executive Privilege stunt is "disgraceful" and something "the mob" would do.....

Ok

Thanks for agreeing with me....just remember it before you type a future post disagreeing with yourself...

3 ( +5 / -2 )

And - you failed to answer the question...Trump was a Lib then, so was Nadler - you should be happy, right?

Why? I just care that they continue to fail to get this guy, they’re running out of alleged crimes.

Not what the NYSD Attorney and Manhattan Prosecutor say...and Weisselberg...

As we're waiting for yours - couldn't answer an easy question - Why is Trump doing something now that he said three years ago only "the mob" did and was "disgraceful"?

Why are you asking me? Ask him.

BINGO! A surrender - can't answer or defend it...

Thanks for agreeing with me

I didn’t.

MAGA-world, where "OK" doesn't mean OK....

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Yeah, if he were a failure of the absolute order, Dems wouldn’t be after him the way they are and failing every single time.

But sir, failing to commit a crime is still a crime!!

If that were true, the Dems would leave him alone, 3 bestsellers, a 14 year hit rated TV show, the Presidency and now rising in popularity once again in post Presidency

Dear sir, democrats are fine with him failing at his businesses, but when he tries to commit crimes to support his failing businesses it's a problem. Jerry Springer too had a hit TV show, Stephanie Grisham has written a bestseller so not really relevant, don't you think.

If that is the case a lot of Dems should be waiting in line if we are incarcerate someone based on intent, then Trump has absolutely nothing to worry about.

I applaud your optimism dear sir, though the former guy is worried. Looks like Executive Privilege in his case doesn't have a leg to stand on.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

He might change his mind if they get a good-looking young woman to appear in court.

2 ( +15 / -13 )

He’s a Buffon at business that’s why.

So he is out of the Forbes list.

I dont think Trump should try to use executive privilege. I would love to see him testify, if only for the entertainment value.

As for voter supression, people like GdTokyo seem to be a touch, how can I say, 'paternalistic' towards minority voters. Treat them as though they are too dumb or lazy to get an ID or find their way to the polls. Do you really have such a low opinion of them?

Two facts for you;

Americans of all colours support voter ID laws. 80% of Americans, including 62% of Democrats, support voter ID according to Forbes magazine.

Minority support for Trump was higher than previous GOP candidates. Perhaps because they are tired of the BS pumped at them by the media, of being ignored by the Democrats, and prefer to live in a nation with a strong economy.
-3 ( +2 / -5 )

There's no way there could be a fair trial in the current political environment, so Trump is well within his rights to tell the baying mob to get lost.

-4 ( +11 / -15 )

I watched a video recently of Trump in New York.

The idea that Trump is universally loathed in New York seems to be pure fiction to me.

He certainly draws a crowd.

He will run in 2024. Ego alone will assure that. But I think the past is too much to overcome. He would be better off getting behind another Republican candidate. He can still wield influence from that position and any half way decent Republican with some element of appeal to black voters that can also carry an increasingly onboard hispanic vote has a very solid shot of winning.

If Biden or Harris are anywhere near it, the Democrats are finished. From their point of view, they need to replace both of them in 2024 with an entirely new ticket. There are plenty of better options on the Democrat side.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

otherwise Biden will be using it too and it’s fair and fine.

zichiToday  08:57 am JST

Trump's business is leaking like a broken tap and debt payments are due of more than $500 million. His Scottish business is almost bankrupt.

Well every business ... there is up and down ( except the political business, Eg: Which Biden was doing for 40 years and is doing now ) This is not the first time Trump lose money in his business. He did not focus on business for last 4 years, He was saving our nation

Not true. It's the law. Trump received his monthly paycheck but decided to donate the money elsewhere.

Here is the FORBES link. he donated back to USA govt. aka USA govt..... What a Trump hater you are???? read the article...

https://www.forbes.com/sites/adamandrzejewski/2021/02/27/president-donald-trump-probably-donated-his-entire-16m-salary-back-to-the-us-government--here-are-the-details/?sh=41b4485d1a8d

So he is out of the Forbes list.

Guess it will bother Trump.

Never. It will not bother him as he did serve the nation and saved the nation even leaving his business. Other wise he would not have opted to become president.

Democrats failed in two impeachment attempts, conspired to create a false "Russia interference" narrative, and are back for one more bite at the apple. Good luck to them.

I am constantly amazed at the hyperventilating and pearl-clutching about the January 6 riot. Anyone who seriously believes that 'our democracy' was actually under threat needs to take some yoga classes. A group of yahoos decides to break in to the Congress. No guns, no manifesto, no plan. Just fed on frustration and anger. None have been prosecuted (to my knowledge) of insurrection, treason, etc. Mostly charges relating to criminal trespass and assault on police. Both bad things to do, but not an actual threat to the government.

To borrow a phrase, What? Thirty years ago Trump was a NYC Lib/Dem and 10 years ago he was saying nice things about Hillary....

Nadler was still trying to get him on a bunch of other tax issues and failed…..

*Now, tell us - if Trump thinks hiding behind the law is "disgraceful" and something "the mob" does - why is he doing it now?*

Ask him, none of us are clairvoyants, but the fact of the matter is, you would think after 30 years these people would learn in order to convict someone a crime needs to be committed and if they can’t establish that in 30 years, they can by and before November of next year? Yeah, ok….

Democrats Liberals are just mad that they will once again fail at trying to get this man on some bogus Trumped up charges, this has been going on for years and you think they would have learned by now, but no……

Let them try and fail once again, maybe this time they’ll get through their heads, they can’t stop him from running and they don’t have anything on the guy, if they did, he would have been locked up a long time ago. So now the left has to be more inventive to try and snag this guy and time is not on their side as they are about to lose the house next year so it’s on to whatever they can find to try and take this guy out.

Good luck. Lol

Well, I predict Trump will succeed in this court challenge - I mean, just look at that win/loss trial record challenging the election (0/62).....

Look over the last 30 years they had at it, so…..

It’s gotta sting when you have to totally deny reality to avoid the truth that he was impeached twice. Fact.

And the cooling fact he was acquitted twice.

There have been only 4 impeachments in US Presidential history, 2 of which were on the last guy. Fact.

Ok, but the main thing he was acquitted on the typical bogus charges and for life.

It took a while, but Godwin's Law can finally be invoked here. Thank you, Stormcrow. I am surprised though, that you have such little faith in the strength of America's political institutions. They could survive Civil War, unrest, world wars, yet somehow a "charlatan snake oil salesman" will be able to overthrow them and institute a totalitarian regime.

Does that reallly sound possible to you?

These days, Trump has only a few uses. One is to generate a LOT of clicks, comments, and chatter on news sites like Japan Today. Another is to continue his rent-free living in the collective heads of those who are so afraid of him.

Trump loses $600 million and dropped out of the Forbes list for the top 400 richest people. Could be facing criminal charges over the Georgia election.

The left media was saying that Trump made billions of Dollars as President. Even the comments teams of left and democrats always accused Trump for receiving nearly billion USD from China. The Russia there are many more.... Even they accused Ivanka making money for Trump. ha hah ha ...

When Trump was President he did not even received his salary ( just one dollar only)

Now they are saying that he lost in his business... Yes he did not become president for making money of expanding business. He did not focus on his business but focused on making the nation stronger richer and safer ..

So he is out of the Forbes list.

Takeda; No, I don't have any idea how close he came to overturning the election results. I don't think he did, actually. And the mediocre performance of the rioters on Jan 6 is proof of it. They were just a mob of idiots.

Oh, and the "voter restriction" laws you mention will not restrict any American citizen from voting. Actually (and ironically) they will bring Americal closer to the global standard in elections. All western European countries and other democracies have voter ID provisions, as well as stricter rules about absentee voting and postal voting. Don't you want the US to be more in line with those enlightened countries?

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Yes! Do you have any idea how close Trump got to overturning the election?

But it was ok, for Comey and the FBI and agents like Strzok, McCabe, Page and Ohr to try and take out a duly elected President? Why?

Conservatives only care about democracy in so far as they're able to attain their goals.

Seems like the Dems are doing the exact same thing right as we speak.

If they're no longer able to attain their goals democratically, they'll abandon the democracy- not their goals. *

So why are the Dems abandoning the American people, the border, Afghanistan and now even going after parents that are concerned about their children's education, they could be arrested by the Feds? This is insane! There goes democracy out the window.

See the recent voter restriction laws they've been passing. There's no widespread voter fraud.

There is no widespread voter suppression either.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

And you should be happy - at that time one Dem/Lib going after another....right?

And?

Well done - it takes courage to admit defeat

Still waiting for the Dems apology….

and that you can't explain/excuse it. You, I, and Trump all agree; this Executive Privilege stunt is "disgraceful" and something "the mob" would do.....

Ok so what does the rant have to do with the lefts continued failed attempt at trying to get this guy. 30 years and still failing…..smh….

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Laughably, objectively false.

ok, so we have no voter fraud and no voter oppression, we are good to go.
