Trump, himself under the cloud of his impeachment trial in the Senate, appears poised to offer Netanyahu some needed help in the form of the most generous American peace proposal ever

Given Trump's foremost concern has always been getting richer (while paying off debts to international 'financiers') it's hard not to think he and his syndicate have been negotiating more property deals with Netanyahu, a fellow conman, perhaps on lands yet to be 'annexed'. What else has Jared been arranging during his trips there.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh denounced the still-unpublished proposal again Monday in Ramallah, saying it “doesn't constitute a basis for resolving the conflict.” He said the plan violates international law and "comes from a party that has lost its credibility to be an honest broker in a serious and genuine political process.”

The Palestinian's have never gotten over the lessons, and motivation, they learned from the Grand Mufti Mohammed Amin al-Husseini. Palestinians will never agree to the existence of Israel.

The Pals also haven't gotten over getting their butts kicked by Israel in FOUR successive wars. They need to be grateful to still be alive and take what they are given.

Plus, you can blame their 'brothers' in the Arab/Muslim world, who do nothing to actually help the Palestinians. With the exception of Jordan, the rest treat the Palestinians terribly. It would have been an easy matter for the other Muslim nations to absorb the Palestinian refugee population into their countries, but instead they chose to leave them in camps.

Bingo

"The Palestinians" here simply means "muslim Arabs". Because other "Palestinians" (Jews, Christian, Arabs, Druses, etc. have no problem with the existance of Israel.) Note that the original UN resolution 181 also talked about "2 Palestinian peoples" (meaning muslim Arabs and Jews). The use of the term "Palestinians" to mean muslim Arabs only was started by Arafats PLO as an (immensely effective, as it turns out) tool to delegitimize Israel rethorically.

So I wish we could stop accepting this rethorical device.

Attempting to negotiate with the Palestinians is as futile as negotiating with North Korea. They want Israel gone - period. No other outcome is acceptable to them. Until the terrorists give up their Islamist ideology this is a kabuki show.

zichi - The Trump-Kushner plan is offering less than previous plans and already rejected by the Palestinians.

The Palestinians will reject any/every plan that allows for Israel to exist. The Palestinians admiration for the Nazis final solution has never wavered.

Why do you say that? Many Palestinian groups have said they will accept a two-state solution. Surveys of the general populations suggest Palestinians to be more in favor of a two-state solution than Israelis.

Possibly. But they will definitely reject a plan that cedes Palestinian occupied land to Israel.

Why do you say that? Which groups, and when? This might be a huge revelation, if true. Has Hamas changed their charter? Have they ever agreed to allow Israel to exist?

Hamas does not represent the views of all Palestinians, in the same way that Likud does not represent the views of all Israelis.
