Does Trump ever say anything intelligent?

"Sort of a democrat".

In Trump's world, that's one of the worst insult ever. Mattis is toast.

Trump On Democrats Feb 18:  "And un-American. Un-American. Somebody said, 'treasonous.' I mean, yeah, I guess, why not? Can we call that treason? Why not! I mean they certainly didn't seem to love our country very much."

Trump on SECDEF Mattis Oct 18:  "I think he's sort of a Democrat, if you want to know the truth."

Ergo; a 4 star Marine General who has given 44 years of service defending his country is "Un-American".

The Creepy Porn President again shows us how stupid and utterly clueless he is...

Mattis is not so much a Democrat as an adult. Trump confuses the two, thinking that anybody who disagrees with him for any reason is a Democrat.

This marks the first time that the Republican president has publicly said anything negative about Mattis

HHHMMM, What was negative? I didn't read anything negative.

Bi-partisanship is supposed to be good though, isn't it? Republicans getting on with Democrats in order to get things done? Wait a moment - Trump's devoted fans here are always going on about how Democrats are basically the lowest form of life on the planet so it must be bad if Mattis is sort of a Democrat.

It's the start of building up reasons to when Mattis eventually leaves

I'm going to borrow a quote from Douglas Adams and change the names because it applies so well here...

One of the major difficulties Mattis experienced in his relationship with Trump was learning to distinguish between him pretending to be stupid just to get people off their guard, pretending to be stupid because he couldn't be bothered to think and wanted someone else to do it for him, pretending to be outrageously stupid to hide the fact that he actually didn't understand what was going on, and really being genuinely stupid.

"a book by Watergate reporter Bob Woodward that portrayed Mattis privately disparaging Trump to associates. Mattis has strongly denied making any such remarks."

Mattis should sue Woodward.

Bi-partisanship is supposed to be good though, isn't it?

That is what Trump was saying in 2016 before he was elected. He didn't even care at the time which party had the majority in Congress. How much of this is political, who knows ? Mattis has also supposedly talked about challenging the president in 2020.

Yep James Mattis as a Democrat would be the only chance Dems have at the Presidency any time soon. Should look into that, I would vote for him over a joke such as Michael Avenatti or Joe Biden
