Nah, bass. If your boy were any good he would have produced something by now. They are a million miles apart on a deal with China, North Korea, Palestine, etc.
Useless at this level.
SuperLib
Right mission, wrong man for the job.
When Trump produced some vague statement saying China would buy more with no amounts or dates everyone knew he was being taken for a ride. Everyone except Trump.
CrazyJoe
China is well aware of how crazy and unreliable Trump is. They are simply biding their time until he's out of office so they can deal with a rational, intelligent president.
Wait, I thought, "trade wars are easy to win?"
Strangerland
China may be trying to wait out his presidency - it's not like they can't, since they have no looming election on their own horizon. But I can't also wonder if they're not hoping to get it resolved during Trump's presidency, knowing they will likely bet a better from Trump deal due to his weak negotiation skills.

Trump finally honest-ing up, admitting he's being out maneuvered. But given his numerous business failures and the reality that he had to be rescued from his long list of financial failures by foreign 'syndicates' that's probably to be expected.
In way over his head. On all issues. Corrupt businessman, corrupt politician.

Sure got Mexico to pay for that wall....
Sure got North Korea to give up its nukes...
Sure stopped Iran from going nuclear...
Sure got Russia out of Ukraine and Crimea...
Sure signed a bunch of arms treaties....
Sure got Putin to stop interfering in our elections...well, maybe he wants Putin to continue interfering....

Only complete and utter morons think that a guy who would have be far richer than he is now had he simply sat on the property he inherited from daddy instead of playing businessman is a successful businessman.
These same complete and utter morons blame Obama for the actions of Bush II and other republicans and refuse to acknowledge that Obama kicked off the current bull market.
I say again: Obama is completely irrelevant to this story, which means any mention of him is engaging in the conversation in bad faith.

Another example of the Dimwit playing right into the hands of the leaders of these other countries.
Kim has him wrapped around his little finger - what is it, three meetings now - each one giving more legitimacy to Kim's regime. And he continues to enlarge his nuclear arsenal and missiles keep flying. Utter Failure...
Now he gives Xi exactly what he wants - an arrogant US that he can hold up and demonize to the Chinese public - he's already doing it with the Hong Kong protests - now with trade - all fanning nationalism and increasing support for the Communist Party.
It's as if these leaders made a cardboard cutout of the perfect US President for them - a clown, a buffoon, prone to ranting and raving - and they clearly know Trump's racist insults against people of color in America can easily morph into those targeting Asians - just what they need to rally their people - the West again insulting and humiliating us.
And it goes without saying he's the perfect President for Putin....
Donnie - the dictators favorite Dimwit...

News Release from the White House today on China Trade....
Today President Trump names a new envoy and Special Representative on trade with China - Ivanka Trump...
President Trump states; "Ivanka has the experience to take on this key role - I mean, look at all the Chinese handbags she has sold at Macy's. More importantly, she'll be a tough negotiator - she'll get the best deal on all the ties and shoes that our Trump brands get made in Chinese sweatshops instead of by US workers."

How's Mexico paying for the wall working out? President Babybrains can't even negotiate a decent haircut, as we can plainly see.
PTownsend
Why would Obama build Trump's Wall? Republican operative Roger Stone (currently being held on a $250,000. criminal release bond) was the one who proposed it to Trump, knowing it would attract even more white nationalists to support Trump.
Didn't Trump tell his supporters Mexico would pay for it? If so, why are US citizens paying for it.
Sneezy
Is Mexico paying for a wall?
Strangerland
Nope. American has been clear they don't want it. The border states have been clear they don't want it. Trump wants it, so it's Trump's wall.
Sneezy
So that's a no.
Strangerland
There is no 'may' about it. They are controlled by the government. Even the Chinese government doesn't try to pretend otherwise anymore.
IloveCoffee
The Chinese government cannot force Chinese people to buy American agricultural products, you silly orange goose. Does Trump think the Chinese government can just order their citizens what to buy? China is communist only on paper and name, but on practice, they are more capitalist in many ways than even America is right now. In many ways it's more easy to do business in China than in America. They don't have 10 agencies approving your home-made lemonade for sell, or whether the grass you want to build something on is sacred. In America, it can take up to several years just to get a permission to start building something, and then they wonder why is the rent so high. While the Chinese government is still authoritarian, they have significant degree of economic freedom, and an ever more increasing degree of property rights protection. The Chinese government cannot just order their citizens to buy one product over another. They can subsidize or ban products, but not order people what to buy. If Chinese people do not want to buy American products, there isn't much you can do about it.
Trump's combative and arrogant mannerism can be irritating, however i do believe it is calculated. Like i've said before, Trump wants to use this trade deal just in time for the 2020 elections. He will probably keep playing games until the time is right, and then try to rush a deal just on time for the elections. It would be funny if his plan backfired on him. If the Chinese figure out that Trump wants to use this trade deal badly to win the elections, they could purposefully hold it in and refuse to sign a deal, that would put Trump in a bad light, and it could cost him the elections, especially if it causes a stock market fall.
The biggest irony of all is that everything Trump wants from China is actually beneficial for China, and harmful for America. China needs to liberalize their economy more, but doing so will be very harmful to America, at least in the short term.
SuperLib
Trump only has 2 modes: appeaser or antagonizer. He's got nothing in the middle.
There's got to be a way for both countries to come to an agreement while saving face since that's the only way either side would agree to it. Trump's rhetoric makes that more difficult. And they are a million miles apart on a deal. I want him to go after China but I want him to be effective. I'll even give him more leeway since we are genuinely getting screwed. But he has nothing to show for it so far.
Same with North Korea. They haven't moved an inch after seeing US demands. Trump presented his list and the meeting immediately ended and Trump left. That's how it went. And all he does is parise and give concessions.
And then there's Iran, where Trump has no idea what he's doing. He's pushing Iran further and further away and making the possibility of things like inspections more remote. If he's pushing for a deal where the US gets access 24/7 to every inch of Iran for eternity then let's just say again....a million miles apart.
The Middle East. Two million miles apart.
The guy just doesn't get things done at this level.
Strangerland
Hah, you haven’t seen the news on the New NAFTA apparently. Trump can’t even get his own team to support it!
Strangerland
Nice logic. Give them something they didn't ask for and didn't want, but label it theirs. As welcome as a punch in the face.
SuperLib
Oh, there were additional sanctions. But then Trump cancelled them. A free concession for which he got nothing in return.
*“It was announced today by the U.S. Treasury that additional large scale Sanctions would be added to those already existing Sanctions on North Korea. I have today ordered the withdrawal of those additional Sanctions!” Mr. Trump tweeted.*
SuperLib
Nope. No debate at all. It was never part of the debate. Trump gave them relief on the new sanctions we put on them. WIthout Trump's direct action, NK would be under more sanctions as we speak.
But he stepped in to make sure that didn't happen. And he got nothing in return.
SuperLib
Awesome. But nothing from NK, right?
2 in 8 years under Obama and 3 in 2.5 years under Trump. Less success.

I don't think the US or Trump can get the WTO to change the China status on their own, but the rest of the world should. China doesn't need the subsidies anymore, clearly.
Saw that Chinese news is claiming they had bought several million tonnes of US soy just a few days ago. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trade-china-soybeans/beijing-says-millions-of-tonnes-of-us-soy-shipped-to-china-in-trade-consensus-idUSKCN1UN0EB but US data says it is 1 million tonnes and are from purchases much earlier in the year, not new.
gokai_wo_maneku
The basic issue is that the US is trying to resist the rise of China, which is inevitable. China will surpass the US, just as it has surpassed Japan. At least Japan has developed it role in this situation rather than trying to resist like the US. The US cannot get used to being number two. That is the only real issue here.

Hah - there hasn't been any deals, unless the one between Donnie and Vlad to interfere in 2020...
Trump has his money? Where? China and Russia are helping him evade sanctions - making Trump look like a Chump...
No other President gave a nK leader a Summit, because they were smart - Donnie gives him 3 and got zilch..Dumb....
Who is Xi blaming for the Hong Kong riots?

The US Southern District Attorney disagrees with you...the handcuffs will be waiting for you Donnie after 2020...
Bankruptcy equals failure...even you'd have to agree it sure ain't "winning".... And about that $1 Billion.....
Xi and Putin have already given in to sanctions - they are the ones that deliver Kim's coal, his food, etc. Donnie really got played - Trump's a Chump.... And why hasn't Donnie called out his Master?
China provides 90% or nK food and coal - and it's coming in through both Chinese and Russian ports. They're playing Trump for a Chump...
About the Dimwit...
That's even more hilarious...kinda like "Trump is Orange" "No proof"....

What did Trump secure in return? Zip.
What did he get in return for cancelling the war games, a long-held NK demand? Zero.
What did he do when NK started launching ballistic missiles again? Nada.
He's an appeaser with NK. He's an antagonizer with China. Those are his only 2 cards he knows how to play. And he's accomplished nothing on either end because he's a loser at this level.
Strangerland
No, he’s an inept moron.

Nah, there's plenty for "Individual -1"...
????? You said he has Kim's money? What money of Kim's does he have? And you forgot the $1 Billion loss and 6 bankruptcies....

You need to read some more - China and Russia are helping Kim evade the sanctions giving him everything he needs. And is Donnie calling out his Master? Nope...

"I don't know he's a pervert" - Now that is funny - hilarious actually....
Hot mic? As in Access Hollywood?

Yes, but given that, the old sanctions still remain.
And still, Kim can’t shake off the remaining sanctions.
Pretty much
Serrano
What did he get in return for cancelling the war games, a long-held NK demand? Zero.
Au contraire! We saved a bunch of money and gave our troops some much needed R&R.
What did he do when NK started launching ballistic missiles again? Nada.
You would have loved it if he had ordered a military strike, wouldn't you? Anyway, still no missiles flying over Japan.
He's an appeaser with NK.
How do you figure? All the sanctions are still on.
He's an antagonizer with China.
Yeah, we really need to keep the status quo and continue getting our asses kicked in trade with China.
Really, SuperLib, you need to get with the program at this point.

Many say I am negative, stuck in the past and dealing with issues, but I can clearly see, he is one of the best damn Presidents the U.S. had in a while. and I by far trust the people in his cabinet than the blue team. He obviously calls people out and then they get 'offended' to what he says but the guy has common sense and just doesnt give good speeches or blows smoke. he also respects people's spiritual rights and freedoms which I think is important when it comes to having a sane society. While his style is a bit overly direct with things for many, I personally think 4 more years is not enough to have such a as President Trump, and seeing the other bunch in line is really scary.
bass4funk
Still chasing ghosts of a long forgotten time.
That’s what the bankruptcy laws are for, use them and restructure.
To some, to others, no. Now if Trump “gives in to sanctions”, then he would be.
Oh, I do read and Kim went to Russia for a loan and was turned down and if Kim were doing THAT well, then he would never even bring sanctions up in any meeting with the President and 3 people from his entourage wouldn’t be dead or in a labor camp.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/18/world/asia/north-korea-economy-sanctions.html.
about Democrats.
No proof..
Medvedev and Obama 2011
bass4funk
Yeah, Mueller will get the good, Cohen will be his downfall, Stormy is going to make him resign, keep trying, keep fishing. Trump going to jail is as real as North and South Korea re-uniting this year.
Restructuring means-resurrection like a Phoenix.
.
Then if that’s True, he would never pester Trump about sanction relief, he wouldn’t need to, also they can’t do it too much as we patrol that area so much, so sorry. Kim knows how vital lifting those sanctions are.
And still no sanction relief for NK, Iran and China really needs to get back in the game.
And they’re having more difficulties getting it in. Sanction is a helluva punishment
Nice color.
But still that 2011 and 2014 exchange, we didn't know until recently, the Dems were working with the Russians....
bass4funk
So did I, that’s why I was asking.
One-sided liberals sources....Yeah, probably.
Serrano
Trump said Beijing was supposed to start buying U.S. agricultural products...no Donny boi they have gone to Brazil and they are not coming back you screwed the farmers over.
No need to be overly dependent on exports to China, now is there?

Keep beatin' that dead horse, lincolnman!
bass4funk
Or maybe hidden ones from 2011....
Properties, buildings with his name, planes, helicopters, Casino in Vegas, IRA, savings, investments, stocks...
If they were Smart and I mean, really smart, they wouldn’t have followed the Washington Status Quo, another reason for a Trump win.
And they still have the albatross of sanctions around their necks, not good, not good.
The Democrats are buffoons.
Racist? Hardly. I don’t know he’s a pervert, you saw something the rest of the country didn’t see or just regurgitating liberal gossip.
And the previous leader, that 2011 hot mic.....smh...
Serrano
How's Mexico paying for the wall working out?
Thanks to Trump, Mexico is doing more for our border security than the Democrats.
Too bad Obama couldn't get the wall built during his eight years.
bass4funk
The other three presidents didn’t even have that except for capitulation.
China would never come to an agreement unless America would just completely capitulate to it and Trump is not going to do that. Which is shocking in the eyes of the Chinese.
We just disagree on that point. And that’s ok.
No, but Kim didn’t get the one thing and the most important thing he wanted as well in the forms of sanction relief.
But not sanction relief.
I disagree I think he definitely knows what he’s doing and I for one am glad that he is pushing them as hard as he can and hopefully they will increase the sanctions on them as they should have a long time ago. If the Iranians were truly serious and sincere they would have always allowed inspectors to go randomly wherever they wanted to and they didn’t and I am very happy that this president is pushing the right to the cliff.
He doesn’t have to hurry he can take his time just like a bottle of wine
bass4funk
In a way, El Chapo will...well, his money will.
Yes and more importantly, it’s the border States mich needed wall.
Serrano

S'matter, don't like it when the Democrats are criticized?
bass4funk
Or the other way around. Deals go both ways.
Trump has his money, can’t food and arms with air, now look who has someone wrapped around their finger?
Impossible, I would agree if Trump gave him sanction relief, but he didn’t, so can’t agree on that point.
At the same time, the US are the biggest buyer of Chinese made products, been to Walmart lately? Again, Chinese NEED to have access to the US markets and need it as much as we need China.
How is Trump a racist? There is absolutely zero evidence of that. Liberals now moving the goalpost, criticize someone, you’re a racist, played by people that never have a constructive argument or policy to beat this President.
2011, I’ll have more flexibility after the election....hmmmm
Serrano
Why would Obama build Trump's Wall?
It's not Trump's wall, it's America's wall. We need it. A lot of misery could have been avoided if it was built years ago.
Serrano
Sooooooo much evidence of Trump's blatant racism available online
Yeah, for example, Baltimore has rats! Blatant racism!
You're confusing racism with anti-globalism, zichi.
bass4funk
Sorry, Sup, I disagree because that would be the Washington status quo to just make ANY deal, thankfully, this President is not the typical Washington wag the dog type, offsetting the Chinese, frustrating to them, that’s a great thing.
They're talking that’s what you want, if they don’t, then you might have a slight problem.
I think differently.
bass4funk
Many of us think that about the previous Presidents that tried and failed with China miserably.
So did he come after you file for bankruptcy and restructured
Democrats don’t, that’s the reason why if they did, they would never have been satisfied with a sluggish GDP of 2% for so many years and yet they were perfectly content with it.
That goes both ways.
Serrano
But I can't also wonder if they're not hoping to get it resolved during Trump's presidency, knowing they will likely bet a better from Trump deal due to his weak negotiation skills.
You have to be in complete denial to say Trump's negotiation skills are weak. Canada, Mexico, anyone?
vanityofvanities
Why Chinese people are quiet without demonstrations against U.S. They are not burning American flags or the effigies of Trump. They become very aggressive when they protest against Japan. The reason may be demonstrations in China are produced and controlled by the government.
bass4funk
That’s not entirely true. If Japan were to be just as underhanded as the Chinese are on the global level, the US would have the same apprehensions as they do with China. Japan has not been THAT irresponsible geopolitically.
bass4funk
When Trump produced some vague statement saying China would buy more with no amounts or dates everyone knew he was being taken for a ride. Everyone except Trump.
I think he’s the right man exactly for the job. The other Presidents were more pacifist when it came to China and admittedly, he does take a more hostile and bombastic attitude towards China and that’s a really good thing. Excellent business sense, knows China how they work and has dealt with them for years and years, if the Dems support him, then you know they even trust him in this endeavor.
We import about a half a trillion dollars in goods from China while they import about $115 billion from us.
That disparity works in favor of President Trump because if you put tariffs on the Chinese it could cost them far more jobs than it will cost us.
It is possible that the President could slap tariffs on the Chinese that are so high that U.S. stores, a primary buyer of goods, decide to shift production elsewhere if it is private label -much of which is still made in China - or demand that their suppliers switch production to another country. It's not easy to pull up stakes from China but here's where China's in a lot of trouble: companies that make product in China tend to have another source to be sure they aren't captive to China. Clothing manufacturers, for example, try not to have more than 20% of their goods made in China. They will shift that production elsewhere and can do so within the year. Many of the traditional products, like appliances, can easily be made in Mexico. Yes, anyone thinking of switching has to worry about NAFTA but we know from Martin Franklin, who used to run the largest small appliance company, Jarden, that it's cheaper to make things in Mexico and he was busy onshoring from China to Mexico in his last years running an independent company.

Trump tweets threaten to disrupt U.S.-China trade talks
His tweets are putting more pressure on China which is needed as China is stubborn.
Hey, maybe Trump will be voted out and we can go back to business as usual which is getting our asses kicked.
bass4funk
So China can’t be called out? They don’t want their feelings hurt? Too bad.
bass4funk
But also that he’s not a pushover like the previous Presidents Which creates a thorn in their side which is a great thing.
I don’t know about the “intelligent part” but they do want a typical and traditional Washington idiot mind bot that will continue the status quo of Americans getting screwed and China can bury America.
Depends, most Dems like what he’s doing with China, ask Chucky!
