For anyone who does not think Trump is a foreign policy genius must not be aware of his demonstration of his brilliance on Morning Joe. Asked on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” who he talks with consistently about foreign policy, Trump responded, “I’m speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I’ve said a lot of things."

Pfft. Is that all China has? No match at all against Trump's tremendous brain. He's, like, a smart person.

CrazyJoeDEC. 13, 2016 - 08:21AM JST For anyone who does not think Trump is a foreign policy genius must not be aware of his demonstration of his brilliance on Morning Joe. Asked on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” who he talks with consistently about foreign policy, Trump responded, “I’m speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I’ve said a lot of things."

Trump talks with himself, Bush claimed he prayed on whether or not to go to war in Iraq.

What's with all these Republican leaders making major war plans based on what the voices in their heads say?

Yup Making major war plans...Creating environment of fear and hate. End result - More export of weapons and ammunition. Smart eh..

A full-on trade war could wipe millions of jobs in the US. While it could also wipe millions in China too

Right. Which is why you don't start trade wars.

He's like a smart person, only without the smartness. I'm sure he blundered into this unintentionally and is trying to talk his way out. This is what we can look forward to now.

China has very little leverage.

They hold a huge amount of American debt, control a significant amount of mineral production in the world, handle billions of dollars worth of American manufacturing, have a powerful army, and a chip on their shoulder. They are also growing in influence with many countries in the world.

They most definitely have some leverage against America, with the debt issue alone, much less the other issues.

China has very little leverage.

control a significant amount of mineral production in the world,

The second quote is bang on. The largest deposits of rare earth elements, those essential for high tech products, are found in China. The US and Russia both have sizable amounts, but nothing compared to China. Afghanistan is said to have huge deposits. Both Russia and the US have failed in trying to secure territories in Afghanistan. Could a joint future there be part of what's contributing to the purported friendship between the Russian leader and the US leader-elect? (Maybe also the Arctic?)

China's biding its time. At this point the high tech future looks Chinese. I'd say they've got lots of leverage. The US has squandered chances spending trillions going after petroleum.

When it comes down to it, the risks of a trade war with China are far too high for Trump. Look at GM alone, they sell over 3 million cars to China, over a third of their entire global sales. China could wipe this and eliminate thousands of US jobs overnight. A full-on trade war could wipe millions of jobs in the US. While it could also wipe millions in China too, the labour market there can absorb many more unemployed workers than the US can

China has the US by the KINTAMA in terms of debt which was initially started during the 80's,deny it if you want to but it is a fact, trumpy better tread lightly. And all those AMERICAN businesses that have been outsourcing or taking advantage of the regulations or lack there of and raking in record profits wont take too kindly to him ruffling any feathers with the Chinese.

China has a lot more to lose in a trade war than the U.S.

I wonder how many jobs China loose if USA stops importing over $ 300 billion goods a year from China? The number that China is so scare to not want to know...However, China is a big market in the world, US business cannot ignore...

China has very little leverage. The masses have been fed a heap lies for far to long. The funny thing is China is now in every nook and cranny of Japanese society and the Japanese people are blind to that fact. Trump is wise to promote fair and free trade and to do only what is in Americas interests. After all that is what China has been doing the last 25 years. The free ride is over.
