Chicken game.

Cancel all his golf trips and he will change his mind.

I wonder if he is somehow brain damaged from beating his head constantly against this "wall" issue!

17 ( +20 / -3 )

Stay the course! Show the world why you were elected. I know all the thumbs down coming, but isn't it amazing how we finally have a President in the oval office that actually does what they were elected to do?

This is not a left or right issue. In my lifetime there has never been a President that did what he said he would do if elected.

-17 ( +8 / -25 )

Yeah yeah yeah... guess what, Coward Bone Spurs.

You'll blink first, then declare victory on your blinking.

Because you're a failure. You've failed time and time again in your life, and the only thing that you've been halfway decent at, your own mystique? It's falling apart at the seams.

You were born with a silver spoon up your tuchus, and you've never had to be a real man.

So you aren't.

Which is why you're going to blink, and be laughed at even more than you are now.

Word has it Trump's spending until noon doing "executive time" - that is, watching Fox News and obsessing over the collapse of his presidency. This recent message buttresses the bunker mentality taken over the White House.

I have no idea how we get ourselves out of this, but bad has gone to seriously bad. What to do with a president who refuses to fund the government over a vanity project?

14 ( +17 / -3 )

But wasn't Mexico supposed to pay for it all?

18 ( +21 / -3 )

Stay the course! Show the world why you were elected. I know all the thumbs down coming, but isn't it amazing how we finally have a President in the oval office that actually does what they were elected to do?

I couldn’t agree more.

This is not a left or right issue. In my lifetime there has never been a President that did what he said he would do if elected.

Exactly.

-17 ( +7 / -24 )

So when he gets the wall, liberals will say “well it’s just a fence” to distract from the win. We just want something that a pregnant woman can’t just walk through like happened the other day.

-16 ( +4 / -20 )

Word has it Trump's spending until noon doing "executive time" - that is, watching Fox News and obsessing over the collapse of his presidency.

Lol, here we go again...word is, Oprah announced she’s running on a Republican platform and to seal the deal everyone gets a new 2019 Honda Accord.

This recent message buttresses the bunker mentality taken over the White House.

Naw, you guys just want him to give up, if he did that you guys could say, “see, he’s weak, I knew he would crack.” Either way, you guys would complain no matter what.

I have no idea how we get ourselves out of this, but bad has gone to seriously bad. What to do with a president who refuses to fund the government over a vanity project?

Yes, liberals hate border security. Israel likes theirs though.

-14 ( +5 / -19 )

This is hillarious !

Honolulu is building a elevated train line that is 20 miles long. It has cost over 20 billion and isn’t finished and hasn’t been built correctly. Honolulu wants a billion to renovate their schools.

5 billion is nothing to a Democrats. The problem is they won’t be able to take Texas if they can pay Mexicans to cross the border to vote. If the Dems take Texas they will rule the country forever. They have to stop that wall !

The current Dem leadership has no brains. Bill Clinton would have avoided a showdown and making their intentions so very obvious.

-19 ( +3 / -22 )

It's easy to play fast and loose with money when you don't have to worry about where your next meal is coming from.

All those federal workers and their families not getting a paycheck for the holidays and the new year will suffer for the avarice of the rich man in power.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Dems were for the wall before they were against it. Since Trump beat out the hapless Hillary they are so desperate for power they are depending on importing voters in order to regain power. It worked in California so it does have a proven precedent.

It’s no secret why open borders and the elimination of effective border law enforcement is so important to the American Left. With racial separatism as their guiding principle Dems have no choice but to offer welfare to every third world unskilled worker possible in order to entice them into risking life and limb to cross the border and get their votes. They goal is to fundamentally transform America from a first world capitalist nation into a third world Socialist paradise ala Venezuela.

If Trump folds he will surely lose re-election and America’s system of government will continue to deteriorate. If the Dems fold they lose future socialist voters absolutely critical to their political fortunes as they continue to alienate white voters through their divisive race based politics.

This is a battle neither side can afford to loose.

-16 ( +2 / -18 )

Clearly an abuse of power. Congress can easily fix this by overriding a veto. Or, Congress can start the impeachment process. It would help the country more if a veto override was followed immediately by impeachment.

Extortion, pure and simple. Don't give in, Dems!

16 ( +17 / -1 )

So when he gets the wall

Mexicans will get ladders and shovels. Also, drones and slingshots for the drugs. it won't change anything. It's lazy and a waste of money.

the elimination of effective border law enforcement is so important to the American Left

Reagan gave 3M greencards to illegals. The left?

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Keep digging DT, keep digging.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Dems have no choice but to offer welfare to every third world unskilled worker possible in order to entice them into risking life and limb to cross the border and get their votes.

Just like what Republicans do in Texas.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Why not use his own money? Sell his all assets to make enough fund for building up walls! If he did it, they would be proud of such a unbelievable man.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

Trump could give a rats a$$ about the wall - he was ready to punt last week before Laura Ingram did a spine transfusion (too bad it wasn't a brain)....

The wall is nothing more than a symbol and a message from Trumpers to immigrants that that "we don't like you and we don't want you.  See that wall - that's meant to keep you out - legal or illegal.  Our America is not the one that is inscribed on the Statue of Liberty, but one outlined in KKK and white supremacist literature."

We may be a nation of immigrants, but for Trumpers, those days are over, especially if your skin is not white.

That's why this fight is so important - it's not about a "wall" - it's about who we are as a nation.

Are we intolerant racists or the heirs to the diverse America our forefathers intended...

Stay the course! Show the world why you were elected. I know all the thumbs down coming, but isn't it amazing how we finally have a President in the oval office that actually does what they were elected to do?

There's no wall yet, or any money coming from Mexico to pay for it.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

"vowed Tuesday he would not reopen the government until he gets $5 billion"

He's simply holding federal employees jobs/income hostage for a 5 billion ransom. Mwah haahaa haaa. ((Pinky in corner of mouth, Dr. Evil style))

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Israel likes theirs though

It's stopping terrorists

a pregnant woman can’t just walk through

They don't have trouble walking through tunnels. Just like a hospital corridor.

Stay the course! Show the world why you were elected

Yes, liberals hate border security.

transform America from a first world capitalist nation into a third world Socialist paradise ala Venezuela.

Trump voters! Did you give money to the Trump wall fund? It's here:

https://www.gofundme.com/TheTrumpWall

If any Trump voter doesn't donate their own money to save the US from socialism then you are not a true Trump voter and just all talk.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

There's no wall yet, or any money coming from Mexico to pay for it.

Main point is exactly as you said, there is “No wall.”

Just like what Republicans do in Texas

California is heading down that road as well, sad, so very sad.

After factoring for costs of living, California is the poorest state in the union. An average of 14 percent of Americans live below the poverty line by census measures. Compare that with the 19 percent of Californians who live below the poverty line and the situation is clear

https://thehill.com/opinion/finance/412928-middle-class-is-disappearing-in-california-as-wealth-gap-grows

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

Main point is exactly as you said, there is “No wall.”

Are you worried about no wall? Why?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The House can re-introduce legislation to re-open the government w/o funding for "the wall" each time he vetoes it. Eventually 10-12 GOP Senators will come to their senses and vote w/ the Democratic Senators to pass the bill by overriding his veto, leaving him with no recourse and a split party. I give it until mid-February, at which time he becomes a lame duck, abandoned by the MAGA crowd and left to roam the White House residence like Lear, bingeing on junk food and junk TV while tweeting gibberish - or, just more of the same.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

On this issue the Democrats are way off. It's unbelievable that they oppose almost any sort of meaningful border control. Almost no other country on earth would accept such a chaotic approach to immigration.

Democrat leadership cares nothing for the immigrants. They just want thier votes and resultant power. Just as they want minority votes and resultant power of legal citizens. And yet Democrat controlled cities are economic and social disaster areas. Republican controlled areas usually prosper and are orderly.

Take your pick Americans. In the mean time, give the swamp creatures hell Mr. President.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

They just want thier votes

That's Reagan. He gave out 3M green cards to illegals. To confirm....

they oppose almost any sort of meaningful border control

Democrats want to remove all borders and fences (that already exist) and just let any Mexican through like walking into a McDonald's? Again, it was Reagan who gave them 3M greencards. Reagan was the openborder president. Even Texas Republicans are against Trump's stupid wall (which can be defeated with ladders, shovels, slingshots and drones [for the drugs]).

Don't forget Trump voters. GIVE YOUR MONEY NOW:

https://www.gofundme.com/TheTrumpWall

You can help Trump build his wall.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Trump could give a rats a$ about the wall -

Apparently liberals don’t as well.

he was ready to punt last week before Laura Ingram did a spine transfusion (too bad it wasn't a brain)....

Can you prove that? Probably not...lol

The wall is nothing more than a symbol and a message from Trumpers to immigrants that that "we don't like you and we don't want you.

If you are “illegal”, that is exactly right and I couldn’t agree more.

See that wall - that's meant to keep you out - legal or illegal. Our America is not the one that is inscribed on the Statue of Liberty, but one outlined in KKK and white supremacist literature."

So that means they need to seriously worry about Democrats....makes sense to me.

We may be a nation of immigrants, but for Trumpers, those days are over, especially if your skin is not white.

Indonesians, Filipinos and Ethiopians are allowed in, they’re not White....or they might be a different of White I guess.

That's why this fight is so important - it's not about a "wall" - it's about who we are as a nation.

Or a nation that liberals seem want to beat down its democracy and turn it into Sweden.

Are we intolerant racists or the heirs to the diverse America our forefathers intended

What?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Indonesians, Filipinos and Ethiopians are allowed in

Through the Mexican border?

If you are “illegal”, that is exactly right and I couldn’t agree more.

Reagan gave a different message with his 3M greencard amnesty

You really need to get your head out of the far right "no fact zone"...

On this issue the Democrats are way off. It's unbelievable that they oppose almost any sort of meaningful border control. Almost no other country on earth would accept such a chaotic approach to immigration.

Democrats and most Republicans want sensible and effective border control - not some wall that is there just as a symbol, that can be tunneled under or flown over...

Democrat leadership cares nothing for the immigrants.

Wrong...

They just want thier votes and resultant power.

Wrong...

Just as they want minority votes and resultant power of legal citizens.

????

And yet Democrat controlled cities are economic and social disaster areas. Republican controlled areas usually prosper and are orderly.

To actually build the wall would probably take years and years of environmental checks, settling of property ownership where the wall will be built, some pretty intense architectural planning (if they really are planning on putting Trumps 3-story slats in the ground), and a number of other exciting factors most people haven't really thought about yet but continue to post on here.

In the end, it might even be money wasted if the bill for it gets passed seeing as it might not even ever be finished as Trump could possibly exit the white house before that time comes.

People talk about stopping drugs, which can be passed through the slats, flown into the country, sailed into the country, etc. People talk about stopping illegal immigrants but many still enter the country from other points of entry. What is to stay this wall would stop them from coming through Canada, means of water, ladders, tunnels, etc.

Some people here also mention having a president that follows through. So you'd rather see money wasted on symbolism than where it actually counts? Sounds like you've not really thought out your political thought.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Just let him build his Wall.  what't the downside?  5 billion wasted dollars?  not like they don't p##s that up the wall on all sorts of other vanity projects and pork barrel waste of time schemes.

So it’s ok for liberals to roam in the far left zone no fact zone???

Democrats and most Republicans want sensible and effective border control - not some wall that is there just as a symbol, that can be tunneled under or flown over...

For example. If not a wall where people can come over or easily get caught, then what?

.

Wrong...

No, they don’t, they didn’t even care about making a deal for the DACA kids. Trump was going to legalize 2 million and the Democrats said, No way. The way I was raised in my household we would call that stupid.

Wrong...

Of course I do, if they didn’t then why is it that the majority of black and Latino neighborhoods under Democrat leadership in the most deplorable conditions? How has the Democratic Party made their lives better? If you even want to attempt to say that.

The 10 Poorest States In America - eight have Republican Governors.

The South was alway poor historically by agriculture economic standards compared to the north and the west coast, but what’s the excuse of California besides high taxes, identity politics, out of control housing costs, political correctness running amok? So what does that have to do with thousands of people leaving California and the State sliding down to becoming one of the poorest?

You know, all those swamp creatures that either are or used to be part of your administration that are now indicted or waiting sentencing..

And get pardoned and then what?

-18 ( +1 / -19 )

@bass

What is your evidence for liberals being responsible for poor living conditions?

The south was not always historically poor. In fact, the south was historically pretty rich and flourishing until the collapse of slavery and the devastation from the civil war. So I guess you could blame liberals for ending slavery and making those states poor, but then you'd be also supporting slavery. You really wanna do that bass?

BTW, Lincoln was a republican but traditionally republicans were liberal and democrats were conservative. They switched somewhere around the turn in the 1900's when republicans started to support KKK among others and democrats began opposed racist parties.

Know your history

12 ( +13 / -1 )

I pretty much don’t listen to what the big leagues of the Big wigs say in Washington, I prefer reality.

thanks for being so honest. If Trump doesn't want a wall, then why is the government shutdown?

He’s been talking about the Warren since he’s been campaigning, I beg to differ.

Nope, all immigrants, legal or illegal...

But if that were true, then Filipinos and Ethiopians wouldn’t be allowed to come in and yet they are, so I guess the kills your point. Believe it or not being legal does help and has its advantages.

David Duke isn't a Democrat - and he loves Trump...

He also loved Reagan and McCain and Romney as well. So what? Democrats praised a former Grand Wizard who was also a member of Congress.

And Trumpers don't want to let any of them in...

Is they are illegal of course not!

No, just the nation our forefathers intended...

So that means it will get rid of California and cut it off?

This is the reply you get when fact meets fiction and heads explode....

No, you are just not making any rational reasons for not building a wall.

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

What is your evidence for liberals being responsible for poor living conditions?

I go to California twice a year, I see it. Look at every city where blacks and Latinos live that are governed by Democrats and tell me which city is sprawling prosperous, safe and not Crime ridden?

The south was not always historically poor. In fact, the south was historically pretty rich and flourishing until the collapse of slavery and the devastation from the civil war. So I guess you could blame liberals for ending slavery and making those states poor, but then you'd be also supporting slavery. You really wanna do that bass?

I know my history very well, but I’m talking about blacks and the Latinos that voted overwhelmingly Democrat and then have had Democrats running their cities how has it turned out for them generally speaking? Don’t deflect. Just answer me how the wealthiest States run by Democrats can have Blacks and Latinos living in poorer, violent crime ridden conditions? I’m from orange county predominately white and Asian and until recently was Republican, we don’t have that problem the other cities have that are run by Democrats, we don’t even the people there don’t want it to become a sanctuary city nightmare like the other States.

BTW, Lincoln was a republican but traditionally republicans were liberal and democrats were conservative.

I know and Linden Johnson was also a Democrat who didn’t really care about blacks and who created the Great Society to impose entitlements on blacks and to keep them dependent on entitlements and that has not changed for over the last 60 years and continues to this day. Handing out entitlements to minorities is a huge victory win for Democrats, always has been.

So yeah, I know my history very well.

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

Yeah, right. Only when the fat lady sings, but I doubt it if Sarah can carry a tune to save her life.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

So when he gets the wall, liberals will say “well it’s just a fence” to distract from the win.

it wont be a win becuase he wont get either, he may get a sparodic fence and wall over parts of the 2000miles, but the border will never be totally sealed, itll have more holes than swiss cheese

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Stay the course! Show the world why you were elected. I know all the thumbs down coming, but isn't it amazing how we finally have a President in the oval office that actually does what they were elected to do?

> This is not a left or right issue. In my lifetime there has never been a President that did what he said he would do if elected.

But he isn't doing what he was elected to do. He promised Mexico would pay to build a wall and that construction would start on day 1 of his presidency. We are now two years into his presidency, during which his own party has controlled all three branches of government, and he hasn't delivered any of that.

He basically made a stupid promise that nobody could ever deliver on and only now that he is taking flack for it is he clumsily trying to look like he is doing something about it, even though his tactic is causing the economy to crash and has zero hope of actually accomplishing its stated goal of funding the wall.

I guess you can admire him for trying to look busy, but I'll save my admiration for politicians who make sensible promises which they can make good on and then do.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

We all knew this would happen. Let the powers that be divide and confuse. The liberals are acting more childish than Trump! We need border security in the form of drones, people, walls, gates, fences.........blah blah blah! Both sides confirm this. The Democrats are worried that once the border is more effectively controlled they will lack the votes to keep them from winning elections. It's so obvious that it's all about politics. They just don't like Trumps personality. Just turn on late night T.V. in the U.S. Every channel is bashing Trump for the "fun of it" The American people on both sides are really fed up with the nonsense and the bickering. HE is our President for another 2 years even if you don't like him. The Democrats' 'Sudden' Hard-Left Turn Has Been Years In The Making, It didn't start with Trump, he just won the election (to the surprise of both sides) and took them on head first.

Today's Democrats and their allies in the big media talk about the "extreme right" and "ultra right" Republican Party. They call rank and file Republicans racists and nazis.

But, as numerous studies and polls confirm, it's the Democratic Party that has moved far left — while the Republican Party has more or less remained where it was.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

They goal is to fundamentally transform America from a first world capitalist nation into a third world Socialist paradise ala Venezuela.

This statement has no basis in reality.

California is predominantly desert and mountains, squeezing its population centers into narrow areas. It's also home to some of the best-paid employees on the planet. Put those together, and those who do the menial work, without which the state couldn't survive, do have a tough run. But they have two things those in the states mentioned above do not: an above-average chance to rise, and a citizenry generally supportive.

The largest bank in the US, Bank of America, was founded in California by an Italian immigrant, Amadeo Pietro Giannini, at a time when that nationality was treated similarly to Hispanics today. This is the cause of California's success. (Kind of an interesting story - check it out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bank_of_America )

4 ( +5 / -1 )

HE is our President for another 2 years even if you don't like him.

He doesn't have to be.

He could resign.

He could be impeached.

He could be 25th amendment-ed out.

So many possibilities.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

I think you might mean 6 years......

1 ( +4 / -3 )

HE is our President for another 2 years even if you don't like him.

He's not my President. He may act like he's king of the world but that's just his ego.

The Democrats' 'Sudden' Hard-Left Turn Has Been Years In The Making,

Piffle. The Dems are about as left as Ayn Rand. Although there is hope with some of the younger generation coming to the fore.

It didn't start with Trump, he just won the election (to the surprise of both sides) and took them on head first.Today's Democrats and their allies in the big media talk about the "extreme right" and "ultra right" Republican Party. They call rank and file Republicans racists and nazis.

As pointed out, on numerous occasions, look at the language coming out of Trump and his supporters. It's akin to the filthy discourse in the 30s. They sure hate the comparison.

But, as numerous studies and polls confirm, it's the Democratic Party that has moved far left — while the Republican Party has more or less remained where it was.

What studies and polls? The Dems are a centerist party, with a few notable exceptions. Otherwise, left wing activism remains at the grassroots and as the gulf between the rich and poor is expanded, that's where the real push for equality remains. Neither the Repubs or Dems will deliver America from its ills. Not under their current right wing and neo-liberal guises.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

In future to minimize the chance of electing a mentally disabled president of the United States we must elect not directly from only FEW canditates, but from SEVERAL HUNDRED of congressmen and senators! First we elect Senate and Congress, after we elect from Senate and Cogress the President. And probably should be some kind of minimum IQ required to have a job with a "big nuclear button" on the desk.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

This statement has no basis in reality.

I used to say the same thing 10 years ago and then I watched as my beautiful State has been slipping into the abyss of the socialist State.

Doesn't change the fact that California is spiraling downwards financially.

The largest bank in the US, Bank of America, was founded in California by an Italian immigrant, Amadeo Pietro Giannini, at a time when that nationality was treated similarly to Hispanics today. This is the cause of California's success.

Yes, but ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION will be the downfall of the State

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

at Dead4good,

dude the South is poor because they never industrialized like the North. There were some exceptions, but even today, some Southern states have the most Japanese companies of any state in the union and all your famous US made industry names are in the North. Due to the hot muggy climate, many of them are slow, but non union labor cheap, thus attractive to Japanese Korean and Euro industry.

Vegas odds say otherwise.

This infantile maniac stole Christmas for 800,000 federal employees and their children over a stupid wall at the behest of Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and Putin. Now the great negotiator has boxed himself in a corner so tight he cannot move. He owns the entire mess. All the democrats have to do is wait until January 3, 2019, and reopen the government. What a pathetic creature.

"This infantile maniac stole Christmas for 800,000 federal employees "

Oh no! they didnt get a Christmas? I thought they got 30 paid vacation days + numerous Federal holidays + a plethora of other benefits the private sector cant afford to give out.

Poor things...)

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

Vegas odds say otherwise.

Vegas odds said he wouldn’t win, Hillary was already popping the bottle. The Billy Bush tapes were supposed to be his doom, they all stated otherwise.

Besides, the Dems don’t have anyone even close to beating him.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

@shawn

If you were affected by the shutdown, would you be happy because it aids Trump's wall or would you be upset with the decision because it affects you and your family?

7 ( +7 / -0 )

This infantile maniac stole Christmas for 800,000 federal employees and their children over a stupid wall at the behest of Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and Putin.

They’re just conservative political pundits, they just voiced their opinions, the President unlike most liberals knows and understands how much we need border security.

Now the great negotiator has boxed himself in a corner so tight he cannot move.

That’s good.

> He owns the entire mess.

Not sure about that. Seems to me the Democrats don’t want any type of border security, they haven’t mentioned anything or given details as to how they want to do that.

All the democrats have to do is wait until January 3, 2019, and reopen the government. What a pathetic creature.

But here comes the funny part, Democrats will need to get many of their key legislation through the Republican stronger now Senate....payback will be a.....lol

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Knows it very well - by the way, the correct spelling is "Lyndon Johnson"....

Typo, my bad.

Won't have to beat him when he's behind bars...

That will never happen, Hillary didn’t go, so Trump should go through this like going through turbulence, it’ll be bumpy, but blue skies ahead.

What "numerous studies and polls"? And no citing anything that originated in Russia.

What? We are back at Russia again this week?

John Boehner and Jim Jordan would disagree with you...

Boehner, one of the worst speakers in Republican history, had a nice tan though when he wasn’t crying his eyes out.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

That will never happen,

not while he's POTUS, when hes out he's not protected anymore, itll be bumpy like a avalanche of litigation when he's a plain old citizen again. the next POTUS can get busy with his/her exective order pen and sign away all the damage Trumps done

5 ( +5 / -0 )

bass4funk: "That will never happen"

The only way it WON'T happen is if Trump agrees to resign as president with one condition being he cannot go to prison for current investigations, and his children, who look like they are well on their way for a number of things, are protected. If he continues, once he is out in 2020 he can and will be indicted. I know it makes you angry, and I know that's why you hope the government will continue to go against the Constitution and have their own way with things, but that's the truth.

As for this shutdown, Trump owns it. He has even said so, and has said he has proud of it. Here he is doubling down and saying again it's his way or nothing. Stop trying to shirk responsibility even when Trump has grabbed and hung it around his neck.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

@deadforgood

"If you were affected by the shutdown, would you be happy because it aids Trump's wall or would you be upset with the decision because it affects you and your family?"

well, since Ive had to work many a Christmas and relocate at my own expense and "endure" other hardships that us private sector types have had to do for years, it really doesnt matter. I cant believe somebody would complain they had to work on Christmas..)

Warehouseman, Truck Drivers, IT Data Center folks, Retail, so many have to work and hustle, what is a holiday? A Federal Employee had to suffer? Most of them are on a holiday, even at work

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

The only way it WON'T happen is if Trump agrees to resign as president with one condition being he cannot go to prison for current investigations,

And he can’t be indicted as a sitting President according to the department of the DOJ.

and his children, who look like they are well on their way for a number of things, are protected. If he continues, once he is out in 2020

...or 2024...

he can and will be indicted.

Sure after he leaves office anything is possible.

I know it makes you angry, and I know that's why you hope the government will continue to go against the Constitution and have their own way with things, but that's the truth.

I’m sorry, i couldn’t catch what you were talking about, in any case, it doesn’t make me angry, why would it? He’s a big boy, he’s got money and connections and he can buy the best lawyers, so he doesn’t have anything to worry about realistically.

As for this shutdown, Trump owns it.

Didn't have to if Schumer would have kept his promise, he wanted the wall too and n9w he changed? Political hack for sure, why Democrats hating taking responsibility for anything is way beyond me.

He has even said so, and has said he has proud of it. Here he is doubling down and saying again it's his way or nothing.

Yes, I know if the Democrats don’t like put a security but someone has a think about the safety and security of the nation, if Mexico is concerned about what comes over there something border, then we should be as well, Schumer used to be. Smh...

Stop trying to shirk responsibility even when Trump has grabbed and hung it around his neck.

I would if he did something of an outrageous criminal act, he hasn’t, so moving right along.....

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

So instead of Mexico paying for the wall, there is a shutdown over funding for the wall which Mexico was supposed to pay for?

Now, Trump supporters are blaming the democrats.

He can make these people do anything. I had a much harder time disciplining puppies.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Now, Trump supporters are blaming the democrats

Please Jimizo, only the haters took/take Trump seriously about Mexico paying for the wall. It was just a campaign shtick.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

@bass4funk

if the economy tanks, supporters will turn their backs on him. I truly think Trump cares about the US and will do everything to make it great, but he is going to have to find some stability in his cabinet eventually. Anyway, enjoy the chaos while it last; allot of Trumps decisions make sense, (including the wall) and I think he knows he might be a 1 term prez, and will get it all done no matter what. The democrats are a clueless and worthless bunch who can never get anything done (look at Emanuel and his boss in Chicago, and the continued mess there) Next term candidate is anybodys guess but I think you can rule Hilary out, as well as Sanders as well.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Please Jimizo, only the haters took/take Trump seriously about Mexico paying for the wall. It was just a campaign shtick.

Fake news. Many Trump supporters here and elsewhere were telling us how he was going to do it.

They don't mention it anymore. They kind of slope off into stuff like we don't care who pays for it.

Imagine believing that Mexico was going to pay for this. LOL!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

So Chicago and all other Black run cities will finally start voting for Democrats??

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

17 million+ $ in 9 days says Americans want to stop this.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Please Jimizo, only the haters took/take Trump seriously about Mexico paying for the wall. It was just a campaign shtick.

Schtick or not, it's the schtick he campaigned on. You know what he very clearly didn't campaign on? America paying for a wall. No, that was never mentioned once. So it's ridiculous to suddenly blame the other party for his inability to follow through on his campaign promise. Seriously, that is as inane a position as you could ever have. Imagine if Obama had campaigned on health care that would be free, then suddenly dumped it on the American people? You guys freaked out when a tiny percentage of people weren't able to keep their doctor. Imagine if suddenly the entire cost of the health care system was introduced with no previous mention whatsoever? Don't play us both stupid by pretending that you people wouldn't be completely and absolutely enraged if that happened.

Trump can pay for the wall himself, or with the gofundme campaign, or with money from Mexico. He has zero position to be expecting that from the American people. Stop being childish.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

They don't mention it anymore.

No. LOL

only the unpatriotic and the European socialists bring it up.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

I used to say the same thing 10 years ago and then I watched as my beautiful State has been slipping into the abyss of the socialist State.

In bizarro world, perhaps. But I've found that some Americans are clueless as to what socialism actually is.

I say some Americans because when you talk to people outside of forums like this, plenty are clued in.

The wall is a call to arms for the uneducated, the fearful and the easily led. It's a shame that the USA has fallen so much under Trump's crazed rule.

But perhaps sometimes, it takes a fall so that a country can rise once again.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Please Jimizo, only the haters took/take Trump seriously about Mexico paying for the wall. It was just a campaign shtick.

And as the dreaded Presidency drags on, you'll see more of this. Making excuses for the lying, populist, bigoted sex pest. Changing the narrative.

It's not even a wall, anymore. It's slats, now. Which will be paid for by the American tax-payer.

So much winning.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

You may have seen through this as Trump’s campaign idiocy,

What, like Hope and Change? A president who increased the bombs?

> Please Jimizo, only the haters took/take Trump seriously about Mexico paying for the wall. It was just a campaign shtick.

Yeah, keep on playing those mind games

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

The wall is a call to arms for the uneducated

Bam! There it is.

The faith that you’re smarter than everyone else, cuz of you’re beliefs and all, and nothing more.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

The wall is a call to arms for the uneducated

Absolutely true - a symbol that racists and white supremacists can look at and yell "Get Out - We Don't Want You" - while doing little to stop illegal border entry or drugs, which 90% come in thru regular border points.

Bam! There it is.

The faith that you’re smarter than everyone else, cuz of you’re beliefs and all, and nothing more.

If you want to interpret it that way, fine. I tend to think those that want a mere symbol versus comprehensive border control could use a little more time hitting the books...

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Amazing how the government has billions and billions for wars in the Middle East but can't come up with $5 billion to help with border security.

Stop funding the useless UN and we'll have more than enough to build the wall.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

only the haters took/take Trump seriously about Mexico paying for the wall. It was just a campaign shtick.

Ridiculous. Trump himself made it clear he was to be taken seriously. To say now it was just campaign rhetoric is to ignore that’s he repeatedly said it wasn’t. He meant it. They believed it. So, just campaign schtick... Laughable is to put it mildly.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Amazing how the government has billions and billions for wars in the Middle East

Breathtakingly dishonest to decry the wars you yourself supported. You think an “oopsie” absolves you?

in any case on top of that it’s a simpleton’s argument that because wasted money somewhere else we should waste money on boondoggle.

Tell us the truth now, you believed Trump when he said Mexico would pay? Wasn’t “campaign schtick” for you, was it?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

First, he said Mexico was going to pay for a wall that he says should be built.

Now, he says that it is the fault of Democrats that he hasn't been given the money to build a wall that he insists should be built.

But, no matter who it is who refuses to give him the money that he wants, why in the world would he put almost a million Americans out of work? There is an old expression about cutting off one's nose in order to spite one's face that comes to mind.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

And he can’t be indicted as a sitting President according to the department of the DOJ.

Ah - "the department of Department of Justice" - well, while federal lawsuits are understood not to pertain to the presidency (as long as he's in office), the jurisdiction of state law over the presidency has yet to be decided. The Supremes may have a monumental decision imminently.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

$5 billion to help with border security.

And this is going to do what exactly? Compared to the initial 100B$ that is needed? And when is Mexico going to pay for this?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Our POTUS doing what is needed to ensure our National Security. He takes his Oath of Office very seriously unlike a lot of his predecessors.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Keep dreaming, once again you guys are setting yourselves up for a fall.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Keep dreaming

About what? If there is a conviction on the state level that cannot be pardoned. What if the State of NY arrests Don Jr. for charity fraud? Nothing Trump can do.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Don’t the heads of America’s biggest companies lean left? Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Berkshire Hathaway. Seems that conservatives could learn a thing or two from our trillion dollar liberal run companies.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

bass: I used to say the same thing 10 years ago and then I watched as my beautiful State has been slipping into the abyss of the socialist State.

Uhh 10 years ago California was run by a Republican and you had a $27 billion deficit. Now the outgoing gov, Brown, a Democrat, turned that into a $15 billion surplus.

Ten years ago Obama inherited a trillion dollar deficit and cut it in half. Trump is on his way to doubling it again in a hot market with no stimulus spending.

Do you guys ever stop spending?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Uhh 10 years ago California was run by a Republican

Oh, you think he was a Republican?? Seriously!?? Lol

and you had a $27 billion deficit. Now the outgoing gov, Brown, a Democrat, turned that into a $15 billion surplus.

He’s as much of a Republican as James Comey. ROFL!

Ten years ago Obama inherited a trillion dollar deficit and cut it in half. Trump is on his way to doubling it again in a hot market with no stimulus spending.

Thanks to 44 sinking it with trying to furnish his beloved ACA and being content with and under 3% GDP

Do you guys ever stop spending...

Rich coming from the party that literally invented the name.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

bass: Oh, you think he was a Republican?? Seriously!??

Yes bass, seriously. I think the Republican who ran for office was a Republican. The state was a financial mess 10 years ago under Republican leadership until a liberal stepped in to clean it up. I have no idea why you'd want to go back to GOP leadership.

Rich coming from the party that literally invented the name.

You're using stereotypes to fight data?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

"Ten years ago Obama inherited a trillion dollar deficit and cut it in half."

10 years ago Obama inherited an $11.6 trillion national debt. He added $8.6 trillion, a 74% increase.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

 He added $8.6 trillion, a 74% increase.

And what's Trump doing with the debt? Is it going down? But the stock market is going down under Trump. Trump has not accomplished anything. healthcare costs keep going up

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Serrano: 10 years ago Obama inherited an $11.6 trillion national debt. He added $8.6 trillion

And here's Serrano with his one-trick pony data point. That stat dominates the Fox New comment section with conservatives when Trump's deficits are mentioned.

The debt is caused by deficits. We spend more than we take in and we borrow the rest. Republicans left Obama with a massive bill to pay with their economic meltdown. Obama took over and lowered their deficit.

Trump gets into office and now he's projected to nearly double the deficit. All his spending. No padding the numbers with once-in-a-lifetime stimulus spending. If he continues he will eclipse Obama, and remember, it's the GOP's choice....not forced because of the Great Recession.

What I'm trying to say is that stat will be taken away from you sooner or later. You might want to start working on a backup.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

And here's Serrano with his one-trick pony data point. That stat dominates the Fox New comment section with conservatives when Trump's deficits are mentioned.

Not just FNC see, take your pick, I can pick out ten articles and Stock Market data that supports that. I know you guys hate hearing it, but overall for the middle class, he was the worst.

The debt is caused by deficits. We spend more than we take in and we borrow the rest.

Hold up! The last administration spent and borrowed money like it was no one’s business! The Feds were just printing money and printing money and there was no end in sight.

Republicans left Obama with a massive bill to pay with their economic meltdown. Obama took over and lowered their deficit.

And he did nothing to bring up the middle class or even create permanent full time jobs in the private sector.

Trump gets into office and now he's projected to nearly double the deficit.

To fix the crap from the last administration but with a twist, we now have more international business, investments, great 4% GDP, even if it drops to 3.5-7% lowest unemployment, so as long as that holds, he’s ok.

What I'm trying to say is that stat will be taken away from you sooner or later. You might want to start working on a backup.

Lol, nice try.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

just printing money and printing money and there was no end in sight.

Under Trump

great 4% GDP

Bubble?

Not just FNC

Also, Alex Jones

but overall for the middle class, he was the worst.

Middle class being burned with higher healthcare costs under Trump. Also, Trump is burning the farmers.

What is the point of government shutdown as a threat when the government employees still get paid when not doing any work?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

What is the point of government shutdown as a threat when the government employees still get paid when not doing any work?

Well, the people face a huge hassle from not being able to do things like renewing passports. The people end up getting fed up, and major public backlash gets the blockers to stop blocking.

This time that's Trump, by his very declaration in 2013 that it's always the president's fault, and by his declaration two weeks ago that he was proud to shutdown the government, and would wear that mantle proudly.

Trump has a very serious issue on his hands with this now though. His faithful will NOT be happy when he backs down. But realistically, in the past 20 or 30 years, a shutdown has never benefited those who shut down the government. And when he eventually capitulates due to the severe public backlash that is to come, his faithful will feel cheated. And then it's game over.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

bass: Hold up! The last administration spent and borrowed money like it was no one’s business! The Feds were just printing money and printing money and there was no end in sight.

Yes, I'm aware of all of the catchphrases. I believe your personal favorite was, "spending money like a drunken sailor." But the fact is Obama inherited a deficit that he cut in half, and Trump inherited a deficit that he is doubling. By choice.

So now you and I are kind of stuck. I've shown data on the deficit showing Obama was much more fiscally responsible than Trump. On the other hand, you are armed with stereotypes that tell you conservatives are just better at this than liberals. So, data vs. stereotypes. I guess we'll just have to call it a tie for now.

he did nothing to bring up the middle class or even create permanent full time jobs in the private sector.

Obama created more jobs in his first 20 months than Trump did, by a wide margin. He also created more jobs in his last 19 months that Trump's first 19 months. If you have any stereotypes you can use to counter that, let's go ahead and hear them.

And remember, no government statistics can be used. That's your rule. I gave you data showing that nearly all jobs created under Obama were in the private sector and you responded by saying you don't trust government statistics.

So, hit me with your best catchphrases and stereotypes and we will see if they are strong enough to overcome actual data. But don't worry, I don't expect you to say that you finally realize that Democrats just do it better.
