Should be fun to watch the trials. I say there's a 40% chance of him being convicted but it will be good for the country to see the extent at which he tried to overthrow the will of the people.
Peter Neil
Oh, he’ll be convicted of many charges. Particularly the classified documents charges.
It’s a slam dunk case. Others have been convicted of lesser charges recently in classified documents charges and are in prison right now.
Equal justice under the law.
Superlib
Bass, you listed 8 trials. You're saying all 8 judges are out to get him and purposely planned trial dates to hurt him? Seems unlikely on its face.
And don't all these trials help him? You guys say that every time he's indicted. How is helping him election intefearance?
Ah_so
He had the option to bring it forward, so that's his decision.
PTownsend
Trump throughout his long life has used the courts to his personal, private benefit. Trump and his Republican (aka RICO) cronies appointed judges at all levels in attempts to bias decisions that favor the elite establishment.
TaiwanIsNotChina
You would have said the same if it were 1 month before Super Tuesday. Or 1 month afterward. Or any time this century.
plasticmonkey
Nope. Trump and his cult followers will whine and stamp their feet no matter when or what.
Get this mob boss to trial ASAP.
Desert Tortoise
I think Jupiter is going to get a speedy trial whether he waives the right or not.
TaiwanIsNotChina
Even the routine hearing for Chesebro was all over the news and repeated afterward. A Trump trial is going to be OJ Simpson x1000.
Cards fan
LoL Yes, holding Donald to account for his crimes is unfair. LoL LMAO even.
Bob Fosse
Nonsense. But I hope it’s true anyway. Boohoo. Poor widdle me, it’s not fair. Doesn’t it get tiring supporting someone who is always a whining loser victim? Your only hope some imagined pendulum revenge fantasy that keeps getting postponed?
Must be terrible.
stormcrow
What a circus!
TaiwanIsNotChina
Of course he did: he's trying to run out the clock so people don't see him being led away in handcuffs before the election. The question is whether he will still be led away in handcuffs after Jan. 20th if he wins.
Bob Fosse
Seen here flipping a burger. There’ll be plenty more flipping to come.
Bob Fosse
You listed 10 court dates spread over an entire year. The odds of them not being near some kind of election event are pretty slim.
Would you prefer he were allowed to be elected first and then do it all later?
I’ll be sure to try that in court if I’m ever on the stand; we can’t hold the trial now, it’s my nephew’s wedding in September and then of course Halloween.
It’s interference in his personal freedom, the entire purpose of criminal investigations.
Superlib
The trials are coming and there's nothing Trump or his base can do about it. Scream about dates all you want. Won't change anything at all.
Cards fan
lol the proud boys are rightwing extremists, and Donald isn't being harassed for free speech. Calm down.
NotThe One
Verified criminals do not choose schedules convenient for the lifestyle and future plans! The justice system decides.
If the schedule is inconvenient then Trump should not have broken the law. Problem solved!
Superlib
I don't think the Dems planned the trial dates, but if you want to feel frustrated about it, go right ahead. I won't stop you.
There's a part of the Constitution that allows people running for office to delay their trials? Never heard that one before.
They can file motions to have the dates moved, but unless there's a compelling reason, none will be moved. Unless you're talking more about Trump fans calling in bomb threats or something. I think we can both agree it's something that's possible given their violent history.
Already escaping to your safe place in the future? It's pretty early in the discussion for your favorite coping mechanism when present day isn't working out so well for you.
PTownsend
For reasonable people, no, but for the Trump cultists, US and foreign, they'll just use the twistest spin that this constitutes 'election interference' and ignore what real election interference actually was, they'll add this to the lengthy list of ways they and their cult boss have been victimized. Will the money the cult members contribute also be used for legal help for Trumo's dwarves, or will Trump just take it all for himself.
Superlib
So do his legal troubles help or hurt him? You fist pump the air with each new indictment, then cry victim when they move forward.
plasticmonkey
Trump has had plenty of time to prepare. It’s been two and a half years since the dirty deeds. He knew this day was coming eventually.
BTW, where’s that bombshell evidence of election fraud that Trump was going to present?
dagon
The judge Trump appointed, member of the Federalist Society, constitutional absolutist is a swamp dweller too?
I agree absolutely!
Bob Fosse
Another revenge fantasy. You’d better keep up to date, the Biden impeachment inquiry you were dancing about yesterday looks like a no go. Thanks to 45’s DOJ no less. Lol.

How do you know? Did a rightwing North American podcast host tell you?
Hysterical.

I wish people would stop washing our time with false claims about polls.
Bad faith. No use in discussions.
Bob Fosse
Whaaaaaat?!
Which part of the constitution specifically are you referring to?
Strangerland
Which, I'll add, it appears to me they are attempting to do with Biden right now, and this inquisition investigation they are holding.
lincolnman
Well, maybe one of our MAGA-friends will have the courage to answer this today;
Ah yes, the "Green Bay Sweep" - otherwise know by its author John Eastman as a VIOLATION OF FEDERAL STATUTE...
Eastman admitted to Greg Jacob, Vice President Mike Pence’s counsel, who recounted a White House meeting on Jan. 4, 2021, in which Eastman said ****he told Trump that his plan to thwart the counting of the Electoral College violated federal statute.
So how can this be a "witch hunt" if one of the suspects arrested has already confessed to the crime - and clearly implicated another suspect?
Sounds like the only hope Trump has is to call witnesses to vouch for his character....
Given his comments yesterday, perhaps Putin will take the stand to defend his BFF...or maybe Stormy?
Jimizo
Can you point out which poll says that?
Strangerland
That's a good question, how do you know he isn't concerned?
plasticmonkey
Nice little bit of gaslighting there.
Desert Tortoise
There are no "plausible election irregularities". None, zero. Every one of the sixty something allegations were proved false.
Conspiring to overturn an election through fraudulent means is not protected free speech. It is conspiracy to commit a crime. Your argument goes nowhere.
Superlib
Recent poll, if you want real numbers:
https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/17/us/politics/trump-indictments-polls.html
"A majority of Americans, in four recent polls, said Mr. Trump’s criminal cases were warranted. Most were surveyed before a grand jury in Georgia indicted him over his attempts to subvert the 2020 election, but after the federal indictment related to Jan. 6."
I can't find anything after Georgia in the last 30 days.
Strangerland
I think they're including civil trials, as well as trials of his companies etc.

He still has lots of time to hold rallies, tweet, go on Fox & rightwing friends and poison the jury pool. Faced with overwhelming evidence of crimes committed (already public knowledge) jury nullification by one cultish knucklehead is all he can hope for to avoid guilty verdicts. His two aces in the hole to avoid serving serious time are his celebrity status (ex-potus) and his age. Before this reality show is over, the country is going to run out of popcorn.
Bob Fosse
As I thought, not up to date. Scroll up a bit, there’s an article you’ll like.
Superlib
Not sure why you keep posting old polls about singular trials (this one about Stormy) or trials that don't involve Trump (ie Trump org trial).
And I'm surprised that you don't see that the 50% poll numbers are usually split by party lines.
What's telling is when we see numbers get over 60%, which your article shows is the percentage of people who say Trump's crimes are believable. You don't get to those numbers without Republicans and independents voting against you.
So thanks for posting that. The takeaway is that a vast majority believe Trump could have done something illegal.

More trolling. Of course, it’s wrong for me to point that out.

Thread run into the ditch again by the usual bad faith actors. Good job.

The sooner he's in jail, the better. I just sad I don't live in Fulton county, so I can't be part of the jury pool.
If you don't like the democracy, there are built-in ways to change it - through elections. If you don't like the outcome of fair elections, to bad. Your ideas aren't convincing enough. Find some new ideas.

I'm not sure he is "cool" but he certainly knew that Eastman's scheme to draft fake, fraudulent elector lists and have Pence refuse to certify the results was "completely illegal" - Eastman told him so....

That's a scary thought. It seems like a security risk - other countries may see that as four years where they can attack with a president who is hobbled by being prisoner number 429752.

Trump will not be a “thing” after next year, I believe. I don’t even think he’ll be the Republican candidate.
There are just too many walls closing in on him.
The country looks for a new Messiah every 5-6 years, and I truly believe people have had enough and are fed up with the antics of Congress and both Biden and Trump.
The rest of the world is laughing. It’s time to move on.

Look at this - another Trump lawyer and confidant has admitted under oath that she lied about election fraud in 2020...
Jenna Ellis was censured by a disciplinary judge in Colorado Wednesday, in the latest effort to hold accountable attorneys who boosted former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election reversal gambits.
*Ellis signed a stipulation stating that several comments she made about the 2020 election violated professional ethics rules barring reckless, knowing or intentional misrepresentations** by attorneys, according to documents posted by Colorado’s Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel.*
https://www.yahoo.com/news/ex-trump-attorney-admits-statements-190130036.html
"Intentional misrepresentations"....or in other words bald-faced lies...
So Eastman has admitted his scheme was a "violation of federal law", Giuliani admitted under oath that "this is not a fraud case" and that "we just don't have any evidence", Rudy also confessed under oath that his accusations of fraud against Georgia election workers were "false", now Ellis admitted to lying about a "stolen election"...
When will our MAGA-friends wake up to the reality that they've been played for suckers for years...the evidence is right in front of them...

More evidence that the Repubs are self-imploding....
The war of words between Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz and Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy has escalated, with Gaetz accusing McCarthy of "lying like a dead dog."
At one point earlier this week, Gaetz floated the prospect of ousting McCarthy with the unlikely aid of Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell.

Romney's new book has both McConnell and McCarthy slamming Trump;
"It wasn't for you so much as for him," McConnell replied. "He's an idiot. He doesn't think when he says things."
"You're lucky," McConnell continued. "You can say the things that we all think. You're in a position to say things about him that we all agree with but can't say."

Pretty telling - not one answer...looks like our MAGA-friends can't face the reality that Trump approved and implemented a plan that HE KNEW was a "violation of federal statute"....

Waste of time, money, resources.
If the Democrats dont hurry to find anyone with actual skills to lead the country Trump will win and there is nothing you can do about it.
All these 60 comments in this this thread alone and a couple of thousands more until 2024 won't change the election that at this point is already decided, it's just a waste of everyone's lives.
Reminds me of that compilation on Youtube of "celebrities" (including Obama) mockingly dismissing Trump in 2016, "he will never be the president of the United States". What a waste of life and air time.
Strangerland
As an outside, unbiased observer, I note that the MAGA said this before the 2020 election, when Trump lost in a landslide. Do you think he has done something to increase the number of votes he will get, since then?

Since corruption is not being investigated and prosecuted equally among U.S. politicians, and more and more people realize this everyday, more action against Trump only increases support for him.
He won in 2016 for similar reasons. Oh, he is guilty all right. But all the top players are.
bass4funk
He's not going to prison, so No.
The prosecution absolutely has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that intent on the president's part that he knew what he was doing and the outcome of what would happen.
Again, good luck with that.

Yeah, been hearing that since 2015
Also been hearing that since 2016

Jailing the Proud Boys, harassing Trump and super patroit Navarro for protesting plausible election irregularities and exercising free speech rights under democracy whilst every investigation into princeling Hunter goes nowhere. Where is the outrage from rules based countries. It was all condemnation when it comes to China and Russia but what kind of country jails their own citizens for trying to protect democracy.

That’s exactly what the Dems want and have planned.
Look at the dates, all perfectly aligned with these primaries.
Constitutionally that would make more sense.

A court date just one day before super tuesday. Nope. No election interference whatsoever.
bass4funk
Of course. All you have to do is look at the dates of all his trials. 11/2 is the Trump org. Civil suit. 11/23 is the start of the GA trial. His defamation lawsuit with that woman 1/15 the same day the Iowa caucuses start. 1/29 is the pyramid scheme class action suit. 3/4 is the start of the J6 trial and 3/5 is Super Tuesday.
3/25 trial starts in the hush money trial with that porn star woman 5/20 is the classified docs case trial, 7/15 is the Republican National Convention 11/5 is Election Day.
So yes, it is 100% election interference. These dates are just by coincidence, what are the chances? Lol
Go for it. We shall see.
The left always say this. Funny, when it comes to trail investigations on conservatives the left claim slam dunk, when it’s a liberal, you’re just chasing your tail, it’s a witch hunts. Liberals know an outcome of a case because they’re always right, if it’s conservatives, it’s just a crime and waste of time. ROFL
