I would love to be the one who made peace with Israel and the Palestinians, that would be such a great achievement.

This man is clearly unable to conceive of anything in which he is not the center - astounding narcissism. He cares nothing of any outcome other than what might burnish his reputation. BTW, how's that trip to Israel panning out?

Trump told The Wall Street Journal he is skeptical about Netanyahu’s rejection of his comments about Muslims. “He disagrees with me. I doubt he actually does,” Trump said.

Two good government tips! - When you speak, you should make sense; also, you should not call a counterpart a liar.

Trump also suggested that his son-in-law Jared Kushner could help broker the deal.

If there's anybody who can put an end to the long, bitter, twisted conflict at the heart of the Middle East's woes, it's somebody who happens to be married to Trump's daughter. It's a really smart choice.

@FizzBit

Totally agree with you. Peace is not possible under the current boundaries. Israel is still continuing to steal their land. Many politicians and people try to justify it. What a strange world we live in.

No matter how bad Bibi thought things were during the Obama years, he'll soon wish that circumstances could be that good.

A government that most people reject and now like a gum under the shoe can't get rid of.

Give the president-elect a break, b4f.

bass: but at least and unlike Obama, give the man a chance.

Trump promoted the birther movement up until a short while ago against Obama. Obama has been going around trying to calm nerves about Trump.

This is why Trump did so well with uneducated voters. Emotion replaces knowledge.

Good luck with that.

America invades Palestine takes them out and forms a new government?

I would strongly advise to not do that because if Lybia and Iraq is any indication its how to not do things the collateral damage alone would be insane and not worth it.

I know this has been brought up before (thanks):

Post-truth politics (also called post-factual politics) is a political culture in which debate is framed largely by appeals to emotion disconnected from the details of policy, and by the repeated assertion of talking points to which factual rebuttals are ignored. (Wiki)

Throw in some easy to understand and repeat memes, e.g. 'lock her up', 'build a wall', 'rigged', 'MSM bias' and voila you get a Republican reality TV star in charge.

Sounds like a bloody war with uncountable deaths, maimings and untold misery. Good thing you're not in charge of Middle East policy.

Are you kidding me?

"Bloody war with uncountable deaths, maimings and untold misery" is the norm in the region for the last two millennia. It's unfair to waste all that uncontrollable US debt just on the Jewish state.

From someone who spent years on JT advocating and defending invading Iraq, then golly you'd sure better hush on the Middle Easty policy old buddy.

In order to broker peace....don't both sides have to want it? I just do not get that feeling.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Yeah thats not going to happen the hamas led Palatinians wont accept a 2 state solution only if the Israelis clear out completly wich is impossible at this point not to mention that Israel is the most stable country and ally in the region so their chances are non existent.

Isreal has stolen so much Palestinian land I don't see how it's possible. Modern prison state.

All he has to do is put a freeze on the billions the US throws at Israel every year, until they return to the 1967 borders (or 1947 borders, perhaps).

He complains about the Iran deal, that the US doesn't get anything in return. What does he think the US is getting in exchange for the billions Israel gets every year?

WilliBNOV. 23, 2016 - 03:42PM JST. Any peace deal would require that both sides want it. Read the Hamas constitution to see where that pipedream goes.

You Israeli's were decades ahead of everyone in the post-truth era.True pioneers. One only has to look at the concentration camp in the Gaza Strip and the continued illegal expansion of territory to see that while a peace deal isn't official written into Israeli charter, they're quite happy with the situation as it is...

Niether side want nor deserve peace. Palestine should be given equal military funding and they should be left to slug it out, winner takes all.

Well, he went to Harvard so he is a very smart lad. That plus Trump's love for Muslims will make this deal huge man, like really huge lol

AND EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD! Fighting over the same grains of sand that generations have claimed solves nothing.

Wall Envy? Trump probably also wants his name on the Dome of the Rock.

Anyway, see some of his 80s shenanigans (Donald Trump: a True Narcissistic Sociopath) here:

I actually love when liberals insult the average conservative voter, personally, I hope they keep calling them names and further marginalizing themselves and keeping them all in the realm of the Uniconverese where they can explore as long as time permits them. Lol

I can dig it. Very groovy, baby . . .

Absolutely no way right wing Jews will accept a two state solution. It is not going to happen anytime soon.

That is probably the best description of the anti-Trump movement I have ever read. Thanks for sharing PT.

Madverts, you never admit when you're wrong do you? The topic here is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

No one is saying Trump has the answers to the complexity that makes up the Mideast, but at least and unlike Obama, give the man a chance.

"the checkered history of U.S. attempts to broker a Middle East peace."

Oh good grief, what about the checkered history of any other country's attempts to broker ME peace?

"Palestine should be given equal military funding..."

You're joking, right, Madverts? The funding, of course, coming from the United States with a $20 trillion national debt, right? But wait, there's more -

"... and they should be left to slug it out, winner take all"
